Jun wore a skin tight, yet well ventilated, blue short sleeved shirt, akin to a wet suit, black shorts, and sandals. Rather unusual garb for him. He was at an area designed for ranged quirk users to improve their accuracy, the "firing range" filled with cheap, sturdy, and easily produced and mass produced targets. Behind him were four cases of bottled water, twenty-four water bottles per case, all stacked into one stack, and three five gallon water jugs sitting on stools, filled with nothing but ice. Hopefully enough to re-hydrate and cool him down when he gets close to his limit.
The blond was planning to train today. Normally, the objective was to hit the targets, and improve your accuracy. Jun was going to use the place to try to manipulate his flames better. As it was, he had more power than control...quite the opposite of his twin brother, who had more control (by spades) than power. And he would be lying to himself if he said he wasn't jealous of his twin. But alas, he was here to improve himself, not worry about his comatose bro...he did that enough as it was. The targets were near his fire ball's maximum range, but still just inside it by a good three feet. Starting with something simple, he was going to try to manipulate his fire ball to curve into the target. So he was going to fire beside it, try to gain control of his fire ball, and curve it into it. It all sounded very simple, but nothing ever is as simple as that.
Reaching out both hands, Jun was going to fire from his left arm, and try to manipulate with his right. The first didn't do anything...just went straight until it reached its range limit and petered out. Same with the second one, and the one after that, and so on. Every so often, he stopped to grab a water bottle and drink it. Usually about half of it, then dumped the other half on himself. As he continued, he eventually made a tiny bit of progress...the fireball slowed down a lot, then almost turned into a flaming tumble weed underneath the target and into the ground, which was all dirt, so nothing was there to catch on fire. He had gone through about a case and a half of water. And it was approaching lunch time...he had gotten up early that morning and skipped his jog to prepare this. "Well...at least a little bit of progress is being made..."

Isamu sniffed idly at the air as he strolled through the area, being followed by a hovering platform with a couple of cases resting on top. He had been expecting to find the area empty, but now it seemed… yes, that was Tomoshibi. Hmm. Well, it’s not like it wasn’t an open area or anything, but considering the nature of his powers… it was best to check in on what he was doing before some stray fireball or lightning bolt interfered with what he was doing… or specifically with any of his equipment. And so he put his nose to the ground to follow the scent trail, eventually arriving at the training station.
He observed silently for a few moments, watching Jun make several attempts at exceeding his limits—and more importantly, waiting until he had stopped to turn for some more water—before suddenly speaking up, strolling up to the stack of water bottles and hopping up on top of it with barely a wobble. “How goes the training?” He was dressed in his usual non-school wear, namely a dark blue t-shirt and black shorts, his backpack upon his back. The platform followed along, but came to a halt as Isamu jumped out of its range. He squinted a little as he looked at where Jun had been flinging fireballs, and where the targets were. “Is that your maximum range?”
Well, at least there weren’t likely to be any stay fireballs that he’d need to worry about… in fact… “Hmm… Do you mind if I test out some equipment while you’re working on that?” And in case you were wondering what that equipment might be he jumped down to the ground and opened up one of the metal cases on the floating platform, lifting out… some kind of white plastic sphere with a single, black lens embedded in it. Next he pulled out his laptop, typing some commands into it, after which that device lifted up, rising steadily into the air.
First it spun in several different directions and orientations before seeming to right itself, then it turned its lens downwards at Isamu. A very faint whirring of motors could be heard as it seemed to focus the lens and study Isamu for several moments while Isamu checked a readout on the screen. Isamu looked up to the device. “Identify me…” The device let out a soft beep and something read out on the laptop, to which the cat nodded. “Okay.” Next he gestureed to the other student. “That is Tomoshibi Jun.” The device followed Isamu’s gesture, floating over to Juna and giving him the same sort of scrutiny, followed by another beep. That done it returned to Isamu’s side, seeming to wait.

When Jun turned around, he saw Isamu watching him. It kind of startled him a little bit. "Slowly." It was blunt, and to the point. Isamu seemed to have brought some things with him. New support equipment? Then the black cat asked if that was his maximum range. "Nope. It's a few feet short. I'm trying to get some better control over my fire half to reduce the possibility of collateral damage. Basically I'm trying to control my fire ball and turn it to hit the target as a start." And if he could get better control over his fire half, then he can focus on better control over his lightning half. Then combine the two for some interesting techniques. He shook his head at Isamu's question. "Go ahead." He took a water bottle, drank half of it, and dumped the other half on him. The coolness wasn't as good as before, but it still cooled him off. He took a couple of ice cubes from the larger coolers and put them on the back of his neck.
And watched. A sphere lifted up and identified Isamu, then him, then went back to Isamu. It was...odd. "What in the world is that? It almost looks like something that Dai-chan would make...oh, Daichi Arashi. Blue hair, very girly and androgynous appearance, three metal arms coming from his lower back...he's in 1-H. Not sure if you've seen him in there or not..." The student had made his grappling hooks and he guessed several other students' support gear. Jun didn't know the full details though. Nonetheless, if Isamu built this, he wondered if the support class was a second option if the hero class didn't work out. It was always good to have a back-up plan, and the cat was smart, so it wouldn't surprise him at all.

Isamu had a bad habit of being really silent and making his presence known suddenly and without warning. He mostly couldn’t help it. It wasn’t like he wore shoes or anything, and cat paws were designed for being quiet. (And the first person to suggest putting a bell on him, well…) On the other paw, he rarely felt the need to try and be more conspicuous anyway, even when he could.
Isamu looked downrange as Jun explained what his training exercise was, and nodded a little. “I see.” There probably wasn’t much he could specifically contribute in that regard, but he could still collect some useful data. “I’m not sure what I’m testing will help you at all, but… well, it could still be interesting.”
“This is an assistant I’ve been working on. Right now it just has a basic microphone and camera, but I’m hoping eventually to put other useful gear in it, like infrared cameras, sensors, or some small tools. It’s designed to collect and analyze information for me, in a variety of different scenarios. I brought it out here hoping to do some light field testing. Potential applications include search and rescue, disaster response, infiltration and surveillance.”
He shook his head at the mention of the support student. “I usually avoid the workshop when there’s other students there. Far less noisy that way. I think I know the person you’re talking about though. But no, he didn’t make this, I did. Having access to U.A.’s tech is… incredibly helpful.” He typed some commands into the laptop, then turned it so Jun could see the display. It showed a video feed of the area, with markers overlaid on the feed and readouts attached to those markers. At first it just showed one for Jun, but the cat tapped at the screen and suddenly a host of markers appeared over the targets. “Go ahead and toss a few fireballs.”

"Or even some traps for it to set up. There's a lot you can do with that." And made a lot of sense with Isamu. The type of quirk the guy had wasn't necessarily the best for an upfront fight. But something like this? "Yeah, I can see that...you have enhanced hearing due to being...well, a cat. So...yeah...sorry, I'm rambling about stuff you already know..." Jun rubbed the back of his head. It was more just talking to himself...of course Isamu would know this. Too many people making noise working on their projects probably wouldn't do well for the guy's ears. And with UA's resources, he was sure Isamu was having quite the time making new gadgets for himself.
"Sure thing..." Stepping back to the line, he aimed a wet hand at the target that the fire-ball had went underneath. And fired two of them in quick succession. One hit the red ring closest to the center, on the right and up. The second one hit just to the right of it. He fired a third, but specifically aimed at the left edge. And attempted to change its direction to the right. Which made it curve to hit the bottom left edge of the target instead of further in. He was sort feeling it? It was an odd phenomena...but...well, he just had to keep trying to get used to it, and maybe do better. He still had a bit of work to do.
He aimed another fire ball at the top edge. This time, it slammed a good eight feet in front of the target. Blinking, he took aim again...

Isamu nodded in response, “Certainly I could add traps or other capturing implements as well…” He pulled out his phone and jotted down a note, then went back to preparing the device. He shrugged at the mention of his hearing. “It’s not just the noise, really. A lot of what I do in the lab is fine electronics work. I just like having less distractions around when I’m soldering something.”
With a few taps, he directed the device to watch Jun, the fireballs, and the target, watching the live camera feed on his laptop. New markers appeared as the fireballs did, tracking its progress and distance, as well as the final impact on the targets. After getting footage of 10 fireballs, he called out, “Hold up a moment.” He turned the laptop so that Jun could see the screen and played back the footage, then played it back a second time after typing at the keyboard some more. The second time around there was more detailed information on the flight of each fireball, including projected trajectories throughout all of Jun’s steering efforts and the distance to the center of the target he had been aiming for. “It seems like you’re having an effect, but you’re either steering it in the wrong direction or applying too much force… Is this helpful at all?”
He let Jun mull over the video footage for a moment if he wanted, pulling out his phone again to jot down a few things he had noticed while watching he initial footage in action.

Right, that made sense too.
Jun was told to stop, and he did. Then watched what the computer was detecting. It pretty much just confirmed what he was seeing. An effect, but always the wrong way or too much force on that last one. "If it gave more details, it would be more helpful, but as it is, it's just showing me what I already know and is observing...but..." Relooking at the footage, and not just the fireballs, he also looked at his form. It looked...just a tad unnatural. Nodding, he dowsed himself with a full water bottle before stepping back up to the plate.
He cleared his mind and focused. He adjusted his form a little bit. And fired, willing it to change course, instead of focusing on his hand. Normally, he would have thought the other way...but sometimes instinct worked better. And it did. It over-corrected, but still managed to hit the white ring to the right of the center. The second and third shots on the other hand, hit dead on when he corrected. But it was an odd feeling, and took too much time to focus. "I would have thought slow and steady would get me further and yet...but it's still a super odd feeling, and I really have to concentrate...really clear my mind and focus hard...it's not...practical yet. That footage showed me that my form was a bit unnatural. I guess I should listen to my instincts a bit more, too...there's something else I'd like to try though."
He drank a water bottle this time. Then went back to the line. He braced his right wrist with his other arm, and focused. The fireball that started was larger this time, but blasted out in a few different sized balls of flame that went all over the place. Frowning, he looked at the cat. "Aside from just correcting course to make my ranged fire ball more accurate, and short range fire ball shotgun is another idea. I prefer using my fire half first due to the effects of overusing my electricity half. Which hinders my mobility and reaction time, even temporarily paralyzing myself if pushed. Increasing my control over my fire half dramatically either way...want me to try that a few more times?"
