Well, to say that this figure wasn't distinct would be a complete lie. This 5'5 male seems to carry a rather lightweight build about him and seems incredibly well-kept in regards to physical appearance and health, perhaps even going as far to be called blessed by youth when it comes to his appearance. His most notable features would be plain as day, that being the avian features that compose a good majority of his body; mostly consisting of the talon-like feet and shins and the clawed hands and feathered forearms, all finished off with a rather fancy tail that droops from his back. Beyond the blackened coloration of the avian additions to his body, his skin tone is Caucasian in nature, a tan suggesting that he has spent a lot of time out in the sun. His eyes, should they be on display, are a clearly radiating cyan, typically carrying a kind, warm expression-- When he's not fighting crime, obviously.
PERSONALITY
LIKES SurfingIce Cream Music Action Movies | DISLIKES Abstract ArtIsolationism Deep Underground Cats |
RUMOR/SECRET: | Despite everything, they say that the bird never truly left the nest. |
Riley is equal to that child who watched all the good Cop action movies whilst he was growing up and memorized all the one-liner's and used to play pretend that he was as good at the actors pulling those stunts-- Only now he's Twenty Six and in that limbo between being a full adult and an immature brat. Sure, when he's on the job and the situation requires him to be serious? He's a cool, calm and collected individual who focuses on the task at hand in order to get what needs to be done at that given moment without bringing himself to harm or foolish error. Against a nemesis or if he knows that the odds are stacked in his favor? He's not one to forego a quip or one-liner to really rub salt into the wound or goad his opponent into doing something that may play right into his trap.
When Riley's not out doing vigilante things, however, the bird-man's more playful and active side comes out to play. A socialite at heart with the wealthy and the common people alike, finding pleasure in all manners of social circles; preferring to take a one-on-one to maximum small groups when it comes to gatherings and the like. Suffice to say, his love of action films and video games hasn't left him since he were a child, even if with his 'employment' his time to enjoy them has become severely limited. Perhaps merely a bi-product of his inheritance but his weaknesses include flashy, shiny things or things that just generally look nice.
There are, of course, times where his personality can and will change thanks to the past. A coin will be flipped at particular instances and depending on the results, the socialite Riley or the stone cold avenging spirit comes out to play.

BACKGROUND HISTORY
PLACE OF BIRTH/HOMETOWN: | Geneva, Switzerland |

To begin the story of the Von Vogel family would be to look into the lifetime of that which came before. Erwin Von Vogel and Liza Thompson, business rivals turned married couple that had come to be thanks to European corporate deals and the partnership and merger of two companies into a much larger titan within the realms of the global market, had worked hard for years-- Whilst they had reached the very top, their lucky break, their lives had not always been easy. It would have been a lie to say that their climb up the rungs of industry hadn't exactly been clean; more so a bloody slog through corporate inter-politics and the trial and tribulations that came with trying to reach the very top of a relatively cutthroat business within their sector but-- Where many had tried to climb the ladder and fallen because of it or remained stuck in their climb; through acts of office intrigue and slight-of-hand power plays, the two individuals had reached the very tops of their respective companies. All it took was a chance meeting one fine night, a few drinks and the deed was done. A wedding and the following merger of their two companies; the Von Vogel family appeared to have it all bar one thing...
...Yet, no doubt thanks to the love shared behind closed doors after many years of company management and combining resources and manpower to become a industrial powerhouse within the reaches of Germany and Switzerland, soon Liza had fallen pregnant. The now millionaire worth family had a child on the way, who would later become known as the newest addition to the fold; Riley, he would be called, a suggestion that had come from vacation to the United States one fine year to visit Liza's parents. With all falling into place and with a sizable income now at the family's disposal, it was the wishes of Erwin to move elsewhere in the world; a home built from scratch and out of the way to where they could live comfortably without the claustrophobic conditions and near-inescapable call to work whilst living in the local area. A rather bold move by the Von Vogel family but after a trade deal organized with the United States, the family soon brought a sizable plot of land on the island of Hawaii and thus began building their family home and legacy. This was, for the most part, Riley's upbringing; the teachings of business and just how far his parents had come, the introduction to powerful and influential people within the realms of adulthood but, at the same time? The simplicity and lower living standards of the locals of the island he now called home.
Yet even with their lower standards of living, they appeared just as happy. Sure, they did not have massive televisions in every room and the same level of expenses and grandeur as the residence of the Von Vogels radiated but, they seemed happy. Home schooled seemed to fit Riley just fine, spending the days where his parents weren't busy or teaching him the ways of the world, Riley interacted with the world outside of his home-- Being the young, impressionable type and one with connections to such a wealthy and influential family in their chosen circles, it was bound to draw some attention. Hawaii had always been a quiet place where not much happened, at least in the eyes of many. To some, that presented some opportunity.
Like Japan's very own Yakuza.
A mid-way point for their smuggling operations, Hawaii was a frequent spot for Yakuza who blended into the population-- Unfortunately for Riley and his parents, they had a much harder time integrating in this regard. Still, it was perhaps fate that Riley soon fell in contact with a group of local boys who were under the the payroll of the Yakuza. It was no surprise then that when the next scheduled exchange or meetup was to take place, the boy was to be inducted as part of a vile scheme. Such innocence and trusting nature of a young child was something that, even if it had been morally ambiguous and against the code, the potential of robbing a millionaire family and taking the spoils was far too tempting a treasure for most men. Suffice to say, it was not an easy plan; the family estate had been built with some serious security and protection instated within the foundations and on the grounds themselves. Whilst the team of professional criminals certainly had the skills needed to break onto the estate and go about their thieving, it was the trust built up with the youngest addition to the Von Vogel family over the period of several weeks. Silver tongued words and the play upon a child's innocence was all that was needed to be given more or less front keys straight into the jackpot.
That trust would soon be broken.
Naturally, a name with as much pride as Von Vogel was not simply going to give up their prized possessions without a fight. In the ensuing struggle, so came the tragedy of the murder of Erwin Von Vogel. The intruders were intercepted by security soon after and sent fleeing into the cover of night but alas, it was too late. With Liza away on a business trip, she returned to her dead husband and mourned alongside her son. After the grief and mourning that followed, Riley soon was able to access the inheritance that his father had left him; a sizable amount of money that would see to it that his son could live out the rest of his life in reasonable comfort, as well as whatever family he sought to raise.
And so this becomes the turning point and a point to which several years passed-- For what had been his father's dying wish would soon become nothing more than words upon a sheet of paper. Distraught that he had been betrayed and lied to by the Yakuza and how they had brought suffering to their family over very much nothing at all? Just the fact that they were wealthy? It did not matter if the group that had done the deed had gone against any sort of creed or rules of their organization-- To Riley, in his stewing mindset which was not aided by the failing mental health of his mother, someone had to answer for the injustice that had been done to him.
People have gone to far greater lengths for love, after all... And to Riley, family was the most important lesson and thing to uphold.
Some say that the Yakuza has been running under a spell of bad luck as of late; a thorn in the side within their smaller side of operations across the country. Shipments being trashed, runners being killed, important figures found in rather embarrassing positions as marks of humiliation. Some say that the organization has a new contender on the block and others say that Heroes are finally cracking down on organized crime but-- No. From the shadows? A man clad in armor, carrying a sword stalks like a bird of prey, watching those he seeks and waiting for the correct opportunity to strike. It all started when a ship carrying a rather notable figure to the mainland. A wealthy man carrying a bloodied yet titanic name.
And that name was Von Vogel.

THE ARMORY
Casual attire: A wardrobe of various casual and smart clothing. Can be mixed and matched for extra style.
Armor: In addition to his casual attire, Riley has an advanced suit of armor which assists him in performing his dirty acts of retribution. Whilst the armor itself is graded NIJ Level IV Body Armor (meaning that the armor can safely protect against one or two armor-piercing rounds, situational circumstances depending), the main features consist of a closed-respiratory system, Heads Up Display and low-light vision mounted helmet as well as force-softening exoskeleton style leg supports to assist with long drops down, considering his quirk's weakness.
Sword: A finely crafted Samurai sword that was clearly made for modern era utilizing modern materials and craftsmanship for a sturdy yet signature blade. Unsurprisingly valuable.
H&K USP .45: An iconic firearm designed and manufactured in Germany by Heckler and Koch. A semi-automatic pistol firing .45 ACP with a magazine capacity of twelve rounds. Equipped with a likely highly illegal suppressor (As if having a handgun on hand wasn't illegal enough) and is kept within its own tactical holster. Comes with three magazines in addition to one already loaded.
Common Utilities: Phone, Wallet, PDA, Money, you get the idea.

QUIRK & SKILLS
VOGEL
TYPE: Mutation
RANK/LEVEL: D
SUMMARY:
Vogel is, put simply, a mutation quirk that essentially leaves members of the Von Vogel family with a half-avian appearance. Whist this is a mostly cosmetic quirk, the offered mutations do bring several perks, some which are mostly passive abilities whilst others provide minor advantages in certain situations or parameters. His feathers provide warmth and a passive layer of protection against the elements; such as snow or rain. Furthermore, his overall skeleton is much more lightweight and flexible allowing him to be much more nimble and agile when required. In regards to his clawed hands and feet, the talons themselves are able to be hardened or softened should an action require a more sensitive touch or if a backup weapon is required; their durability and sharpness at maximum being equal a forged blade to the durability of composite metal, level permitting. His speed is also notably higher than most, being able to run at a top speed of 50 km/h.
WEAKNESSES/LIMITATIONS:
Being part avian biology, his lightweight skeleton thanks to the lessened density ensures that breakages and fractures will occur at a much more frequent rate thanks to less force needing application to occur; this builds onto the effect that his reliance on agility and speed is much more vital to avoid being pushed into a test of physical strength. His vision in low-light conditions without it being assisted is quite frankly poor and in addition whilst those feathers are a nice touch; setting fire to them makes it particularly difficult to put out considering he can't just pull his feathers out. In regards to his personality, his clear feelings towards the Yakuza and their transgressions towards his family have set him on a path that will likely result in either him dying or the Yakuza being brought down unless some extremely heavy convincing and key parameters are met.
Shiny things too, birds love shiny things after all.

IMMIGRANT
RANK/LEVEL: E
SUMMARY:
Riley's spent several years before he went to Japan preparing himself for the mission he was about to undertake. In order to fully slot himself into the culture of Japan and the people that lived there, he undertook Japanese lessons to understand the language as best as possible in both spoken and written form. Of course, having done so in a simulated environment, he isn't exactly fluent in the local language, at least not yet.
SILENT ASSASSIN
RANK/LEVEL: D
SUMMARY:
Riley's quest for vengeance has ensured that in order to obtain his goals, his skill must not be only with the sword but with fire as well; specifically gunpowder. Having spent some significant time training with firearms handling, it is safe to say that in the heat of a firefight Riley is capable of handling himself and utilizing a firearm with some degree of success. He's no Django, he's no John Wick neither but he'll certainly hold his own when facing down common thugs.
STREET SAMURAI
RANK/LEVEL: C
SUMMARY:
Riley's quest for vengeance has ensured that in order to obtain his goals, his skill must not be only with fire but also the sword; much more refined than his skills with a firearm, Riley is extremely capable with a sword, having spent several years not only learning how to properly handle a blade but familiarizing himself with various styles and techniques of sword-fighting in order to have a distinct advantage over his opponents. He's far from a master but as it stands? He'd give Bill a run for her money.
