Jun had waited for someone to share this with for three years. He wasn't as outgoing and friendly as his brother, being more introverted, and prefer being approached. Since their last real heart to heart talk though...they had hung out quite a bit since. Around Daiki's Fu time at least. And normal school stuff too. It was time to share why he became a hero, why he was almost always gone on a weekend. Still, he was nervous about it, despite it was Daiki of all people. The enigma of the class. Equal parts idiot and smart and insightful. But he was fun. And inspired people. He waited at the train station. He didn't know how well he would do if Daiki stayed with him for a few hours. But once the guy showed up, Jun's throat closed, but the smol blond still smiled and waved. What he was going to do had stayed a secret for a long time. He finally got his voice. "Hey Dai-chan Two~" It was the only thing that came out of his mouth. But he motioned for the taller boy to follow him. It should be noted that one of Jun's eyes was blue instead of green, and both eyes were darker than normal. More because of the bundle of emotions that this brought every so often, but perhaps more so now since he brought a friend with him. It was time for a second heart to heart, but not here. The blond boys made their way to one of Tokyo's best hospitals...perhaps the best in the nation. They took the elevator to the fifth floor. Jun being uncharacteristically quiet. Almost eerily so. But the nurses sure wasn't. "Hello Jun-kun! Oh? You brought a friend this time?! That's a shock! Well, we know you know the way!" Though even the nurses acted a little weird. They were usually more chatty than that. Still, a small shy smile and dragging Daiki hurriedly to a certain room. Labeled Riku Tomoshibi. Inside laid a blond that looked almost exactly like Jun, except with longer blond hair. And an oxygen mask over his face, a heart monitor beeping in the corner, and covered with blankets. There was a tiny bit of frost on the windows...that was odd. On the whiteboard, it said that Riku had a haircut appointment made, and a neurology test of some kind in the next two weeks. Jun smiled at how calm Riku looked, and how steady his breathing was. Walking over to his brother, he put his hand on the comatose boy's hand. Cool to the touch. "Daiki Satou...meet my twin brother...Riku Tomoshibi. He's been comatose for the past three years..." That was all he could say before his voice cracked a little...and a few tears ran down. But this needed to be done.

[attr="class","sinner"] [attr="class","sinner1"] [attr="class","sinback"] [attr="class","sinnert"] Daiki knew this wasn't some mere hangout. They were taking the train to Tokyo after school Saturday, and from connecting the dots considering Jun was never around during this time he only imagined they'd be staying the night there. He didn't know what he was in for, but he knew it was important to Jun. The best thing he could do was be there for him and be the support he needed. Perhaps this was what he was looking for, because he knew if he let it all out without a support, he'd break. Maybe this was truly what Jun wanted, even if he didn't know it. Though Daiki didn't even know what truly was the source of this excursion yet, and with the amount of silence during their length train ride to Tokyo it was all too easy to get lost in theorizing. When Jun had greeted him at the station he'd have greeted him back, but moments after they'd have both found themselves on the bullet train heading to the capital. During the ride the two likely had a bit of small chat. Though Daiki would've quickly come to sense what he recognized as fortitude from Jun. To stay strong and composed, it wasn't really a time for simple chatter. Thus he too opted to look out the window to the scenery that they passed by. The gently spinning windmills and the lonely radio towers and telephone poles with all but wires connecting them all together down rural lands they cut through. The last time he took the train properly was when he left home to come down to Musutafu for the start of school, and before that it was his visit with that seemingly simple but oh so complex man in a neighbouring prefecture. That conversation never leaves him, and even now words still find their way to him. 'Be strong for him' whisked through his head, but he didn't need reminding. He knew whatever it was held great importance to Jun and... Must be tragic, otherwise his friend would be more upbeat. He had noticed the boys eyes had changed color as well. Though at least they weren't dead-dark like they were when they became friends. It would be inevitable that with the coming sight he'd start piecing together a narrative before he was told anything. Once off the train in the familiar air of Tokyo, visited by Sports Bus all but three weeks ago, Daiki would follow Jun to one of his many theories. A large hospital, not like the quaint one that held Fu-chan in Musutafu. This hospital was a core of medical care in Japan, with all of the wealth of being in downtown Tokyo to fund extremely high tech equipment and perform extremely advanced surgeries on people. When he saw that building he already drew a line to connect the dot. It was the brother, it was his twin. What could it have been that landed his brother in this high-end of a hospital. What was so bad that it needed the best of the best Japan could offer to fix and watch over. He could only remember how many weekends Jun was just gone, his brother has been here since the start of the year at least. Likely much longer. Stepping inside he expected Jun to be recognized if his attendance was weekly, and so sure enough some nurses would greet him in a way like they knew him personally. How long... Had it been? He'd give a passing wave as they mentioned a friend tagging along apparently, he'd have introduced himself if not for the ongoing walk towards one particular room that Jun knew the path too like the back of his hand. And so there it was. A gently opened door with a label 'Riku Tomoshibi' next to it. When Jun walked in, Daiki followed to see the sum of all his theorizing during their trip with all of the clues that'd been left. A boy that was missing what many call the best years of his life because of... Who knows what, he hadn't quite gotten that far. Watching Jun walk over to the side of the bed, he'd move next to him. Glancing up to notice the frosty windows, he could only suspect that Jun's brother ended up in this state partway into using his quirk. Did he overexert himself trying to impress, or... Was he attacked? Jun's reaction to that one kid in the cafeteria was unnatural... There was a connection between all of this, and he didn't want to pry into questions right away. He just nodded, and brought a hand to rest on Jun's shoulder. " I'm sorry, Jun-chan. I... I really am. These past three months I've been in a hospital every week, and you've been doing it for three years. He couldn't have a more supportive brother than that..." He stated, not ending on a question. If Jun wanted to tell their story, he'd tell their story. He didn't ask. Jun gave Daiki a sad smile and wiped away the tears. "I never understand that...saying sorry when it wasn't your fault or anything. Still...it's appreciated. We were always close, so I know that if it were the opposite, he'd do the same for me. Riku dreamed of being a hero. And with his control and a good and flexible quirk, he certainly could have done it. I may have more power, but he always had more control. And our parents made sure we knew the rules and how to defend ourselves since we were young. Anyways, three years ago, a villain with a pure electricity based quirk barged into our home, after running from pro heroes and police. And promptly wanted to use us as a bargaining chip. That didn't end well. For either us or him. I ended up with a huge scar on my left side and back and that side paralyzed for eight months and Riku ended up like this. The villain got even more hurt and escaped. But probably still have memories of twins using lightning, ice, and fire to fend him off.
That's why I have a burning hatred for pure electricity based quirks. I should have a bigger hatred of the villain...but...I don't know. I didn't choose this path just for revenge, though that is a small part. I'd be lying to myself hard if I said it wasn't. Riku always told me we could have made a great team...I originally had no interest in being a hero. And yet...his actions that day...I don't think I can be as inspiring as Riku or you...but if I could prevent just one more instance of what happened to us, then it's worth it." In Jun's green eye, green electricity sparked, while blue flames shown in his blue eye. Unbeknownst to the small blond.
Walking over to the board, he looked at any notes that were left. "The big difference with Fu-chan and Riku-nii is that Fu-chan's is more serious. Riku doesn't have a potentially fatal disease like cancer or anything like that. I hope she got my card...I tried to go with something funny but encouraging as well...oh? The room was covered in ice and the lights and electrical equipment going haywire two days ago?" Jun frowned. That was...interesting. With both of them being emitter types, they have to use their quirks consciously.

[attr="class","sinner"] [attr="class","sinner1"] [attr="class","sinback"] [attr="class","sinnert"] Daiki just listened to Jun talk. It was a lot to hear; not too much by any means, just the content itself was heavy. Just like Teresa, it was villainy staring right at him and he was still at a spot in his life where he couldn't do anything about it. Sure he could promise Jun he'd one day put the man behind bars so he'd never endanger another soul, but he felt like a promise like that can't ever be guaranteed to be fulfilled. In a world as large as it is, that person might be out of the country by now, across the Ocean and hidden somewhere remote. Three years is a long time for a Villain to readjust to a tough spot. Though at the end of it all he'd raise a brow when Jun followed up with a question to himself that put a spotlight on the frost glassing the window ever so slightly. He'd speak up. " If this isn't normal, I don't want to instill false hope... Though maybe he's making his way back to you. From what you've told me the willpower to get control over his body again comes from wanting to be a Hero with you some day. Sure, he's had a setback but the determination you've told me about is one that I don't think can be defeated by a mere setback. Let's hope he comes back soon." He said, looking back up towards the window. Maybe it was some sort of pseudo-conscious communication, he didn't expect to see anything specific and instead just moved on to talk further. " I say sorry a lot, if I had to give a reason for why I did now, it's because the man that caused this never will. So in light of that, I feel responsible for having not already been out on the field, if I tried harder maybe I could've skipped ahead and been a pro hero by now. Sure, I'd be much younger but I'd at least legally be able to protect people. I'm inclined to apologize to everyone that's been wronged, because it's my goal to rid the world of evil some day through action and inspiration to others." He would say, his right hand flexing into a fist for just a moment, before relaxing. " If I had to share some incite, it's to never set a bar for yourself. Never set an expectation that you know you can hit. You know that you'll be able to graduate, and you'll stop someone. You know that. So to say you'll never be like your brother and me is just setting the bar low. Go beyond, reach for the stars and make your life what you want it to be, not what you expect it to be. The people you'll be protecting out there will see you as their inspiration, remind them of what good there is in the world and motivate them to do good themselves. You hold just as much potential as your brother and I. Adversity is what defines a person, and I think once you overcome the trauma of it you'll be an amazing Hero. Just come to subconsciously realize that it was not electricity that made this happen, it was the man wielding it." Daiki shared, stepping over towards the board to give it a once over as well. He'd then reach for a chair and veeery quietly pull it next to the medical bed and just sit down with crossed arms. " Thankfully Fu-chan made it through her surgery, and she's in remission. She should be in classes next month, I just hope from this experience she's gathered the courage to keep moving forward despite all the reasons to stop. It was almost like she was cursed, you know? Tragedy seems to follow her. Many of you, in fact. I've been lucky enough in my life to not go through it. Of course, these days I can't say that as confidently. The love of my life almost died prior to her surgery and very well could've during that same surgery. My friends suffer because of wrong-doings that I blame myself for not being there to stop. I know I shouldn't, believe me. Though I think it's healthy to do so to make myself try harder, so one day I can be there." He'd say, glancing back to Riku. " One way another, there has to be good at the end of it all, or else what will become of the world?" "I don't want to get my hopes up too...but it makes sense. Us emitters have to consciously use our quirks. It's not like, a muscle stimulated or anything like that, we literally have to think about using it. It also explains the neurology test. It's good news. But I'll celebrate when he's up and talking. In the meantime, I'll be visiting him." It would just prove how strong his brother really was. If or when he wakes up, Riku will make a hell of a force to be reckoned with. Still, he sat down in one of the chairs.
Daiki spoke up then, explaining why he said he was sorry. "Apologies are great, but you don't have to apologize for not being able to stop this or that. You'll end up graying and white headed before you're thirty. Some may repent or learn, some may not. And it's not like you can be everywhere at once, no matter how powerful you'll become. As I said before, you're inspiring. And that's possibly your greatest gift."
The next part sort of made him frown and tilt his head curiously. "Am I setting a bar for myself? I didn't think I was. I'm sure my actions will speak louder than my words will, and be inspiring that way. Life is full of surprises, both good and bad. And I do have a back up plan if hero work doesn't pan out, but that doesn't mean I'm not going to give it my all. So don't you worry, Dai-chan 2...I'll give you every bit of competition there is!" Jun gave Daiki a cheesy, challenging, if friendly grin. Of course he wasn't going to be pushed around, or not give it everything he's got.
Jun kicked the other boy in the knee. "I don't think it is, you're gonna turn grey before you have kids! And what's in the past is in the past! Focus on the here and now, and do what you can now. Sometimes doing the most good is just being there. Like now, being with me while I spill my guts out. And I hate to say it, but there's always going to be villains. Some redeemable, some not. Being a bright star of hope can help with that. But it's not going to stop everyone. When that time comes, we'll put them down and toss'em in jail like all the rest."
The door opened to reveal a six foot eight tall man with grey hair at the sides of his head, and blond on top. Broad and rippling with muscle, he was gigantic. The man wore a plain button up shirt, and black trousers. A thick eyebrow rose a little when he saw Daiki. "Uh...hi dad...this is Daiki Satou, my friend and classmate!" Jun gave his best grin. The stoic man simply nodded. "Dino Tomoshibi. Pleasure." Was all he said before stepping out to give the two some privacy. Leaving Jun to blink at the empty space.

[attr="class","sinner"] [attr="class","sinner1"] [attr="class","sinback"] [attr="class","sinnert"] "I don't think it is, you're gonna turn grey before you have kids!"The words that Jun spoke didn't resonate with Daiki at all. In fact, if anything Jun would notice the taller student glance to the side for the briefest of moments before looking back forward and considering everything else he had to say. He thought about some of the words Jun said, and there was wisdom in them. Daiki didn't think the same way, not the inverse but he was strong in his convictions that he'd do his best to protect everyone. Even if that meant being something that inspires the world to be better than it was. Helping isn't always in the physical, and he understood that much. Though something else also stood out towards him. In fact, maybe it helped lighten this whole ordeal up for a brief moment. This was the second time that Jun had referred to him as... 'Dai-chan 2', first before they boarded the train and now here. He didn't understand where the two was coming from, but he'd make a note to ask when it was more appropriate. Still, with a calm breath inwards he began to explain his thoughts on well... Having a family. " To tell you the truth, when I came to UA highschool I didn't want to love anybody. I'm not a cold person, quite the opposite. It's just if I even remotely succeed on the scale that I'm envisioning, anyone close to me will be at risk at some point. Just like you said, while I might have been strong enough to gain that malicious intent from villains, I can't always be around to protect my family if someone went after them. The people I love and those closest to me will be those that villains try to ruin in order to hurt me. I'm confident in my mental fortitude to keep fighting no matter what, but it still doesn't excuse willingly bringing people into my life knowing they'd be at risk. Fu-chan was... A genuine feeling of love that just happened. By the time I realized my philosophies on this kind of thing, we'd already confessed to one another. Many would consider that beautiful, but part of me won't easily forgive myself for bringing her into harms way. At least she'll be a Hero, and can defend herself against Villains. That is specifically why I can't ever have children, though. I don't want to put them in harms way, as it stands in the current era a child is more at risk of a worrisome upbringing than a proper one. While I think I can follow in my own families footsteps and raise a child well, even then I can't afford to put them in harms way. The truly vile, most wicked villains are those that we rarely hear about and have gone uncaught for years, some even decades. They wouldn't bat an eye in hurting a child." With that he just shifted his attention back towards the window for another moment. Did he want a family? Sure. Could he afford too? He didn't believe so. Since no matter what anybody says, even if slight there's still a risk that his children are targeted. Fu was risk enough for Daiki, at least risk outside of himself. He never seemed to have a risk with putting himself on the line for his beliefs; but when it came to others the rules were different. On a more positive note he acknowledged Jun's comment of inspiration being his greatest gift. " Since old times, stories have travelled further than any one person. In our day and age, that's only more of a reality. The greatest impact of any Hero is their inspiration on others. I see that as an extension of self. The better you do what being a Hero takes, the more you'll inspire." That was about the time where Dinosaur Tomoshibi walked in, and for a change Daiki found himself lightly tilting his head upwards to look at him. Though, not as much as at the start of the year. He'd grown a few inches to six five. After all, he was still a kid. He immediately correlated the greying but otherwise blond hair to Jun, only for a moment later having his immediate thoughts confirmed by his friend. The man introduced himself, and Daiki offered a brief bow. " Satou Daiki, likewise Tomoshibi-san. Please, don't let me keep you from visiting your son." Daiki would say, that was something he did not want to be an obstacle in. If that meant leaving the room, he'd do so. Though hopefully he just gave the man... Oddly enough, permission to see his son with Daiki in the room. Being polite often extended far in Japan, Daiki wasn't surprised by it too much. He'd glance back to Jun, hoping ties with his father weren't too bad. Then, his attention shifted back to the comatose Riku. Jun rubbed the back of his neck. "I wouldn't let that stop you from finding happiness with someone. It's always a risk. My dad was former JSDF and a former police officer. Both of those professions are still really risky. He could of died at any time, or us be deliberately targeted at any time. Instead, it was a bit of random chance. But, well, we're still young yet. Both of us still have a bit of growing up to do..." He left it there. Daiki was stubborn, but that still shouldn't stop him from finding happiness and having kids. Despite being gay himself, Jun wouldn't mind having kids, and nowadays, it was easier to adopt or get a surrogate.
The little blond grinned goofily at the giant's words. He absolutely agreed. "Agreed. And let's inspire people together!" Jun was a lot more enthusiastic now, and in a much better mood, with his eyes being more bright, though still mismatched. He even held out his hand for a high five.
When he sat back down, cross legged like he was sitting on the floor, his dad had backed out of the room, making him pout. "Oh geez...we're past the serious talk...he's too considerate sometimes...sorry, let me drag him back in here. He's not the most sociable of people, but he's a good guy." Getting up, he went out and dragged his old man back in. While the man's overall face remained stoic, his eyes showed immense amusement. After forcing the large man to sit down, Dino rose an eyebrow again at Daiki. "Just a friend?"
Jun's face went red with embarrassment. "Yes! Daiki is so not my type. He's too big and not cute at all! And he's straight and has a girlfriend. He's only cute when he's with her. You should bring her with us next time if she's feeling up to it..." The big man cracked a small grin and chuckled, ruffling his child's head. "It's good to see you're making friends. Satou-kun, Junny said you were a classmate, class 1-A as well? How's it going?" The man was gruff and soft spoken, but there was a power behind the voice.

[attr="class","sinner"] [attr="class","sinner1"] [attr="class","sinback"] [attr="class","sinnert"] Sort of gazing through the window across the room, it was easy to interpret that despite Jun's effort to convince Daiki that family and belonging was healthy even given the circumstances; he would remain how he is. Maybe it had to do with his quirk itself. Yekaterina Petrova didn't have children, neither did the holder before them. Unless their family had more than one child it often ended in the last of a bloodline. He still gave Jun the time of day and the respect that ought to be given for the place that suggestion came from; a good one... Yet it ultimately in the end meant little. " You're right, we both do still have a long way to go in our lives. I have the luxury of seeing every part of it. The third holder is an elderly man while the second is a middle aged woman in Russia. It's interesting to see how the... Aura of people at different parts of their lives changes so much. When a fierce soul becomes mellow and calm in their older years. And they get to see the youth that they once had, in a way. A distant sort of... Feeling that resonates deeply, is the best way to describe it." He would say, before returning his attention to the boy on the bed. It seemed that the conversation had left from darker waters for the moment. So it was all Daiki could do to not reiterate the frustrations he'd already aired. When Jun went and fetched his father again he watched the giant of a man turn from truthfully slightly intimidating to friendly. When you have a name that could be extended to Dinosaur, Daiki just can't help but draw parallels to what his quirk could be. When he asked if Jun was just a friend in that particularly suggestive way, Daiki started to open his mouth to which Jun responded first in a flustered manner. Daiki was just going to say no, but that would suffice as well. He never saw the appeal in cute when he heard Jun give an explanation. He was one of those guys that preferred hot over cute, perhaps. Looking to Jun when he mentioned bringing Fu... He thought about it internally for a moment before responding. " Maybe I could, yeah. Though she just got over Cancer, I'm not sure I want to put more weight on her shoulders. It's anyones natural response to empathize with others no matter the circumstances, that pain travels through everyone involved. She'd beat herself up about it in some way or another... Maybe not guilt, but sadness? You know Fu-chan. Maybe after some time, but right now I think it's best she just get her feet back on the ground and find her routine." He said, before turning his attention towards papa Tomoshibi when he'd spoken and asked a couple questions. Cracking a small smile he'd nod and respond. " Yeah, 1-A. It's going alright. School's great, though what's been more insightful than school ever has is being exposed to how widespread tragedy is. You used to work with the police? I'm sure you've seen a lot." His attention shifted back to Riku. " Hoping to some day be able to help make life something better. More ups than downs, if that makes sense. And you? How're you doing?" Daiki asked in return. Jun blinked in surprise. Daiki's quirk was so strange. And at times, convenient. Still, Jun nodded about Fu-chan. "That's fair." The blond sat down in his father's lap. Jun was a dwarf compared to his old man. Who likewise spoke up in regards to Daiki's girlfriend. "Cancer's tough. That's the right decision to let her get back to a routine again. She'd be more than welcomed here." He gave the lad a kind look and patted his son on top of his head, making the little guy pout and blush a little.
The giant of a man nodded. He had seen a lot. "More than you know. Ashiya especially had stirred up a hornet's nest. We can only be fortunate that no major villain organization has rose its ugly head here in Japan. I joined the JSDF to protect people, and later the police force to do the same. Heroes may get the attention, but they hardly work alone. Be good to the men and women in blue and other civil servants, and they'll watch your back as well as any other hero."
"Helps that not all of them abide by the no quirk use rule. Even if it does get them into trouble a lot." The comment earned himself a double knuckle rub on the sides of his head. Each fist was about the same size as Jun's head.
"I'm doing well. And it does make sense. It's why many become civil servants of one kind or another. I just got done with a lecture to new recruits in the police force here in Tokyo. Figured I'd stop in for a little bit." The large man gave a soft smile to the boy in bed.
"Speaking of, when were you going to tell me about Riku's quirk usage?"
"Figured you'd stop in today. Good news as it is, we'll see what the neurology test says."
