RUMOR/SECRET: | Rumors say that he doesn't eat. Like, at all. |
Amemasu takes things slow and usually doesn't display haste unless if the situation is dire. His silence means that he’s very observant of his surroundings, almost to the point where he is too busy thinking about a person rather than talking to them directly. He smiles a lot when joyful events unfold, and he can’t really hold a neutral face for more than a few seconds. When he blushes, his entire face turns deep-pinkish, and he generally isn’t very good at hiding emotions in a sort of ‘poker-face’. A good, warm hug is often enough to make his day - or even week - even if it’s from a stranger. Given his careful nature, he usually only gets angry in very rare instances; always when a small kid much younger than him is in danger or is mistreated. That’s an instance where he can’t control his anger at all, no matter how calm and friendly he was before. In a way, his sudden switch from friendliness and childish naivety to cunning and unforgiving malice is inhuman and unimaginable.
BACKGROUND HISTORY
PLACE OF BIRTH/HOMETOWN: | Matsumae |
PARENTS: | Kujira Nishimura (Mother) & Ushi Nishimura (Father) |
SIBLINGS: | None |
SIGNIFICANT OTHER: | None |
OTHER: | Yuurin (Little Sister Figure), Kappa (Grandpa) |
Amemasu and his family have lived in Hokkaido for several centuries. From the first few breaths in his life, he was noted to have a mutation that would set his entire life on a roller coaster - a Quirk that gave him a weird feeling to his skin and, more noticeably, pink gills behind his ears and ankles. Albeit his parents being surprised by this, they quickly realized that he had inherited his Quirk from his mother’s father, Grandpa Kappa, who had the fancy Quirk called Axolotl… so that set Amemasu’s life up for quite a long journey to discover the potential of his own powers.
His grandfather was no hero, however… he deemed this Quirk not suitable for patrolling or defending those in need. Nah, it couldn't tear down a wall, and it couldn't heal others. All one could do was survive rather fatal injuries with ease and dive underwater… besides, Grandpa Carvel had been discouraged from the hero career for all of his life by his own parents and friends, and the after-effects latched onto his own grandson, Masu-masu (nickname). So yeah, they dived together and tested out their Quirks by reaching very deep levels of the ocean around Hokkaido, spat water at each other like a sport and usually just fooled around with their powers as much as they could allow themselves while, obviously, keeping those same powers low and at bay when around civilians and other people who likely had Quirks or not. It wasn’t a big thing to have Quirks nowadays, so it only strengthened Grandpa’s decision that they would fare much better as regular civilians with jobs and duties instead of heroes. And yet, Grandpa Kappa couldn’t help but advice his grandson to be helpful in public; to be wary of hooligans, help the elders and the young kids, and to pay respect to strangers.
His life continued like this with daily shenanigans and somewhat improvement as he explored the capabilities that his Quirk gave him from a very young age. However, push wouldn't come to show... until Ace saved a small girl one day, in a way.
A house near the waters of Matsumae was burning down due to an accident. By the time that Amemasu, always remembering his Grandpa’s words to be helpful in public, he called the emergency and suddenly stormed into the burning building as he heard the cries of a young, heartbroken girl. He grabbed her and leapt out of a window into the ocean waters; his body had taken severe damage from the fires that he ignored during his suicidal rescue, but he betted on his ability to regenerate once landing in the water… which didn't work the way he thought it would.
They were both getting stranded by the ocean waters without strength left to stand up. Apart from second-degree burns on his back and arms, Amemasu was fairly out of life-threatening states and healed rapidly... but the girl came out far worse than him as she lost both her vision and her ability to speak properly due to a head injury. She was hospitalized, and ever since then, he visited her at the hospital regularly. She was only 5 years old and the daughter of strangers that Amemasu never got to meet before all of this happened, but he wanted to be like a big brother for her and help heal her wounds. He blamed himself for her injuries despite having saved her life, so perhaps that was also a big... perhaps a bigger reason for his friendliness towards her. His grandfather was glad that he and the girl came out alive, but sorrow also dwelled in him. Amemasu couldn't help that much the way he did so back then, but after an argument, Amemasu made it clear that he needed to be more helpful in society than now. He genuinely admired his Quirk and wanted to make good use of it... like a Hero. Grandpa was reluctant at first, but he thought that, maybe, with his grandpa's help and training, Amemasu would realize Grandpa’s crushed dream… of becoming a somewhat helpful, solid Hero in this society. An even better Hero than he was that one time. In the end, Amemasu was but a brat, and he had a lot to learn from his Grandpa who also used to wish of becoming something greater than he was now. If Amemasu was going to forgive himself for what happened to that girl, then he needed to become a Hero. A true, life-saving Hero...
And that is how Amemasu became the greatest Hero of all- just kidding. Upon starting in UA High, he began pushing himself even further to see just what his Quirk would specialize on - would he be a forward, passionate frontier or a more supportive contributor? He began to learn that he preferred preventing natural disasters above taking down villains. A savior of nature itself... that sounded like his shtick. On top of his activities at UA High, his Grandpa also practiced self-defensive martial arts at home with him and taught him ways to subdue a person with minimal effort and minor brutality.

THE ARMORY
Hero Suit, Hydra & Leviathan - Appearance
These two Suits can alter between each other as one suit that Amemasu wears; the first for when he is above water, and the second for underwater. This suit includes the following support items:
Arm-Supporter
Linear appendages on his arms that function like airbags for his arms. They expand in linear 'bags' whenever he falls heavily on his limb (in this case, arm), thus softening heavy falls on those limbs for a quick moment before deflating, allowing him to move more spontaneously after a fall.
Leg-Supporter
Linear appendages on his legs that function like airbags for his legs. Theycan soften falls on his feet and have the same purpose as aforementioned.
Hook Gauntlet - Appearance
Gauntlet with a linear hook attached to the end for increased maneuver range. The max range that the hook can be shot is 10 meters.
Hound-Ear - Appearance
A scope attached to his left eye. When looking only through his left eye, he can gain a better accuracy with long-range projectiles and his hook gauntlet (in case if he is to shoot through a hole).
Hound-Lens - Appearance
An internal system with its own, saved-up water reserves (a plastic tank on his back) up to 1 liter that can release its water and wet his skin underneath his suit.
Fire-Proof
Kind of needed in situations where Amemasu has to go straight through fires. Inspired by the experience from his incident, his suit has been modified to not be combustible.
Hound-Restrainers, 3x - Appearance
These restrainers are on Amemasu's wrists and around his neck when not used. They can quickly be released and used to bind two wrists together and are as effective as tough handcuffs. He strapped the reflexes on them himself...
Hound-Bottle, 20x - Appearance
Small bottles hidden in pockets on the Hero Suit that Amemasu can take out and pump pressurized water into with help from his extra 'lung' through his mouth. Once when filled with this pressurized 'vapor', he can throw or break it in order to create a mist of freshwater that covers a 15 meter radius area and lasts for 10 seconds before all of the mist lands on the ground and solidifies into water again. This can be used in case if the Hero Suit lacks water to extinguish a small fire, or if the user wants to 'smoke-screen' himself during combat. It requires him to have water reserves in his organ for the vapor to be stored, and he can't use this vapor-effect from his mouth nearly as effective without the bottle to store it in.
Hound-Gun, 20x per water-load - Appearance
This rifle can store pressurized water orbs from Amemasu's organ and shoot them out like compressed water shells that cover 5 meters radius areas per shell. Impactful enough to shoot small craters on logs, but they require all the water from his organ to load (which means that he can load it up three times, one organ plus two lungs).

QUIRK & SKILLS
AXOLOTL
TYPE: Mutant
RANK/LEVEL: C-
SUMMARY:
As the name implies, this quirk lets Amemasu take on the abilities and traits of an axolotl. As a Mutant, his body is altered permanently in minor ways due to this; his skin is softer and also warmer, his body weight is drop-dead low in order to aid him properly underwater and in sea levels with high-pressure (and his gills on his ears, ankles and in his lungs let him breathe underwater too), and his lungs don’t need to worry about getting filled with water as they’re also adapted to do that without directly harming Amemasu. A third 'lung'-like organ behind his spine allows him to store 5 liters of water, and his lungs can store 3 liters each. With the organ, he can literally spray a short jet of water from his mouth towards a target at 30 mph (which he can also use his lungs for, but to a lesser degree with these as they only shoot at 20 mph) with a 2 Posts-Cooldown. This does require that he stores water in these specific organs - lungs and extra 'lung' - in one way or another before facing his target. Whenever he is underwater, skin grows between his fingers and toes to provide with inhuman swimming properties like a true amphibian. He can almost torpedo himself around underwater with ease and swims at max speed of 30 mph. A tad slower than a normal dolphin.
However, his signature ability is his Regeneration trait. Axolotls are already famous for their cellular regeneration processes and can literally regrow cut-off limbs in the matter of months. They can heal and recover completely from any injury that wouldn't outright kill them, and this also applies to Amemasu, but in a much quicker scale; whenever he gets an injury, the cells around the injury transform into stem cells and begin ‘replacing’ the lacking cells composing whatever fraction of the body part that is injured or missing.
Smaller injuries like cuts, gashes, first-degree burns and bruises recover take 1 post to recover,
Moderate injuries like deeper cuts and gashes, second-degree burns, fingers or toes lost would take 2 posts to recover.
Serious injuries like losing limbs and third-degree burns would take 4 posts to recover.
And as long as it is not directly fatal, Amemasu can recover from any injury; however, those who are more serious and nigh fatal will put him in a coma after 3 posts from sustaining said injury.
Even training his muscles happen at a faster pace due to the improved regeneration of the strained muscles.
Due to water being a huge theme for him, Amemasu’s Quirk is at its best when he is submerged underwater. As axolotls live their entire lives underwater, despite being salamanders, this is his homefield. Wounds like explained earlier take -1 post to recover in freshwater only. The regeneration process underwater makes him look like an anime Deadpool.
WEAKNESSES/LIMITATIONS:
The regeneration ability does have its terms; his regeneration process slows down when he's walking on land compared to underwater, and the size of said injury determines the time needed to recover. For instance, if a vital organ is injured like his heart, brain or lungs, then it’d take much longer time to regenerate, and he will still need external life-support to survive at all. Brain injury, albeit a fair chance of surviving that with his Quirk, can still leave him with temporary after-effects like amnesia etc. The recovery from such injuries would last around month or more - and he would be in a total coma during this. In a tube with lots of freshwater, hopefully.
His abilities are the best in a pool with freshwater all around his body, so it doesn't apply to saltwater or any salt-based or heavily impurified dihydrogen monoxide. Lightning-based attacks on him are dangerous as the potency of the currents increase with all the ionized water that Amemasu is in contact with in many occasions. One direct hit on him prevents his cells from being able to regenerate at all for 10 Posts, and due to his bodyweight, bolts of lightning have a much bigger impact on him than other types of attack. Any punch to him is much more severe, due to his bodyweight of only 25 kg. This makes close-combat a pain to go through, and he will have to rely on long-range combat.
The regeneration process takes energy from the nutrients and water that his body contains, so they're obviously worse if he's starving or dehydrated. Regenerating limbs and serious injuries renders him quickly fatigued and exhausted afterwards, but continued training will lower this fatigue.
Even high temperatures such as when surrounded by fire can slow him and his water-salamander powers even further down and even mean fatality for Amemasu as a paused ability renders him much more vulnerable. However, he is still able to quickly recover from burns, unlike lightning-based dangers as mentioned before.

PARKOUR
RANK/LEVEL: C+
SUMMARY:
Amemasu is a very mobile person and has been jumping around ever since he was a toddler. Combined with all his time underwater, he's gotten a very refined awareness of his surroundings and is able to maneuver across objects and obstacles quite quickly. It mostly only requires one arm to swing himself on a pole from point A to point B and to land again, and he's also very accustomed to diving into lakes and/or oceans from high points. He's also very accustomed to ignoring the recoil and pain of falling heavily as his Quirk normally lets him regenerate the wounds overtime. He also finds ease in hanging onto appendages, windows and other objects on vertical surfaces for long amounts of time.
CHEMICAL ALCHEMY
RANK/LEVEL: D
SUMMARY:
Because of how weak that Amemasu is physically, he strives to compensate for his weakness by learning how to brew chemicals and complicated syntheses to then be used to aid him in patrols or battle. He believes that making a bunch of useful fabrics would be the best way to cope for his lack in the physical realm. He's a chemical nerd.
KRAV MAGA
RANK/LEVEL: D+
SUMMARY:
Combining wrestling, jeet kune do, boxing, judo, karate, and other forms of martial arts into a defensive style meant for real-life and real-world situations, Amemasu has also dwelled in Krav Maga that helps him defend himself against threats such as sudden muggers, unwary assaulters or the unbiased wildlife in form of predators and aggressive animals. Its specialty is throwing the targeted opponent to another direction or flinching them in one, easy move, but it's not good to rely on for a K.O. Especially not given Amemasu's bodily conditions.
FIRST AID
RANK/LEVEL: D
SUMMARY:
Amemasu knows that saving lives not always require beating someone up. He is able to patch up minor wounds and tend to unconscious victims for as long as needed. His high lung capacity allows him to blow more oxygen into the non-breathing victim's lungs as a boost to their recovery.
CAPTIVATING
RANK/LEVEL: C
SUMMARY:
Since he's not good at knocking the opponent down with sheer force, Amemasu has worked a lot on his skill in capturing foes quickly, effortlessly and with whatever is in his hands. Whether if he has a couple of handcuffs or some cloth or rope, Amemasu quickly finds a way to restrict his opponent's movement. Often, he doesn't even need a small tool; in combination with his Krav Maga, he has also specialized in subduing with his own arms and using his body or the surroundings to restrict a target's moves.
MARKSMAN
RANK/LEVEL: C
SUMMARY:
Amemasu has spent lots of time practicing his shooting and aiming skills. Whether if it's throwing balls, spitting water, launching stones, swinging boomerangs, handcuffs or using a gun, his Grandpa made sure to train him in how to wield long-range projectiles as his tools. It's mainly due to his desire to spray water upon forestfires, which does require skill and quantity.
