This was it, her first day as a teacher at UA High. Lenna would be lying if she said she did not feel nervous or anxious about it, but it had always been her dream to teach here one day. Heck, to her it still seemed like yesterday she happened to be a student here, walking the same halls, studying, complaining about the homework load. Life had seemed so complicated back then, unfortunately adulthood only ever appeared to make life more complex.
But if she wanted an easy life she would have never decided to become a hero or for that matter a teacher. Yet that was the difference between a hero and someone else, it was not what a hero did, rather who they were deep down inside. A powerful Quirk might get an individual far but sooner or later it came down to the heart, to the soul of the person, their desire to win and achieve victory and become a hero... Or to settle for where they might land in life.
The drive over to UA High had been pleasant, there were no mechanical issues with the car... Gods, that would have been embarrassing to be late on her first day as a creation hero because her car decided now happened to be the perfect time to break down. However her pleasant day was not to last forever, the moment after she parked up and exited her car to start the short walk to the school's ground, the media pounced. Lenna found it to be somewhat frustrating whenever they decided to launch an attack, like sharks surrounding a swimmer. She always seemed to draw them, the media loved her. Whether it was for her attractive looks, winning smile or hell the French accent, she never knew nor truly cared. But there never seemed to be a way to avoid them.
Honestly sometimes she felt like she could set her watch by their appearance. They pestered her with their new favourite rumour, that she was engaged. Just to whom Lenna had absolutely no idea since she was currently single, but the media believed she was engaged and that was that/. There goes any chance at dating anyone for the next few years, not that she happened to be looking anyway.
"Miss Kawaha!" One called out, a tall man in a tacky business suit with the unsettling head of a hammerhead shark. "Miss Kawaha! Is it true you happened to be engaged?" Before she could answer it another dove into her view, a tall woman, stylishly dressed with long curly blonde locks and the deepest blue eyes Lenna had ever seen. "Miss Kawaha, Abigal Kai. Superheroes Today. I hear you are engaged? Who is the mysterious gentleman? How are you finding teaching at UA High?" Another voice, shrill like an angry chimp spoke over them all. "Miss Kawaha, is it true that one of the teacher's proposed to you?" With difficulty, she managed to slip out of the crowd of news hungry vultures. "As I said I am not engaged to anyone. At all, I am single." She held up a hand to reveal a decidedly ringless finger. "Today is my first day of teaching but I am looking forward to it." She hoped that might sate their hunger, but she knew what was going to occur next. "You broke up? Why would anyone get engaged to you then dump you?" Another flood of questions and Lenna finally accepted the futility of answering any more of their questions. Anything she did was simply going to be ignored in favour of the story they wished to send out.
She rapidly beat a retreat to the shelter and sanctuary provided by the school grounds, the protective barriers proving a suitable deterrent to the circling pack of reports. She let out a sigh of relief as she escaped. Another knot of fans dealt with... She wondered what fresh horror would await. Lenna in shock secret engagement? Lenna heartbroken? Hero engaged then dumped? She sighed again, shaking her head, no today was not going to be ruined by thoughts of reports and the rumour of her engagement. Today, she was going to start being a teacher, today was going to be great. Though despite this somewhat positive thought, her nerves got the better of her and she felt more than heard the soft tinkle of a few metal nuts clattering to the ground. She took a deep breath to calm her nerves and quickly scooped them up into her pocket, she made a mental note to eat something iron rich sooner rather than later, before continuing on her way.
