Ever see a smile that big? Probably. Yukai Miru sits at a relatively normal height, a Japanese with red hair and green eyes. Truly, an oddity, but he doesn't let that slow him down. Because Yukai is hardly ever seen angry, sad, or depressed. Always with a band in his hair, and an open shirt due to his various levels of weight, Yukai sits with a thin build typically, though occasionally thanks to his Quirk gains a temporary set of pecs that disappear upon his Quirk's completed time limit.
PERSONALITY

RUMOR/SECRET: | "Yukai smiles a lot, right? I bet that's fake. I mean, how can someone be THAT happy?!" |
Yukai. What most call an optimist, full of silly little bits. Often a class clown, or attempting to be of 2-A, even when it hurts. He's the kind of guy who just wants to make everyone laugh or smile, and truly a hero in the making. Or so he likes to think. He's often labeled as Mr. Perfect of 2-A, despite the fact that he's not amazing at tests, or that his Quirk is a little unwieldy. But, he definitely embodies it as much as possible.
And then we start to dissect him, and you realize that that optimist is a sham. Yukai is riddled with countless insecurities that he is trying to work through. He's always self conscience about his appearance, because he wants to find love and can't accept his own body. Often, behind closed doors, does he curse his Quirk for its drawbacks. How does he cope? He eats more, and utilizes his Quirk more, making him extremely energetic and extremely lethargic. It's a clear cycle of problems, but the rabbit hole only deepens and deepens further. How?
His intelligence. He knows he isn't the smartest guy. In fact, he's on the list as one of the biggest blockheads of 2-A. Despite how sweet and lovable he is, he feels incredibly insecure when stacked up to those in 3-A, especially. And why not? They all look better than him, are more experienced than him, and above all, have Quirks that don't make them feel like horrible people. They don't sit and shovel down tubes of ice cream for their Quirk, no. They never have to. But it's almost a disorder with Yukai.
He's friendly. The type of guy who will easily make friends, but everyone makes friends with Yukai. They don't know what he really feels. They don't see what's underneath. The suffering. He doesn't reveal himself easily, but when those layers unravel, they see a horribly depressed boy who feels so inadequate about himself, coping by eating and reading cheesy romance novels for a love he knows he won't ever have because he's not comfortable with himself.
And don't even get him started on horribleness that is salmonella.

BACKGROUND HISTORY
PLACE OF BIRTH/HOMETOWN: | Kyoto, Japan |
PARENTS: | Jobu Miru (Father), Ai Miru (Mother) |
SIBLINGS: | Yume Miru (Sister) |
SIGNIFICANT OTHER: | N/A |
OTHER: | N/A |
Yukai was born to a loving family of heroes. His father was this strong, powerful man in the hero industry, known for his ability to turn energy into pure power. His name was 'Energizer' in Japan, known for being on a dozen of commercials, and having that lovely pretty boy smile. His mother owned a bakery, dealing with her own Quirk that was using calories on the fly. The bakery is still around, known as 'Teppen no Sakuranbo' (Cherry on Top). Upon his birth, Yukai had a twin sister. Fraternal twins. A bond that would forever be important to him.
While his sister was born Quirkless, Yukai was cursed with a mixture of his father and mother's Quirks, forcing his calories to act as his pure power. This was good and bad, because of the copious amounts of food he had to eat in order to make it work, and while he did want to be like hid dad when he was younger, he often overate and didn't burn enough of his calories to lose the weight. Because of this, elementary school was filled with people calling him 'Tubby', 'Fatty', 'Pooh Bear'. And those were the good ones. The bad ones would leave the boy depressed to go to school, affecting his grades.
His father and mother attempted to console him. It often worked, but the bullies would never let up. Tormenting him all throughout elementary school for being tubby. Junior high school was worse, because it was during there that the orange-haired boy could not get rid of the names. How could he? They all made fun of him for overeating. For shoveling food down his mouth. It was demoralizing. Girls would make-up having attractions to him for a joke, and guys would give him swirlies for being a 'cow'.
This stunted his social growth for a majority of his life, and would lead to some very dark, depressed thoughts that Yukai never wanted to think about ever again.
So. To change his image, he used his Quirk much more often, learning a stronger bit of control over it. How to turn the dial as hard as he could. He went on a diet for a good portion of junior high, and began working out. He began eating more, but using most of his calories to boot, trying to keep it in control. Turns out, the bullies wanted to get into U.A., so he aimed higher than them. He worked tooth and nail on his body. His his life. His body, the temple he had made it. His parents were proud of him.
But they didn't know that he was going in the opposite direction entirely.
Yukai worked out so much, focusing so much on his body that his mind would suffer because of his focus. He wasn't smart. In fact, most would put him below the average level of intelligence for a person his age. He managed to get by his bullies in middle school, and by the time of examinations, Yukai was put in the same group as them. Needless to say, his work paid off. He was number two on Destruction, having eaten a five course meal and a half before the exam began.
Needless to say. He nailed it. His bullies weren't so fortunate, having failed spectacularly. It was the best day of his life. But to think, he was so busy worrying about who he was on the outside, he didn't care much about what was inside.
His first year was rough. He didn't understand how to cope with classes, and deal with the schoolwork. It was difficult by itself. His classmates didn't seem to mind him, and in fact thought he had it all figured out. While he made it to the last round of his first Sports Festival, he was quickly eliminated. Even then, he had a number of internships that worked out well for him. Maybe from his father's connections? A lot of the class deemed him as Mr. Perfect because of his placement, yet he was anything but. Test scores seemed to be not the case. Tutoring was difficult to comprehend.
... and yet.
Yukai embraced the mindset. Nothing was wrong with him. Obviously. His Quirk made him borderline anorexic, and he tried his damnedest not to let it bother him. In fact, nothing bothers him from the outside. And in terms of acting for the rest of the year, he managed to keep it going. Fake it till you make it.
But it isn't. He's failing. He's not as smart as U.A. likes to think. He knows he's slipping, and he knows any moment he may crash and burn. But until then, he will be Mr. Perfect. He enters 2-A denying the problem. Because there is no problem. Admittedly, he hasn't had to confront the problem yet, and a lot of it has gone away. But how long can it last?

THE ARMORY
Yukai's Stress Chips - A bag of chips always on Yukai, mostly used in times of stress which he will eat the contents relentlessly.
Support Calorie Shakes - Know why they call them 'empty calories'? Simple. These shakes are condensed 1,000 calorie sugar drinks. And they taste as awful as liquid sugar can taste, with nothing to add to the taste. Each one is the size of a water bottle, and Yukai typically carries three around.
Calorie Monitor - Thanks to support students, Yukai has a constant eye on his calorie intake, as well as a timer for calorie burn time by a little device that detects eaten food and converts them to a rounded amount of calories. This gives Yukai some knowledge of how many he has on him.
Panda-Cased Cell Phone - Because he's a teenager... what? Pandas are cute!
Trashy Love Novel - OOOOOOOh that's volume #21. Look at that!

QUIRK & SKILLS
Calorie Burner
TYPE: Transformation
RANK/LEVEL: D+
SUMMARY:
Calorie Burner is a Transformation-based Quirk that works off of the system of energy known as calories within the human body, whereas by burning calories, Yukai can effectively multiply his strength. The more that's burned, the more strength he gains, which will never exceed the span of an hour in terms of a time limit. (10 posts or less). The more calories he burns, the less time he has (10k calories being 3 posts, 5k being 5 posts, 2k being 7 posts, 1k being 9 posts). By burning five-thousand calories before it's stored into body fat, he can essentially gain strength to lift a car. By burning ten-thousand calories before it's stored into body fat, he can lift two cars. Of course, this requires an excess of food to be eaten, and once the calories are burned they are gone for good, which should help with fat gain.
By using this chart, it's easy to see the super strength's variability:
- 1,000 calories - 5x Strength multiplier. (Five Yukai's worth of strength)
- 2,000 calories - 10x Strength multiplier (Ten Yukai's worth of strength)
- 5,000 calories - 25x Strength multiplier (Twenty-five Yukai's worth of strength)
- 10,000 calories - 50x Strength multiplier (Fifty Yukai's worth of strength)
Judging by this, if we assume that Yukai can lift about 200 pounds by time of reaching his second year, this puts his relative strength capability at 25x at about 5000 pounds of weight-lifting capability. A normal car these days is roughly 4000 pounds, so in theory, Yukai could lift it with relative ease. At 10,000 calories burned, this becomes almost a cake-walk, especially to throw a car. A bus is still about 22,000 pounds, so not quite there, but 10,000 pounds is still a lot to work with. The hour time limit has no ability to be extended, however by burning more calories during the time limit, he can become stronger, though it can never go backwards.
During the time of which he is under Calorie Burner, his body gains temporary muscles dependent on how many calories he burns.
WEAKNESSES/LIMITATIONS:
In theory, the Quirk is powerful, right? But it starts to fall apart to shambles when we see the weaknesses behind it. Firstly, burning calories like that is a strenuous process, and it has to be done all that you want, or not at all. Meaning that, at the time of activation, the amount he burns is the amount he gains. So, if he burns 2,000 calories, he's stuck with the strength of 10 Yukais, at about 2,000 pounds until the hour time limit is up. He can ADD to this by burning more calories, but never SUBTRACT ones he has given, though this does give him shorter time for his strength. This is unfortunately a process that MUST finish as it is expelling calories from the body, and cannot be stopped once undergone. No if, ands, or buts.
Adding to this, the calories have to be in the body already, so Yukai literally has to eat the amount of calories before they are turned to fat. Now, you think this is easy to juggle, but it really isn't and becomes a source for Yukai's depression on his own appearance. Calories are stored as fat in 4-8 hours after consumption of food for a normal human being, and unfortunately for Yukai, this is a problem. Because for Yukai, the upper scale does not apply; the calories are stored in four hours or less. This means, within four hours, Yukai must eat effectively four times the normal bodily intake in a four hour period to gain all the strength he needs. This is effectively eating five pizzas by yourself in under four hours. Hate yourself yet? How do you think Yukai feels all the time?
So aside from having to force himself into a self-loathing of overeating, he has to deal with the repercussions if he doesn't burn the calories in time. The plot thickens though, because for Yukai, he cannot overexert his Calorie Burner. Why? Because he's still a human being, and still requires calories for energy to begin with. Overexertion provides the exact opposite problem, because not enough calories leaves him lethargic and sleepy, to the point of passing out if all of his calories go right to strength. So he still has to find a balance of enough calories as a human being, which is where the next problem sets in. How does he control how much he burns?
He can't; at least, not well enough. He can shoot in the general ball-park, and that's in no way to blame lack of trying. To think of this Quirk, think of a dial setting from 1 to 10, where the rest of the numbers in-between are not labeled. For Yukai, 10 equals passing out, and 1 equals essentially off. While he can definitely stay away from 10, he doesn't know much much strength will be given to him, but can get a general estimate of how much he can expend. We know this from the general multipliers, but those are very generalized, and are not a perfect representation.
Aside from this, Yukai's depression also causes it's own set of issues in the redhead. He prefers close to overdoing it due to his uncomfortable feeling in his body, which is a dangerous mindset to have. He doesn't want to allow himself to gain any weight due to bullies calling him a fatty at a young age, and it has stuck with him for so long that it has negatively reinforced the idea of passing out being a better alternative to being healthy. He tries to be better, but he doesn't know how.

Weight Lifter
RANK/LEVEL: C
SUMMARY:
In order to get the most out of his Quirk, Yukai occasionally heads to the gym in order to raise his own muscles properly, in order to positively affect the base of the strength multiplier. Five times fifty is much stronger than two, after all. Because of his weight lifting, he is able to lift a total of 220 pounds.
