[attr="class","eText"]It wasn’t often Chryssa went out to do… anything, really. She could not stand the bright lights, the loud noises, and the constant interruptions to her thoughts that seemed to happen whenever she left the comfort of her dorm… her dorm… oh, how she missed her dorm already. Comfortable, dark, quiet. A place where she could be alone with her thoughts and books in peace, and act like the NEET she was at heart. Not the most admirable lifestyle, but the one that brought most pleasure to her.[break][break]

Still, there were disadvantages to being lost in thought all alone, and it came in the form of… an alleyway? Blinking, she took stock of the location she was in and quite quickly recognised it as the alleyway she often took as a shortcut to get back to U.A., and subsequently to her dorm. She did not, however, really take it at night. Having grown up in the slums of Greece, she knew that certain places were to be avoided at certain times.[break][break]

But her luck had run out as she felt a hand on her neck and the sight of a white-hot palm, “Hand over the cash or I’ll fry your face, girlie.” Came the gruff voice of her assailant.[break][break]

What a pain.[break][break]

“Very well, let’s not be hasty now…” She said, slowly moving her hand to her pocket and handing over her wallet to him, which he quickly snatched and immediately took off with… straight into a concrete wall.[break][break]

“What the…” He didn’t get to finish his sentence as he heard the sound of the ground shifting behind him, looking back to see what several stone pillars, too thick to be broken down and too close to each other to pass between. He was essentially locked inside a crude, stone jail cell. Another piece of stone came from the wall and punched the wallet out of his hand and into the ground in front of Chryssa, which she calmly picked up and pocketed.[break][break]

“Oy, let me out! I’m gonna-!”[break][break]

“You’re going to wait here while I call police.” Chryssa interrupted him as she fished for her phone inside her pocket. Little did she know, the thief was already being tracked…

    Squabbles with petty criminals were a depressingly common occurrence in Rom's nighttime wanderings. After five years of hero work, he'd become surprisingly adept at identifying the criminal 'types' who roamed at night. They tended to make it pretty obvious that they were up to no good- looking about as though checking for observers, lurking in odd places, or, his personal favorite, throwing their weight around as though whatever they were about to do was very 'cool'. Sometimes, he made a mistake and just found the person he was watching to be exceptionally nervous as they walked the streets, hence the constant glancing around, or the loudmouth to simply be a thuggish individual doing no real harm. But, not tonight. This one, he was certain of.

    He'd left his motorcycle parked on a side street, following the man from a distance, keeping to the shadows. As soon as he made a move, it was Rom's plan to take him out swiftly and without much fuss. As close as they were to his alma mater, he was surprised that someone would be causing trouble here. But, he'd rarely found a smart criminal. Those usually earned the name 'villain', and rose to a category all their own. He glanced down the street, in the direction of UA, the place that had turned him into what he was now. He had fond memories of the school, and some that weren't so fond. Mostly, he remembered her when he thought of his beginnings, and he truly preferred not to.

    Giving his head a small shake, sending his long hair shifting against the black of his coat in stark contrast of color. No time to reminisce. Catch the thief and move on, there would likely be more to do tonight.

    Up ahead, the thief paused for just a moment and then turned quickly into an alley. Rom's brows drew together as he followed the man, picking up his pace. That wasn't good. He'd spotted something. That was the only explanation for his pause, and whatever it was wouldn't be good. As he came to the mouth of the alley, he heard a female voice, calmly speaking placating words. Shit, some hero he would be if he couldn't stop a mugging. Stepping up to the corner, he had every intention of waylaying the thief at the entrance of the alley. He leaned forward, watching for the man to come barreling out. However, the was stopped when the ground shifted, producing a prison that rather neatly trapped the man. Rom's eyes a bit wide behind his mask.

    Judging by how calmly the girl, a young woman he could just spot on the other side of the newly constructed cage, was speaking, he assumed that this was her quirk in action. Huh.

    Color me impressed...the hero mused, giving the cage another glance.

    That was an effective quirk she had. She'd successfully diffused the situation without doing any harm to the man, safely leaving herself without the liability issues that could so easily arise in these situations. Her mention of calling the police cut his admiration short. He rounded the corner fully, drawing himself up and preparing to present what he called his 'work face'. A charming smile slipped habitually onto his lips even before he spoke.

    "That was a rather neat capture, miss," his voice betrayed his European origins, his accent still present even after many years spent in Japan. His tone was one of polite admiration, "Did he harm you at all?"

[attr="class","eText"]This wasn’t Chryssa’s first time using her Quirk in a live situation where she was at risk of being injured. Growing up in the poorer areas of Greece forced her to defend herself against assailants from time to time, so at this point and with her level of strength, it was a rather run of the mill situation. She did feel that ruffians were a lot more prevalent here in Japan, perhaps because there were so many top-level Quirk users, it naturally invited challenge, which resulted in a lot more of them going around, both for good and bad.[break][break]

She could only furrow her brow at the thought as she finally found her phone in her pocket, typing the emergency phone number… until she heard a voice behind her. Who…?[break][break]

Turning around, she saw a man. Older than her, and dressed in both a hero costume and a particularly charming smile. Interesting how the way a person moved the muscles in their face could evoke a number of feelings from a person, down to the most minute of differences. She put aside those musings for now, and gave him a smile of her own. A pleasant one, if betraying the fact that she was the absent-minded type.[break][break]

“I’m fine, thank you, sir. My Quirk allowed for easy capture, but I didn’t expect a hero to show up. Were you following him?” She asked him, “My name is Chryssa Lazou. It’s nice to meet you.” She introduced herself, extending her hand for him to shake. If her accent didn’t betray her origins, her name certainly did. Greek wasn’t the most common accent in the world, but one would easily notice the European accent she held.[break][break]

The criminal, meanwhile, opted to simply sulk in the stone prison. He’d been caught by this chubby girl and was being followed by a hero to boot. This had to be the worst day of his life…

    At the very least, the supposed damsel in distress seemed capable. If not a bit absent-minded, if that expression was anything to go off of. The main thing was that she was unharmed. He glanced at the captured thief before returning his attention to the young lady. He would put her in her late teens, and with the way she had used her quirk so efficiently...was she a student? UA was close enough that it seemed likely. Her own question put his on pause for a moment. Her accent was European, he knew that much. Another foreigner, then. What were the odds of that?

    "I was following him, but, you made my job rather easy," he chuckled. His smile returned full force as he accepted her hand, politely shaking it, "A pleasure, Ms. Lazou. I am Nightfall."

    As much as he wanted to be polite and give his name in return, that would be unwise. What was the point of keeping one's identity a secret if you were simply going to use your true name anyway? Some heroes had no qualms about letting the world know who they were, but, Rom was too paranoid for that. And he freely admitted it.

    He released the girl's hand, placing his own casually on his hips. He cast the thief another look.

    "We'll be dealing with you in a moment," he said before returning his attention to Chryssa, "As impressed as I am by your ability to handle yourself, I do feel that it's my duty to ask what a young woman is doing in an alley at night. I know that we're near UA, but, as our friend showed, it isn't always safe," his tone was not lecturing, merely gently chiding. Capable or not, a young woman alone was likely to be targeted by any unsavory individuals, and unsavory individuals were more likely to operate under the cover of night. Therefore, it stood to reason that a young woman should avoid wandering alone at night if possible.
