Shibuya Crossing, a massive intersection in the province which was a spectacle to behold during the day and early night, but in the early day before the sun has yet to rise, it had quite an interesting guest situated upon it. The villain known as Behemoth, whom recently gained notoriety from his quick rise to power in local criminal gangs, stood in the large open streets with crossed arms. Based on the information he'd gained and his own analytical skills, there was a certain villain who frequented this path in the late hours, the one known as Revenant. Should half the things Akazo heard about this Revenant be true, the elephantoid could find plenty of use for such a subordinate, which is why he had chosen this night to intercept him.
Except for the streetlights forming circles of bright spots and some street signs making the sidewalk dimly lit, the middle of the street which the giant villain occupied was quite dark such that he seemed a shadow himself looming over it all. Most businesses had been closed for hours, too late for even the casual night crowds to hang around, meaning very few witnesses, and fewer sober witnesses. Still, for one such as himself, a degree of discretion and caution would be quite important to avoid the eye of heroes and police who might be patrolling the area lightly. He feared not that they might catch him, but rather would avoid the annoyance of needing to squash such petty resistance and beckon to him the swarm of pests to follow.
"It should be any minute now..." Akazo muttered to himself, restless in his waiting. There was certainly an uncertainty about this, perhaps the Revenant might not come by today, at which point he would have to repeat tomorrow, but he was more or less sure of his analysis and knew eventually the villain would appear here. It was only a matter of time. While Akazo understood this was the most likely place to meet the villain, the truth of why such an infamous maniac would be around eluded the elephant. It was unremarkable, but the reality was that there was a snooze shop that was open at this ungodly hour which let you sleep surrounded by cats. This crossing just happened to be the most direct route to it for Revenant.

Tokyo was his family’s kingdom, they had buried their roots beneath the surface, poisoned every inch available to them. They dug their claws in and feasted on the rotting corpse until there was nothing left. And the Onishi family was, without a doubt, the most insatiable species of beast known to the human race (if the lot of them could even be considered human). He didn’t use to make a habit of leaving Osaka or venturing within the jungle of Tokyo to where his family’s influence reigned supreme even then, but times had changed. Perhaps he had grown cocky or stupid, to begin to underestimate what the Onishi were capable of. It was likely because of that very reason that he was so drawn to pestering them at their borders, a precocious parasite. It had become a fun little game for him.
You’re getting careless, boy. Onryō growled, ever such the poignant know-it-all out to ruin his fun.
"Me? Careless? Never."
It was on his way back from this persistently regular trip (which he had to admit had become something of an obsession of his and hardly smart) that he spotted the shadow in his way. Was this their gift for him? For all of his trouble? If they were smart they would have bided their time, but they had proven to be otherwise time and time again. He was the beast in the night that people were scared of. When the sun draped beneath the horizon and shadows peaked through the glow of the fading sunset, the world became once again his kingdom reborn. A dynasty of blood and teeth.
Streetlights caught the glint of a knife as he flung it upward, catching it again as it dropped back down. Careless to the creature in front of him. Pay attention. Onryō hissed once more, growl resounding in his head. "Mother mother mother, sending another fat brute to off me? Originality was never your forte, but I am truly ashamed." He said to no one exactly, certainly not to the shadow that awaited him. He’d be surprised if the brute could even talk.
"Now, aren’t you a beefy motherfucker. I didn’t know they were hiring zoo animals as hit-men. Have you been waiting long for me? Truly I'm flattered." This time it was directed at the beast before him. An elephant? He’d seen stranger and he was hardly one to talk with his other half. "You're lucky, you've caught me on a good day. I suggest you slink back to the circus, Peanut, cause I've got a hot date and I'm late."

The blade flickered in the light, Akazo reacting quickly enough to raise his arm into it's projected path and catching it in the back of his wrist. It cut an inch, not quite deep enough to truly hurt him in any significant matter, a flesh wound, as they say. He took the knife out with his thumb and index, squeezing slightly to bend it into a 'V' shape. Akazo eyed the tiny human from high above, but did not look down on the attacker. Those of reputation often earn it, though through what means was yet to be determined. The violent confidence, however, supported what rumors had been heard so far. The insults the boy spouted were meant to offend, Akazo assumed, but they only served to amuse him.
"Zoos and circuses are certainly interesting inventions of the human ego, don't you think? There to remind us of our supremacy of clearly superior beasts, yet the cages they dare not enter betray their fear. An exercise in delusion, I suppose," Akazo muses, flicking the blade back at the boy like a discarded toothpick. He observed the one he presumed to be Revenant closely, watching his demeanor and listening to his breath, an attempt to analyze and understand this existence before him. There was wariness, perhaps. Confidence in abundance, such that Akazo wouldn't confuse this for being fearful, but rather an assumption of hostility. This was an understandable reaction which the elephant was used to, being with the natural physique that he had. First, before an assertion of dominance should be made, a deescalation of the situation such that his forwardness not be confused with a threat. As for the snide remarks on Akazo's appearance, it was a sort of quirkism which he had often dealt with during his life, little different from racism. To be certain he did not find it any less unpleasant, but such bigoted words were something he had grown a thick skin for and could let go for the sake of his grander goals. "I am quite grateful for your mercy, though also somewhat disappointed that you are not quite as vicious as the rumors made you out to be. I suppose we must both be disappointed, then, as I am neither an assassin. Allow me to introduce myself: I am Akazo, known in some circles as Behemoth. If you would, I would like to discuss with you a business venture which I hope you might be inclined to humor."
As he spoke, Akazo's trunk dipped into his breast pocket, brushing past his katar and grabbing one paper of a deck, elegantly reaching it out toward Sen without any sort of sudden movement that might come off as threatening, bowing slightly such that the trunk could reach the puny person's height. What was handed out was a business card with "BEHEMOTH" and contacts written upon it. They weren't his personally, of course, but rather a broker who could get in contact with him, a necessary precaution when handing out information that could possibly incriminate oneself.

"Superior?" he laughed, a brutal noise that suggested no actual humor. "Keep telling yourself that but monkeys still fling their own feces and tigers still jump through the hoop. Nature is as nature demands. So what is yours?"
The knife flung back towards him and he made no move to stop or dodge it, only the sound of it as it clattered in the darkness. He was untouched.
Behemoth, the creature said. Revenant observed his surroundings, curious if this was by some means an ambush but he sensed no one and neither did Onryō.
So it is not of your mother's doing. Onryō grumbled. "So I can see." He said not to the other but to the voice in his head. This factor became quickly apparent and did serve to intrigue him if those words didnt spark the desire to bite out and tear through flesh. It was a challenge he would have been willing to enlighten the elephant of. However, years of his acquaintance with marionettist had taught him that sometimes patience could be a virtue so he took up some level of his family's fondness for strategy and applied it to the situation. "Well give me a moment, my mood is spoiling faster than I thought it might."
Despite his reputation for impulsive violence, he was quite good at games, chess in particular. As cocky as he could seem, he never underestimated an enemy blindly tho he also offered no opinion of them until they proved their worth in a fight.
His eyes followed the movement but didn't move to any sort of attack stance, not a flinch in his expression. Lazily he regarded the card before peeling red gloved hands from within his pockets. "Something tells me you won't be a hard guy to find, but fucking spit out your purpose. I'm getting bored." he plucked the card from the Behemoth's trunk. Maybe violet could track it if the need come, not that he cared at this point but things had a way of progressing negatively with him.

"And you attribute their submission to humanity's keen intellect, I suppose. Many would agree with such a point of view, but-," Akazo spoke until Revenant interrupted him, seeming to talk to himself... no, not to himself, the tones weren't quite right. Akazo split his mind in two trains of thought, one following what his conversation companion was saying and the other reviewing what he had already said. Indeed, earlier there was moment earlier, when they first encountered, when this person spoke to seemingly nobody in particular, not in so blatant away but nonetheless loud enough for Akazo's large and keen ears to pick up. Alone it might be simple eccentricity, but twice was a possible pattern. Certainly there was not enough evidence to fully know, but Akazo could project the pattern to various possible outcomes.
- The first and simplest explanation is that the man was thinking out loud, possibly being more comfortable verbalizing his thoughts. There are a few patterns of behavior which might emerge from this, such as whether it displays slowness of thought or a comfortability in communication, AKA loose lips. Certainly based on the "hot date" mentioned earlier, this one may very well be a social butterfly. Evidence against is the tone and directionality of the comments made, such is the difference of a "no" when dismissing one's own thought and a "No." shutting down another person's inquiry. While nothing is certain, as awkwardity and outliers exist, it may be worthwhile to explore the other options.
- The second simplest explanation is that the man is communicating with another. Perhaps a telepathy quirk. A small electronic communicator was less likely, as Akazo's analysis would bring up even a slight sound disturbance in the sound. Certainly there's the possibility it was soundproofed, which Akazo cannot outright dismiss, yet such things are both difficult and typically overkill. Based on the personality he's observed of the man, he is not so subtle as to be entrusted with espionage in a more refined manner, so why use such a concealed means of communication? The obvious tell being that Revenant would have spoken to this person right in front of Akazo, thus making any attempt at subterfuge nil. The alternative is a telepathy or communication quirk of some kind and there is another person privy to this discussion between them. Akazo could remove the possibility that there was an invisible or camouflaged person nearby that was secretly speaking with Revenant as well, for primarily the reason that Akazo would have noticed them with his sharp animalistic senses.
- The third explanation, somewhat more interesting, is the possibility that Revenant was speaking to himself and another. A second personality born either from the person's brain or their quirk, such cases were not unknown. Of course, there was little evidence to support this possibility, however the subject was a villain, and villains often did not blossom from the womb of great mental stability. To stretch a violent criminal to some sort of split personality or schizophrenia is no difficult feat. Still, it was little more than a guess, further data shall shed light on the matter.
Akazo blinked. With the memory analyzed and the possible scenarios simulated within the span of a second, the elephant would proceed accordingly to make best use of this information. Revenant has shown himself to be strong, or at least have a powerful quirk. This was obvious in not only his demeanor, but his responses to Akazo's statements that made it clear he did not consider himself "the tiger jumping through the hoop", quite an elitist personality, though the sentiment was not unlike Akazo's own and one would argue that few would admit themselves to be captives made to dance at the whim of their betters. Still, there was too much hubris, an entitlement that was common in those with strong quirks.
"So impatient," Akazo sighed deeply, taking his time to breathe and build to his point, a purposeful irritant he threw in to provoke the Revenant. Such pride must be trodden upon if one wished to attain complete domination of the spirit. "I would wish to utilize you for a variety of jobs, as well as have a monopoly on your services. In short, I desire to make you my subordinate."

"I would wish to utilize you for a variety of jobs, as well as have a monopoly on your services. In short, I desire to make you my subordinate."
...
Say what?
For a moment he stood there, staring at the brute like he had broken into some alien language or grown two heads. Then he curled over and started laughing, an obnoxious roar of sound that continued on well past the comfort limit, until he was nearly crying with it. "You want... hah... you want me... to be your he he... your subordinate??" And then the laughter halted, dead silence, limbs dropping until they dangled lazily for just a moment and then he lifted up. He expression was vacant, eyes a shade more dead than usual. Flecks of red in his iris as Onryō simmered on the surface, hungry like a wolf desperate for war. Lifting his hands up, red-gloved fingers composed a square frame in the air. "I'm sorry, I'm imagining your fucking head on my wall, but the dimensions are all off." Dropping his hands, he took a step forward. It gave him a second to reflect on his foe. He really was a big motherfucker, but size had never been all that important in a fight. He had killed big and he had killed small. They all rot the same way, in the end.
"You gotta be out of your fucking mind if you think I'm going to be a mother-fucking subordinate to some nobody fuck like you, you low-bred piece of over-sized shit." Every word hissed, dripping with venom. He couldn't think of anything more insulting than to ask him to be a subordinate. This bastard didn't know who he was, he must not have known what he was asking or who he was asking. He was a new player that paraded in thinking the world was shades of grey, ignorant to the real monsters on the playing field.
This guy has to be out of his fucking mind.
Does this mean you will let me out?
Not yet, he hardly deserves the glory.
"Who the fuck do you think you are offering me to serve you? I don't give a shit how big you are, I'm gonna peel the skin off your bones, hack you down until there's nothing left. Maybe I'll even sell your bits on the black market, just for fun. I'll give you a second to apologize though, I suggest you take my kindness and run, run away, you pathetic waste of my goddamn time."

As Revenant began spouting shit talk, Akazo simply began to roll up his sleeves, calm and cool with a look in his eye just asking 'You done yet?' It was always the same with these villains, a proof of worthiness typically climaxing in some sort of combat. There was certainly an appeal to it, both in its simplicity and proof of concept. Akazo pulled his right arm left and left arm right, across and over and spinning it around, then grabs his knees to pull the legs up in turn. After, he spun his upper body left and right, the popping of his joints quite loud, echoing down the empty streets. It was important to stretch before a workout, afterall.
"I believe it has been at least one second," Akazo states, rolling his shoulders and putting his fists up in a guard in front of his face. This both protected what some would consider his most vulnerable spot, his head, while allowing him to hide his trunk from sight while it would sneak into his breast pocket to grab the katar within. He steadied his breathing, preparing mentally and physically for what was to come, his whole body emenating tension. In the world of quirks, size was as likely to be a disadvantage and hindrance as it was to be useful, in truth more balanced and flexible quirks tended to dominate battles. Akazo was not blinded by his strength, but rather painfully aware of his strengths and weaknesses in excrutiating detail. "So come on, you yapping bitch."
He welcomed Revenant to initiate the fight, as it was unwise in both diplomacy and in combat for one such as himself to go on the offense first. The provocation with the insult was certainly a bait to take advantage of his opponent's apparent hubris. Should the Behemoth prove victorious, this first move would prove advantageous in future relations, the thought 'I gave you the first move, and I still one' acting as the undertone for any interactions they may have to provide Akazo with certain leverage in commanding respect. Of course, that assumes he doesn't die here.

So the fat bastard decided his fate was death.
Revenant reflected on the time, keeping Violet waiting was far more dangerous than any fight with this ugly bastard. However, he could not ignore a good fight. It had been too long. That was one of the issues of some level of notoriety, no one wanted to fight him anymore. So he had to give this fucker credit, at least he wasn't a coward. He was just fucking stupid.
Smiling at that pathetic excuse for an insult, he replied "Don't say I didn't warn you." And then he vanished from sight. Aggression was his usual tactic, flooding his opponents with relentless attacks until they finally caved and showed their throat, allowing him to cut them open slowly. This guy, this "Behemoth" sized up to his namesake. That didn't reward hesitation so much as a re-assessment of his normal strategy. The bigger they are the harder they fall right? And the idiot had chosen the literal worst place to start a villain fight, so keeping that in mind, he moved.
He reappeared then behind the brute, hands transformed into shadowy claws as he lashed out at an ankle. It served several purposes: to see how thick his skin was (considering he could claw through most matter, that seemed no issue), to judge the bastard's reaction time, and to potentially cripple as quick as possible.
If the guy wanted to be a big bad, he deserved a test to see if he was fit for it, right?
And if the heroes caught on, he wasn't even there. The big boy would make certain he wasn't noticed.

Akazo's eyes widened as Revenant disappeared from sight, but did not lose composure. He quickly ran through the possibilities: "High-Speed Movement" or "Invisibility". Within the Movement category, there was superspeed and teleportation as viable possibilities, either of which would be troublesome quirks but not impossible to deal with. Akazo could remove superspeed as a possibility for the moment due to the lack of feedback from the environment. While there was the possibility that the quirk accounted for such things, such perfect quirks were typically exceptions. Teleportation would be more of a challenge to determine, but not impossible. First, there were various forms of teleportation, this one seemingly acting as a sort of "blink" of their body from one position to another. There was no discernable distortion in the space around them, noticeable by airflow and would be better revealed by how exactly Revenant disappeared, which was near-instantaneous. Can he change the position of two spaces or possibly materialize himself in another location? Based on how the air is acting, it would at least be the former case, as the latter situation would cause a vacuum. Now, there was still the possibility of invisibility. In this case, there would be no difference in airflow in the area, which seemed to be the case. Such disturbances could be noticed by sound if not by touch. This possibility became further confirmed by the sound of footsteps. So, his quirk allows him to become invisible. It does not seem like simple camouflage, so does the light pass through him or does he bend it around himself with something akin to light manipulation?Despite being able to understand the general location of Revenant by the estimated length of Revenant's stride and the pace of the steps combined with the directionality and location of origin, Akazo lacked the ability to apply a more accurate echolocation to the situation. Still, knowing Revenant was still on the ground and his general distance was a blessing. It would seem that the villain meant to flank the elephantoid with this stealth, probably attack from behind or mount his back. In either case, Akazo had no intention of allowing this to occur. Giant's StepLifting his knee high, balancing momentarily on one leg, Akazo slammed his heel into the ground sending a shockwave through it, cracking the pavement around him. This kinetic ripple through the floor would reach about 5 meters from its origin point, or about 15 feet around Akazo. It wasn't damaging on its own, but was often enough to throw most averagely sized creatures up and off balance, causing them to fall. Of course, there was the possibility that they would jump to avoid it, given how telegraphed Akazo's technique was, yet this too was within his calculations. [In the case that Sen had taken some berth around Akazo] Immediately upon completing the Step, Akazo would perform slide a foot along the ground to perform a lunge toward Revenant's general direction and perform a horizontal sweeping swing of his arm from this lower stance, intent to whack Sen whether he leapt or had been tossed up. [In the case that Sen had taken a shorter route closer to Akazo] Immediately upon completing the Step, Akazo would pivot upon that same foot and bring a sweeping kick around toward Revenant's general direction, intent to whack Sen whether he leapt or had been tossed up. {Spoiler}{((Note))} Wasn't sure what route Sen took to get behind Akazo, but it would be something Akazo should have generally been able to get a grasp of via his hearing, so I gave two possibilities depending on whichever situation was true.
