Mission title: Delinquent Control Faction: Hero Student Min. required character rank: D- Assigned by: Pleiades Hero Agency Mission start area: Musutafu Participant number: 3 Details: Two interns from UA High investigated an assault against a citizen. There have been dozens of similar cases, along with dozens of petty theft cases linked to a single name: Akuma. Their group has been earning a name for themselves in recent months. While mostly tied to light vandalism and petty theft, they have also been assaulting people, putting them into the hospital to varying degrees, but never killed anyone. His quirk is unknown, and tends to make his bases in warehouses. Caution is advised, as you are likely to face his grunts. UA students should still be able to do this mission no problem. Capturing Akuma and any second in commands is priority number one. This mission is captured enabled. This mission is PCs VS staff controlled PCs and NPCs Out of character notes: Akuma and Vanish are both C+ while Oni (npc) is C-. Everyone else are no name grunts that you can knock out with ease. Keep this in mind when signing up and RPing. Sign up either by posting or telling me in discord. Participants are below, thread will start no later than one week after last sign up. Participants: Daiki Satou, Ren Wolfe, Teresa Collins VS Akuma, Vanish, Oni [NPC] - Staff Jun GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL! (and thank you for taking part in the first mission of our site ;n;)
(ooc note: Oni/Shouta Kuga will be under Kyou/Akuma.) A trio of students were given the details about Akuma. Something found out just before the UA students got the mission info. was that Akuma was involved in a kidnapping some time ago in Osaka. Still, the three students seem capable enough to handle some delinquents armed with knives at the most. Maybe the occasional baseball bat. The warehouse the demon themed thug was hiding was in a near all abandoned section of warehouses. Only reason they even caught on to the group was due to suspicious power surges. The three were to meet several blocks away from the location. Since the group was mostly active at night, that was when the attack was to occur. They were all given passes to come back long after curfew if it took that long, assuming they all lived in the dorms, and were given full permission to use their quirks. The objective was to capture Akuma and any of their lieutenants. ~Akuma Time~ Kyou walked into the security room to find Asahi and Shouta in their respective costumes/masks looking at the computer screen. They were already in the middle of leaving the location, but something must have happened to be called in like this. Shouta spoke up, his voice modulating to disguise it. "We have company. I'm going through databases to find out who they are. But they're hero students, that's for sure. I'm starting with UA, since they're known for this kind of thing. What should we do?""Send Hina and her group first as a test. Set up the main area for me. The loading dock is Vanish's. You stay here. If they stick together, then we'll fight in the main area, and Vanish can come back me up. Aside from that, Group 1 and 5 can get behind them while they have Hina in front of them, that should buy some time to find out who they are and give appropriate matches. We'll go from there." He still haven't had a challenge. The situation with Hyousuke and Asahi with Sachi and Hina was amusing, but he still never fought there. He hoped this batch wasn't as disappointing as Hyousuke had been. If so, maybe he should mentor some hero wannabe and get them inside UA... ~Grunt Time~ Hina was called Big Beef. Namely due to the fact she was over eight feet tall with huge muscles. And her quirk didn't just include massive strength and size, but also a limited regeneration. But that was more conscious and VERY hard on her. Her and her five person group walked towards where there were intruders. From behind those intruders were two other groups, one consisting of eight people, and the other of seven people, they aimed to surround the group. And pummel them.

[attr="class","sinner"] [attr="class","sinner1"] [attr="class","sinback"] [attr="class","sinnert"] It was an interesting event to say the least. When he had been searching for a means to propel himself further in his academics post-Nidhogg, a Hero Agency had seemingly picked him up. Which was great- amazing, considering the benefit an actual on the field coop experience had to a persons career and personal development. Though it goes without saying that abuse or miss the chance and it could all go South. The weight and pressure of the prospect that failing miserably here could damage his reputation, make his teachers see him as someone who needed additional schooling, and the outside world seeing him as unavailable for presented opportunities. While many of those things were those which could be lived without, they were essential to actually getting your foot into the world of Heroes. If you didn't do it in first year, or second year. The opportunity should present itself in third year. If you fail even then, it is unlikely a student even is able to take their final exams and if they are, their lack of performance shows that they might not be as capable as they hoped they were. It was a lot to keep in mind during this, and that's why going in he chose not to keep it in mind. Since this right here had nothing to do with reputation future and past, this was the first opportunity to enact Justice. To help everyone by handling this situation. He'd been given the courtesy for one of 1-A's students to open up to him. Suzuki Isamu, telling him more about Akuma than intelligence could likely acquire without having a personal stake in all of this. For that he was honestly appreciative. Where he would be cautious still, the information had him place extra caution in this based on the intel provided. Still, he had yet to actually make it to the meeting point. Since there was nobodies life at stake as far as he knew, there was a question if getting there earlier than the others was wise. After all, if he was there alone who knows what trick the enemy might try to pull if they were aware of their rendezvous point. It'd likely be better to intercept them a short point away a little earlier. Given the most sensible route of approach and considering the fact he was in a joint operation with Teresa and Ren, he figured the direct route would have him intercept Teresa at least. While very robotic in her beliefs, Kings Might as a quirk name says it all, she probably didn't care too much for sneaking around and trying to be unorthodox. Just do what she does best, is what Daiki figured. Moving partway down the sidewalk from the docks he'd maybe come into contact with the girl, perhaps Ren as well if he was there too. " Heya." He'd approach from the side with a wave, before walking forward with her. They could talk on the way there, and he'd keep his voice on the down-low so there wasn't too much echo. " There's some information that might be useful to you. The target we're after like any Villain when in a corner can be deceptively clever. I'd advise not showing all of your cards at once. Depending on the circumstances that is; and oh, watch your back." The information Isamu had given him was great, but the rest of his team couldn't know anymore than that lest he uproot his friends anonymity. That wasn't in his agenda for today, or ever for that matter. Continuing to approach the scene at that point he'd come to a crossroads deep within the warehouse. The rendezvous point; the place that it would all begin. What this whole operation had culminated to at this point, and where all that mounted pressure was placed. Since even if he'd disregarded it, the fact was it was legitimate concern, and if he failed now how was he truly a Hero? The end result's consequences would be there if he did or didn't think about it now. ' So just do the best you can.' He'd think to himself. It was around that point that the Villains made their presence known. Yet out of all of them he couldn't pick out a face that he'd associate with Akuma, or any of the higher ups for that matter within this gang. There was a singular notable figure out of the bunch of them, at least based on visuals and stance alone. She carried herself with confidence; hell, he could only imagine if she really worked at becoming incredibly strong. A body like that? In another life he might be very impressed. Instead his gaze just shifted from her and behind them to the wave of footsteps clattering over the cement within the docks. Turning out from behind some cargo containers. Some held bats, many had just their fists wrapped in cloth while a few even had knives. Which was interesting, considering a knife is lethal no matter how you look at it. Apparently this Gang had never killed anyone before? He'd take a note to not use that as a crutch. He and everyone with him should genuinely be fighting as if their life was on the line, because it was. Taking a deep breath, he'd speak to his friends. " Three groups, eight, seven and six. We're going to need to break through one of them unless we want to be surrounded on all sides. I'll handle that. I trust you two." He'd say, leaving instructions out of it. He'd already given them some obscure information on Akuma prior. He genuinely trusted the both of them, so he was reassured that they'd at least not be too reckless without thought. Right now he had himself to worry about. Being approached on three different sides. Depending on the distribution of the three students, groups would relocate to handle isolated targets. He needed to accept that targetting any group left the possibility of the neighboring one coming forward to try and handle the single person. He did, without any sort of apprehension. Taking a deep breath his chest puffed up for a moment. His stance grew prouder, his head held high. Then he burst into a flow of speed. A green trail in his wake, sparks flying from his body and dancing between his limbs. Truthfully he wondered if this was Ren's first time seeing his quirk in action. He knew it was Teresa's first time seeing it. Either way, he rushed forward towards the collective of eight goons. Fast enough to just barely be tracked by the naked eye. Shouting as he came in for the first crashing impact, " Your Villainy will be put to an end!" With that, the first individual to meet with his fist was ejected from the group. Connecting with his gut and lifting him up, he'd go flying off of the ground, sailing through the air until colliding with a cargo container. Hitting center mass of the shipping crate it bent in ever so slightly but otherwise remained fine. In truth it wasn't everything Daiki had to give, but it was still formidable. Down for the count, the rest of a group as a whole sprung into action. A fist flew towards him to which he'd with an efficient sidestep and green spark, he'd grip the Villains arms and throw them into the ground. A cough as the air was pushed out of their lungs occured as the thug bounced off of the ground limp before coming to an unconscious rest. With the quick first out of the way, a flurry of attacks flew towards him. A bat swing to which he'd hop backwards, a slash with a knife that had him do the same thing. He just seemed to be pulling back, as the frequency of attacks made getting in there difficult. Finally there was a break in the storm however, and he'd dash forward and punch one of the thugs. Sending him hurtling out from the majority of the group the figure would barely recover before he was uppercut in the chin. Sent a total of six or so meters into the air, Daiki leaped up and send a kick into the thugs side to send him crashing towards the rest of the group. Unconscious, the thug sent the rest of the group into disarray, giving him a future moment to capitalize on that. Three down, five to go on his end. And yet against all these odds. Outnumbered with excessive pressure. The upcoming Hero had but one thing on his face. A smile, a fierce glint to his eyes and a confidence to his stance. Was that genuine? It couldn't be. Ren flexed his hand as he looked down at the metallic coating that clung to the limb. He definitely still wasn't used to this thing yet, it was like wearing a whole other layer of skin. Not exactly uncomfortable, quite the opposite actually as it had shrugged off the uncomfortable heat earlier in the day, but it was still an odd sensation none-the-less. He was dressed in a blue parka jacket over a gray t-shirt and a pair of worn jeans, with the usual yellow scarf around his neck. Hiding beneath the decidedly normal clothes however, was a form-fitting gray body suit, it's surface covered with various bit of supportive padding and even a bit of light armor plating. It was the result of a trip to the third years support lab and an effort to get his quirk under control a bit more... something that he really needed to tackle if he was going to get stronger.
And that's really what all this was about. If there was one thing in particular that stuck with him from the attack on UA, it was the feeling he'd had when he opened up the door to the theater and found his friends battered and beaten. The fear, the weakness, the utter helplessness he'd felt at that one moment was something he'd endeavor to never experience again. And so ever since he recovered from his injuries, he had been pushing himself harder in both his training and his studies, even getting a harsh talking to from Sato-sensei after over-reaching in the simulator. From what he could tell, he was making improvements and at least taking a step in the right direction with his efforts, even if the road ahead was a long one. Of course there was the mounting fatigue from trying to do all this while still working his job, but he wasn't at his breaking point yet.
When he had first been approached by the Pleiades Hero Agency, Some part of Ren figured that they'd done so because of his name, or because of that silly class ranking system, but when he had accepted the offer, he wasn't thinking of his image or any sort of future planning. He had seen an opportunity to test himself and figure out just how far he had gotten. If he could do a bit of actual hero work and help out the community at the same time, then so much the better.
Striding along beneath the light of the street lamps, the blonde noticed someone else slightly ahead of him and going in the same direction. It took a moment for him to recognize them, but once he did he called out and picked up his pace to catch up. Teresa Collins, one of his classmates that he hadn't really interacted with before, and one of his partners on tonight's mission. The white haired girl was just slightly taller than him and tended to carry around a stuffed bear, but he didn't really know much more about her beside her quirk, which was impressive to say the least. The one thing he did know was that she was very quiet, even more so than he used to be, a fact that was equally impressive in its own way.
"I don't think we've ever actually been properly introduced. Ren Wolff." He extended a hand in greeting, figuring he might as well actually meet the person before they had to trust each other in a fight. That was rather inevitable with their mission being as it was. "Looking forward to working with you. Let's hope things go too sideways tonight, yeah?"
Not long after, their other teammate made himself known, and Ren greeted Daiki with a wave. "'Evening Daiki, you ready for this?" He said with a smile. As much of a wildcard as he appeared during the more mundane parts of their school life, the boy knew what Daiki was really capable of and was rather happy to have him along this time. It made him a bit more confident in their chances at getting through things without too much trouble. As they continued forward to their destination, the other blonde mentioned something about their mission target, though the way he worded it was a bit... odd. It almost seemed like he knew a bit more than he was saying, but Ren shrugged it off. Knowing Daiki, if he was withholding something, there was probably a good reason for it. "So don't go full force right out the gate? Alright, makes sense."
When the trio came to a stop at the crossroads that marked their original meeting point, Ren quickly picked out the sounds of a multitude of footsteps approaching them. A crowd of villains seemed to flow out from behind the various shipping crates and piles of supplies that stretched out before them. Well, 'villains' was probably the wrong word here, they were little more than a band of thugs and delinquents, most roughly the same age as him and his classmates, and they were armed as such. Knives, bats, a few brass knuckles, pipes, things that a kid could pretty easily get their hands on, but no real hardware to speak of. A group of six approached from the front, led by a hulk of a girl, while two other groups moved to cover their flanks and surround them.
His hand instinctively went the Bokuto slung at his waist, grasping the hard wood handle with one hand while the other took hold of the sheath in preparation to draw. But they didn't advance immediately, instead moving to complete their encirclement first. As Daiki shifted toward the largest of the three groups, Ren gave him a nod. "Yeah, go ahead and make a hole, We've got your back." He tapped a button near his neck and a series of metal plates began to unfold around his head, extending upward in small interlocking segments as they completely encased his skull. A hiss of pressurized air signaled that the seal had been completed, and a screen flickered to life in front of his eyes as a single luminous red light lit up in the center of the face plate.
As Daiki took off toward his chosen flank, Ren turned in the opposite direction to face the group of seven. The huge one was more than likely the one in charge of this bunch, a field commander of sorts, but now wasn't the time to face her down. Reaching out a hand toward her, Ren felt the heat ebb from his body as a ten foot wall of ice erupted forth to cover the gap between a pair of cargo containers and close off the corridor she was approaching from. As large as the girl was, thick layers of ice still took quite a bit to smash through. Hoping that would keep her squad out their hair for a little bit, he then returned his full attention to the crowd of seven. The red eye on his visor locked onto them and he took a single step toward them before returning to his draw stance. There was only the slightest of pauses as he took a deep breath and steeled himself for what was about to unfold.
"Well, come on then."
It didn't take long for one of the delinquents to answer his challenge, one of the bat wielders charging forward with the rest of his friends following a second or two later. It was a kid probably a year older than him with messy black hair, a face that hadn't been washed in a day or two, and a look that said he had all the confidence in the world. It was a shame really, but as the kid pulled back the bat to swing, Ren couldn't help but picture the bullies back at his old school, and his golden eyes hardened at the thought. He mentally tracked the kid's steps to measure his stride and waited for the moment... There it was. Just as the bat started to shift forward again, Ren's hand lashed out, ripping the bokuto from its sheath with practiced speed and stepping forth as he drove the wooden edge into his target's abdomen. The boy's eyes went wide as the impact went through him and his breath was suddenly caught short in a surprised gasp. He hit the ground a second later, the bat falling from his grasp, but Ren didn't have time to watch as the next thug was already drawing near. Taking another step forward, he spun to the side and dropped low beneath a wild punch from the next foe. He let his weapon continue its arc while he moved and swung low, catching this one in the ankles and sweeping one of his feet out from under him. As the thug started to topple, Ren rose up and brought his blade down on the falling figure, guaranteeing his journey to the pavement with a hard thwack across the torso.
Those first two went down fast enough but before he knew it, the other five in the group were already in striking distance, forcing Ren to quickly dart backward and get a bit of breathing room. As confident as he was in himself and his allies, he couldn't afford to be cocky here. The battle was just getting started after all, and these were just the grunts.

Post by Teresa Collins on Jul 19, 2019 18:38:30 GMT
When the time came for her to be at the meeting point for the mission, Teresa had been on time but kept herself out of sight for the most part. Don't need to gain the attention of unwanted eyes while she waited for her teammates. This was the first test she had been approached for. She had accepted the mission knowing that it had danger into it. It wasn't like the books and theories she had studied beforehand. This was real and this was going to happen. Standing with her hands folded in front of her like usual, she had her teddy bear in it's backpack form and was dressed in her usual hero attire. It was an all black jacket dress that came to above her knees. She wore short shorts underneath it with thigh-high stockings that were also black. On her feet were brown knee-high boots that laced up. They were heavy duty boots that allowed her to utilize her strength while wearing them and not risk too much damage to them while fighting. On her hands she already pulled on her black leather gloves to protect her hands, hands that had pulled her hair back into it's usual short ponytail with black ribbon holding it back. Over the pulled back hair was strapped the black goggles that she used to protect her eyes from debris when it flew back into her face upon impacts with her body. Her backpack held her usual supplies, her metal retractable bo-staff was tucked into her belt around her hips. It was a simple outfit that was good for her simple quirk. Perhaps in the future she would find better ways to utilize her clothes to suit her quirk.
She didn't have to wait long before Daiki made himself known and they were walking together towards where they needed to be. Teresa appreciated the blonde haired boys enthusiasm since she did not have much of her own to give to the mission. It was simply a task she was asked to do and that was that. What was out of the ordinary for her was to not inform her father of her activities. Lately she had stopped sending emails to her father about her activities. Why did she do so? She wasn't sure, but she and begun to think that some things were best to keep to herself until she could work out what they meant to her. She noticed the other student to come on the mission had arrived as he extended a hand in greeting to Teresa. Ren Wolff. She didn't think she formally met him, but she did remember she had seen him at the training excercise they both went to before this. She shook his hand briefly before returning it to her side. "A pleasure to meet you, Wolff-san, my name is Teresa Collins. I look forward to working with you as well." Her tone was polite and quiet, though the still emotionless speech was still active within it. She listed to Daiki talk about the mission, wondering if there was more to it, but she trusted the two with her that things would be fine and go somewhat smoothly. If she kept her strength in check and kept herself from overdoing it, she wouldn't have to worry about her heart condition.
It wasn't until they have finished speaking that the opponents they were looking for had shown themselves. Teresa assessed the groupings and noticed that they had split themselves. Not uncommon, but she was sure that they needed to work together to break through them. However, as soon as she thought that, Daiki had shot past them after telling them not to overdo it and show all their cards. Her eyes widened a bit at the shock, but then it was also the first time she saw his quirk. Shaking her head, she tightened her gloves as she ran forward to push off the ground hard and flip over the middle group that Ren had challenenged before she landed with her legs bent to take the impact on the ground. The last group left was the large and foreboding female at the head of the group of six people. It wasn't the best option, but she had to keep them busy so that they didn't try to overpower the other two by splitting off. Unlike the other two, she stayed quiet while fighting. Before she could think to stratigize fully, she had been attacked by two of the six people she was facing. They carried bats with them and each tried to take Teresa out with a swing at her legs and head. Gripping her bo-staff tight, she twisted it to pull out the full five foot length to stop both from hitting her. With her hand steady in the middle, Tessa had kicked off the ground to aim a hard and half-powered kick towards the one who aimed for her legs, the kick connecting to them and making them fly back into the crates behind them with a crunch. She wasn't sure if the impact broke bones, but with her strength, she couldn't be too sure. Without much thought put into it, Tessa planted her feet as she lashed out with her staff towards the other one, aiming a hard jab at the person's head, making them crumple to the ground in pain as the strength behind it was not checked and it would cause damage.
Teresa pulled on her goggles just in case the next few impacts would harm her eyesight. This next time it was three that tried to hinder her. Quickly she bent backwards to move out of the way as she did a quick back bend flip. She was dodging until she could get a better opening. Her gymnastics was coming in handy in a fight since it allowed her to move around more fluidly than her usual. Two of them tried to attack her at once but she cartwheeled out of the way and struck at them with her bo-staff, hitting on in the kidney and watch as they sank to the ground before trying to get back up again. Tessa tried her hardest to keep herself from using her strength at full force just yet. She didn't need her body over-extending itself and putting more strain on her heart. The second person that wanted to engage her noticed her hesitation at moving right away and pinned her to the wall with their arm at her throat, trying to cut off her air supply. Teresa gasped at the impact, not expecting it to hurt so much, but it did and it sparked something in her. Anger. An emotion that Teresa hadn't felt in years. Teresa's eyes widened as they flashed with the sudden emotion. Her fist struck out at the person, causing them to stumble back to avoid the hard blow. Once Teresa got free she planted her feet and used more than half her strength to lash out at the person, causing them to hit the wall behind them hard. The body lay motionless, but Teresa did not care about the impact her actions took. The anger in her body flooded it. Emotions were not something she could control, she had to be calm and empty. Empty Doll. The two that were left was the larger female that looked pretty fierce and strong in her own right, and one more grunt. Teresa steadied herself before she engaged the last two. She had to regain control over her emotions again.

Akuma and Oni watched the fight unfold. Akuma groaned though. "I'm always up for a good fight, but this is ridiculous...not good matches at all. The girl's size and physic is not matching at all with the power she's outputting...as powerful as Hina is, this chick is stronger. Even if you consider Hina's regenerative capabilities. And Hina would take a bit to even punch through that ice. Ice boi is a complete counter to Vanish. And that big guy is speed and strength...still not so fast that I can't react to him or anything...but a physical quirk just doesn't do me any good. Got any names yet?"
"Easily enough. Ice boy is Ren Wolfe, the girl is Teresa Collins, and the last one is Daiki Satou. The last of which took down the number four most wanted during the Ashiya incident. Interestingly enough, all of them are in class 1-A. So more than likely they all know Kitten. What's your thoughts on match ups?
"Between the three of us, I think the main area that's already set up for me is the only way I stand a chance against Satou. He's mine. Honestly, I think Vanish is the best bet against that Collins girl. We...don't really have a counter to Ren...but that leaves him with you...we'll try to finish up our matches quickly to assist. But that's also assuming that they're gonna separate. Let's watch a bit longer and see what they do...I think three one on one fights would be better. But reacting to them is best for now. Send word to the other groups to retreat for now. Aside from the one escape route."
Nodding, Oni and Vanish both looked on the laptop screen to watch.
The warehouse that they were staying at was three stories tall, the front third being a maze of offices and meeting rooms. The back two thirds was the main part. With a catwalk up top, and a couple of security rooms and offices up there, the floor had make shift rails with plywood and other makeshift barricades for a semblance of privacy. Though the non-functional conveyor belts and empty shelves helped with that as well. Up towards the roof, there was windows and maintenance routes to open and clean them. The main area was littered with broken glass, nails, rocks, knives, bits of metal cut from sheets, and other such things that Akuma could use as weapons. Both on the floor and on the catwalk. In the back, there was a few doors that went into the loading docks. Which still had an abandoned forklift, and a couple of old, abandoned trucks and trailers. An awful lot of waste really. The ground itself was gravel though.

[attr="class","sinner"] [attr="class","sinner1"] [attr="class","sinback"] [attr="class","sinnert"] " Where do you think you're going, Villains?!" Daiki shouted as the group suddenly turned heel and started to run off. His immediate deduction was either that there was someone within collective sight-line that visually signalled them, or that they all had earpieces. In which case Isamu's words were spot on. This wasn't just some Gang, and if he thought of them that way he'd be setting himself up for failure. Despite these individuals not possessing a lot of individual combat skill, they were all cogs of a machine manually operated by somebody else. And who? He figured it was the one he'd heard so much about. Still, he was fast and had no intentions of letting them all get away. After all he had no doubt in his mind Akuma was reassigning these individuals to a more beneficial position. Maybe to pressure them if and when they confront. They were already fighting in a place they were only briefly briefed on whilst the others had lived there, considering there was none other than Big Beef in terms of notable figures here it was apparent they'd be seeing more numbers or different people the next time they had a confrontation. That posed so many issues, because there's really no limit on the things a Villain could be willing to do. He came here with the intention of sending them to justice, incapacitating and restraining followed by a contact to the police for them to be detained. Yet a Villain may very well if it poses an advantage against someone of higher moral standing, use one of their own people as a hostage in a threat for murder. He just hoped Akuma's apparent history of non-lethal methods still stood true, but he didn't want to rely on that fact. So the objective was clear, handle as much of the smaller threats now. If that was the case while retreating he'd dash after them and unless they had speed quirks, catching up would take merely a moment. Behind them now Daiki reached out two hands towards two of the people, one hand grabbing the back of their collar's each in order to stop them right in their place. Thrashing he'd quickly throw them into one of the cargo containers, the bio-luminescence of his body for the briefest half-second flashing aqua. Was there something he was hiding still? It's certainly not impossible, and with that Akuma had reason for suspicion. After all, his capabilities before didn't seem adequate to knock out the 4th most wanted Villain in a single hit. Even now, would it make the difference? Hard to say, maybe the right angle or the right hit...? But that was merely a flash, the green resuming quickly after he'd performed the throw. Both of the people hit the container and went slack sitting at the base of it. Did he keep going or did he return to the group. He could arguably do both, but he had no certainty on where these people were retreating too. It could be right around the corner, or it could be a half minutes jog away. If he went too far he might end up in a precarious scenario. With three taken out before and two taken out right now, there were merely a couple left. That could make the difference however, and given they're on full retreat it's not like it should be difficult. Though when things don't appear difficult it's the most important time to be aware and alert with this guy. Isamu really was a help with the information he gave. Deciding to finish off the minuscule amount of remaining Villains, or... pseudo-villains all things considered, likely only minor jail-time compared to the head honchos themselves. As if a flickering electrical circuit, aqua flashed over his form once-twice-thrice as he sped up just a little to catch up to the other two fleeing. Sweeping the leg out for one and gripping the back of the others shirt. The first hit the ground and was attempting to recover when the other joined him. Two quick and concise punches knocked both of them out, just a simple hit to quickly get them dreaming. He wondered just when he should contact the authorities in this. When was the appropriate time to get them in to restrain people with handcuffs? Pro Heroes generally had some handcuffs, but even then they usually worked alongside the police. He hoped the Hero Agency had arranged for that sort of things, since in terms of tech he wasn't overly equipped. He didn't really have anything to be frank, but he was hardly one to complain about disadvantages. A person was defined by hardship, not when things were easy for them. If he didn't get anything, it was probably because it couldn't be spared at the time. Straightening his back he'd merely get all of the people he'd knocked out together quickly. They were... Within viewing distance of Ren if he wanted to seal them in with ice; though that could be risky seeing as the temperature could hurt them. If he followed up it would only be a temporary measure. Yet from going after the thugs to make this happen, he was a good two hundred feet from the others, just barely in sight. He'd start to come back but... He could only do so much at once. Backpedaling, Ren sidestepped the swing of a baseball bat from one of his pursuers, parrying a second strike before he found his back to the wall of ice he'd summoned a moment before. Generally not the best thing when you were trying to maintain distance from someone, but this was a special case. As the over eager thug came in for a third swing, the blonde slammed his fist against wall and took hold of the frost. A lance of ice shot out from the surface near his head, quickly shifting into the form of another bokuto while it advanced to intercept the delinquent's attack. The blunted tip found purchase in the center of his chest while he was still mid-swing and the impact stunned him for a split second. Just long enough for Ren to take advantage of the opening and deliver a sharp blow to his foe's forehead.
It was at that moment that the boy saw a shadow pass overhead and the eye on his visor turned upward to track it. It was Teresa. The girl sailed right over him and his wall to the group of foes beyond with ease. Well, his plan had been to cut the third group off while they cleared out the other two, but... Well, the girl didn't seem much like the sort to fall into the traps of recklessness, so he supposed she must have been confident enough that she could deal with them. Either way, he didn't have the luxury of worrying about it for the time being.
The gleaming red light shifted back down just in time to see a flash of metal coming towards it. Ren reflexively ducked down beneath a swipe from a knife then weaved around a follow up stab. The kid was too close for him to make use of his bokuto, and he probably wasn't fast enough to get around the knife anyway since this one seemed to know how to use the weapon he held. No, it was once again a game of staying on the defensive until the right moment presented itself. Bringing up his blade, Ren deflected two quick slashes and dodged a third while his eyes stayed locked firmly on his opponent. Another slash and a follow up, a feint to the left and then a quick thrust from the right. The student reacted to each movement in turn until he saw what he was waiting for; the thug drew back and committed to another stab.
Rather than try to get the range to use his blade properly, Ren stepped in toward his foe's attack. While the thug's weapon began its thrust forward, the blonde's left hand flexed and started to reach out. A shell of frost expanded out from the limb, forming a gauntlet that covered up to his elbow. The newly formed armor swatted the knife aside and broke the thug's guard wide open. Ren took another step in and dropped his shoulder to connect center mass, throwing his weight into the charge and sending the teenager stumbling back. Both hands went back to the hilt of his bokuto and the boy gave chase with a heavy slash that slammed his foe into the side of a cargo container.
Four down, three left. Or so Ren thought. As he prepared himself to face the next thug, he looked up to see the remaining enemies in retreat. And not the sort of panicked retreat you saw in games and movies when the heroes were overpowering their enemies, more like a tactical withdraw. That was odd, he hadn't heard anyone shouting orders, how'd they get the signal? Either way, letting them go seemed like it would only cause complications later, so he had to do something before they got out of his range.
Crouching down, Ren placed one hand on the ground and let a wave of cold pass through his body. A layer of ice extended out in all directions along the surface from the point he touched, quickly spreading to cover the ground between him and the retreating kids. One of them slipped and fell as the slick surface took hold beneath their feet, but the other two crashed right into a wall of shields that suddenly rose up before them. Before they even really understood what had happened, Ren launched himself forward, using his quirk to skate along the ice at high speed and catch up. A moment later his bokuto found the back of one of the thug's heads and he went down. The second turned to face him but hadn't recovered fast enough to defend themselves effectively. He swung low and knocked their feet out from under them, leaving them to face plant on the ice.
Before either of the two left conscious could get back to their feet and continue the fight, Ren gave a small stomp on the ice and once again took hold with his quirk. Outcroppings burst up around the fallen, freezing their hands and feet in place and effectively restraining them, at least for the time being. There were a few shouts and curses thrown his way, but as far as he was concerned, they were dealt with. Now he just had to regroup with his classmates before they moved on. A short distance down the path he could see that Daiki had already finished with his group, so Ren waved him in and started moving down the path Teresa had gone, turning his frozen wall to dust with a snap of his fingers.

Post by Teresa Collins on Aug 17, 2019 20:01:18 GMT
Teresa's anger subsided as her attackers were now on the ground unconscious. The strange feeling of emotion hit something in her, but for now it would be logged in the back of her mind for another time. Breathing heavily, the young white blonde looked around her to see an ice wall that was nearby. She assumed that her teammates were fine since she hadn't heard anything to concern her otherwise. Deftly she handled her metal bo staff with ease as she looked at the last of her attackers in front of her. The person in front of her was a rather large woman and looked to be very strong. Teresa wondered quietly if the woman was stronger than herself. Well, one way to know was to just jump into the fray and see what comes out of it. However, to be honest, Teresa is the last person to just jump into a fight without much thought. She almost overthought to a point, but at least was smart and was strategic with her strength. Due to her having to use it sorta sparingly in battle, Teresa would have to use her brains more than her brawn. Teresa's eyes went back to the cold and calm emotionless gaze she normally had, though this one was edged with a slight annoyance. She wasn't sure why she was annoyed, but the feeling wouldn't go away. Teresa moved a piece of hair behind her ear as she looked at the woman in front of her. It would seem Teresa's size would be to her advantage in this fight. Keeping with her usual quiet stoic nature, she flicked her rod once to extend the metal out into a five foot metal pole. The added leverage would aide her in keeping the woman on her toes.
Without any words, the two came at each other violently. Teresa let loose with about 20% of her strength so she kept with the plan of not letting too much of her ability to be seen. Once the woman swung at her with a heavy bat, Teresa ducked to narrowly avoid it to then push off the ground towards the woman. Despite the woman's slow attack, she wasn't a fool to be taken by Teresa closer to the ground. The woman stomped down hard at Teresa, causing the woman to step very hard upon Teresa's chest. Pain flooded her body as she slammed against the ground. A sharp scream came from the young student. Wincing, Teresa coughed. Her body hurt, but it felt like it only hit one or two ribs judging by how little blood she could taste in her mouth. The woman laughed at her. Teresa could only stare back with distaste as she wiped at her mouth. Pushing off the ground proved a bit hard at first since she was still jostled from the last impact. When Teresa finally got to her feet, she was breathing hard. Her hand pat gingerly along her ribs and winced when she felt a sharp pain. Well, that would mean she would be going to see the school nurse after all was said and done on this mission. The woman didn't give Teresa much time at all to stand still, and swung at her with her large bat again. Now that Teresa's mental state was slightly jostled, anger flooded her mind again. It was a foreign feeling; emotion in general was strange to her to be honest. Without much thought on Teresa's end, the young student reached up to catch the bat and hold it hard. Her grey blue eyes flashed in her anger as she tore away the weapon from the woman. Her right hand held her bo staff tightly, she could feel the metal strain beneath her strength. Her might. The might she was blessed and cursed with at birth.
"Wh-What?! How dare you--!" The woman roared with her own rage, but Teresa didn't give it any thought. She only felt her own anger and just let her body do what it needed to in order to cleanse itself of this violent emotion. Quietly, Teresa caught the woman's fist and both strained against the other's strength. At the last moment when Teresa could get hold of her self just a bit more, she pulled hard at the woman to then smash her leather gloved fist into the woman's face, causing what felt to Teresa like some jaws being broke. The woman screamed, or at least what sounded like a scream, and watched as Teresa descended upon the woman, letting the rage within the young Collins' girl grow. Why did she have to kneel to another's strength? Why did she let herself be weak? Weakness was unacceptable to her father and she did not want to disappoint him further. Her father's words echoed in her head from the last time she had a visit from her father. As rare as they were, they were usually of importance to him as well as her. We do not have weakness within the family; if someone attempts to crush you, you destroy them with your King's Might. Truthfully, with her father wanting his daughter to be a hero to put on a good show for the public and get good PR for the Collins' Group, deep down he was dark and violent and tried to extend that to Teresa on occasions it was just them talking together alone. From the stories the servants would tell her, her mother was the only one who could calm her father down from his calm yet violent tendencies.
With a cold glare unlike anything she has ever shown before, Teresa took advantage of her opponents current preoccupation with their broken jaw and allowed herself to fight rather unfairly towards her opponent. It was not uncommon that Teresa would have training with her father, who also possessed the quirk King's Might. Without letting her opponent get more focused, she stepped up quickly to jump up using the strength in her legs. She slammed down the end of her staff into the ground to boost herself up to do a quick hard kick to further break the jaw and try to fracture some of the skull. Her actions were not logical, as her opponent was already downed by the jaw injury, and she was still bashing the injury further to break her opponent harder. Her grey blue eyes flashed with indifference as she watched the woman fall to the ground and writhe in agony. Teresa breathed hard due to her actions and walked over to the woman's head, lifting it up to look at her dead in the eyes. "I made a mistake in breaking your jaw, now you can't tell me anything...." Her tone was dead, cold, unfeeling and unchanging. "Oh well, at least I can let you sleep." With a flick of her wrist, just barely a movement out of her, Teresa slammed the woman's head into the pavement to knock her out. Was it the best thing to do? Probably not, but she wasn't really thinking right now.
It was at the last possible second of Teresa standing up with her bo staff that she saw a figure moving towards her. It looked to be someone with the gang they were fighting, but she wasn't sure and wasn't about to make assumptions. Whoever it was, she was going to have to wait for them to get closer before she could get the location of one of their targets.

Asahi's eyes narrowed the happenings. They weren't going to last long. And the hero wannabes weren't going to let the groups escape. No matter...Vanish started towards the door. "We can't just let them all come in here...it'll get too crowded...I'll take Teresa on outside...and let Daiki and Ren come here." Barely hearing a good luck from his beloved, Asahi left.
Asahi's costume wasn't much. A plain mask with a little lightning bolt through an eye and holes for the eyes and mouth was all it was. A hoodie jacket covered his hair with its hood, and he wore a white T-shirt, black trousers, and red tennis shoes rounded out the rest. His cell phone was in his back pocket, and he did have a four foot teal tie around his neck. It was actually one of his four carbon binding weapons. Two more were ten feet in length, and wrapped around his arms as bandages, and one wrapped around his torso underneath his shirt that was fifteen feet long. His two high protein shakes were on his belt, as was his lockpick set, not that he'd need the latter. He rushed to the scene.
To find Teresa finishing off Big Beef. Reaching underneath his sleeve, he got ready to launch the bandage looking binding cloth. Once close enough, Vanish would aim for the left ankle, hopefully wrapping it around it. He would then pull on it, and likely drag himself towards her at speed. And right into a ready jump. He would try to entangle her as much as possible. Even if you had strength, if you have no leverage, you can't bring that strength to bear. Sometimes easier said then done.
If the snaring of her ankle failed, he would try to aim for her neck, then pull them closer so that he could hopefully ensnare one of the arms.
It was about that time that the ice wall turned to dust, showing the two others outside. Vanish spoke in his raspy, hoarse voice. "If you don't hurry, Akuma and Oni will vanish once again. You don't want that, now do you? Surely you trust your teammate here to take me down..." It was a ploy. If the three stayed together...then he could do as much damage as possible to them, wear them down before the big fight. Or bide time for his boyfriend and friend to escape...he could easily be thrown under the bus, strings cut and be hung out to dry. Vanish was far more expendable then the other two. They had reputations outside of this...Asahi didn't...and had nothing to lose.

Akuma had wished Vanish good luck. It was a ballsy play...but he knew what the guy was thinking. "Either he'd bide time for us to escape and be thrown under the bus, or keep her busy. Ren's got to go if they go ahead and come after us. If you give me a signal for the optimal time to use my quirk against him, that'd be great. Ready for a little two on two action?"
"Ready as I'll ever be. Let's do this. I'll keep watch on the cell phone...we can leave if they're gonna stay..." Both of them went into the main part of the warehouse. The partitions, the glass, the knives, the screwdrivers, nails, screws, and all the things that made this room Akuma's playground...and the optimal place for his quirk. Oni's was much more basic. And was easily the weakest of the three.
Still, Oni stayed on the catwalk on Akuma's left. Akuma himself stationed himself about four rungs from the bottom. Ready and waiting for the two to arrive. If they even did. Both boys had faith in Vanish being able to beat Teresa...but did those two have faith in her? That would determine their next set of actions.

[attr="class","sinner"] [attr="class","sinner1"] [attr="class","sinback"] [attr="class","sinnert"] And so during his return he saw as the wall dispersed to a sight he could only describe as unfortunate. It was this exact thing that made him want to be Atlas, because Teresa had gone and mashed in this woman's jaw in a seemingly uncharacteristic fit of rage. If that carried on into her actual career, it could threaten more repetitions of the same old story of the heroic villain and the villainous hero. Yet that was already a moment ago in a situation where moments felt like miles. Everything going so fast, it was time to make a decision. Ironically it only made him question further when Vanish gave a choice. It wasn't as if he wasn't going to make a choice anyways, but following one of those two made him feel manipulated. The feeling literally caused him to roll his shoulders to shrug it off. Though if there was a bright side to this situation, it was that Teresa took care of that whole group fairly quickly. If it was that rage that was needed to get her through this confrontation with the Villain known as vanish, that's what it would take right now. Right now it depended on this decision. On one hand if he stayed with Teresa they'd guarantee catching Vanish even if they risked some damage on their side. However they would certainly be letting Oni and Akuma get away, and Akuma is the primary target. Who comes into a job and plans to fail? That's planning to fail, that's accepting not doing the job that needs to be done. Not even in the context of a mission, in the context of heroics as a whole. To not stop Akuma is to not stop the kidnappings he was told about, the thefts and robberies. Surely nobodies died, but many have been hurt because of this gangs action. He's ducked out and started up once already, he'll just do it again if he gets away. This time somewhere different, maybe out of his reach. He couldn't let that happen, and with faith that Teresa would at least hold her ground for long enough against this Villain Daiki nodded towards Ren to start heading towards the warehouse. He'd follow, but not before saying something out towards Teresa. " Your life is in your hands. Only your own willpower can shoot you beyond." He'd say simply, turning to follow Ren. In fact he'd move to take the lead in a brisk jog to which at his pace was about running, unless Ren had some ice-sliding techniques to keep up with a faster pace he'd make do with that. Searching the area deeper in the docks he was looking for any movement, anything. Perhaps a couple of thugs would be dotted here and there and if that was the case they'd be quickly handled, but he was looking for Akuma and his company. He could only suspect based on Vanishes approach to this they were being waited on as well. The words of 'watch your back' from Isamu rung in his head again. He knew that would be integral if he wanted to make it out of this in one piece. Sure enough, moving forward a warehouse would be identified that was a severe suspect of suspicion. Looking inside it was littered with to put it lightly; lots of sharp stuff. Knives, utensils, nails, debris. You name it, it was here. While he didn't draw the connection of what Akuma's quirk could be, he did realize that such a scattered mess- especially the knives and such were suspicious and cause to be very careful. He'd keep an eye on his back as he motioned for Ren. Trying to get a look inside, he'd press both hands against the large door of the warehouse and with his strength start sliding it open. His fingers weren't wrapped around the edge, just the friction and pressure of his palms against the door itself guided it along. He didn't want his fingers anywhere he couldn't see, after all. With that being said the warehouse being fully open allowed him to get a better look inside. Would he see anything? It depends. " Keep your guard up." He'd say, reminding Ren if he'd forgotten. Though he was confident he didn't. Post by Ren Wolff on Aug 19, 2019 4:46:55 GMT
When Ren broke down his wall, he had been expecting to see Teresa engaging that last group of thugs, probably dealing with the hulk of a girl that was leading them into the fight. What actually awaited him was a bit different. His classmate stood over the broken form of the girl, slamming her head into the pavement in a display that almost seemed alien for her. This was someone that he barely saw speak at all most days, and for her to be showing such raw emotion was odd to say the least... but that wasn't the only thing the boy saw. A kid in a mask was there as well, rushing towards her and lashing out with what looked like strips of cloth. Without thinking about it, Ren reflexively reached out and slammed his hand into the cargo container beside him. Frost shot out from his limb and raced along the surface until it was just past Teresa, then exploded outward in a solid column, catching one of the bandages and freezing it in place before it could reach its intended target. He then brought both hands to his blade and was about to jump in to help Teresa when the kid called out to him and Daiki.
The words that Ren heard immediately gave him pause, the red light on his helmet training on the thug even as his body stopped. Now, strategic thought and tactics never were Ren's strong point, but that didn't mean that he was stupid. If this guy had truly been trying to buy time for his allies to escape, he wouldn't have told them about it. No, the only reason he'd have to tell them that was to split the students up... though whether it was to improve his own odds or to give an advantage to those up ahead was up for debate... hell, the answer was probably both. That being said, they couldn't exactly just ignore the warning either. If they did stay to deal with this one, there was every chance that their two primary targets would use the opportunity to get away, which meant...
Ren clicked his tongue in annoyance, knowing full well that he didn't really have a choice after all. He glanced toward Teresa one last time and gave her a nod as he slid his bokuto back into it's sheath. "...You're right, I do trust her to be able to take you down." He said as he started moving again, but as he circled around behind he played one last card, sending out sudden wave of ice across the ground to try and freeze the kid in place, or at the very least distract him for a second and give Teresa an opportunity to strike. "...But that doesn't mean I can't lend a hand before I go." He shouted just before he turned to run down the path. Whether or not the attack had the desired effect, he couldn't waste any more time there.
Chasing after Daiki, Ren used his quirk to form a pair of skates so that he wouldn't be slowing his classmate down, and the two quickly made their way through the docks. Moving down the winding paths, it wasn't long before they found the main warehouse looming over them. There was no other place they could be really, and as Daiki approached to get a closer look, Ren couldn't help but tense up a bit. The reminder from his classmate definitely wasn't necessary here, and the blond responded with a nervous smile that couldn't be seen beneath his suit. The second they stepped through that door, they'd be solidly in the enemy's turf, an environment that they knew well and likely had rigged up in their favor. Far from the most desirable of situations, but one that they'd have to face again and again if they truly wanted to follow the path of heroes.
"...There's no way this isn't a trap." Ren said as Daiki finished pulling the door open. "Let me take the lead." More of a statement than a request, he stepped out ahead of the other blonde and flexed his left arm again. In addition to the metal plates that already armored his new costume, Ren fed more ice into the gauntlet he'd formed earlier and let it spread out across his body, encasing him in a thick layer that took on an appearance similar to platemail. Not a perfect defense by any means, but far better than just waltzing in normally. And so once the armor finished taking shape around him, Ren shifted into a ready stance with his blade and cautiously stepped through the threshold.

So this was what was going to happen? Teresa silently murmured within her own head as she looked at the frozen pillar that had stopped one of the bandages from reaching her. Without thinking it through, she kicked off hard, using her strength to flip herself into a back handspring twice before ducking from the remainder bandage. She did not have super agility, but her strength lent her the ability to be able to use her skills in gymnastics without hindrance. However, at the last moment, she did not step back in time and the bandage did snap at her cheek, causing it to be cut and bleed slightly. The guy in front of her seemed intent on taking Teresa down and letting the others go forward. Her teammates had a choice; leave her and go forward with better chance on catching their target, or stay and fight with her. Personally, Teresa thought it would be better to stay together to remedy the situation, but logic dictated that the mission was priority over her own thoughts on how she would like to do things. Teresa's hands tightened into fists as her team made their decision to leave her be and go on ahead. It's always the same.... A vague thought came and went in her head as she pushed back against the bubble that was forming within her mind. It was a familiar bubble, but one she had long since forsaken for to be not left behind, she had to leave it behind. In order to be needed, she would once again strip away herself to become the living doll still. I stumbled, but I can regain lost ground and destroy it again....
Teresa said nothing to her teammates as they passed her by, her gaze rested solely on the person in front of her. Silently still, her hand went to her heart as it was beating quite fast. She had been holding back thus far, but she knew she couldn't hold back anymore. Blue grey eyes closing for a brief moment, she took a deep breath to push back against the bubble one last time and sever the emotions once more from her mind. Just like before. Just like she had to in order to not be left behind. Her body felt lighter, her mind clearer, she felt....better. Once she opened her eyes, no emotion could be seen within them, no soul remained behind the windows that were so clear. She once again became the living doll. Her hand tightened on the metal bo staff as she stayed standing at a distance. "I seem to have lost my calm with this one..." Very much in a tone that implied nothing and was so monotone and emotionless, it would feel like Teresa was almost forcing herself back on track with her 'normal' persona. Unemotionally she motioned towards the knocked out woman with the broken jaw as if she were merely a poor insect who got in her way. "However, I have regained myself and will not falter again." Never one for much conversation, Teresa waited for her opponent to make the first move. Her father taught her that one must read their target carefully in order to move correctly. This applied for both fights and for business deals. Manipulate your target. Then, when one is good and ready, do not hesitate to take them down. You know, he seems to act very particular, yet Teresa's only desire is to do everything in her power to make his plans a reality. I will not be left behind.

Asahi saw the ice coming and moved his bandage away, only losing an inch of it to the damned ice. But he also cracked her with the bandage across her cheek. That was a little unintentional. Then the ice boy made another move against him. Vanish jumped up and away from the ice, increasing the distance between his primary opponent. Only then was it just the two. Meanwhile, it looked like she was collecting herself. Only to become emotionless. Through the dark slits, his eyes glowed purple as his bloodlust rested solely on her, hopefully startling her or even making her slightly afraid. But he doubted it given her current state. "I wouldn't worry about her...she'll regenerate her jaw once she wakes up." Then the girl focused on him, staff in hand. She was waiting for him. Wrapping what remained of the one bandage, he took off the teal tie and untied it. Only four feet long, but this was going to be close in battle.
Vanish darted towards her. He did a feint to the right, then turned left and slung out the carbon binding cloth. The aim was her own weapon. To force it back to him and drag himself a little bit closer or to give her an idea to try to use it against him. Either way, a dark red, thin tendril emitted from his lower back, flattened and sharp, ready to cut off a limb. Then he would aim to stab at her side. Hopefully with them being sharp, it would discourage her from using her fists...so all he had to do was disarm her.

Akuma and Oni waited, now knowing that they're going to have company soon. And when they did, ice boy seemed to have made a little bit of ice armor. This caused the red masked boy to chuckle, the voice modulator disguising his real voice well. "Sorry to disappoint...but this isn't that kind of trap. You had the right idea though...if we weren't already in the middle of moving. So, are you going to lecture us or fight us?" Akuma was just high enough on the stairs to the catwalk that he could see Ren. The gangster already had two knives out and pointed one of them at the two. If they weren't already in the middle of moving, maybe he would have done something that would have warranted that extra bit of protection.
But it was what it was. And Akuma wasn't going to make the first move. He was going to hope that Daiki would make it first. There wasn't just a straight shot towards Akuma. It was a little bit of a maze, though you could easily move the plywood partitions up like a sideways door to move around and skip places. Only straight shot would be to dive over everything. And if Daiki went after Oni, Akuma could easily intercept.
Oni was ready to move in whichever direction, the distraction. Make himself be the bait. The real issue was if the nails and other stuff was going to go fast enough to pierce that armor when the time arrived...but at least Daiki was unprotected.
