Few know what he looks like underneath his helmet, though it isn't as if it is a secret that is closely kept on purpose. Beneath said helmet lies the face of a mixed Japanese-European man, average in almost all ways save for his height.
PERSONALITY
LIKES TranquilityWarm Places Respect Civility | DISLIKES ChaosRudeness Loud Noises Arrogance |
RUMOR/SECRET: | Ko is actually over eighty years old, and has several wives with many children. |
If there was ever a picture perfect fit for "strong and silent" - it'd be Ko. His immense size and general stoic presentation make him seem like some sort of unapproachable pillar of Heroism. In his own words, however, he is: "Just shy".
His passion for heroism and teaching clashes heavily with his admittedly well-controlled natural hesitance for social interaction, and it often relegates him to appear lofty or 'above others'. In fact, it is one of his biggest irritations when anyone acts as if they are superior for any reason - even if a skill gap is present. In turn, he treats students with a large amount of respect - and expects the same about in equal measure. Delinquent behavior or bullying is harshly dealt with, and Ko isn't afraid to hand out detention for even minor infractions in such instances.
This doesn't mean he is typically strict in class - as in fact, he prefers to have an open atmosphere for discussion and growth. Introflection is one of his most promoted topics, and most students in his class will generally experience in one way or another - through assignments or other means.
He finds the wild overestimations of his age based on his grave voice amusing and isn't one to take offense at small or playful jokes. When the rare occasion occurs when Ko makes a friend, he becomes a dependable and steady boulder amongst a sea of turmoil whenever they need him.

Life never went easy on Ko. From birth, there was already tragedy - his mother passing away shortly bringing him into the world. Grief-stricken, his father took him in with a concrete goal to give the child the happiest life he possibly good. If that meant spoiling him - so be it. Ko, however, was a bit different. Contrary to other children he often declined offers of lavish items and the newest toys in favor of a few select favorites and occasional expensive purchases - displaying a level of gratitude and gravity at a young age. He was initially thought Quirkless - showing no signs of his mother's history cognizance or father's light constructs. It didn't bother him - as his demeanor and size turned away would-be bullies.
That didn't stop him from stepping in to protect other children who were bullied - quickly gaining a reputation as the 'Quirkless Defender'. That was, however, until late middle school when he was taking an optional course in ancient history. Home studying for a test on the practices of knights and samurai, imaging the exact styles of weapons and armor - when said implements materialized from thin air, startling the boy and causing a tired reaction. His father, joyed, was the first to suggest he take his newfound power to be honed at a Hero Academy.
Ko, a perfectionist, was declined from U.A. on his first attempt - the boy settling instead for a narrow admission to Shiketsu. It was a much farther trip, and he was remiss to be away from his father, but he was only met with encouragement and to pursue his dreams. He was relatively obscure at first - focusing on honing his skill and taking advantage of combat scholarships the academy provided to learn more foreign fighting techniques with medieval type weapons. It wouldn't be until the parallel Sports Festival until he made a mark - going from bottom expectations to a frontrunner after plowing through the competition not by brute force - but by tactical mind and technique.
His fame continued to grow, eventually graduating in the school's top three students at no. 2, and was quickly invited to an ocean of potential agencies to sign up for. Nostalgia for his old home, Ko respectfully decided to bid Shiketsu farewell and move back closer to its' rival - stationing himself at an agency in Tokyo. His work was steady and impressive, and despite not having the flair of a more flashy Quirk was able to become relatively popular in the city and was even spoke of outside of it. His legend as a top Shiketsu student and now his rapidly climbing career catapulted him to the spotlight, where he unfortunately resides. He isn't much one for crowds and fans but does make an effort to connect with some of them.
It was partly why, so early on into his career, he decided to take a different path and become a teacher. As his father was determined to stay in Tokyo to honor his wife, Ko stuck by him - applying for a position at U.A. over his own academy. The... flow of the school initially confounded him compared to the structured environment of U.A.'s rival, but he quickly grew to enjoy it. He still takes spare time to stop a villain or time, while he's at it!

QUIRK & SKILLS
Spectral Equipment Manifestation
TYPE: Emitter
RANK/LEVEL: A-
SUMMARY:
Ko is capable of manifesting armor and weaponry dating between 600CE - 1300 CE out of his own vitality. Summoned objects behave differently when forming, but armor generally immediately clings to Ko's body while weapons manifest in his hands. This permits him to rapidly equip a suit of steel armor, along with something like a kite shield and short sword. Oddly enough, he can only summon equipment from this era with origins or widespread use in Europe. Summoning of equipment is not instantaneous and hosts a small delay of a few seconds - during which the general outline of it is highlighted in a bright golden glow. When finished forming, however, equipment made this way is generally the same quality as actual steel weapons from the time period - providing him with effective weapons and armor on short notice. This Quirk provides no other bonus outside of summoning equipment, so the user must have the endurance and skill to effectively utilize summoned armor and weapons to make use of this Quirk in combat.
The user can 'swap' armor or weapons when either is damaged or simply to better fit the situation, but doing so uses more stamina than normal and can only be done once per post for a single weapon or suit of armor. For example, if Ko needs to disable a villain without killing them, he could swap a short sword for a warhammer and utilize the blunt force of it to knock them out - but couldn't also change his armor and/or his shield in the same post.
WEAKNESSES/LIMITATIONS:
>While his armor doesn't vanish so long as he is with it (weapons do after one post out of combat), for each replacement or a completely new weapon or fixture, it taxes his body by utilizing his body's vitality to form said implement. Each individual summon, even after training, feels almost like getting the wind knocked out of you. While Ko has become used to this feeling and can work around it - it still is hampering in combat.
>Implements made by this Quirk are real steel - and while that does give it an offensive edge, stronger opponents can break or resist attacks from them. Additionally, carrying around actual steel tends to weigh Ko down even more - draining more of his precious stamina.
>Weapons and armor are linked to Ko, and any attempt for another person to don or use them is null - signified by them bursting into golden light when out of his grip for more than a post.

Weapons Master
RANK/LEVEL: B
SUMMARY:
Ko has taken the time to get at least some general training in a large variety of European medieval weapons. Due to his focus being split, his individual skill with each is diminished, but he is able to effectively adapt to using different tools on a moment's notice. His preferred set-up is a kite shield and short sword. If is opponent can outskill him in one area, he has the option of switching his weapon to something that more effectively counters them.
Endurance Training
RANK/LEVEL: A+
SUMMARY:
Considering so much of how he operates revolves around his ability to keep going on, Ko has made it a priority to continually train his body to be capable of being taxed longer and longer. This allows him to not only use his Quirk without feeling winded but also carry and use the equipment made with it to its' utmost efficient state.
