Shin-Osaka, Osaka 5pm xx/xx/2434
After sending this person who claimed to be “Walpurgisnacht” instructions on their meeting place, Aya did a little research on this person they were apparently going to meet. Lots of hits on that name, mostly overseas sites. Some kind of villain group, or something, political assassinations.
Interesting.
There was, of course a high possibility this Walpurgisnacht wasn’t the actual Villain from Europe they called “Walpurgisnacht” and maybe even a copycat, but it was still taking caution and also worth meeting...as if it was the real deal, then they would be a useful contact, specially with the kinds of things they were hoping to achieve, the two of them.
He had sent her to an address originally on the other side of Osaka, and once it was the time to meet he would send a series of messages making her travel a very unorthodox route with mixed transport and foot to reach a Western, gothic looking building, which was actually a cafe and bar. It was, infact owned by himself- bought from the money he had received from his last job invading U.A, though the business wasn’t technically under his name, he did own it. It was good to have somewhere one could meet while not having to worry about security of the place which was one of his primary concerns when meeting potential contacts.
And the person did say they want tea.
Aya had arrived at the cafe long before their guest was to arrive (they probably were having to wander around Umeda right around now) and simply walked past the customers on the bottom floor who were having their cakes and tea and whatnot. The whole place looked like some gothic/victorian themed mansion, with strange curiosities lining the shelves and model skeletons of various creatures places as ornaments.
Taking the stairs up, the staff didn’t question him and instead gave a small bow- they had been informed he was some kind of management even though they had no idea what, he had come in unmasked not to look sketchy- he’d put it on after they got into the meeting room that was reserved for things like this.
Upstairs was inaccessible to normal customers, and instead seemed like a dead end with a bookcase. However, one side of the bookcase was a door that revealed a hidden meeting room.
“This establishment belongs to me, so it should be secure.”
Aya said to his partner, glancing over at him as he took a seat on one of the chairs in the middle of the room that was surrounding a dining table. He pulled out his mask then, putting it on.
“Our guest should be here soon… did you want anything to drink?”
He was pretty sure Sen would complain it was legit tea but well...they did some random fantasy themed cocktails too apparently, if the menu was to be believed?
Once the invited villain arrived at the cafe, a waitress would approach them and once told they were here to meet “Mr.Oozei”, as instructed in the last message, they would show them up to the second floor, opening the door after knocking.
“Greetings, Walpurgisnacht. I am The Marionettist-I apologise for the long travelling you had to do to get here, but it was just for...security purposes.”
There could be the chance they were police or hero affiliated also, and it all a trap after all and what he did decreased the chance of a set up. After he spoke he gave a polite bow in greeting.

Walpurgisnacht arrived at her given address a solid thirty minutes early, only to discover instructions that would lead her on something of a goose chase across the city and then some. The woman couldn't help but smile at the misdirection. It was an entirely suitable countermeasure for this sort of meeting -- and no doubt it was not the last one that she would encounter on this particular evening.
The woman was dressed rather simply; incognito, to be sure, but not in the villainous sense. Her blood-red cloak was tucked away under a light jumper; in lieu of her oni visage, she wore dark-tinted sunglasses, a hospital mask and a backwards baseball cap. They were all various shades of strange red; even the hospital mask was the lightest, palest shade of pink, comprised as it was of her own blood. It was a little odd, if one paid it a substantial amount of scrutiny; to a casual passerby, though, the color combo would simply seem modern chic.
Once the foreign-tempered villain arrived at the cafe, the presumed ultimate location of her meeting with this Marionettist, she took a moment to survey the terrain. She couldn't help but smile beneath her mask; it was, after all, much to her taste. It looked like something that she might have found back 'home', in the placid provincial villages and more temperate climes of Germany or France. She spoke her code message to one of the waitresses, who quickly ferried her towards the secret room.
She flexed her fingers just before she entered; the jumper dissolved, allowing her cloak to unfurl properly, and her headgear morphed and merged into her characteristic half-mask. The lower portion was left unformed so as to allow for easier conversation -- and, more importantly, for the drinking of tea.
"You needn't apologize for intelligence, she insisted, offering the other villains a rather grandiose bow with one arm tucked beneath her breast as her cloak billowed behind her. Not only does it make a great deal of logistical sense -- but it's also rather chic, is it not? I always have been fond of the dramatic, despite my propensity for operating in the shadows."
She approached the table, then, placing her hands upon the back of the empty chair provided to her. Her slender fingers curled around the wooden back, bloodstone nails gently tapping upon the surface. "May I sit?"

Sen had never come with Aya on one of these ventures, at least the tea ventures. If it involved violence and mayhem he was all for testing out the new connections and seeing whether or not they were worth their time, but not the more "pacifistic" ones. He wasn't thrilled about sitting down for tea, mostly because he was not one to sit still at any point and also because tea was not of his interests. Did he invite himself to this thing or did Aya? He couldn't remember, but he figured he'd have never been so stupid as to do this to himself.
"Something with a kick that isn't a girl drink?" He seriously doubted that such a thing existed in a place like this. Of course, Aya was all about the frills and violet tones. This place wasn't the worst cafe he'd ever been too, and Aya had taken him to a lot of bad ones. His eye wasn't twitching yet so that was sign enough that he would survive this endeavor at least. Of course the menu was filled with sweet things. "After this you owe me food." Sen always ordered the spiciest thing on he menu and, even then, he draped it in enough hot sauce to kill an elephant. The drink he had been given was gaudy and extremely girly and for a good five minutes he had stared at it aggressively until he finally agreed to drink it. God damn it, it kinda good.
Eventually, after many wasted minutes he could have been spending elsewhere, foot tapping and palm digging into his cheek bone as he sat there. Eventually, Wal-Walburgis-Walrus-snatch.. fucking whoever... decided to finally grace them with their presence. Aya lifted, courteously bowing. He himself did not. He remained seated, looking about dead from boredom already and they hadn't even gotten to the meeting, which was likely to be boring as well. "Revenant, pleasure." It sounded like anything but..

“...as you saw, the demographic for this place is females, Sen.”
Aya replied with a slight roll of his eyes. He knew full well how much alcohol was “enough” for the other which was… not a humane amount in any measure. He personally didn’t drink, (apart from that one time…) and ordered himself a muscat iced tea instead. He sent the order via the phone situated on the wall, there was also a small concealed dumb waiter on the far back wall.
“Well if you like, I can bring some Isopropyl Alcohol from my lab if you want that much alcohol…”
He wasn’t actually sure what would happen if Sen drank that. It may do some harm. Maybe not. Hey, sounded like a good experiment, he had never really thought of what happened if Sen consumed toxins…
“...it might actually be a rather interesting experiment…”
The violet haired villain mused, a glint of excitement flashing across his grey-violet eyes. There was still many things he didn’t know about the other male, things he hadn’t tried, things he wanted to know, no, he needed to know everything… it was just a matter of getting Sen to agree to trying them as for some reason the man was a little weary of letting him do what he wanted.
“...alright, as long as this meeting goes without any issues we can go and have the abominations you claim to be edible.”
With the kinds of things the black haired man consumed,he was pretty sure that 99% proof alcohol wouldn’t be fatal, at the very least…
Once the woman arrived (so it was one person, adult and female. Thank god it wasn’t some teenager…) Aya nodded, indicating the chair opposite him.
“Please, do sit down. What would you like to drink, eat?”
The menu listed many teas, many flavoured black tea imports from France and England as well as unusual single origins from parts of Asia.
“So I have to ask you rather directly, Walpurgisnacht, are you the same one I have seen spoken about on the internet, the one, or part of group that is responsible for assassinations of politicians, influential company owners and other persons of that sort of nature? And...what brings you to Japan?”
He supposed usually small talk should be first but...he wasn’t that polite, unfortunately.

The woman claimed the seat when instructed, folding one leg primly over the opposite knee as she did so. Taloned hands rested over the point of contact, folded neatly with palms faced down. "Any black tea that you have available; Earl Gray of there are many. Milk, no sugar. Perhaps a small biscuit or two, if such are available."
The calm smile that showed from beneath the half-mask that concealed her more identifiable facial features never twitched or altered, even when her host got straight to their first point of contention.
"Honestly, it's hard to say," she said with a shrug. "The trappings of villainy were never mine by design. It is true that I laid low a number of wicked women and men in central Europe. The media there eventually granted me the name that I now use. It's -- well, rather theatrical, isn't it? The persona that they developed for me." Her nails rattled across her kneecap; the sound of metal echoed from beneath her cloth pant leg.
"There are others who have committed killings in the name of the Walpurgisnacht," she said. "Vile things. Butchery that lacks any sense of style or purpose. The crimes attributed to my name grew somewhat overwhelming, so I sought to return to the place of my birth. Japan, after all, is my ancestral home -- and as far as revolutions go, it's somewhat fertile ground. I thought I would ply my unique brand of justice somewhere with a smaller scale and a more personal connection."

Sen didn't often treat these meetings with any sort of care, at least to outside eyes. He would likely appear bored or distracted, hand propping up his cheek while he slouched lazily where he sat. Careless of etiquette and manners. Truthfully, he had come thinking it would be more like some of the other meetings, where they would test the strength of their new acquaintances against his own, but he was sadly disappointed. The one good and controllable quality about his quirk was that it was fairly good for testing out another opponent's abilities. It forced them to reveal what they likely preferred to keep quiet because if they were going into the fight against Revenant half-cocked and not prepared to test themselves and survive, he would gut them like a fucking pig. Regardless of whether or not it was a practice spar or a real battle, he fought with the intention of ripping them apart. Aya didn't complain, most of the time. If they could survive a spar with him, they weren't savvy enough for the club (or at least how Sen considered it). It seemed fair, but perhaps he wasn't a good judge of fairness. Then again, Aya was not offensive in the least and yet he had survived.
Despite looking bored and thoroughly without fucks for the contents of the topic (and he was quite bored with it all), he paid attention. It was as his parents often told him, pay attention when people speak. Sometimes, unwittingly, their words offered inflections of weakness. Information was powerful and although he was a fighter far more than a strategist these days, he still regarded such lessons with utmost importance. He enjoyed being two very different people, one loud and eye-catching and the other thinking, thoughtful beneath the surface. One was more powerful than the other of course, but the other was not forgotten.
"So you're a revolutionary, huh? Your lot comes a dime a dozen these days. People with codes means limitation, not sure I like that. Limitations aren't useful. And so what then is your code?" To each their own, of course, the Hive hadn't been made to limit those with limitations, after all it was simply an organization of connections. She was not useful to someone like Revenant who had no limitations and no concern for the dogmas of other people, but that didn't necessarily matter to the Hive because no one was under the service of another person. Someone would likely find her useful, but at the same time he couldn't quite help but drag her beliefs through the dirt. "See I don't care that you believe in anything so much as I care that loyalties to a code have a tendency to conflict with loyalties to your friends. If say I were to be like one of those vile wicked people you speak of, what would keep you from acting very un-friend-like in return?"

Early grey...with milk. How very Asian of her. Aya simply turned to the phone on the wall, ordering a classic earl grey, milk on the side, and biscuit assortment. He turned, sitting back down and facing his guest once more. His eyes studied the supposed female as she spoke, ah, so that sort of villain. The type he dubbed “Justice Villain”, who have grander, more “selfless” goals.
...The very type Sen disliked the most, if past interactions was anything to go by. Well, he could agree that while that type was probably were the farthest away from their own goals and philosophy, if this Walpurgisnacht had skills they could use, and if they needed something from them…. Aya wasn’t going to be one to turn down potential contacts, he wanted to know a little more about her. His crime partner had a point though, it was a thought that crossed the violet haired man also.
With the way The Hive worked, in general they would try not to work against each other or internally fight if possible as that would defy the point of having a network, and the villain remembered it being one of the main concerns people had when the whole thing was set up in that warehouse all those months ago. He supposed it all depended on how her response to the other male’s question- though it was all ironic really, all villains were only a hair away from becoming enemies, or allies depending on the situation. Betray at your own risk was the number 1 rule in their network, however, and the smart would know better than to burn their important, supporting bridges. Whether or not the their guest thought of them as important enough to bother with it all was another matter, however.
“So you wish for… a social revolution, if I understand your words correctly? What do you wish to do ultimately? Take control of the government? Reform Japan to your ideals? And what do you want from us? And what can you give us in return?”
The dumb waiter gave a beep to inform him that the other’s refreshments had arrived and he went to retrieve it, setting the tea cup, tea pot and plate of biscuits before the woman.

Celica smiled pleasantly as the others made their observations. Their conclusions and concerns were, ultimately, somewhat predictable; they were the sorts of observations most commonly leveraged against someone with a vision like hers. She couldn't help but chuckle as The Marionettist spoke of government control; it was a reasonable conclusion to reach as far as her motivations went, but it couldn't have been more incorrect.
"I have no interest in power -- at least, not in the formalized, procedural sort." She shrugged her shoulders. "And I have no intention of leading any sort of widespread rebellion. Rebellions are, after all, messy and burdened with human cost." She closed her eyes, choosing to revel in the taste of her tea for a moment instead of proceeding further with her explanation. It was, to the locale's credit, expertly brewed -- and they used whole milk, much to her happy discovery.
"As for the ever equitable exchange," she said, "I simply want connections. Information. Insurance that my endeavors won't accidentally step on another villain's toes. I'm not interested in turf wars or clashes of conscience. It has always been my opinion that there is no use crying over -- what is the phrase? Broken cat statues?" She afforded Sen a pointed look, her lips curling into the slightest of smiles.
"As for the chance that your ideals contradict mine -- I'm not too concerned about that. My targets are those whose deaths would shape society the way that I feel it should be formed. Government officials, social actors, et cetera. If someone is trying to poison the well of society with further stratifications -- well, then it seems far easier to simply silence the voice than to try and counteract the ramifications of their political action." She glanced between the pair. "I am assuming neither of you are pro-corporate politicians with large social followings. If that assumption is correct, then I have no doubt that we will never cross blades due to a conflict of interests."

Burdened with human cost.
Sen scoffed audibly at that, he couldn't quite help himself. He knew exactly what type of person she was. There was nothing innately wrong, in fact, it was only decent to care for the lives of the people your actions were affecting. Sen was neither caring nor decent, he did not care that his actions affected other people or that for ever person he murdered there was a family waiting at home for a loved one that would never walk through the front door again. Perhaps it said more about him for judging her consideration of the human cost.
Then again they had chosen their lifestyles because they were cruel, selfish people. Pretending there was some sliver of decency in you was lying to yourself, so far as Sen believed. It was like the types that preached a better society and did so through fire and blood. It was the purest form of hypocrisy. Sen was many thing, but he wasn't that. He knew exactly how wretched he was and he didn't apologize for it.
For the most part, the woman was fairly pragmatic and agreeable. That much could be see. He could at least stand to work with someone as long as they didn't get in his way and, even if they did, he was not concerned about having to cut them down.
"It has always been my opinion that there is no use crying over -- what is the phrase? Broken cat statues?"
At that he froze, "How did you...?" It slipped out before he could think better of it. His eyes darted to Aya, shoulders visibly slumped, a look of pure contemptible confusion on his face. Did she somehow see that ordeal? It wasn't one of his proudest moments, he wished he at least had the excuse of being drunk, but he couldn't really get drunk (not easily). Hell forbid though if Aya were to find out what he had done.
I feel like were at a conflict of interest and now I must kill you.

To be honest Aya didn’t really get what the lady wanted, but he supposed he could analyse it in his own time and understand. If the female was sane, then she would fall into several groups. And if she wasn’t...well, then she would fall into the other- unpredictable. Either way, he supposed it was a good thing they made contact, as on the off chance she really was who she said she was, it was good to keep tabs on people in the circuit.Specially as, both their combined lack of compassion for humankind and general hate for them may in due time cross paths with people like this person.
The people who knew of the two always seemed rather confused as to why they worked together but it was simple- they were both the same kind of awfully selfish people. Infact, it was selfishness that had brought them together in the first place. In Aya’s opinion, one could usually not trust someone to do something for others but you can always trust someone to do things to their own merit. In 99.7% of humans, the last person one would betray was themselves, and that was a solid enough number for him to trust someone who was doing something for themselves.
So it was a little suspicious the lady was being very vague with what she wanted, but well, it was acceptable parameters to proceed. In actual fact, the people on their own hit list may be people she wanted gone too, but for them it was purely selfish reasons of personal revenge and freedom rather than anything useful to anyone else. Though if interests matched...that may be a fortunate coincidence?
“We have various sources of information, whether it be on the internet or on the street, so that would be no problem. And what kind of services do you offer in return?”
He asked after taking a sip of his own iced tea...when he paused. That was… a rather strange analogy… cats? A sinking feeling of dread took over him at the mention of the certain cursed animal, and violet-grey eyes shifted over to his partner in suspicion. No, it can’t be…
The look on Sen’s face and the words he uttered said it all.
The long haired villain took a slow breath in his eyes closing, and slowly exhaled as he opened his eyes again before he gave the black haired man a look that spoke rather clear words if one was used to him and his mannerisms.
What in the world did you do while you were gone??

The two fell abruptly silent, save for a stammered interrogatory offered by the darker haired man. The pair of hosts exchanged glances that said far more than a few simple sentences could have; it was clear to Celica that they knew each other quite well. She idly wondered at their connection; how had they met? How had they come to discover that they shared sets of ideals, however uncouth? Strictly speaking, it was none of Celica's business -- but then, the mechanics of villainy fascinated her. Everyone had their reasons for getting into this most macabre of enterprises.
She simply gave Sen a baffled look and a little shrug of her shoulders. "Broken windows are noisy," she said, as if that explained the entire scenario outright. Truth be told, it had just been meant to represent a playful little jab; surely he hadn't taken some great offense from her witnessing his fit of passion?
Anywho, she thought: back to business. She sipped at her tea once more before continuing, taking a moment to gently dunk a biscotti into the beverage. "I suppose I'll cut to the heart of things," she said. "Technically speaking, I am an assassin by trade. I tend to mark my own targets, but I am not above lending aid to others. I do have my own goals, but I recognize the value of cooperation -- and besides, it helps obscure my trail when I obfuscate who I'm more likely to go after." She smiled.
"So I suppose, at the end of the day, I wanted to make my services available to you. We can stay in touch -- remain on amicable terms, share what information we feel is prudent for the other... And in return, I offer you my unique services, for when you do not wish to get your hands dirty or draw a scene." She paused. "I'm rather talented at leaving little mess."

Fiercely he ignored Aya's rather piercing expression, reading those words, having them fill his head and yet he could not admit that he had attempted to fight a group of children over a fucking cat statue. Instead he searched through the pockets of his jack and withdrew a cute little cat figurine attached to a key chain. "It was well worth the trouble." It was such a happy looking cat, how could he possibly not threaten to destroy for it?
"I prefer to go through them, but I was in a bit of a hurry." He grumbled with a shrug. It didn't matter anymore anyways though his wounded pride said otherwise. It said: Kill this woman, she saw you at a shameful period of time. He had been without Aya to give him substance or solidity. He had been lost and seeking comfort from a cat statue. HOW WAS THAT CRIMINAL EXACTLY? He still didn't look Aya in the eye though, of course, shame and all.
So instead he focused on the other woman, partial between intrigue and desire to murder thee. She was fairly boring to him, if only because assassins should never have to be formal nor have to abide by any codes but their own, he should know. Though he was less assassin and more circumstantial murderer capable of controlled killing but unwilling to commit to it. I'm rather talented at leaving little mess.
Why did that feel like a personal jab.
Don't like this lady, Onryo chimed in oh so helpfully. He agreed though.

What exactly happened when Sen was AWOL??
The man’s eyes followed a small keychain that was pulled out, and…oh jesus fucking christ… did Sen possibly...commit some kind of crime for …that??
He wanted to tell himself that was impossible, a dumb, rediculous thought to have. There was no way a wanted Villain like Revenant would do such a thing to potentially draw unnecessary attention to himself.
Or so he would like to say.
But he knew this was far from the truth.
They were talking about a man who seemed to lose most of the little common sense he had when felines were concerned. They were talking about a man who had pretty much abandoned and pulled a whole paid mission into jeopardy because one of these blasted animals. And really, there was a reason beyond they just liked each other that they were also professional partners. Onishi Sen did what he wanted, when he wanted, how he wanted without really thinking too hard on the consequences. It wasn’t to say the other was stupid or couldn’t think of them, it was almost like he chose not to, freedom was how he wanted to live while Aya thought of each thing he did 5 steps ahead and all the possibilities they may birth. It was his job in their equation to make sure Sen could act freely (to an extent) without much consequence, but he supposed things like this happened when they were not together.
So all in all, it wasn’t THAT shocking something like this had happened, even if it did make him want to face-palm just a little. Oh well he’d...talk to his dearest later…
“I am sure you understand by now how The Hive work, we work on an equal give and take basis, payment could be anything from monetary to services of equal amount. We have a rather wide skill set within our members, and it is something I am hoping we can expand on.”
He bowed, he wasn’t sure how this woman would be useful to them, but well, it never hurt to have contacts.
“I hope we will both have an equally beneficial business relationship from now on, Walpurgisnacht.”

The woman's lips curled into a prim, but satisfied smile. "Quite so," she agreed. She finished her tea, setting it down on the ground before standing and affording the pair a deep bow. From the inside of her cloak, she fished a business card; with the flick of her wrist, it spun idly onto the table -- impressively landing just between the tower of scones and treats and the teapot, text and images facing the pair of villains across from her.
The card itself was fairly lackluster. Comprised of simple white card stock and printed with black ink, it showed a pair of coordinates and a small missive: 'light the lamp to see the way.' "There is a lamp post at that coordinate, disconnected from the city's mainframe. Beneath the fifteenth rivet from the bottom, on the north facet of the post itself, there is a button that will illuminate the lamp for twelve hours. Should you wish to speak to me, light it -- and I will appear there at midnight the following evening. If you wish, you can also leave a note in the compartment, hidden by a panel between the sixteenth and seventeenth rivets on the same side."
She then profferred a deep, pleasant bow, offering the pair a full, toothy smile and a gloved hand pressed forwards at the apex of the motion. "I look forward to doing business with the hive! Just consider me your busy little killer bee~"

Aya listened to the villainess’s instructions, it was oh so incredibly old fashioned to do everything so manually and analogue in this digital age but he didn’t hate it either. Well, he was someone who also hand painted and rooted his marionettes still, for godssake, when most people used far more technologically advanced tools to do things like that now. He may infamously dislike women, but he supposed he didn’t hate her style, and as long as they didn’t clash...he supposed there were no issues.
The man did not return the smile, mostly as that particular expression was somewhat foregin to Aya’s face, before he held out a hand, and the secret door opened, the doorknob turning as if by itself. It was a very small show of his quirk, but he had been also practising using it in this kind of way recently, it was important to keep utilising one's quirk to improve.
“I am sure we will see each other soon. Until then.”
He added, signaling the end of their small meeting. He would… sort out this cat situation with Sen...after their guest had left. He simply hoped to god there were not too many witnesses to whatever happened bar this one lady, but he had this awful gut feeling that was not the case. Hoping to the non existent gods that this was not the case, he let out a small exhale. Well, that was atleast one new addition to their evergrowing network. And surely, more will follow.
