Post by Dr. Yori Shisutemu on Jan 25, 2019 2:08:16 GMT
The walled-off area was not ideal for what Yori had planned. A huge open city for a simple game. But this was far from just a simple game! No, this was the sport! A testing of one's athletic capabilities with and without Quirks! A means for creating out of the box thinking in a constantly altering situation! Since there hadn't been many physical exercises for the groups, aside from say, his cousin's classic beat-downs of her students, this was a fun environment to really let loose without the pressure of five-thousand push-ups, or something worse. This sport was known as dodgeball. Yori's version of dodgeball. Dodgebrawl. As the cart with an assortment of dodgeballs, jerseys, and of course, a few devices to keep things interesting. As Yori pushed a finger forward upon what looked like a simple video game controller, the cart continued it's advance hands-free, as the mad scientist teacher entered into one of the buildings. As he entered, the space he saw made him smirk in delight. This was more enclosed. A sizable lobby area, empty as the fake cities always were. This was where Doctor Yori would set up his class. A can of spray paint with an input port met his technojack, and with very precise movements of his hand, Yori made the perfect rectangle along the ground. This lobby area of what must have been akin to a skyscraper's lobby was just spacious enough to fit all of his needs. Two sets of jerseys on two sides, red and blue in color. There were about four or five to each side. As Yori finished, he moved over to the dodgeballs, and looked at his cart. A smirk on his face as he looked at each one. "Do not fret, my darling creations. You shall soon best tested. You do know how I love tests." he began to chuckle. Soon thereafter came the trademark laugh of a man far removed from his own sanity. So. He would wait outside of the building. Arms crossed, and moved a flask of water to his face. Upon his body, his signature lab coat, white, and a purple button-up underneath. His shirt had been tucked into his black pants, and of course, most importantly was the visor on his head to keep the beating sun out of his eyes. After all, standing in the sun wasn't great. In fact, if he were being totally honest... This really sucked. "Come now, my little test subjects, where are you...?" he would tap his foot, in waiting. Truly, this sport wasn't JUST for testing... was it? It was Yori... of course it was. (ALL YEARS AND CLASSES ARE ALLOWED)

It was a nice, warm day! Even though it was already last 4pm, it was pretty bright still outside and the sun was shining, the spring breeze blowing pleasantly, ruffling Raphael's wavy blonde hair. Being done with classes for today and the fact he wasn't a member of any after school club, and with a free schedule job wise, he was free today! He actually wanted to join some club, it screamed HIGHSCHOOL! like one of the light novels he reads in his spare time, but he wasn't sure he could juggle his training, studies, work AND a club on top of that... though he would like to. But maybe it was a little too ambitious and he had always been told to just keep looking forward and not be distracted by personal desires. Maybe...if he could find one that related to furthering his quirk...then he would be allowed? It wasn't like he even had anyone he needed to get permission from, his management didn't interfere to that degree it was more...if he would let himself. Raphael stopped suddenly, looking around at his surroundings. He had been distracted with his thoughts (something that happened quite often, unfortunately.) and not really paying attention to where he was going. "Where...am I?" Large lilac eyes blinked in confusion. Oh no...Turning where he stood, he had really no idea where he was. The whole area looked like nothing he had seen before, with large warehouses the sizes of stadiums dotted around, labeled "Ground Gamma" "Ground Beta". He should really just go the way he came, but when he turned round, he realised that he had come from a fork in the walkway. Did he come from the left or right? He couldn't remember anymore. Help...
This was when he noticed a man standing outside one of the buildings- was that a teacher? yes, wasn't that the support studies professor who came into the classroom on the first day? "A..ah...I've been saved...!!" Thank god! He could ask the man which way the dorms were, and he could get back to his room! There was a god after all! "Um...excuse me, Sensei..." Raphael began as he walked towards the man.

Post by Taka Hone on Jan 28, 2019 10:58:10 GMT
14 Hours.
14 full hours it had taken to get to U.A. Most of that was taken up by getting from Sapporo to Tokyo, but Taka had found himself lost once he had reached the Capital. He had never been to such a place, in truth. Growing up around mountainous areas, Hone had almost become overwhelmed by the size of the buildings around him. They were almost as big as the hills he once knew so well.
However, now there was a different mountain range he looked to scale.
He looked down briefly at his arm, tucked into his kimono, before he slowly began thinking back to the train ride here. Of the child looking at him strangely when he let it hang by his side, and asking his mother a little too loudly what was wrong with his hand before Taka could hide it away. He didn't know why that still bothered him. He had seen the same thing happen for years now, but for some reason he always got a little twinge in his chest at the questions. And if it wasn't questions, it was the sneers, or the avoidance of eye contact. Even after the amount of diversity that years of Quirks had created, it still appeared that disfigurement was still held its own podium of universal bewilderment and revulsion.
But then again, that's one of the reasons why Taka was here to begin with...
He slowly pulled out his phone, looking down at the large amount of messages that his father had sent him, asking how the trip was going, how long it was going to take, and perhaps most importantly frequently asked question, was he there yet?
'I'm here, I just arrived. I'll call once I've settled in. Love you'
The message was brief, but it needed to be. His father needed to learn that Hone wasn't going to be around anymore, and that he needed to stop worrying about him. Sending him messages for 12 hours straight was not going to demonstrate that, although he could understand why. He had lost his wife to the Pro-Hero life, and now he feared he was about to lose his son to it as well. But now was not the time to think of his father's paranoia. He has already missed the opening ceremony and the first few days of class. He needed to get his head in the game and catch-up on the days he had lost.
Defiantly, Hone grabbed his suitcase with his good hand, before making his way to the entrance. He quickly signed in and was given everything he needed, before handed a map by the receptionist and told to go drop his things off at the dormitories. Taka swiftly left, before setting about his way.
And half an hour later, he was still on his way.
Confused by the map he was given, he didn't understand why everything had been colour coded on the map, when everything was either grey or made of glass in real life. He had found himself at a fork in the road, but couldn't decipher on the map WHICH fork it was. Slowly, he turned a corner before he began to see a boy in front of him with beautiful blond hair. He'd not seen such a thing since his trips to see his mother's family in England, and granted, even some were typically people who dyed it.
"A...ah...I've been saved...!!" The boy suddenly exclaimed, as Kata was suddenly snapped back into reality. He quickly looked around in a panic, wondering what the potential danger could be, before finally his eyes followed the boy moving towards an older man wearing what appeared to be a lab coat, but surely he wasn't the danger...
...Right?
Taka watched as the boy began to approach the man.
"Um...excuse me, Sensei..."
'Ahh, so he's a teacher...' Taka thought to himself, as he looked over, watching the boy approach. Hopefully at least the teacher could help him find his way to the Dormitories to drop off his things...

Post by Isamu Suzuki on Feb 8, 2019 7:52:14 GMT
Unlike his other two classmates, Isamu knew exactly where he was and even where he was going. It was just taking him a lot longer to traverse the distance given his much smaller stride and the much larger size of the U.A. campus. I really need to see if I can get them to start a tram service… or get a motorcycle… Now that was an idea to tuck away for a rainy day. Regardless, it was still a good chance to explore more of the U.A. campus, and to get a better sense of one of the training grounds he would undoubtedly be seeing a lot of in the years to come.
Darting through alleyways, scaling walls, and running along railings, the cat-like student took a meandering but still directed path towards his goal, peeking through windows at mostly-empty lobbies as he went. Stopping a few times to check a map on his phone, he soon caught fresh scents and started following those, soon turning a corner and coming within sight of… there was the teacher, and two students to boot. He recognized the one from his homeroom, but the other…
Well, he didn’t recognize him, so he could be in another class, but the way he was carrying both a map and a suitcase screamed ‘new arrival’ instead.
Isamu darted across the top of a brick wall on all fours, before leaping off and landing neatly on the ground behind the new arrival, barely making a stound until he stood up and said, “Hey. You lost?”

Post by Ren Wolff on Feb 12, 2019 17:18:06 GMT
It was an interesting thing, Ren thought as he looked down at the flyer in his hand. At first glance you could pretty easily tell that it was advertising yet another extracurricular activity, but beyond that it got a bit more cloudy. He honestly couldn't tell if this was supposed to be a sporting event or some sort of training exercise. Likely the answer was both, but the name of the person running it meant that it could just as likely be neither. Ren's memory of Yori was dominated by how... interesting of an impression the man had left on their first day. It was enough to make him question whether this was such as good idea after all, but... here he has. The fact of the matter was that he didn't have work today and didn't have much better to do. If it did end up being some sort of quirk training, it would be time well spent, if not, then it seemed like the sort of thing that would be fun anyway.
Glancing down at the map on his phone, Ren made sure that he was still heading in the right direction. Ground beta was pretty well off the beaten path when compared to the school, and ever after entering the walls of the mock city he still had to find his way to the meeting point. Ren's navigation sense was pretty decent, but even with a map at his disposal it was still quite the challenge to find his way through the labyrinth of tightly packed streets and alleys that made up the facility. It had already been almost a full half hour since he set out and Ren was starting think that he was going to be late when he noticed a figure turn round the corner ahead of him. 'Was that Raphael? ...Can't think of a reason why he'd be here other than the game, maybe he knows where he's going.' Ren picked up his pace and went after his classmate, oblivious to just how lost the boy was.
By the time he caught up, Ren rounded the corner to see a small gathering of people in front of a large building. He could pick out Raphael, Isamu, Yori, and.... huh, he didn't know that one. He seemed to be carrying luggage with him so... either they got lost moving in or they brought some sort of equipment with them. The boy approached the group with a wave, giving a small bow to Yori when he drew closer. "Good afternoon Doctor Shisutemu. You guys all here for dodge ball?"

Post by Daiki Satou on Feb 14, 2019 0:02:14 GMT
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH KITTY WHYYYYYYYYYYY!?"
Daiki sprinted through an urban residential area, small walls closing in homes where families lived. Right behind him? A devilish kitten chasing him down trying to nibble at his heel after he saved it from a tree! He zoomed up onto one of the walls, perching and looking down at it. The kitten looked up and blinked. Mewed. Then it jumped in a thick hedge and onto the wall- the chase began again!
"NO KITTY I WAS JUST TRYING TO SAVE YOU THIS CAN'T BE HOW IT ENDS! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" The kitten jumped at him and chomped onto his calf with ferocious ferocity! Little teeth nibble marks would be there for a bit as the kitten was stuck to him like a vice grip. He wiggled his leg, falling onto his back to try and shake it off. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! WHAT DID I DO TO DESERVE THIS NOOOOOOO- Oh sorry ma'am." He said with a blank expression as an elderly lady opened her door to see what was going on.
The kitten stayed chomped on his leg, though the eyes of the creature slowly drifted to the lady as well, before it let go and meowed, walking up beside Daiki. The lady smiled and laughed, slapstick comedy was rare in day to day life, it's generally found in old films or- well, Daiki. It's generally found in Daiki. The kitten and Daiki in all truth were just playing, one of the many stray cats he'd made friends with in Musutafu since starting school. He picked it up gently in a nice scoop and it curled up in his arms to snooze a bit. While it did so, he chatted with the lady for a while. He even asked if she wanted to adopt the kitten, though unfortunately she was living on her own and in her age wasn't too confident in taking care of herself and the kitten. Oh well, someone else eventually would.
He said goodbye to the lady and walked off with the kitten. He'd warmly named it Nyabo, and when he called out that name he'd say it in a strange cute tone, going, "Nya-nya Nyabooooo where aaaare yoooou?" And sure enough it had gotten used to that and come running. He fed it here and there to but- oh wait. He had class didn't he, well, extracurricular class but still. He couldn't pass up an opportunity to better himself. Nyabo looked up towards him and blinked, dead quiet. He looked at Nyabo as well with an empty expression. Realization had dawned upon him, and Nyabo was feeling Daiki's growing, albeit comical panic. Daiki slowly looked down to his phone. Uh oh.
His thumb tapped on Escape from the City - Ted Poley, Tony Harnell.
ZYOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM the kitten let out a loud meow as it was startled, tail standing on end as Daiki raced through the residential area and crouched down next to where Nyabo often was. He set the kitten down that looked at him, licking his hand. He kissed the head of the kitten and ran off like a bullet.
The wind was an awesome feeling on his body as he ran, but he was on the clock! Ten minutes until class started and he wasn't even at UA let alone the Grounds that the extracurricular event on his calendar was at. Heads turned as a tiny little dust trail followed him wherever he went through the streets, though he preferred to stick to quieter areas to avoid dodging foot traffic. Jump over this wall, sprint down that small residential road, left, right, straight, right, left, straight. Fast forward eight minutes and he was just getting into the area the class was at. Still, he started to call out towards the group, maybe they could hear him, maybe not. He was sweeping the grounds the hard way, one street at a time. "Hold on! Be there soon AAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"
What they could certainly hear as he made his final approach was the kicking of debris, rampant pat pat of footsteps, and of course Daiki shouting out with some fatigue that he was almost there. Sure enough, he'd come to a skidding halt, almost flying head over heels to do so. He'd crouch a bit, resting his hands upon his knees to catch his breath.
"Oh hey everyone. Hello, Sensei." He looked around, one new face in particular stood out to him. What's even better?
HE WAS BALD.
