Bureizu is a tall and lean man with a near constant scowl. He tends to wear clothes similar to above when teaching elementary Hero Legal, or when doing hero exercises or out on patrol, his hero suit. He's also pretty dexterous, able to even fire his bow with his feet/legs, though his accuracy suffers. He's in a pretty decent shape, though with a slight emphasis on his upper body strength. He's also fairly flexible, to the point of even able to hold himself up with his arms, and use his feet to fire his bow and arrow above his head. He's aged quite well, almost still looking like he's in his twenties, despite being forty years old.

RUMOR/SECRET: | How is he a hero?! He was a street kid! |
Bureizu was a foster kid. And didn't really trust anyone at first. While he has loosened up a lot since he was a kid, it's still kind of hard for him to do open up to someone let alone trust them with his back. It was the hardest part of him being a hero, to allow himself to be supported by officers, emergency workers, and other heroes. He didn't want to be seen as weak for doing so. But even the strongest of heroes need support...a hard lesson he had learned from his now second in command of his agency when he was away (most of the time now).
He's generally pretty civil, and tries to be as understanding and accommodating as possible, keeping a cool and calm bad boy like persona. He believes in second chances, having been given one himself, but also has no remorse for more serious crimes, particularly the yakuza and gangs. Though he does tend to take it easy against the children in those groups. That said, he still dishes out some hurt and tries his best to give them some words to live by, hoping to change their direction. Or even stick his neck out to give them a second chance if he thinks they have potential or even a ghost of a chance at change. That was how he got two of his four sidekicks.
He's easily annoyed, but actually hard to piss off. So he really doesn't like trolls, as he finds them super annoying, both when he's playing video games, and his students. Though he does enjoys antics that are comically effective at their goal, particularly if they're heroic. It's a quick way for students to endear him to them. Though he also takes special interest in problem students or those with questionable backgrounds. He often does internships for those that were undecided or couldn't find one in time, and even the occasional work study.
He generally tries to keep a level head, and think things through. And be the best role model he could. But also acknowledges that every hero has their own style. He also fully agrees with Meka-sensei's harsh methods, though feels like they should be more reserved for 2nd and 3rd year students, and give the 1st years time to train and be educated. That said, he seems much more emotional and empathetic than his coworker. He likes to create brutal hostage rescue, investigation, and disaster relief scenarios, mostly for 2nd and third year students.
He has a bit of a tough shell, but he is also gooey on the inside. Once you get inside his heart, you stay there...unless you go on a murdering spree or betray his trust. Then he's vindictive, and will go after you. Though often still works within the law.

BACKGROUND HISTORY
PLACE OF BIRTH/HOMETOWN: | Tokyo |
PARENTS: | Unknown |
SIBLINGS: | Unknown |
SIGNIFICANT OTHER: | None for now |
OTHER: | Nubs (a grey minx cat) |
Bureizu was left on the doorstep of an old couple's home, who then immediately called the police. He was left with only a name. After some investigation, there was no one with the same surname as him, either as a maiden name or otherwise. He was sent to foster care. He was a rowdy boy, always fussing, and getting into arguments and fights. Once he turned four, he discovered his quirk, and accidentally set the house on fire. He vomited all over himself before passing out from a single fire arrow use.
While lightly traumatized that he set his foster family's house on fire, and apologizing to them, crying all the while, he still wasn't happy with the world, though refused to use his quirk again for a long time. He took an interest in archery, more as a way to calm himself than anything. While it worked somewhat, he still got into fights, and got bad grades. He had even disappeared on the foster family for five months, living on the streets, when he was thirteen.
Joining a gang, he started to practice with his quirk a bit, enhancing his endurance and usage. Only reason he even went to school anymore was for his archery club, which while he was getting very good at, no one really interacted with him. His gang eventually threw him under the bus when they got caught doing a few things illegal, and his foster family never reported him missing, and just turned their backs on him. This, combined with the other kids generally ignoring him or leaving him alone, culminated in him having trust issues. Which only got worse later.
Once while chilling at his normal spot, a year later, he had spotted yakuza punks that never came this way before harassing a group of girls. Despite his bad boy looks and persona, and his own aloof and uncaring nature, he always minded his own business, but something in him demanded that he interfered in that debacle. After telling the punks to back off before he called a hero or the police, they did so, saying he'd regret it. After double checking if the girls were alright, he left, thinking that was the end of that.
It wasn't. Four days later, a gaggle of the punks came into the neighborhood, and started to harass everyone in the area. Bureizu had just gotten out of school, and done with club activities. He found them around his normal hangout spot, the same punks along with their little group. A fight occurred. At the time, he was limited to only about 8-10 normal fire arrows a day.
The punks had eventually had to resort to taking hostages, though Bureizu had somehow worked around them and protected them, bringing in a lot more anger and rage at them for bringing in others. Numbers won out, but a hero, backed by several police, had barricaded the area and moved in, assisting just in time. The hero could have interfered sooner, but had a gut feeling about the kid, and decided to watch him.
The next day, Bureizu was getting charged with vigilantism and several other crimes. But the hero that was there butted into his business, and defended him, at the risk of that hero's own reputation and standing. No one had ever done this before, and Bureizu was suspicious at first. After a long talk, Bureizu made an agreement with the hero that he would try for UA high school. But the hero would prepare the kid for it. Still suspicious, it was a way for him to get out of trouble, so he took it.
With the preparation and training done, he passed the tests enough to get into Class 1-B on his own power. Throughout the school year, he would still meet that hero, who had slowly eased him out of his trust issues somewhat. And told him that he was a hero both of those days. "I'm no hero. I'm just a guy that meddled when my gut told me to..."
"That's what heroes do. The good ones at least."
Even throughout the years at the school, that stood out to him. He took his internship and work study with that hero. He still hated to look weak, so he often ignored any kind of help. But soon learned shortly after graduation when he was almost killed that cooperation was a must in the hero world. It wasn't a full lesson learned, but it was a lesson starting to become familiar to him.
He had gotten a new tattoo a couple years later, to commemorate his joining the hero that took him in. In that time frame, he learned a bit about the legalities of heroes, what was expected of them, what they can and can't do, etc. as extra lessons, and was ahead of his class in many of these areas. He'd also been seeing a street kid that always looked banged up. He told his mentor, who told him to do what his gut told him too, and smiled. The light-red/pink haired man started to talk to the guy.
It became apparent very quickly that something was wrong. After some investigation, it was found that he'd been abused and more by his parents and grandparents, among other things. B told the teenager what he'd found, and asked if it was alright for him to tell the police and everything. Unfortunately, the kid also had a record, mostly petty stuff, and had a reputation for lying. Still, he wanted to help the kid.
Eventually, he caught the parents in the act of beating him senseless, to the point of breaking the door. He used his flame arrows to brand both parents to let them know who caught them. It was initially just to be vindictive and revenge driven, but he soon became his current hero name, Firebrand. He put his own reputation, which had improved greatly since middle school, on the line for the kid. With his mentor's backing, combined with evidence, they saved the kid, who would later return as a hero in training and asking to be an intern.
B's mentor made sure that he was aware of how proud he was of his student, and five years later, suggested he started his own agency. B denied that he was ready for it, but his mentor pushed him with the proper paperwork to transfer ownership of his agency to B. The fire user was shocked, but his mentor was getting up there in age. In tears, he'd promised he would continue to make him proud.
The next year was tough, and nearly got killed several times, if it weren't for the kid he'd saved, and a couple of police officers, he would be. He got an earful, but started to listen more about trusting others, and letting others watch his back a bit more. At thirty years old, his agency was on track with what he believed what his mentor wanted it to be and more. And soldiered on, adding on three more sidekicks, and taking on many jobs, from hostage rescue to disaster relief.
The next year, he started part-time to get educated for teaching high school. He was going to give back to UA, much like his mentor did, but in his own way. After six years in school to become a teacher, he applied at UA, and was given the job, using his experience to help students prepare.

THE ARMORY
His hero suit consists of combat boots, skinny jeans, a form fitting red long sleeved shirt with a white bow and arrow emblem on it, and another purple jacket shirt over that. His socks are black, and fit like a glove would (a "slot" for each toe), and also has a pair of red archer's gloves. All of these can handle 500 degrees F without catching on fire themselves.
He also carries two steel, collapsible batons, a taser (15 foot range), and a stun gun (close range shocking). He also has a cell phone tied into his tracking arrows. All in holsters, the batons on his thighs, both taser and stun gun behind those, and the cell phone at his hip.
He holds two different arrow quivers/holders, one over his shoulder on his back, and another at his lower back. One has actual offensive arrows, the other holds more support arrows. His offensive arrows are: 10 normal arrows, 5 small explosive arrows (just powerful enough to blow a hole 3 inches in diameter, in wood), 3 medium explosive arrows (can blow a hole 8 inches in diameter, in wood), and 1 high explosive arrow (can blow a hole a foot and a half in diameter, in wood, and is hardly ever used).
His support arrow list includes: 5 smoke bomb arrows (when they hit something, they release a cloud of smoke 20 feet wide, with a 3 foot visual range (at 3 feet is shadows)), 5 small tracking arrows (these arrows are 60% the length of the others, just barely large enough to be used with a bow, and sticks onto their target, they can transmit up to 4 posts, but also has a range of 50 yards before they're out of range of transmission. They can easily be taken off by a normal person pulling them.) and 5 tear gas arrows (3 yard effective radius) and 5 flash bang arrows (causes disorientation and blurry vision for one post due to the flash and loud bang.).
Lastly, he has a custom bow, detailed below in a picture. The spikes (there are four in total, two more are on "top" of where he holds it) are mostly cosmetic, but will stab into someone without real protection (normal clothes, no quirk usage) and break them off. The bow is a super gadget, though not a typical one. It can act as a conduit, allowing him to channel his quirk through it, though much more controlled. He sacrifices 40% of power for being able to use his special techniques and quirk much longer (12 posts) and much more accurately. The red design glows when his quirk is being channeled through it.

QUIRK & SKILLS
Flame Bow and Arrow
TYPE: Emitter
RANK/LEVEL: A-
SUMMARY:
Bureizu can form a bow made of fire, and use it to fire arrow bolts of fire in varying shapes, sizes, barrages, ranges, and strengths. These arrows do follow ballistic trajectory as well, so he could lob, but quick math isn't his forte.
Warning Shot: A thin flame arrow that is just strong and hot enough to leave a small blister and char mark. With his bow, feels like a tiny pinch of hot metal from grinding off metal hitting you. Not enough to deal any real damage. 100 yard accurate range.
Arrow Shot: Bureizu's standard fire arrow. It's strong enough to punch through most of a vehicle door, and hot enough to leave more than just blisters and a char mark, it hurts and burns. Can be modified with a 3 inch diameter orb at the end instead of an arrow, letting almost punch through a vehicle door, and usually leaving bruises, scorch marks, and usually knocking a full grown adult onto the ground. 100 yard accurate range.
Fire Rain 1: He fires a thick fire arrow 70 yards into the sky, which then explodes like fireworks, engulfing a 60 yard area in weak flames. About like getting a shower of hot shrapnel from a grinder cutting a piece of metal off. A nice rain shower of embers for a single post.
Fire Rain 2: He fires a thick arrow 70 yards into the sky, then explode like fireworks, sending a rain of stronger flames, though less dense, in a 30 yard area. Difficult to do so, but is possible to weave through to avoid getting hit by the flames, which is strong enough to put a dent in vehicles equal to a golf ball sized piece of hail. There are two waves of this in a post. 1 post cooldown.
Fire Rain 3: He fires a thick arrow 70 yards into the sky, then explode like fireworks, sending a small rain of arrows down, each strong enough to put baseball sized dents in vehicles in a 15 yard radius. There are 3 waves of this in a single post, but isn't very thick. 2 post cooldown.
Sniper's Flame: A blue flamed arrow is shot out, strong enough to go through armored vehicles, and semi-cauterizes wounds it makes, and is very painful. It has the longest effective range of his fire arrows, 175 yards. 2 post cooldown.
Searing Flame: A super hot flame that completely cauterizes the wound it creates, so they don't cause bleeding, but is exceptionally painful. It can easily melt through a bank vault. 50 yard effective range. Is identified by being blue-white in color. 3 post cooldown.
Shotgun Flame: A larger fire arrow is fired that then splits off into 15, separate, but smaller arrows, each with enough punch to put a four inch diameter dent in a vehicle. Effective range is 20 yards, but minimum range is 5 yards.
Barrage Flame: A single fire arrow is fired, but then splits off into a barrage of fire arrows, each strong enough to bruise most people, with 3-5 able to put most grown men on their butts. This is difficult to dodge. 1 post cooldown. 10 yards minimum range, but effective range of 75 yards.
Force Blast: A big arrow that simply blows hot air away from him, allowing him to move in mid-air and away. A burst of movement. It's used to soften his landings or knock himself away from an opponent. If used in front of a person, it'll feel like a massive burst of hot air hit them, but does no damage. It will let him "jump" 20 feet if used from a standing position.
Supermove: Branding Flame: He fires a flame hot enough to leave a permanent scar on most people. It is not meant to penetrate, but does have enough physical force to send a normal adult male 20 feet back and bruise ribs/bones. His brand is simply the kanji of his hero name, Firebrand, to make sure the villain will always have a permanent reminder of who brought them to justice. Effective range is 125 yards. 3 post cooldown.
WEAKNESSES/LIMITATIONS:
His flames run off of the oxygen in his blood. Without his special bow, if he uses one of his special moves a post (Fire Rain 1 and below on the list), or 5 of his normal arrows a post, he can use his quirk for 8 posts (12 with his special bow) before being too out of breath and light headed. At this point, he moves like he's drunk, is nauseous, and isn't a credible threat.
Despite being a good archer, his fire bow makes it difficult to aim, both with how powerful his attacks are and the fact the fire bow is unstable, making it difficult to see where he's specifically aiming.
At short ranges, it's easier to see where he's aiming and avoid his narrow field of fire, particularly under his barrage moves minimum ranges. While skilled in close combat, he's a normal person.
The only special move he can use when he's underwater is his force blast, which even then, assuming he's close to the surface, will only propel him about 2-3 feet out of the water, and only if he uses his special bow, not his fire bow (it will be put out immediately). Heavy rain puts a heavy damper on his quirk, almost forcing him to use his strongest fire arrows just to be able to do damage, or wait until they're really close, less than 30 yards.
He has a slow reload rate, having to pull back the "string" every time to fire an arrow.
Wind/air based quirks can get troublesome as they could make his arrows miss or make them explode due to an influx of oxygen.
He can't use his fire arrows in a melee (take one and use it as a makeshift spear), as they'll immediately dissipate and still have an effect on him.

Archery
RANK/LEVEL: A-
SUMMARY:
One of the few things that kept him in line, Bureizu is an excellent archer, going on to nationals, and being in top ten in high school. He doesn't miss a bullseye often, and has a small spread, only an inch and a half spread. Against a moving target, it's rare that he misses, but in combat, there is no guarantees.
Baton User
RANK/LEVEL: B+
SUMMARY:
He was trained by police and self defense instructors in how to use batons to defend himself. He got good enough to be a healthy challenge to his expert instructors, but overall still lost the majority of his matches with them.
Street Kid Brawler
RANK/LEVEL: B+
SUMMARY:
He has no official training of any kind, but growing up mostly in the streets made him into an effective brawler, able to punch with the best of them, even taking on those with actual styles with even skill and ferocity, most times.
