It took a moment for Ren to realize just what sort of a position he was in, after all; it was kind of hard to think about that kind of thing when he was in the middle of stopping his classmate from becoming a smear on the ground. As Elke scrambled back to her feet however, he too found himself looking away, scratching the back of his head in embarrassment as his face took on an extra shade of red. "N-no problem... maybe a bit more of a warning next time though, I barely got this thing out in time." He sat up and pulled the ice shield out from behind his back before inspecting it. The surface was chipped in a few places from where it bounced of some rocks, but other than that it seemed to be both intact and properly shaped. Not too bad for a moment's notice; he was actually started to get pretty decent at this whole 'creation' thing.
Ren used the chunk of ice as a brace to get back up to his feet, then snapped his fingers, causing the ice to splinter and dissipate into a cloud of dust. After taking a moment to brush the dirt off the back of his pant legs (and letting last traces of scarlet fade from his face), he turned back to face Elke with a composed smile. Thankfully, the girl brought them back on topic with the tour, and Ren took a few seconds to think about where they'd be heading next. "Let's see... We should probably head over to the main building first and show you where everything is in there..." He nodded to himself as he came to the decision. She'd need to know where all the classrooms were before anything else, since she could probably just follow the class to the other facilities as needed. "Alright, let's get going then."
As the pair got moving again, Elke brought up the topic of hobbies again, this time asking Ren about his own interests. There was a time, not long before he got to UA, when he would have been fairly hesitant to talk about himself at all, it was just the sort of environment he'd gotten used to. His time with his classmates in 1-A, no matter how short, had changed that though, and his ability to communicate with new people had improved tremendously. "My hobbies, huh?" He mused as he walked, returning his hands to his pockets. He had a few of them. "Well, I like music. I've got a bass guitar that I practice with every now and then... Kendo is pretty fun, and they've got a club here that's run by the school nurse. I like watching old movies too, got a big collection that I got from my family. Cooking is probably my favorite though." Since he'd moved in, the boy had basically taken over the dorm's kitchen, filling up the fridge and shelves with all kinds of ingredients that he went through on a regular basis. The fact that he used the facilities so much meant that there was almost always some form of leftovers set out on the counters for his fellow students to enjoy. "Speaking of which... Every weekend, we get as many people around as we can in the dorms and I throw together a big meal. We'll be having one of those tomorrow, so if you have any requests, let me know." He looked back toward Elke with a smile as he extended the offer, wondering just what sort of foods he'd have an excuse to make now.
Before long, the pair reached one of the many entrances to the main building, and Ren held the door open for his companion before moving inside and picking out a path towards the classrooms. "Anything else you want to know about?" He asked as he continued to walk down the hall.

Elke's eyes would sparkle in awe at the large kite shield that Ren had created to protect himself from the ground. He was very quick to activate his quirk in such a way, and with how easy it was to dismiss the shield itself; to put it lightly, Elke was impressed. She couldn't revel in awe at his quirk for long, however, as the two had things to do later that day; Elke would have to learn more about that quirk in secret if she had to spar against him later in her school years. As the pair continued, Ren mentioned the next place on their tour was the main building itself. From the way Ren spoke, Elke could only imagine how much was inside the building; just think about the strange things she might come across in a Japanese school of all places! Once Ren began talking about his hobbies however, Elke's interest in the building shifted drastically. Music, of course, that was a hobby! Silly Elke, everybody liked music and she was no exception; it was just that Ren actually knew how to play an instrument. She had been meaning to pick one up but never found the time away from flying to actually learn one. Perhaps she should actually look into learning a musical instrument. It could be good after all. Then Ren got into the more exotic hobbies; Kendo. As she knew, Kendo was a sport where two people picked up these practice bamboo swords and beat each other with them; it was quite barbaric but probably entertaining to watch. Old movies fit that list, and Elke couldn't think of any older films she enjoyed, let alone watched. She remembered her father going nuts over an old film about a rogue AI and some guy named Dave, and began to wonder if Ren had seen this movie as well. Out of all the hobbies that stuck out, cooking was the one that stuck out the most. Her father back home was always the one that cooked, but most families they visited were the opposite; it was traditionally the mother that cooked the food at home. Curious, Elke's eyes narrowed while watching Ren's expression as he mentioned the cooking time on the weekends. She couldn't tell if he was serious or not about the weekend cooking bouts, but from the way he offered her to join shows that it indeed was true. He was from Berlin as well, maybe there was some old fashioned German food in there. There was, however, one piece of food she hoped was going to be there the most; Currywurst. Back in Berlin, it was everywhere and for good reason! "Currywurst." A single word, for a simple request. She knew that Ren knew about the food, after all, he was from her home city and country, right? "If you make Currywurst, you can guarantee I'll be there." She had to add more onto it, to make sure he knew it was what she wanted, but not a request. Making a request like that would be too early in their relationship to really do, and Elke tried to keep this in mind going forward. When it came to anything else she wanted to know about the school, not much came to mind. Her mind wandered about the food that was mentioned before, but then something came to her mind. "So... with these weekend cooking sessions... how do you stay in shape? Is there a gym on campus?" She was curious about it afterall. While yes this was a hero school, she could only assume that there were unique ways to train their quirk or body on school grounds after class. Such a thing would be very beneficial even for herself in the long run; due to her size she would need to improve her body by quite a large margin to allow her easy usage of her quirk. By the time they had finished talking, the main building came in line of sight. There were a few students leaving the building, but over-all it was mostly empty due to it being the weekend. She could only wonder if there were any teachers inside at the time being.

"Huh?" Ren was still thinking about the new recipes he would get to try when Elke gave her request and he'd almost missed it. He got it when she clarified her statement. Currywurst, huh? Now that was something he hadn't had in a long time. It was a simple recipe, some fried bratwurst diced up and severed with a curry sauce that was derived from ketchup. It was the sort of thing that you would pick up from a street vendor, not exactly fine dining cuisine, but it was far from the worst guilty pleasure a person could have. What to serve with it though? It occurred to him that it had actually been quite awhile since he had gotten to enjoy any of the food from his homeland. Most of his classmates were locals, so the majority of the requests he'd gotten reflected those tastes. The fact that they now had someone from back home gave him more of an excuse to revisit some of his favorites. As the gears in Ren's brain started turning, he realized he hadn't actually responded to Elke yet and shook his head free. "Ah, sorry... That shouldn't be hard to throw together, just have to grab some ingredients tomorrow morning and we'll have you covered. " He grinned , probably looking forward to it about as much as Elke would be.
The girl's next question was with regards to training regiments and facilities they had access to on campus. "Well, obviously our classes end up helping a lot with staying in shape, but outside that, we've got basically any type of training environment you could possibly think of." It was true enough, the school had everything your standard weight rooms, tracks, and sport fields, to specialized sparring rooms, situation rooms, and disaster simulations. As the top hero school in the world, no expense was spared on making sure their students could be in the best shape possible, both physically and mentally. "Personally, I get a pretty decent workout from Kendo club, throw that on top of daily exercises and the occasional trip to the training fields, and I get by well enough. Those are kinda spread out across the campus, but we can swing by the main training grounds after we get through the classrooms."
As the pair started to make their way through the building, Ren resumed his duty as a tour guide and began pointing out the important facilities as they went. The mail rooms were that way, the cafeteria was down the hall and to the left, the nurse's office was right over there, and the faculty office was right at the top of those stairs. It actually surprised Ren that he was able to remember all of it, considering just how much of a labyrinth the inside of the school was. By they time they got over to where the classrooms were, he must have listed off at least 30 different sets of directions she'd have to remember, not that he actually expected her to memorize it all immediately. "It's a lot to take in, but you'll get the hang of it before long. In the mean time, they've got maps you can load up on your phone, not the easiest to navigate with inside the building though, so you can also just ask us for directions over the student chat if you're stumped." He stopped in front of the door to 1-A's homeroom. "Might want to try to remember this one though, this is our homeroom." As expected for the weekend, the room was devoid of people and the whole area was practically silent aside from the voices and footsteps of the two students. "If you're not feeling particularly confident with directions, I can always come with you on Monday morning to make sure you don't get lost on the way. This place can be a nightmare like that." The boy shrugged a bit, turning back to Elke after she'd gotten a look at the room.
"That about does it for all the stuff you'll need to know for in here, ready to move on?"

While entering the building, the only thing on Elke's mind was the potential flavour of her home that she was looking forward a week from then, that savoury flavour of curry and bratwurst... the taste almost flooded her senses as they were walking past a few areas when Ren's voice knocked her back to reality. What room were they at again? The cafeteria? Oh no, she lost track of where they were! Her head started spinning, which could easily be noticed by her expression. With each new location, her expression would get more worried, especially when he mentioned their own classroom of 1-A, and how it was a room she would need to memorize. Elke could easily agree with most of what Ren said; the school was huge and far more to take in that she could even dream of holding onto, but the fact maps existed of the school made it extremely easy to figure out. She wasn't new to reading maps and even then, she could ask in the student chat for directions or even a nearby student if she got lost! Her head slowly stopped spinning, allowing her to focus on where they were in the school. Yeah, the school was a nightmare to navigate. Having someone to join her that Monday morning would be a guaranteed must. Stepping closer to Ren she would nod in acknowledgement before speaking aloud quietly. "Y-yeah could you join me Monday morning?" Another embarrassing moment. She should be able to get to class just fine, but one could never be too sure. "I don't want to get lost and be late to class on the first day." A shiver went down Elke's spine at the thought of being late. She could only imagine the glares she would get from her parents if they heard that she was late even once, let alone on the first day. Such a shudder caused words to sputter from the smaller German based on fear alone. "Papa'd kill me."Pausing, she re-oriented herself and stepped back from Ren, smiling widely. "I think I can figure out the rest of the building on my own time. I'm pretty good with maps." She was sure she could handle it, but more likely she just didn't want to force Ren to show her every single last room in the building. "Could you... show me to the Kendo club room? I've never seen such a place in person!" Stars filled her eyes at the thought of what such a room could look like. Tatami mats covering the floor perfectly, piles of kendo practice armour and lots of bamboo swords. From memory, she remembered these being called Bogu and Shinai respectively; her father made sure that she knew these words as Kendo was popular in Japan and she needed to know at least the basic terminology. She had another, more selfish reason to wanting to be shown where the Kendo club's practice room is. If she didn't know where it was, how could she sneak in and watch Ren practice every now and then? Curiosity killed the Elke after all.

Ren gave a short nod in response to Elke's request for an escort on the first day. It was a reasonable enough thing to be worried about with a school this large, and he wouldn't have offered in the first place if hadn't been willing to do it. "No problem, I tend to get up early, so just come find me in the common room Monday morning." She claimed she'd be able to handle the rest with the maps, and while he knew from experience that wasn't as easy as one would think, the ability to tag along with their classmates made the venture far less risky. He was sure she would be fine. Still, the boy could help but chuckle a little bit as the girl brought up her father again. Every time the subject of the man came up, the girl's demeanor seemed to change rather drastically, and it was pretty obvious that she cared a lot about her family. Ren found himself trying to remember what it was like to have people like that that actually cared about your well being, rather than just the effect you had on the family image. Eight years was a long time for a kid to go without that kind of support.
When Ren started off for their next destination, Elke made yet another request, this time seeming to show interest in the kendo club's practice building. It was a bit of a strange thing for someone to ask, unless of course they were thinking about joining the team, but Ren really didn't mind either way. "Sure, it's not exactly out of our way, so I can show you around." He said as they passed through a set of doors back to the outside of the school. Walking around the perimeter of the main building, the pair rounded the corner and some of the school's many training facilities came into view. "The school's facilities are pretty well spread out. The main physical education building is that big one right there, and that's where the weight rooms and the pool are, along with a bunch of the simulation rooms. Grounds Beta and Gamma are over there." He pointed to a pair of massive structures that rose up in the distance with outlines like cities. "We go there for some of our more hands-on training during class. The field right here is the one I usually use. There's a big track, a bunch of sparring lanes, and sectioned off areas for quirk practice. That building at the far side is an equipment shed, and you should be able to fine anything you could possibly need in there." The building he pointed to was more of a small warehouse than a shed, big enough to get lost in the maze of shelves that it contained, as he had already discovered himself.
After pointing out a number of the more useful facilities in the area, Ren began to approach one of the several nondescript buildings that surrounded the field. Each was a modern structure that matched the visual style of the rest of the school, the only things setting them apart from each other being their size and an alphanumeric identifier that was printed along the top of the front wall. That part had definitely taken some getting used to. "This one is the kendo dojo." He told Elke as he got the door. Although the outside was just as utilitarian as the rest of the school, the inside was a very different story. Cold metal frames gave way to an interior that looked like it came right out of the Edo period. Tatami mats covered the floor and the walls were styled to resemble the classic paper construction, complete with intricate floral patterns, while furnished wood made up the molding and support frames. Several weapons and a suit of classical samurai armor were displayed on the far wall, but these were merely for show. The real gear was stored in a small neighboring room, which connected to a nondescript door in the corner.
"If you want to take a look around, make sure you take off your shoes before you step on the mats." Ren warned his companion. He himself came here often enough, so he'd simply wait by the entrance until Elke had had her fill of exploring.

A wave of relief would wash over Elke as she heard the agreement that he'd walk with her that Monday. Such an agreement would guarantee that she wouldn't be late, and thus wouldn't have to tell her father. Worse yet would have been if mother found out; both of her parents were exceptionally strict about being punctual, and one would think the engineer more-so than the artist but that one would have been wrong. If anything, the reason her father was so strict was due to the mother pressing into him at every little moment; almost as if her father needed someone to do so from time to time. Elke's eyes seemed to sparkle a little bit when Ren agreed to show her the kendo club's practice area, but after a single blink it was as if it wasn't there; she knew her emotions were easy to see and did her best to hide when she was happy or excited about something that could be potentially used against her in other situations. One could never be too careful with boys. Continuing their light tour of UA, Elke couldn't help but notice just how insanely large the school really was. It made sense to her, the fact it was so big, but a lot of it felt like wasted space on such a small island. The campus was very far from being compact, but at the very least she could get from point A to point B easily due to how open the primary area was. She knew that going to the main education building might be one of her best bets to increasing her own strength, but with her size, she would prefer something a bit more discreet; after all, seeing a small human lift normal weights could make others chuckle at the sight. When it came to where she would primarily train is the sectioned off quirk training spots that Ren had pointed out; with her quirk, it could be relatively bad for her to practice either indoors, or nearby others as she couldn't control any destructive power it had, just whether it was on or off. As the duo began to approach one of the several buildings around the edge of the field, Elke couldn't help but examine the building itself. Would they visit each building? No, probably not. The thoughts began twirling in her head as to what this building could have been until Ren explained that it was the kendo dojo itself. Strange, she thought to herself, it had no markings showing what it was except for a number. How do they get new members? Just through advertisement? Skeptical thoughts continued until reaching the inside of the dojo, where everything drastically changed. The room looked like it was straight from a history book. Stepping a bit to the side, Elke would begin poking, and moving her hands across the paper-craft walls; it was something she had never felt before. It didn't take her long before her awe-filled eyes spanned across the room, but she stopped when she saw the tatami mats themselves. Ren's warning lingered in her mind; do not step on the tatami mats in shoes. Looking at the boots she had on, she realized that maybe now would not be the best time; from outside all Ren would have seen is Elke's entire body stop when her eyes moved to the tatami mat, get exceptionally worried, then look down at her boots before skipping back over to him. "I can take a look later!" Her voice was cheery, "I've always been curious what kendo practice looks like. When do you guys practice?" The question came out, and Elke had let her guard down. With such a question being asked, it could possibly be that Ren would realize that her true goal of seeing the kendo club's room was to bear witness to her fellow student fighting in the future, but she kept her composure. There was still a chance he wouldn't notice, and best yet, not bring up such a silly idea. Then it happened. A loud groaning gurgle sound erupted through the room for a few seconds leaving Elke's face utterly shocked, before she turned completely red; she hadn't noticed that she forgot to eat when getting off the plane earlier, and her stomach had decided to do the most embarrassing thing it could think of, which told the world about it. Perhaps it was time to end the tour and get something to quell the beast. How many more places did they need to see? Elke couldn't imagine it. "Ah... s-sorry about that uhm... w-where to next?" Elke's voice was stammering from embarrassment as she tried to ignore the fact her stomach growled so loudly.

Ren couldn't help but raise an eyebrow as Elke came to a stop awkwardly at the edge of the dojo floor, just standing there and staring down. That was a bit odd, she had seemed pretty excited to be there even a moment before, what could she... Ah. He followed her gaze down and immediately realized the ramifications of the girl's footwear. Boots that went up past her knees, and not the sort that zipped up. Those would take someone a good while to get on and off, it wasn't terribly surprising that she didn't want to go through the hassle at the moment. Even if it was an inconvenience, he couldn't exactly let her walk on the Tatami like that either, it damaged the mats. Oh well, he shrugged, some other time then.
Despite Elke's worries about revealing the intention behind her next question, to Ren it seemed like a perfectly natural thing to ask. She'd expressed interest in seeing the space in the first place, so it made sense that she might want to actually see the sport in action too. Hell, maybe she was actually thinking about joining the club. It would certainly be hard for her with a frame that small, Ren judged, but wouldn't be impossible, and this school wasn't about doing things just because they were easy. "Our primary practices are in the evenings every Wednesday and Sunday, those are when everyone is supposed to show up, though there are supplemental practices that are held on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Those are smaller groups that are supervised by seniors. I can't go to most of those because of my job." He gave a shrug. "But I do try to catch one whenever I get the chance."
Finishing his answer to the question, Ren was just about to ask if there was anything else Elke wanted to see when he heard a loud gurgling noise. As someone who practiced the culinary arts, it was a very familiar sound, and as the girl's face went completely red, Ren responded with the most gentle of smiles. She had just flown in from Germany right before she came to the school, right? It was no surprise that she would be hungry after being in the air that long, and the usual nervousness of going someplace new probably didn't help. As Elke tried to brush off the incident, the blonde boy took a moment to contemplate what they had left. They had taken care of the dorms, done a quick pass of main building and classrooms already, and they'd just gone over the more prominent features of the practice field, so....
"Well... We've covered just about all of the necessities already, so unless there was anything else you wanted to see specifically, I was about to invite you out to lunch. My treat, consider it a welcome to U.A." Ren scratched the back of his head, still wearing the smile, though with a bit of timidness creeping in to the expression. Such an invitation to a person he just met was something that he wouldn't have even considered before he got the the school. "What do you say?"

Having learned of when the Kendo club practices, Elke realized that it could be a good idea to perhaps join. It sounded like a great way to perfect her hand-eye coordination while also staying in shape; at least much better than lifting weights at the gym would do. Although her size would cause many problems in practice, that just made the challenge that much better. If she showed up to practice on the supplemental days, perhaps she could get good enough to show just what she truly was capable of! She'd, of course, need to hold herself back on the normal days to keep Ren from realizing her skill until she could whoop him well! Oh what a surprise that would be for him! Such triumphant thoughts were eradicated by her gurgling stomach, being brought back to reality before Ren even had the chance of mentioning food. Elke couldn't hide the sparkles in her eyes when the invitation to lunch came; but then her own relationship paranoia caught up. She'd have to accept this offer of Lunch, after all, she could now tell that she felt absolutely starved but Ren knew the closest route to getting food. From what she could tell, Ren seemed to be showing signs of timidness, signs that show he too was shy in these kinds of situations. With reddened cheeks, Elke tried to respond, but the heat in her cheeks made it difficult. "S-s-sure. I'm n-not that hungry b-but... just this once." Puffing up her face, she turned to the side with a hmph before leaving the dojo past Ren. In her head she knew the only reason she left the building so quickly was to prevent him from seeing her true reaction to the situation; once outside she rapidly shut the door behind her before gasping for air, panting a few times and clutching at her chest. It was too much; new country, new school, new people, and meeting a nice cute blonde guy. At this rate, she'd die of embarrassment before stress. Taking a brief moment before Ren followed her outside, she puffed her chest outward, taking a sort of heroic-ish pose to help bolster her own mind for the upcoming 'lunch' before spinning around, appearing normal once more. "So, we're heading to the lunch room right? I can't wait to try the food they have here!"Notes: If you'd like to end the thread here, we can have it ending while they are heading to where they get lunch. Up to you.

Ren blinked several times as he once again found himself at a bit of a loss. When he first brought up the idea of lunch, Elke had seemed almost overjoyed at the offer, and she had accepted his invitation. After that however, she proceeded to storm out back out of the building, practically slamming the door in his face as she left. That had made him stop dead in his tracks and... just kinda stand there for a few seconds. He wasn't stupid enough to believe that she wasn't really hungry after receiving such a clear sign but.... had he made her upset by bringing it up at all? He scratched his head again, his face once again taking on a bit of red at the perceived error. Maybe he still wasn't that great at all this after all.
But if she had been upset, why did she agree at all? He really didn't get that part, but he had made the offer, so he still had the duty to see it through. Taking a deep breath and letting his face return to normal, Ren moved to follow after the new student.
Stepping out of the dojo, the blonde found Elke was... back to the same cheerful attitude? Now he was really confused. This girl seemed pretty nice, but damn if he had a hard time keeping up with the apparent mood swings. Oh well... he hadn't met a person in the class so far that could be considered totally normal... whatever normal was anyway. He shrugged and decided just to go with it for now, doing his best to hold up his end of the bargain. "T-That's right. I usually prefer to make my own food, but the cafeteria here is pretty good, and all of the food is made fresh. Probably not too many lines at this time of day either. From here, we just go along that path back into the main building and follow the signs." He gestured ahead before starting to move toward the edge of the practice field. It was a relatively short walk, and within a few minutes they'd make it to the entrance of the cafeteria for what promised to be an eventful meal.
