Aki hadn't meant to break the door. It had just happened. It wasn't anything dramatic, no splintering of wood, no fanfare, no villainous cackling. In the scheme of things that went regularly went on in UA, it really was nothing. He had just wanted to pop into the library during lunch to return some research materials, and had done the thing people do when faced with doors and handles -- which was to say, tried to pull it open. Had not, unfortunately, noticed that it was locked; the "out for lunch" tag hanging off a nail, swinging just above his line of sight. Had not noticed that, having weathered years of overeager schoolchildren, the screws attaching the handle to the door were coming loose.
Had, in fact, noticed the moment the handle came loose with a pop.
It wasn't a problem he couldn't solve, of course. There weren't many problems he couldn't solve; he was sure he could pay off whatever damages he incurred. How expensive could a single handle be? It was the absurdity of the situation that had him momentarily stumped. He had handful of handle. The library door was still locked. The corridor behind him was empty, thank whichever lords were out there. No one had yet to witness his ignominious defeat by door.
Aki took a breath, and centered himself. Let his usual calm settle over him like a blanket. He had to find a teacher; explain the problem; offer to pay for the damages. The handle was too big for him to stuff into his pocket, and he'd left his bag in class. He'd have to hold it. Like Lady Liberty, wielding her torch high; except his was a footlong chrome stick that had the words "PULL" engraved down the center. He could make it work. It was a conversation starter, if anything. A neat little punchline.
...
He had a handful of handle, what the heck.

Jun was walking towards the library with a key. The librarian had forgotten something, and since Jun was known to go there and quietly work away on his laptop, he was charged to go get it. Just a little something in the office. Not like he really needed a key to get in, he could always pick the lock. Still, as much as he didn't mind doing it, he was annoyed. But staying on the man's good side would be beneficial for everyone involved. Though he hadn't been there for a couple days...last time he was there, he met Emiko-senpai. The beautiful (and lewd) slime boy that can change his shape and form at will. And was a second year hero course student. Blushing, he shook his head. No time to think about what happened then.
The five foot five blond rounded the corner to find a brown haired student staring at the library door handle that wasn't attached to the door anymore. Probably wondering what the hell to do with that. Jun started to chuckle. Accidents happen, but this was really quite funny. Walking over to the boy and how the handle went on, he tinkered a bit with his lock-pick set, and the other half of the handle popped out the other side, along with the lock. "The librarian is in the teacher's lounge. Give me a minute to grab something for them quick, and I'll take you to them." Walking in, and finding the office, he looked for the container of food. Finding the clear container of cake, he closed back up the office, grabbed the remaining lock and put it into his pocket, then the other half of the door handle, he started down the hall.
"Mind if I ask how that happened?" His green eyes shown with amusement.

Like a switch flipping on, the sound of footsteps rounding the corner to library had Aki straightening up, his face going blank of its former befuddlement; a windshield wiper wiping off all expression. Aki had expected to field some questions, maybe weather a bewildered stare or two. What he didn't expect was for Jun to, without barely any preamble, fish a set of lockpicks out of thin air, and to start picking at the lock on the library door.
With a click, the door opened. Aki waited, as Jun darted into the office, and emerged with a container of cake. With just as little preamble, Jun started down the hall. And, ah, here came the inevitable line of questioning; he had been hoping they would skip this part, but alas.
"Oh, you know. Tried to open the door," Aki kept pace with Jun, twirling the door handle between his fingers like a drum major's baton. "Failed to open the door. Accidentally broke the door. Same old, same old."
He had questions of his own, however. Catching the door handle mid-spin in the palm of his hand, metal cold against the sliver of exposed skin peeking through his glove, Aki pointed one end of it at Jun with a lackadaisical flick of his wrist. "That's a pretty unconventional skillset you have, by the way." He knew a school that specialised in training heroes would attract its far share of eccentrics, but he hadn't thought larceny would be encouraged among the morally upright and do-gooder heroes UA was supposed to breed. Though, he had to admit, lockpicking was a convenient skill to have. "You're taking the cake to the librarian, and not stealing, right? It'll be awkward explaining to the librarian how you broke into his office and burgled his cake, especially if you're planning to be there while I'm doing so."

Jun giggled at what had happened. Surely the maintenance staff were that bad. Or door handles just went unnoticed. Which he supposed was possible. Grinning after the couple of statements, he pulled out the keys the librarian had given him. "Started as a dare...just kind of continued and practiced since. Figured the skill would be good for stealth missions, even if my quirk is too flashy for it. If you hadn't have broken the door, the keys would have worked fine." To prove that the keys were the right ones, he stuck them inside the door lock on the one the other boy had. And turned it. It felt a little awkward, but it worked nonetheless. Even if there was nothing there to lock into. Taking the keys out, he stuffed them back into his pocket.
"I'm Jun Tomoshibi of class 1-A. What about you? I don't recognize you from class H, and you don't seem like a senpai..." And he hadn't seen any new names on the student chat. Actually, it's been pretty quiet lately. Which was probably a good thing.
It didn't take long to get the lounge though. Upon entry, the librarian looked at the door handle slung on Jun's arm, and the one in the other boy's hand, raising an eyebrow for the unspoken question. Handing the guy the cake, and taking out the pieces of the door lock that Jun had and placing them on the table, he pointed at the dark haired boy. "You gotta listen to this. It's actually pretty funny..."

"Hero studies, huh? Sounds tough," Aki hummed, non-committal and perfunctory. He gave Jun a sideways glance. The boy was only a scant few inches taller than Aki, and scrawny to boot. All big eyes and delicate features. He didn't look like the hero sort -- but what did Aki know? He grew up on MTV, not HeroTV. "Close, but no cigar. You're one classroom off. Aki, 1-I."
Between Hyousuke and Jun, it seemed like the hero studies course seemed to attract that breed of student that didn't pay attention to entertainment news. It made sense, of course. There were children of major heroes thronging these corridors; the children of people who saved the world, or some minute segment of it -- and even those rescues of a smaller scale seemed greater feats than just sitting and smiling for cameras, both morally and in print. That, and, Aki supposed, it was the natural tendency of those vying to be heroes to rise above the concerns of the common milieu.
This relative anonymity was new; Aki had grown up shaking hands with people who knew who he was even before they met, who would ask for his name purely out of courtesy. But, it wasn't at all unwelcome. Having people look at him and not expect to do something, be some way -- he didn't dislike it.
Somewhere in between their self-introductions, they had reached the staff lounge, and, oh, there it was! Aki's lips twitched as the librarian's pupils panned slowly from left to right, travelling from the door handle slung on Jun's arm, to the one Aki was still casually spinning on the flat of his palm. The befuddlement in his expression almost made Aki's initial predicament worth it. Almost.
As Jun pointed a finger at him, Aki raised his arm, giving the librarian a flippant wave, the fluorescent overhead lights of the room glinting off the reflective metal of the offending handle. "Yo, sensei," he greeted. "Funny story: I broke the door. It was an accident." He pointed the handle in Jun's direction, and then at the dismantled pieces of the door's lock. "He broke-and-entered. ... Not an accident, I think?"
He moved forward, placing the handle down on the table beside the pieces of the lock, readying his best salesperson-esque did-no-wrong smile. "I'll pay for all the repair fees, and any replacement parts necessary. Let me know what the total sum comes up to."
"And, you." He turned his smile on Jun. "Have you eaten? I'll pay for your lunch."

"It is, but so is business, especially in a field as competitive as heroics. Just in a different way." As distasteful as it was that corporations got involved in heroics, some ironically so.
Jun also gave the librarian their keys back. "Yeah, not an accident. Tomoshibi-kun has been in and is the most well behaved student I've seen come in. I gave him those keys to get my cake for me. Truth be told, that door handle has been here since the school was built...it probably needed to be replaced anyways. Don't worry about it. Thanks Tomoshibi-kun. Both of you are dismissed if this is all the pieces of it." After that, the blond walked away with a smile.
"I did...though unless you're as loaded as Mika-senpai or Raph-san, I'll eat you out of your account. I'll take some nudes though~" He winked playfully at the pretty businessman. In a bit of a joking matter. Good grief, Emiko-senpai must have corrupted him. Depending on the guy's reaction, from a blank stare to outright blushing, Jun would chuckle or outright laugh. "That was a joke. I think Emiko-senpai corrupted me a bit. In all seriousness, I don't mind a lunch date sometime. Or if you have time after class, we could go out to a cafe I know." Hopefully he'd be pretty open minded. So far, he has yet to encounter any homophobic bullshit at UA. But there was a first for everything.
Besides, the guy seemed like he was used to compliments and such...if he could take that joke as a compliment.

"Oh no, I'm very poor. Absolutely bereft," Aki said, voice sing-song, not even trying to hide how he was lying through his teeth. Mika-senpai and Raph-san -- it took some extrapolating, but Aki assumed he was referring to Mikaku Dokumi and Raphael Seraphine. Financial powerhouses, big names; and here Jun was, referring to them by nickname. An easy familiarity --
-- that he seemed to be extending, uninvited, to Aki as well. Jun's proposition for nudes had Aki blinking once, slowly. He had caught on to the playful tone in Jun's voice, had recognised that the request was -- probably -- made in jest, but he hadn't that foreseen that left turn in the conversation. It wasn't the sort of statement that regularly came up around Aki; not the sort of thing the propriety-obsessed milieu he ran with would deign to utter. Polite company, and what have you. Mikaku, Raphael, and a mysterious, apparently-influential Emiko-senpai; just what sort of company did Jun keep?
Still, it was a joke; Jun had said as much. It would be bad form if Aki didn't play along, just for a bit.
"My, my." He pressed a hand to his chest, fluttered his eyelashes -- a scandalised virgin maiden on the edge of swooning. "How salacious. We've only just met!" Then, he straightened and smirked, a cryptic grin playing at his lips. "And, you couldn't afford me, anyway." It was partly true: Aki was technically a salaried model -- he had just kept his clothes on throughout his career so far.
"How about this: you take me somewhere nice, and I'll pick up your tab; we'll take a rain-check on the nudes until -- " he hmmed aloud, making a show of pondering the appropriate number. " -- the third, no, fourth date, at least. And, that's if you buy me flowers."

Was this guy another rich, pretty boy? At least Aki was much closer to Jun's height than Mika-senpai. Still, he liked that the young man didn't hide that he probably could afford Jun's eating habits with a sing-a-long voice. Then again, he did try to pay for a new door handle. That really should have been indication enough. Still, the jest went over well, and he even made one of his own. "Oh? We may not be as loaded as Mika-senpai and Ralph-san, but that doesn't mean we haven't done very well for ourselves, despite my parents' professions. Although I do like your proposal better. Though that's more for the fifth date, but I think I can manage the fourth and some good flowers." He wasn't promiscuous by any means. Heck, he was only fifteen! He wasn't going to do anything like that! Let alone so easily.
He was about to turn the corner when he had to make sure of something. "Seriously, I wouldn't mind going out on a date tonight, I am still single, sadly. And gay. And I don't know you very well...but you seem like you're easy to get along with. So I hope not all of that was a joke. If the first date goes well, I wouldn't mind a second, and so on. So if you're not gay or anything like that, you better speak up now. You won't hurt my feelings any, and I don't mind being friends." Aki didn't seem too used to not being known or famous...maybe Jun should do a little bit of research on the guy. But only after the second date. Assuming he swung the same way the blond did.

His tongue caught, tangling midway to his next jest.
Oh.
Oh, he was serious?
The line of Aki's spine went stiff, a chill creeping up his back, a wet blanket tossed over his former humor. He had no problem with Jun liking boys; that was fine. More power to him, and what have you. A nice boy like him could surely find another nice boy to do whatever nice boys did. It was just that Aki couldn't reciprocate. Shouldn't. Didn't. Whichever. Something like that.
He slid his finger over the cuffs of his sleeve, tugged at it, straightening out the wrinkles. Smiled at Jun; his customer-service smile, the one he used to turn away reporters, all nice and sweetly apologetic and I'm flattered by your interest, but I'm not taking questions at the moment, thank you.
"Sorry," he said, encouraging and earnest, no trace of his internal conflict audible in his voice. "I'm flattered, but I don't think I'm what you're looking for."
"Though, I suppose it's my fault for leading you on." He laughed. An easy diversion; a deliberate attempt at lightening the atmosphere, at waving them on from the topic at hand. "I hope you'll still let me pay for one of your meals, though. It's the least I could do, considering you saved me from having to break the door down myself. That wouldn't have ended half as well."

Aww...he got rejected. Oh well. "That's debatable. You're very cute. And seem easy to get along with. But alas, point taken. You weren't really leading me on, you were just playing along. Which was fine by me. There are those that aren't so open minded. Granted, I haven't seen any here, but that doesn't mean they're not out there. Being playful like that was actually fun, I don't mind doing it again." He shrugged it off. Seriously, it's why he asked first before he got his hopes up. Still, playing around like that was pretty fun. Then came the topic of paying for a meal. "I never say no to a free meal~" While it was in a sing-a-along voice, he also lecherously trailed his eyes up down the other boy. For the innuendo. Giggling a little, he knew just the place. "I know a great sushi place that's somewhat close by if you want to meet up after school. UA students get a bit of attention though, so might be good to change out of uniform before hand. Not that you can't handle it...you seem like the type to handle attention quite well."With that, he'd separate from the teenager to head back to class. ~ He decided on his punk boi outfit for this after school meal. Like normal, he was the last one to arrive. Waving at the boy, he started to walk there. "Hope you weren't waiting long. We should get there just before the big rush. Are you a fan of seafood?"(Jun outfit minus the goggles)

Aki laughed, the ball of tension in his back unknotting. The way Jun trailed his eyes up his body as he joked had Aki feeling something that bordered on discomfort, but wasn't quite that. He set it aside. Jun had taken his rejection well. That was good.
"I'll see you after school," he said, raising his fingers in a wave at Jun, before he made his way back to his classroom.
--
He took his time changing after class, slipping into his usual fare of something non-descript, clean-cut, and with the brand names embroidered into the labels: a loose, off-white cotton shirt, a coffee-coloured knit cardigan, and a matching pair of slacks. He slipped a cream facemask over his mouth, just in case; he'd take it off when they reached the restaurant.
Picking out his attire had taken a while, so he only reached their meeting spot slightly earlier than Jun himself. They were both fashionably late, and Jun especially so. He arched an eyebrow as Jun approached. It his turn to trail his eyes up and down Jun's body, eyeing his outfit with interest. "Seafood's great," Aki said, by way of greeting, motioning for Jun to lead the way. "Let's be on our way, then. I can't wait for you to eat me out of house and home."
"Very bold choice of clothes, by the way; I feel woefully underdressed," he couldn't help but add. It might have sounded sarcastic, but Aki really was impressed; he liked people who put effort into their appearance, superficial as it was. It came with his trade, he supposed.

Jun grinned a little. Aki was certainly less flashy than he expected...but that wasn't a bad thing. Of course, he did say that they should be a little discreet. Though Aki still looked nice in his mundane outfit. "It is one of my more flashier outfits I guess. Most of what I have is more mundane, but I also have a wide variety of them. If you ever want to hang out and check out what I have, feel free to stop by the 1-A dorms. Just don't expect me to change in front of you. You shouldn't feel bad though...you still look nice, but I doubt you could look bad..." He led the way. Some people sounded a little sarcastic, but if this guy was a part of the entertainment industry, it might not be. So he didn't really judge or anything. Even the face-mask didn't bother him at all.
It really didn't take long to get there. Luckily there wasn't a line, but they were a little bit early. They were seated at the sushi bar. "So what do you do in your free time?" It was a basic question, but just sitting and eating was boring, plus he didn't mind making another friend.

"Don't worry: we did establish that nudes are a fourth date thing," Aki said, keeping pace with Jun as he led the way. He tugged at the ribbed collar of his cardigan, contemplative. "And, I don't know about that. I can't say I've tried wearing a potato sack before. Don't suppose you have something like in that well-stocked dorm wardrobe of yours?"
He studied the décor of the restaurant as they entered, distractedly trailing after Jun as they took their seats at the sushi bar. Aki had only started venturing out to -- places frequented by people of less means than his family after he entered UA. (Only started being allowed to venture out, really.) There was, he supposed, a quaint novelty to it, though he wouldn't openly admit to being out of his depth.
It took him a moment to realise that Jun had asked him a question, snapping out of his bourgeois ruminations with a muffled "oh". He tugged the facemask down to his chin, before propping the point of his chin up on his palm, head cocked to look at Jun from where he sat beside him.
"Oh, you know, the typical business student things -- " supplementary lessons, photoshoots, homework " -- wild parties, wine-tasting. Homework. How about you? I'm going to take a wild guess and say -- fashion design."

Jun had giggled about the potato sack as an article of clothing, but shook his head no. Though he would admit that Aki in just a potato sack would be...interesting.
Though it would seem that his question caught Aki a little off guard, as if pulling the guy out of memories or reminiscence. Jun stopped and stared a little bit at the other student. Some of those...weren't so typical. "Pretty sure wild parties and wine-tasting aren't typical business student things...though I would love to see these wild parties. There's no coming back after curfew, so I haven't exactly been adventurous...and I do like to party sometimes...
As far as what I do in my free time...not fashion design...though maybe I should give it a try one of these days. Homework is pretty much a constant no matter what department you're in. Otherwise I'm lazing around most of the time, and modelling new characters or something on my laptop. I mostly do fantasy or sci-fi stuff. Occasionally I do go out and train a bit, and jog. Otherwise I don't really do much...I should go out more and at least take a look at what's there to eat. Even if I do have to walk a bit more to find that good food." Between everything he was eating. A lot. He already had four empty plates beside him and half of a fifth down in front of him. Thus far, only Daiki had been able to out eat him, but part of that was also because of his quirk. Jun's quirk didn't rely on him eating a lot. He just had a fast metabolism and tended to eat a lot. "What about your quirk? I have a feeling that's what happened to the door handle..."

"Oh, I don't know if you could handle it." The pitch of Aki's voice swerved upwards, obviously and unapologetically talking out of his ass. 'Business student parties get really wild. Especially when people start breaking out the abacus and excel sheets."
As he listened to Jun talk about his hobbies, Aki picked at the sashimi in his own plate, dipping it delicately into the soy sauce. It was second plate. His work as a model had him monitoring his own physique and diet. While he'd never been a big eater, his unfortunate tendency to indulge in his sweet tooth meant that he had to be watchful about his caloric intake otherwise. He snuck a glance at the growing stack of plates by Jun with amusement -- Aki's bank account would be fine, but Jun certainly hadn't been lying when he said he could eat. For someone who confessed to lazing around often and training and jogging only occasionally, his physique was... admirable. Aki was almost envious.
And as the conversation turned, without warning, to quirks -- to his quirk -- the sashimi stuttered, for the slightest fraction of a second, hovering in the air between the dish and his mouth. A bead of soy sauce threatened to drip off onto the table. It didn't. Aki recovered, slid the sashimi into his mouth, and took his time to chew, as if nothing was wrong. Because nothing was wrong. He swallowed. His left hand tugged, once, at the hem of the glove over his right.
"I," he said, and his voice held steady, with all the shit-eating, vaguely-amused placidity that he'd kept up throughout the conversation, "have conditional super-strength. It only affects an arbitrary set of objects. Very inconvenient, as you can imagine."
