The Headmaster stretched as he walked toward the training ground where he had arranged to meet Tsubame. It was a good chance to get a break from the administrative duties that occupied the majority of his time as the Headmaster of U.A. Academy. He felt that the recent teachers' meeting had gone relatively well. There was some conflict between fellow teachers over the recent infiltration of U.A., but overall the meeting had accomplished everything that Walter had wanted it to accomplish. Aside from meeting all of his fellow teachers, Walter had given them the necessary information about the security at the upcoming Sports Festival. The Headmaster stretched again in his skin-tight short-sleeved red shirt and adjusted his black shorts, readying himself for the training with Tsubame. Walter realized that this was the first time he and Tsubame had spent one-on-one time together since their dinner, sighing lightly at how that had turned out.
Walter looked up as he continued to approach Ground Beta on the U.A. campus. It was quite convenient that the campus included several training grounds so that teachers and students alike could improve themselves without leaving the grounds of U.A. The Headmaster also noted that there was no one else on Ground Beta at the moment. Walter smiled a little to himself at that, quietly relishing the opportunity to spend time with Tsubame without anyone else around. Maybe... The Headmaster cut off that train of thought before it went any further. There was no reason to make anything more of a training session than simply what it was. Walter simply hoped that he could spend time with Tsubame without an embarrassing incident like last time.
His brown eyes took in Ground Beta. Walter had reached the location where he had agreed to meet Tsubame and put down his gym bag, fully stretching out his body now. "That should be good enough," the Headmaster remarked to himself after finishing his stretches. Walter closed his eyes and waited. He wouldn't need to see to know when Tsubame arrived. The scent of his old friend was extremely familiar to him. Walter could practically pick it up in his sleep. The Headmaster kept his eyes closed and awaited the familiar scent that would accompany Tsubame's arrival...

The day was almost done and she had still lots to do when it came to her job as Vice Headmaster. Oh well, there was always late nights looking over paperwork over large bowls of ramen and some drinks. Tsubame wasn't lazy with her paperwork, she just tended to do the more physical parts of her job that included checking up on students and teachers as well as meetings with parents and school staff. When all was said and done, though, she did what she needed to do even at the cost of her sleep schedule. Today she had gotten most of her work done. The message she got from Walter about doing some training was well recieved by her as she rushed to grab her bag from the corner of her office and head on down to the changing rooms. Looking into the large mirror she pulled her long hair up into a high ponytail with two hair ties so they stayed tight without her having to adjust it. She wore a sports bra with a dark red tank top that had a French food brand on it that she got from one of her relatives on her mother's side. She wore black sweat pants that were rather worn from years of use. She tended to be a bit stingy on using her salary on new training clothes when the old ones fit just fine. What she did different than her normal regular training exercise was that she wrapped her hands and feet. This was normal when she trained with Walter since she tended to go barefoot with him instead of using light training shoes like she does with her students and other teachers. Even with her quirk protecting her bones, she still needed to be careful for the Headmaster's own quirk since he gained claws upon it's activation. One last glance in the mirror showed the jewel at her throat was glowing green. Good, let's hope it stays that way.
Once she finished getting ready she grabbed her bag and headed out to the area that Walter had told her he would be at. As she walked, she thought on the man that was one of her best friends. In school she wasn't one to make friends easily, despite her personality now. She was more serious with how badly her quirk got to her mindset. Would you be carefree and happy when you knew that your quirk had the high chance of killing you if you didn't keep vigilant? It took a few years before Tsubame was comfortable in her own body enough to let herself be how she was now. Her yellow eyes glanced up in thought as she remembered how her and Walter met. They were both quiet and tended to keep out of the light, but when she met him, it was nice to know that there was someone who understood the struggle of a dangerous quirk. Over the years Tsubame loosened up while Walter seemed to back up further into the serious demeanor he usually put on. She could get him to laugh and smile, of course, but around most everyone else she noticed he remained withdrawn and serious. There were times she could tell he was withdrawing away from her. That thought made her sad, but she figured her friend had his reasons. Regardless of how he treated her, she remained a loyal friend and kept trying to brighten what she could for him and remain close.
The training grounds came into sight as she then noticed a familiar figure waiting for her. His eyes were closed, no doubt waiting for her scent to come. A soft grin lifted her lips; he never changes. Being as quiet as she could, she knew that he would hear her but she tried anyway. Coming up behind him, she put her hands over his eyes and pulled herself close. "Guess who? You get two guesses and no, I am not an angel."

Walter sat and waited for Tsubame. With his eyes closed, the Headmaster drifted into a meditative state and simply reflected on the recent events at U.A. The teacher's meeting had gone relatively well and now all of the teachers were better prepared for the upcoming Sports Festival. Walter smiled lightly upon remembering his own time as a student participating in the Sports Festival, trying to gain the attention of pro heroes and battling with Tsubame in the final match of the one-on-one combat portion of the event. Given the fact that the Sports Festival was the largest public gathering of heroes every year, Walter expected it to draw the attention of villains. The Headmaster was kept quite busy figuring out all the security arrangements to prevent any disruption of the Sports Festival by unwelcome villains. A familiar scent brought him out of his meditation.
Her scent reached him much earlier than she did. Walter knew Tsubame's scent like the back of his scent and could clearly detect it from some distance. Even as Tsubame and her scent got closer, Walter kept his eyes closed. The Headmaster was curious about what Tsubame would do in this situation and quickly got his answer once Tsubame reached him. Walter heard her walk up behind him and felt her put her hands over his eyes, smiling lightly in his amusement over her usual playfulness. "I know it's you, Tsubame. I picked up your scent a while ago," the Headmaster replied softly, his amusement evident in his tone. Walter did give her credit for approaching him quietly and someone without the enhanced hearing of his Quirk may not have heard her.
His hands moved up to hers and gently moved them off of his eyes. "You do move very quietly. Even I have to listen pretty hard sometimes to hear you move," Walter said, complimenting her. His brown eyes regarded her softly as he stood up and stretched. Training with anyone was a welcome break from quite a bit of paperwork. Training with one of his oldest friends was even more of a treat. Once he finished his stretching, Walter asked, "Well, shall we get started, Tsubame?" eager to begin their training. Walter was especially looking forward to it since he hadn't found time to train with her recently. Although he no longer actively hunted down villains, Walter didn't want to get rusty just in case he had to defend his students from villains...

Of course he picked up her scent. The man was practically a wolf in a human suit. Or as Tsubame liked to sing to him "Werewolf in London". She was sure the song got on his nerves, but she would always get a chuckle from the look on his face. Even though they were just friends, she couldn't help but feel closer to him due to their close friendship over the years. As stated before, Walter was distant with her, but she tried to close that distance any time she could get a moment alone with him. He seemed to open up a little when it was just them. It made Tsubame happy that she could at least get some reactions out of him for a short while. Otherwise, he was the same stoic Walter he was when they were in UA together. Once he had called her name and gently removed her hands, she gave his hands a squeeze as she laughed in her good nature. "Of course you did, cher. I don't think i'd ever get past that nose of yours. I just have to roll myself in mud and perhaps a lavender field from now on to get the jump on you." Tsubame joked lightly as she pulled away to face him just a short distance away, about three feet. With both of them being close combat fighters mainly, she was not worried about being so close to him. She chuckled when he said that he had to listen hard to hear her with how silent she was able to move. "Well, you know my family's practice. If I didn't move as silently as I do, then I would be a failure as a Takada. I have to uphold the family tradition of being as light as a cat."
Tsubame grinned at him with her amusement, then her grin lessened as he seemed to get down to business. Never one to keep up the playful banter was he. It was so like him that she simply just shrugged her shoulders and stepped back ever so slightly to make sure her wrap over her hands were set in place. She listened to him as he asked her if she would like to get going with the training. Oh mon cher, how you always seem to impatient.... Tsubame thought with a fond small smile. "As you wish, cher." A grin spread across the Vice Headmaster's face as her mischievous side started to show. Quick as a whip, Tsubame lashed out with a quick fist aimed for his face while she moved forward. The fist did not connect though and served only to distract him while she swirled to then drop down to make a sweep of his legs. If she was successful she would then grab at his arm, twisting it around his back and attempting to pin him down. If it was successful, she would then lean in his ear to whisper. "Do I need to go easy? Have you gotten rusty the last time we trained together?" A grin spread over her face once more as she felt the animalistic surge of joy she always felt when she trained with Walter. She couldn't explain it, but she could let loose with Walter when training without worry of hurting her partner since Walter was equal to her in fighting hand to hand.

Tsubame took the fact that Walter smelled her from a significant distance away in stride, as he had expected. She, of all people, knew how acute his sense of smell was due to his Quirk. Besides, her scent was one he...was very familiar with, since it had remained near him for many years at this point. Walter laughed lightly when Tsubame suggested rolling in mud or a lavender field to mask her scent from him. Those were certainly two extremes if she was serious, but Walter knew she was simply making a joke. "It'd be a shame to cover up your scent, though," the Headmaster responded carelessly, his mind drifting to his earlier thought about Tsubame's scent. His face turned a bright red before he quickly added, "I mean, I like lavender. Never mind." Walter closed his eyes and praised his fortune that no one was around to witness his embarrassment. Due to his Quirk, his opinions about someone's scent echoed a deeper sentiment of how he felt about them. Walter was mercifully saved from further rumination by Tsubame responded to his other comment about her quiet movement. "Ever the ninja," Walter commented softly, preparing to get to the business of training with his old friend.
The Headmaster bowed to Tsubame as was the tradition in Japan. Tsubame immediately sprang into action, throwing a punch at his face. However, Tsubame's fist stopped short of his fist as Walter realized it was a feint designed to distract from a leg sweep that she attempted moments later. Walter moved his head slightly to the side then jumped back in an attempt to avoid the leg sweep. A shiver of excitement ran down his spine as Tsubame's attacks reinforced the fact that there was no point in holding back against her. In fact, Walter did not dare hold back against Tsubame or he would risk getting embarrassed by her rather considerable combat skills. The blond-haired man activated Pure Instinct, feeling his senses heighten and claws grow out of the fingernails on both hands. "It's been too long..." Walter said, his pseudo-fangs visible now. Walter moved forward, slashing at her with his right hand, then his left. Walter quickly fell back after these quick strikes. He knew only too well that hit-and-run tactics designed to drain her stamina were his best chance and certainly did not need another painful reminder of Tsubame's full power.

Of course. Walter would know her fighting style by now. How long have they known each other? Since their days in UA they were close. Both were withheld at first and then both became close and opened up. However, as time went on, Tsubame opened up more while Walter began to close himself off to her once more. She saw the passionate and kind man he could be, but that was subdued since he started to keep his distance emotionally. No matter how much Tsubame pushed him, he would continue to be out of her reach. It saddened her at first; the thought of her best friend and crush keeping away. However much she wished she could destroy those barriers he put up, she thought it would be best to leave them be and just be glad that she had him in her life as it was. Being friends was better than not having him in her life, right? Tsubame thought so. So the years went by and she stayed just where he placed her, but kept close. Then it was the day of the accident where Walter lost control of his quirk. It was a day she remembers was full of blood and pain, both in her heart and body. She held him, even as her body started to give out from blood loss. She didn't remember when she had finally passed out, but she woke up in the hospital hooked up to all sorts of machines with her father and mother standing beside her with worried expressions. She learned later she had been in a coma for a week. Since she had used her quirk to the fullest that day and didn't eat anything after doing so, her body was fighting both Tsubame and the doctors.
Tsubame snapped herself out of her thoughts long enough to see Walter activate his quirk. She couldn't help but grin when she felt the rush of adrenaline that came with seeing Walter like that. It was sort of an animal-like rush that pushed her to activate her own quirk. Not only that, but she had to be careful about his claws. Tsubame felt the pressure and fire in her body as her bones hardened and the adrenaline flowed faster, helping her body spring easier and give her enhanced athletics. She dodged his claws easily as he then stepped back and kept his distance. Oh no, I won't let you go, Tsubame thought with a playful snarl, kicking off the ground hard, launching herself at Walter, getting herself nice and close to his face as her hands clenched into fists. For a split second it almost looked like she was going to kiss him, but she just got in close to grin at him. She was playing with him since he decided to try and play those oh so dastardly tactics to drain her of her stamina. If Walter was going to step back, she was going to step up. Once she was nice and close, she stomped hard on the ground with her left leg to give her a nice sturdy platform to give her upper body the power it needed to shoot her right fist forward fast. She was still playing with him, letting him do as he pleased so that she could conserve her power. When she had stomped hard on the ground, she felt her leg tense up as the fire still coursed through her veins. Not actual fire, just the burn from the adrenaline. Absently, in the back of her mind, she felt her hunger start to grow. Like usual when she trained with either Hideki or Walter, she pushed it away to not worry about it and let herself have fun. Because let's face it, with Walter she didn't have to hold herself back as much as she had to with her students.
"Are you really trying to drain me, Walter? I thought you were a gentleman. How could you treat a lady like this?" Tsubame laughed with her sudden rush of endorphins over training with Walter once more.

Walter noted that Tsubame activated her Quirk all too late, as he was focused on evading her attack while also launching his own. The Headmaster was extremely familiar with Tsubame's Quirk but launched his attack nonetheless, since it was part of his overall strategy. Tsubame, unsurprisingly, easily avoided his attack. Walter was surprised when she closed the distance between them only to grin at him. The Headmaster jerked his head quickly to evade a powerful right straight from Tsubame, once again barely managing to avoid her blow. It seemed that Tsubame was playing him and that she had decided to pursue him, not allowing him to drain her stamina so easily. However, Walter also knew that he would win a battle of attrition and that every missed blow from Tsubame was precious energy that he had caused her to expend without results. "Oh, I am a gentleman, Tsubame." Walter responded, grinning slightly as he began to enjoy their training.
The Headmaster waited a few moments, simply standing and considering his current options. Tsubame had decided to chase him so he couldn't simply repeat his earlier pattern of attacking once and retreating. No. If she was going to chase him, then he would give her the chase of her life. Walter slashed at her with his claws again, mixing in a straight right at her head and attempted to sweep the left leg that Tsubame had just used to anchor her attack. Immediately after his attacks, Walter retreated yet again. "Despite the fact that I am a gentleman, I also like to win. You know that better than anyone else, Tsubame," Walter added to his previous response, the same slight grin still on his face. He moved in close again, throwing a right hook at her head before aiming at her solar plexus with a left straight and finishing off the combination with an upward slash of his claws. Walter jumped backward, feeling his legs absorb the weight of his moving body as he continued to attempt to maintain a respectful distance between himself and Tsubame's devastating power blows. The familiar adrenaline surged through his veins and Walter remembered why he loved training with Tsubame, drinking in the feeling of fighting without limitations.

Tsubame felt her worries fall off as she moved with Walter. Her body seemed to feel lighter as she moved and that wasn't mostly caused by her quirk. Training with Walter brought her back to their days at UA when her and Walter were close and best friends in the truest sense. While Tsubame did consider themselves to still be best friends even now, she couldn't feel it was quite right ever since she got out of the hospital after she almost died from her sudden encounter with Walter's wilder side. She did not fault him for that, nor did she hate him or become afraid of him. It instead made her want to become closer with him. The feeling was strong within her she almost wanted to burst. Yet he pulled away from her, leaving her feeling empty and feeling wrong. She wanted to help him and sooth the beast within him, yet he walked away from her the moment he left the hospital from visiting her. Her brothers were on edge whenever Walter would come around after that, but otherwise they treated him the same as usual. Her father, however, had a long talk with Tsubame. He could tell what his daughter was feeling since she could not hide her emotions as easily as she wished she could. Despite the distance that came between them after the incident, Tsubame remained close to be his anchor, to keep him tied to society and have someone around him to help him if he needed it. She resigned herself to being simply his best friend despite her growing love for him. She did not love the beast within him, but the man that she grew to love during their time together. Even now they trained like a reflection of themselves. Tsubame kept coming close and Walter kept stepping back. The empty feeling grew more over the years. Perhaps that was why she resigned and let herself fall for someone else. It was a night that Tsubame had taken to drink with an old friend from UA. Like usual when Tsubame had a bit too much, she became horribly bluntly honest and emotional. She told Hideki everything that happened between her and Walter, how she felt and how she felt so alone and wanted to just stay close with Walter. He listened to her and comforted her. However, one thing led to another and she woke up next to Hideki in her house. After that, Hideki came around more often and now she could not keep away from him. Her feelings of being empty subsided when she was with Hideki. He made her laugh, comforted her, and he stayed beside her even when she did not feel like having anybody around. With each stretch of distance that Walter put between Tsubame and himself, Tsubame walked closer and closer with Hideki until they became lovers in secret. She did not like to keep secrets. This one, however, would be one she would keep in order to keep things peaceful. It was almost like deep down she didn't want Walter to know she had tried to move on because she did not want to hurt him more than she had so far with their friendship. Her thoughts made her slower for a moment. Once she regained her focus, she felt the familiar burn and heaviness of her body once more. What also felt familar was the growing hunger that radiated out from her stomach. The more she used her quirk this harshly, this more her body burned and felt like it was on fire. Reckless as always, she did not stop. She could almost hear Hideki in the back of her head tell her to stop at once and rest before her body gave out. The little Hideki in the back of her mind was pushed away as she pursued the training further with Walter. The more she moved, the more she felt free in her body. The empty feeling that she normally felt around Walter started to change and warp into something she wasn't sure of at the moment. Training brought back memories of a time she ached for. Time could not bring back feelings once had and now lost, however. Tsubame laughed with her mischievous nature; the cat wanted to play with the wolf and see how far she could push before she had to stop. Before she responded to Walter she quickly dodged the reach of his hands, stepping back and pushing herself into a back flip twice to get some distance between them. Her movements were quick and smooth like cat's reflexes. She had just barely felt his claws move past her before she had moved into her back flips. Quickly she looked down and noticed that her tank top had a slice in the almost same spot as the old claw mark scars were. Walter did not frighten her. If anything his quirk only strengthened Tsubame's resolve to keep Walter within the light and not to distance himself from everyone even if she could not be beside him truly. She knew his smile, his laugh. Other people tended to think the was much too serious and straight-laced, but Tsubame knew Walter deep down to see the loving and loyal man he was. She felt her adrenaline burst again when she had noticed the small slice. She hadn't had a fight like this in ages it felt like. She couldn't go against her students all out like this. Without her noticing the green light in the clear jewel on the collar support gear around her neck flickered and started to glow a bright yellow. Her sharp yellow eyes seemed to spark with the big grin on her face as she pushed her quirk further to withstand more of an impact. Should Walter try to make physical blows on her body, she would be able with withstand them and hopefully get the upper-hand on him. "Oh you'll have to take that win from my hands, Walter. I don't like to lose either, so give me everything you got." One last grin at Walter made Tsubame push off hard from the ground to turn into a front flip. Her body pounded hard against the floor, giving her a good platform to keep herself moving swiftly and effectively. At the last moment whens he crouched from having landed from her second front flip, she used the momentum and power she built up with her movement to spring herself high with a jump. Tsubame looked as fierce and as playful as she did in her pro-hero days as a full-time hero. She felt the familiar fire and air that seemed to swirl within her body, giving rise to the woman that could withstand even the most hardened of opponents. When her jump had reached it's peak, she hadn't jumped that high, and raised her fist to strike down at Walter with all the power she could muster. Silently the collar around her neck started to heat up with the warning mechanisms still in place by Haru. The jewel next to the semi flat disk stayed yellow, but for how long was not certain. ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` i.imgur.com/HyDOcQi.png it looks like this, but it's black and has a clear jewel instead of a bell and the tag says "If lost, please return to UA." Haru has a weird sense of humor.

Training with Tsubame brought to mind memories both pleasant and unpleasant, as Walter recalled how close he and Tsubame were during their time together as students at UA. Then, he had lost control when confronting a villain who had murdered several civilians and ended up injuring the villain rather severely. Unfortunately, he had also hurt Tsubame and put her in the hospital, asleep for a week after the damage he had unknowingly inflicted on her and the side effects of her Quirk. In the aftermath of that incident, Walter knew that Tsubame only wanted to get closer to him, but he withdrew from her, fearing losing control of his emotions and harming her once again. Even now, the Headmaster hated the distance between them, although he had believed it necessary to protect Tsubame.
However, training with Tsubame had slowly eroded the emotional barriers between the two of them and when Walter sliced into her tank top with one of his attacks, he decided to let go completely. Walter heard Tsubame respond to his taunt defiantly and smiled warmly, fully enjoying himself now. "Oh, I will, Tsu," he said, using his nickname for her back from their days as students without even realizing it. Walter noticed Tsubame jumping into the air just as he landed from his own jump and immediately prepared himself for her next attack. The Headmaster saw Tsubame strike down at him with a punch during her descent after her own jump, but she had timed her attack well. Walter snapped his head back to avoid the punch, yet the blow still grazed his head prior to him stepping back and out of the way completely.
The power of her punch immediately opened up a cut on his head and while it wasn't deep, it was bleeding a fair amount. Walter cursed and wished he had his bandages with him, but they were in his bag some distance away and Walter didn't wish to give Tsubame another opening to attack. Instead, Walter ripped off one of his sleeves and tied it tightly around the cut, wiping away some blood that had gotten into his eyes. "You know, Tsu, I could have done without that reminder of your strength. I still remember when you beat me at the UA Sports Festival." The Headmaster laughed lightly and advanced, slicing at her with his claws and continuing to dance around the training ground, still determined to win despite her drawing first blood. Walter stopped just outside of her range, almost daring Tsubame to attack him once again. For the first time in years, he felt free to be himself around Tsubame and simply enjoy an experience without worrying about the incident that had divided them all those years ago.
