Chiura stared up at the massive, plate glass facade of her future with wide, unbelieving eyes. She could hardly believe it; here she stood, on the precipice of her longtime goal's realization. U.A. High was, quite literally, a few lengths in front of her, beyond the great gate that was designed to hold out unwanted visitors and inquiring, intrepid members of the press. Members of the press, she thought! How bonkers was that? The students who went here carried enough prestige in their names and deeds to attract media attention, to the point where the school and its staff had to take active steps to thwart their endeavors. Chiura's heart raced. You don't belong here. You're not like that -- like them. The thought leap into her mind like an unwanted pest sneaking into the family gardens. Her smile of wonderment faded into something far more akin to a look of sheer panic and terror. What was she doing here? She was easily one of the least impressive candidates for the school, in her own mind; and yet here she was -- not only had she gotten in, but she'd done so via transfer application, where scrutiny was even more strict. Had there been some sort of mistake? Had some mishap landed her application in the acceptance pile via administrative error? Was she going to walk inside, only to be turned away at the door? She shuddered, hands slapping gently against her scale-covered cheeks in an attempt to dispel her own inwardly-directed cruelty. If her mother were here, she would have told Chiura to believe in herself. She had always been cheesy and optimistic like that -- and Chiura had appreciated it. The world wasn't exactly an easy place for optimists these days. She clutched her backpack more tightly around her shoulders and took a moment to straighten her bright red tie and green pleated skirt. She remembered being surprised that they even had a uniform that fit her; she usually had to make and sew her own. Chiura took a deep, centering breath before she slithered up to the gate -- and past the threshold. She was supposed to meet someone here -- a guide of some sort that would show her around the facilities. But where were they...? Riku Sakamaki

Alright.
This was probably getting really old really quick. AGAIN against the same tree which he had been posted against previously, Riku was once more leaned up against the hard wood as he had been designated to guide the new transfer student. Like before, he had naturally volunteered for the position, but dang! They sure were getting a whole bunch of transfers into the class lately weren't they? Not that it was any of his concern to be honest, but again like before. Riku wanted first pickings at the person so that he could convince them to perhaps see that having him as an ally would be quite beneficial to their school like ultimately!~ Or so he liked to think! But yeah, just like before, Riku had volunteered to show the newcomer around and also deliver them the necessary documents they needed to get around the campus. BUT!!!!!!Unlike last time... THIS TIME!Riku had different plans for the transfer!~ ... .. . Dressed in a black T-shirt, grey sneakers, and a pair of dark blue denim jeans, Riku was again specified a certain time frame in which the transfer was supposed arrive and wouldn't ya know it, they actually came rather early! Hearing the gates beep open, Riku did just like he did before when he met the previous transfer student. He put his absolute best foot forward while tightening his grip on the girl's welcome package folder!~ "WELCOME TO U.A!~" He yelled merrily as he approached the......wait. What in the world? Was she a girl? Or was she a snake? OH! WAIT WAIT WAIT! Riku had read about something like this! She seemed to be half snake and half human! So....wasn't that a Naga? Or something to that extent? Well regardless what she was that didn't matter! All that mattered was what happened next! "So i'm sure you're tired from your long journey but I've been instructed to guide you around here....and well. The area surrounding the school is included in that. Soooooooooo........"
"We shouldn't waste anytime!~" Riku said rather naturally as he moved past the girl and nodded his head back towards the outside gate from which she came. "Oh! And here's your welcome package!~" Riku added on quickly as he passed the girl her folder. "Inside there is everything you'll need to get around the school! But rather than that what THAT doesn't cover is the general surrounding area! But dontcha worry! I'm here to fill ya in on that!~ You have absolutely nothing to worry about when you're in my capable hands by the way! I'm the best guide in all of 1-A!~"

Chiura nearly jumped out of her scales when the man loosed his clarion greeting call. "OH! H-Hello, there!" She bowed deeply at the waist, forehead horizontal to the ground even as her tail raised her to a rather monstrous height. "My name is Chiura Yutsuko. Thank you for allowing me the chance to participate in this esteemed--
WAIT! Where are you -- OH, DEAR!" This strange nonuniformed boy was quite the firebrand in terms of tour pacing! Chiura stared slack-jawed as her would-be guide passed the folder towards her and continued towards the outskirts of the U.A. facility without so much as breaking stride. Chiura blanched, the blood draining from her face. Was this the famed intensity and pacing that U.A. was known for? Were even the campus tours required to Go Beyond?! Maybe this had been a mistake...
Mistake or not, though, Chiura's peculiar guide didn't seem terribly inclined to dilly-dally. "R-Right! Just -- I'll be right there!" She slithered forwards, her great tail undulating behind her and causing the pleats of her skirt to swish and sway hypnotically. Silently, she cursed the difficulty she faced with her ability to turn around. It was much easier to do when she simply inverted herself through the air, of course -- but that wasn't exactly an advisable maneuver in this particular rendition of the school uniform.
The girl cursed her inability to wear pants as she finally managed to right herself, darting forwards in a desperate attempt to keep pace with the strange dark-haired boy. "T-Thank you for offering to guide me!" she said earnestly. "I -- are you certain we should be starting with the area outside of the school, though?"

There was her greeting. Yup yup! It was very casual! And there was her name. Mhm mhm! Cool cool! Chiura Yutsuko huh? Well he'd log that piece of information away in his memory banks. And then there was her follow up. It was all very very normal! Quite unlike her appearance but that was totally fine with Riku! He'd break the girl in right quick! She did however seem a bit surprised with his proposal. Moving past her, the girl seemed a bit flustered that he was starting with something that was likely a bit different than expected but she TOTALLY didn't need to worry! She was good in hands! She was in Riku's hands. And let me tell ya! Those were the absolute BEST hands to be in!~ The girl however eventually seemed to gather her senses and maneuver herself to follow him. Riku who was just about to pass out the gates didn't slow in his stride as he heard the girl behind him slither in trail. His curiosity had been tempting him to take a glance back at her just to make sure she had been following her yet didn't have to as the girl announced she 'would be right there'. ...
..
.
Perfect.
.
..
...
And now was the time to enact the next step of his plan. Glancing out the corner of his eye as the girl pulled up along side him, Riku put on his friendliest smile as he let out a rather lighthearted chuckle. "No no. It's no trouble at all.....Yutsuko-san!~" Riku said rather energetically as he beamed a bright aura towards her. "I do enjoy helping others so, if anything, the pleasure is all mine!~" "Besides!" Riku added on as he guided the both of them down the streets. "Meeting new students is always the best! They're just always so interesting ya know! But yeah! Starting outside here is the best! Because! What better way to learn about U.A. than to start from the beginning! And the beginning DEFINITELY includes the surrounding areas! So as your guide it's my responsibility to show you EVERYTHING! Though....um. I've never quite guided a transfer quite like um....yourself." Riku said with a small laugh before his expression grew somewhat serious and he grew quiet for a moment. It was clear the boy was thinking about something for a second the energy he had exhibited previously seemed to disappear. The moment would only last for a few seconds however as he seemed to reach an answer for whatever he had been pondering and he began to once again speak. So um... I want to be totally honest with you for a second here...." Riku began slowly as he started to carefully choose each and every word that he used next. His body language also seemed to change slightly from the super upbeat vibe he'd been carrying along to one that a bit more....nervous. "I didn't expect to see someone quite like um.....you today." Riku said a bit quieter towards the girl as he cast his eyes slightly away from the girl. "You we're definitely a bit more.........ummm...."
.
..
...
"Different...."
...
..
.
"...Than I imagined....."
Riku said as his eyes took a few quick glances at the girl.
.
..
...
"I honestly didn't expect you to be so cute." Now. You might be asking yourself... WHAT IS RIKU DOING!? Well. All you need to know is.

Oookay. This gentleman was certainly a rambunctious ball of scholastic energy, wasn't he? It was all that Chiura could do to keep up with the excitable Riku -- either physically or conversationally. "Well! I suppose that makes some amount of sense," she said, her voice quavering as she trailed along. "I'm glad you're excited to meet me. I'm -- I'm excited to meet you all, as well! Though I admit it's all rather intimidating... I mean. You're all HEROES! Or, close to it at least."
In truth, meeting the students of U.A. was an experience equal parts humbling and baffling. They seemed, all at once, impossibly normal and improbably exceptional. How could Chiura ever hope to measure up?
The pace slowed slightly, much to Chiura's relief -- though with it came a change in the conversation. Her cheeks flushed bright red. Different. Even here? Even the place where the different could be exceptional? Fear and panic rose in her throat and clouded her vision --
But there was more. "C-Cute?!" Chiura stopped in her tracks, leaning forwards and peering intently at the boy. "Are you sure you don't mean -- I don't know. Frightening? Horrifying? Not safe around children and small pets?"

Nodding casually as the girl started to remark to his earlier words Riku didn't feel much from hearing her gush at her love heroes. He simply nodded along with her until she suddenly seemed to react to his final sentence. The sentence where he called her cute. It wasn't one where he thought it would cause her to react in the manner that it did but when she did. But when did, Riku could only say one thing about how she moved and confronted him. ...
..
.
SCARY!!!! .
..
... Is what Riku wanted to scream as the girl seemed to doubt his words. Normally Riku was as cool as cucumber, but seeing that the girl in front of him was less um....human than normal kind of weighed heavily on his mind. From what little Riku knew about snakes, the guy DID understand that they were nothing to trifle with. Snakes of much smaller size could coil themselves around much larger prey and squeeze the very life out of them. It really was ironic because Riku sort of felt that the girl was presently trying to do that mentally to him. Her questioning eyes that gazed towards him and her looming body in the background did little assuage his fears but he being that he was who he was, Riku's anxiety culminated into exactly one single thing. A small sweat drop that began to bead from the top of his forehead. It wasn't much, yet given that he never lost his cool it was plenty. Hopefully the girl wasn't quite THAT observant however as he Riku let out a lighthearted laugh and flashed the girl a rather bright smile. "Frightening?"
"Horrifying?" "Not safe around small pets?" Riku mimicked for a second as he repeated her own words before casually brushing away the small sweat drop from his forehead and moving said hand through his hair. "I said what I said because meant what I said. But you really shouldn't take my superficial statements too seriously to be honest! I just thought you were cute and wanted to tell you that you were cute! That's all!" Riku said with a small laugh as he continued to march ahead. "ANYWHO!" Riku suddenly announced as he stopped in his tracks. "This location is VERY important! Especially for you! This spot here has the best restaurants! HANDS DOWN!" Riku said as he spread his arms out wide. "Though uh....I guess...hmmm.....usually I wouldn't ask this, but um. What sorts of foods do you like? I mean? I guess this sounds kind of bad to ask........but um. I wasn't sure if your tastes coincide with what I would expect. I don't mean any offense though! I just um...I've truthfully never had to escort someone like you around. Hopefully that's not offensive?" Riku asked the girl timidly as his nervous eyes were afraid to meet her own. "So hopefully...."
"If you don't mind me asking...."
"Is it bad to ask this?" Given that he wasn't the ABSOLUTE best with dealing with people with mutations, Riku had literally no idea how he was supposed to handle her. Emitter quirk users? Easy peasy. Transformation quirkers? No problem! But mutation? Well. Normally, Riku would have said that it posed no problem but the girl's quirk was so umm...different that Riku wasn't sure if it affected her sense of self. If she was just a girl with a snake body, then cool! He could handle that! But how was he supposed to know that from initially meeting the girl!? Like, he suspected as much, but the girl might have just been acting polite around him. Which was why Riku REALLY wanted to know how he needed to treat her. Understanding both the wants and needs of the girl was critical after all! If he understood that, then everything after that would be easy ya know?~~~ Oh yeah. The rest would DEFINITELY be easy!~

In most things, Chiura was dispossessed of a certain naivete. Snap judgments, though, were well within her wheelhouse; she had become well-acquainted indeed with the subtle nuances of thinly veiled fear. To Riku's credit, he hid it well -- but Chiura's eyes were fast to dart towards that bead of sweat. The girl wilted visibly.
"I -- well, thank you, then," she said, quietly shrinking back and away from the uniformed boy. She really shouldn't have been so surprised. He was, at least, trying to be nice -- despite his apparent anxiety. Still, the girl had hoped for something more from U.A. students. Perhaps that was foolish; maybe she would be a misfit, even here.
Luckily for Chiura's mood (and any latent tension between the pair), the next topic of conversation was much more towards Chiura's liking. Restaurants! "Oh! Goodness, that's exciting. There are so many options!" She smiled broadly, glancing this way and that as she tried to memorize the various eating establishments.
The boy, though, continued to babble on as she surveyed the options -- he was downright nervous, now, it seemed. Hopefully that's not offensive, he said. It wasn't, really. It wasn't even all that irritating -- at least, not as irritating as the boy's unwillingness to meet her gaze, now. Had she really given off such a worrisome first impression?
"Erm. Well -- no, you're quite fine," she said, slowly. "I eat all sorts of things, I guess. I am partial to bite-sized things; my fangs make it hard to chew without biting my lips or tongue, and then if I'm not careful I end up poisoning myself like a moron..." She chuckled. "Anywho, aside from that I eat pretty much everything! I am -very- fond of meat, I guess. Veggies are alright, too, though. And I love spicy foods!"
