Jun giggled. He knew the guy was talking out of his ass about the parties involving excel sheets and abacuses. Still, being able to let loose would be nice. As the conversation went on, he did notice that Aki looked at his growing stack of plates. The guy almost looked envious at Jun's form. Which raised an eyebrow from him. But still said nothing about it. What definitely attracted his attention was the way Aki hesitated and reacted from his mentioning the boy's quirk. Though he did say what it was. Jun nodded his agreement. That was very inconvenient. But what caused it in the first place?
"There has to be a reason for it. Have you gone to any quirk counseling or quirk control classes or anything? If you can figure out why it occurs, you might be able to get some amount of control over it. So that it'll only happen upon your will. I don't think it's a mutation quirk, but you can always go to a doctor and have them check it out. But it does sound like an emitter type, just that you lack control over it. There should be plenty of resources out there to help you out with it. You really don't want that to continue on for much longer...that could hurt your potential for employment later on..." Depending on what you break, that employee could quickly become a liability, good worker or not. Still, it was more of a suggestion...he didn't want the guy to feel like he was being pressured or anything. Though that reaction could also mean that he did in fact, already tried those things...

"Mm, as a hero manager, the most I'll be touching is a whole lot of pens, computer keyboards and stakeholder hands. It's no big deal," he said, with a flippant shrug.
If Aki were a better person, maybe he would have felt a little guiltier about lying to Jun; about looking that sweet, earnest concern in the face and deciding to -- as his parents sometimes put it -- omit truth. He wasn't fibbing about the arbitrary, fickle, hateful nature of his quirk, but that was as far as the truth went. Conditional superstrength would have been infinitely preferable to what he did have.
The idea of using his quirk -- even intentionally, even in the controlled confines of a class -- was enough to turn his insides to lead. Any topic of conversation would be infinitely preferable to what they were speaking about now.
"As much as I enjoy talking about me, I'd like to know more about the super-special power that got you into the hero course. Care to share your story?" He propped both his elbows up on the bar, interlacing his fingers together and resting his chin up on them, all picture-perfect polite interest. He knew he'd fidget otherwise; his right wrist twinged with a phantom itch.

"That could still get expensive...I think my mom once went through two hundred dollars of keyboards in a month a few times...by stabbing them with a flame knife and melting them as a result...I think she still has that desk somewhere..." That last bit was more mumbled to himself. She'd since got a new flame resistant desk that could take her quirk for a good long while. But there were still a few scorch marks on it when she got really pissed. Still, Jun couldn't quite tell if Aki was giving white lies or if he was simply omitting certain truths...the guy was hard to read, no matter how perceptive the blond was.
Anyways, the conversation soon went to him and his own powers. "My quirk is called Sparky Flames. It's a dual quirk. I can manipulate fire and lightning. Though I do have some choice ways. It's great for blowing things up and getting through tough defenses since it has incredible offensive strength, but it's not so great at rescue, keeping collateral damage to a minimum. And the most defensive things I have is propelling myself through the air using my fire half and discouraging hand to hand combat via circulating electricity around me. I think I got one of the highest points in the practical part of the entrance exam." Despite it not being particularly long ago, it still seemed like it was.
As far as why he decided to go on this course...well, he wasn't going to diverge that information. That topic struck way too close to home. So hopefully what he did say would satisfy the business student.
Speaking of some parents, he phone rang with an ancient English song "Bad Boys." Which could only mean his father. Smiling apologetically, he took it. So, his dad wanted to meet at an arcade here in Musutafu. That was cool.
"So, it seems like my old man is in time and wants to chill a little bit. I'll see you around I'm sure. It was nice meeting you...I hope we can chill again sometime. Feel free to stop by the 1-A dorms to visit." He finished up his last plate, making the stack ten plates high. And patted Aki on the shoulder on his way out, knowing the boy was going to take care of the ticket for him.

Aki nodded his way through Jun's explanation of his quirk. He had really only asked to divert the topic away from discussion of his own quirk, at first, but it never hurt to listen -- and Jun's quirk was impressive. Useful, especially for a student in the Hero course. He quashed the little bud of I want that underfoot, and made a quiet note to keep on eye on him in the upcoming school events. He'd be something to watch, Aki had a hunch.
"It was my pleasure," Aki said, unlacing his fingers to shoot Jun a quick, casual wave. As Jun left, he glanced at the stack of plates the unassuming boy had amassed -- a veritable tower, compared to his own measly two. His lips quirked. Something to watch, indeed.
He reached into his bag his wallet, and then paused. He had come all the way out here; it'd be a pity to leave soon. He might as well try something new, get some first-hand experience in eating at a -- a place like this. Did they serve dessert at sushi bars? He could do with a pudding or two.
