After arriving at UA she expected… maybe something more theatrical? With the initial departures at the gates concluded, mostly due to the fact that she herself ushered herself through the gates with a quickness that even Hermes himself would admire. In the flurry of incoming students - some newcomers gawking with their mouths nearly reaching the floor and some screeching with delight as they reunite with classmates after the term break. Through it all she slipped through the crowd with less than a passing brush, maybe even a flash of her bright blue hair, before the sight of her was gone - shaken off as just an odd ray of light playing tricks with the eye. At some point in her tunnel vision pursuit through the crowd she found herself one of the first at the new arrivals booth - it had everything you could expect - information packs and brochures spilling off the table, a myriad of cheerful and welcoming older students and organized personnel waiting to hand out first day enrollment information.
This was all familiar territory for Himari and as she approached the table it was like she melted into being - leaning over the table with her hands clasped behind her back and a curious open expression on her face she eyed the material in front of her - waiting until spoken to. The boy sat directly in front of her blinked a moment before stumbling into a greeting, “Oh, Welcome! You must be a new transfer student, come to get your dorm registration and class schedule?” Where his tone should have inflected questioning it wavered with nerves. Letting out a breathy laugh her eyes would glance down quickly to the side before fixing themselves firmly on his. “It’s that obvious isn’t it? I’ll have to work on that hah.” As she finished her sentence she would purse her lips and press up on her tiptoes, awaiting the obvious next step of asking her name to give her the aforementioned documents. Oddly enough the boy looked a little lost for a few moments too long before clearing his throat and giving a small shake of his head as he settled back into his role as guide. With her name given and documents exchanged she gave an appreciative wave and walked away with a feigned lost expression in search of her new accommodations.
Once out of their view her shoulders relaxed back into their confident position, her fingers deftly folding the map into neat pleats before tucking it into the pocket of her jacket. She knew exactly where to go the moment she was told which dorm she had been assigned to - the one designated for class 1A students. It took no time to get there and seeing as she was one of the few students not out socializing she made it to her room with no interference. Closing the door behind her she dropped her brown leather bag on the floor and stared at the bleak room in front of her - blank off white walls, slat wood flooring, standard teal bedding with matching drapes drawn around a decent sized window, pale wood desk and chair to boot. Leaning back against the door her eyes would close, the bite of pain as she bit the inside of her cheek was the only thing that kept her from crying at that moment.
Letting out a deep sigh she pushed off the wall and began the short task of unpacking - all in all it took maybe 45 minutes and the room still felt like a drab prison - the only source of color coming from her vibrant hair. “I can’t live like this, who can live like this? All of this… this NOTHING!” Had she not been so absorbed in her own mind she might have noticed the increase in activity in the hallways that could have tipped her off that she wasn’t as alone as before. “Nope this just will not do!” her hands were gripped firmly on the hideous drapes and with a swift tug she ripped them from the rod - flooding her bare room with even more hideously revealing light. “UGH would it kill them to even ATTEMPT decent décor?!” With a loud thud she slammed her door open, drapes still in hand, and a determined - almost mad hatter expression on her face. “Who in their right mind would even call this fabric? What an insult to the poor plant that was raised to create this disgrace.” There was little more that could get Himari riled up like a waste of thread in any manner and this, to her, was blasphemy. “All this money and not a single cent went into aesthetics.” The disgust in her voice was palpable at this point - throwing the drapes against the wall next to her door she furiously pulled out her phone and began looking up the nearest place of sanctuary; any craft or fabric store at this point would do. As she continued to search she would continue to mumble, now more subdued than before, “Unless their goal was to encompass the ‘modern minimalist prisoner’, that they nailed on the head.”
Was it overdramatic? Oh of course - but after the last few weeks she had had, this was the wrong button to push.

Aidyn walked through the flurry of students slowly, taking one step every other minute or so it seemed. He kept his hair in-front of his face and let his Emo-gothic-rocker clothing do all of his talking for him. With every step it seemed to be timed to coincide with someone setting down something heavy, it was quite awhile until Aidyn was free of the large crowd at which point he visibly relaxed and began to walk more confidently towards the Dorms. The Two bags he carried in his arms were heavily loaded down with stuff and his Bass guitar case was strapped on his back like a backpack. He had already made his way through the booth with a mixture of head gestures, grunts and paperwork signing that made sure he was already labeled as a bit weird.
He had declined a map, indicating that he could find his own way to the dorms and when he walked away he had almost forgotten his bags, when the assistant tried to lift one he could barely budge it but Aidyn lifted it like it was something he was used to. A couple of times Aidyn tried to move out of the way of someone dodging and weaving through the crowd but he was far too slow and they ended up colliding with his solid body, while he looked quite thin and lanky he was filled with metal and dense muscles, He offered them a hand up and just about threw them up into the air a few inches as he hoisted them up. He gave them a very awkward mouth motion that was a very awful attempt at a smile before moving along, just wanting to get to his room.
He was lucky that he could either follow students he heard talking about the 1-A dorms or the electrical wires in the halls that went the general directions he heard the other new students describing otherwise he was going to have to ask for help, and that meant someone who was going to feel sorry for him.. He Sighed and just kept moving until he eventually found his way up to the floor where the Dorms were situated and sadly.. he was not on the ground floor. When he Ascended the stairs he moved at a snails pace, doing his level best to set his feet down softly.. Moving to the side for people that were moving up or down the stairs faster than he was. When he got to the top of the stairs he was happy to note that his room Door had special metal numbers put on it instead of them just being painted on.
This small respite from his myriad worries had him forget to keep his movements slower and more controlled and his foot steps, as few as their were were not normal nor soft, they were LOUD Thumping stomps like a mecha walking outside of the building only following his every foot fall as he went to the door he dropped one of his bags which made a similar loud thump as it hit the floor and he plodded into his room, carrying his bags behind himself. When he had put his bags down inside his room there were a hurried set of thumps and his door flung itself open hard and fast like a small burst had caught it, luckily there was a shock absorbing door stop to catch it as Aidyn called out for everyone in the area.
"V.. Very Sorry for the loud stomping.. I.. I can't really help it unless I am really careful. My quirk makes my Body stupidly heavy.. So I promise not to move around too much and bother you all when Class isn't going on" His voice was loud enough to carry down the hallway and even to the floor above and Below him, but even though he was projecting his voice it somehow sounded completely timid and apologetic. He blinked slowly and looked Across the hall, The voice he was hearing was out of his sensory range but whoever they were they sounded upset.
He Grabbed one of his bags and made his way slowly over, not slow enough that he wasnt stomping but slow enough that he wasnt shaking the floor. He stopped when he was around Seven or eight feet away from her and held up his bag infront of him with both hands, but it would be obvious that he couldnt quite see right as he was looking just to Himari's right.. "Uhm.. Hello? Sorry for bothering you but.. Are you ok? I.. Uh.. My Mom sent me with a lot of decorations and stuff that.. I dont really need.. But I wouldnt mind sharing them with you if it would help?"

"Alright, let's see what we've got...." Kuro mumbled as he took a step back, nearly tripping on a loose pile of clothes. The room around him was more than a bit of a mess. Various articles of clothing were strewn about the place, collected in heaps on the floor or hanging precariously from whatever piece of furniture they happened to find as they were tossed about. Normally the boy took great care in keeping his space clean, nearly spotless to the eyes of most. Sure, the orderly environment helped him feel a bit more at ease in the room, but the image that came with it was far more important. Everyone always said not to judge people by their appearances, but it's impossible to completely remove the outward presentation from your perception of others. After all, appearances tell you all sorts of things about a person, including things that they might not even know about themselves.
There are the obvious things; what clothes a person wears tells you about their tastes, or at the very least the type of image they're trying to portray. But the way the person wears the clothes tells you just as much. Their posture and how comfortable they look in an outfit can tell you about their mental state; how far outside of their normal routine they are, and what sort of world they probably live in. Indeed, a person's confidence in a given situation can usually be determined with little more than a glance if you know what to look for. The exception of course, is with the true masters of the trade. If you know what to wear, and more importantly how to wear it, then you not only change how you are perceived by others, but potentially even effect how they see themselves.
Kuro understood that. He wasn't a master himself, not yet, but he had seen one in action before and it was a memory that clung vividly to his mind. A night in a dimly lit theatre. An elderly man with a square jaw and eyes like glittering onyx. A fine black suit, trimmed in silver. He didn't it wear it, no he made it part of him, every contour, every movement; perfect. As he strolled onto the stage it simply became his. Each motion was purposeful, radiating an air of confidence that was undeniable. His overpowering presence demanded everyone's full attention, and it should have rendered all others around him inconsequential... but it didn't. As he played his part his poise, his self-assuredness, inspired the other actors to strive for more. They felt his confidence and it became their own, uplifting them all as a group.
That was what he was striving for. The same way that man had commanded the stage and imbued it with his energy, Kuro needed to replicate as a hero. To inspire confidence and control in all who saw him, no matter how he really felt on the inside. And to do that, he needed to look the part, which brought him to the current state of his room. He'd amassed as many outfits as he could and spent the morning going through them all, matching them together and discarding each in turn as he searched for the right fit. In the middle of the disarray, a single set of clothes hung neatly from the back of his closet door. A fine black suit, trimmed in silver, just like the one from that night at the theater. He'd managed to find one that matched it almost perfectly, and yet...
"Not quite..."
Something was still missing. Kuro folded his arms, putting one hand to his chin as he looked it over. The ensemble was so very near complete, but there was just one thing missing from it. Just one last element that he couldn't quite put his finger on. The boy scanned over the heaps of clothing around him one last time in search of that final spark, but it was obvious enough that he simply hadn't found it yet. "Oh well, we'll simply have to look again next time we're out.... For now..." He took a step forward and pulled on the fabric of the suit, making note of the size. "We'll have to take that in a bit." He mumbled to himself before reaching out to the side, where a large stuffed lion sat amidst one of the clothing piles on his bed. "Alaster my friend, would you be so kind as to fetch the thread?"
In response to the words, the stuffed animal gave a energetic shake, throwing away some of the fabric that covered it before climbing from the pile and hopping from the bed. Kuro paid him little mind as he continued to look over the suit. He wasn't an expert tailor by any means, but he knew enough to get the job done here; this outfit was only a template after all; something he could show to the support crew so they could make the costume proper. Technically he didn't have to touch any of these finer details, but the closer he got to the ideal, the more-
Kuro's train of thought was suddenly interrupted by the sound of a door closing. "...Alastar?" Glancing back over his shoulder, the lion was nowhere to be found. That was odd, why would he leave? All he'd asked for was his thread, which should have been right...
His eyes shifted over to where his backpack should have been, only to find that it too was missing. Actually, when was the last time he'd seen the thing? He had it when he'd gone out to the shops early and then.... He distinctly didn't remember bringing it back into the room. Had he set it down somewhere and...?
"Oh no..."
Kuro threw aside several piles of clothes in his way and scrambled for the door before bursting out into the hallway. Luckily Alastar's stubby legs meant he wasn't the fastest thing the world, and as the boy rounded the corner at the end of the hall he caught sight of the lion tottering his way down the corridor a few doors down. Before he could call out for Alastar to stop however, the door just in front of the stuffed animal suddenly burst open. A girl with bright blue hair stormed out with a bundle of fabric wadded in her hand. She was raving about something that Kuro didn't have quite enough context to make out on his own, but it was plain that she was quite upset about something as she smote whatever she was holding against the opposite wall of the hallway. A bizarre sight indeed. Kuro didn't recognize the girl, but he vaguely remembered hearing something about another batch of new students arriving that day. In any case, it was pretty hard to ignore a display like that and he couldn't simply stand there staring.
"Pardon me, but is everything quite alright?" He forced out as he approached, fighting back the inner urge to just slink away back to his room as he slipped into the mask he'd grown so accustomed to over these past months. As the words left his mouth he took note of a slow, dull thudding noise as it reverberated through the floor. A few moments later a figure appeared; a boy with long black and orange hair slowly lumbering forward with a bag in hand. Another face that Kuro didn't recognize. He mentioned something about decorations, and only then did the ashen-haired student recognize what exactly the girl had thrown. The curtains that had come standard in the dorm rooms. Dull, dreary things they were... He remembered replacing them almost immediately after he'd moved in.

The loud thumping in the background was pressing into her current predicament, causing her to furrow her brow in condensed frustration as she continued to scroll angrily - not really seeing any of the results her search engine had conjured for her. The frantic angry scrolling was just as suddenly cut off by a soft thump against her leg, looking down she saw the cutest stuffed lion doll gently bumping into leg repeatedly. As soon as she realized it was a doll her mouth fell open in shock … a doll… was bumping into her leg? “Do you see this?” She pondered aloud to no one in particular - in an instant she swept down and picked up the animate lion, it’s soft fabric body squishing gently in her grasp as the faux fur mane pressed into her chin as she gave it a hug. Feeling the tension from her outburst begin to melt from her to instead be replaced with a deep thumping that drowned out the softer voice of the boy who stood at the end of the hall asking if everything was alright.
Having not realized she closed her eyes they flew open at the sound of a timid voice that was only 8 or so feet away - crystal blue eyes peeked out from the top of a semi struggling lion's mane to see a striking figure standing with a duffle bag held out in front of him. As she took in his appearance the issue at hand melted from her mind and the hand that held her phone fell limply at her side. Pale white, dressed in more leather than she had seen on a person outside of a metal shop, lanky black hair that bled into a rust colored orange at the ends all framing blank black eyes. She stood completely frozen as two hands were brought up, holding the duffle bag out in her general direction, though he stood a fair distance away and hadn’t angled the offering accurately enough.
This was also the moment she noticed the student who was coming down the hall with a concerned enough look on his face though there was a measure to them - a half smile broached her face, timed perfectly with a breathy laugh. “I… I’m sorry I didn’t mean to cause such a scene to include anyone else. I just… these rooms feel like prison cells when you first walk in and I’m having a hard enough time adjusting that it was the last straw to an already full bale.” Hugging the lion a bit more to her chest she showed her full face, a look of shame at the scene she had caused. “I’m fine though really, thank you for the decorations, I’ll have to get your mothers address to send her my thanks. Honestly though this little guy took a lot of the stress from me-” she pulled the lion from her body to give him a closer look only to notice that some of the stitching on his arm was a little loose. Nothing to be concerned about for a while but a loose stitch did not pass her eyes without being fixed.
“OH you poor thing, here let me get that.” Setting the toy down she dove in her bag slung across her back to procure gold thread before falling to her knees in front of him to get to work. The needle was thread in an instant and she began tightening the small part of the seam that was loose. “Again I am so sorry to have caused such a scene, I feel so embarrassed right now this is really not my usual. Shit.. I haven’t even told you my name, I am Himari of Class 1-A, Himari Ohta.” With a final neat knot to seal the whole thing together she tapped the lion's nose, “There, all better, now let's take a look at these decorations you are so willing to donate before we find your owner, they must really miss you.”

Aidyn didnt seem to notice the Lion plush or the other student approaching from down the hallway, but that wasnt so strange seeing as how the strange part was that he was obviously quite blind but yet he didnt walk with a tapping cane. His head tilted when Himari started to apologize about her outburst and Aidyn smiled as warmly as he could, though he was still looking just over Himari's shoulder, which was probably more creepy than he was meaning it to be. "I can definitely understand that.. Moving away from home is rough and then having things looking like a prison..not just feeling like one can really set someone on edge.. He kneels down and when his knee hits the floor there is a loud thud and the floor shakes a small bit as all that weight comes crashing into the floor. He sets the duffle bag down and shrugs when she mentions getting his mothers address. "She'll be happy to know they are used by someone who can appreciate them better than I can. All I see are the metal thread bits, I dont know what they actually look like, so All I see are The Logo's of my favorite metal bands. But When I hold them they are much different than what I can sense.. So I just hope they help."
He looked up in her vague direction again, but this time his face followed her needle, and this was an accurate visual path direct to the needle. He didn't say anything as he watched her move the needle, he figured from the way she was talking that there was some sort of item she was sewing, but he could only watch the needle flying through the air swiftly. He kept following the needle until she stopped moving it and smiled to her once again, a bit more awkwardly this time as he ran a free hand through his hair, which made a strange clicking sound, like someone walking through a beaded curtain. "Uhm.. My name is Aidyn.. Aidyn Carroll. I am also in class 1-A." He nodded to her once she mentioned the decorations again and he opened the bag.. And where one might have expected blacks and purples and reds and Toxic greens.. The bag was absolutely FILLED with Lavenders and pinks and Pastels. Doilies and Curtains and pillow cases Even a few hand stitched wall hanging cloths that had a pretty floral design on the front and in the back the metal thread was visible in pattern of a Spiky Metal band logo, but it didnt really interfere with how it looked to those with actual sight.
Aidyn kept showing the decorations to Himari, Wondering what they actually looked like to someone who could see when his head turned, someone new had walked into his Twenty foot bubble and he wanted to get a better sense of how fast they were moving, he didnt say anything to the newcomer just yet becuase he wasn't sure if they were headed for himself and Himari or if they were just passing by. He turned his head back to Himari and looked between the logos and then tried to get a gauge on Himari's face.. Looking again just off to the side and over her shoulder, he was really bad at the direction thing when it came to people.. When the new comer spoke Aidyn kind of looked between Himari and The new person.. His mouth opened a few times and closed again just as many before he held up a Lavender lace doily with a awkwardly hopeful expression "I.. Hope so? I'm Aidyn.. I'm just trying to help with some decorations maybe.. do these look okay? I'm kind of blind and don't know what they look like for you guys."

Post by Kuro Murakami on Oct 17, 2021 6:40:30 GMT
Alastar attempted to continue his journey down the hall, but his earnest determination proved to be inconsequential against the fervor of the blue-haired girl. Bumping against her leg, he was seized in an instant and pulled into a tight hold before he could properly react. Though his mind was still firmly set on the task that had been given to him, try as he might the little lion could do little more than squirm ineffectually against the iron grip he found himself in.
A warm smile crept across Kuro's face as he watched the display, some of the inner unease fading away as the girl hugged the plush tight. Even if they were a stranger, how scary could they be if they greeted his friend with such an innocent gesture? The truth of the matter was that the lion probably could have easily freed itself; it was far stronger than it looked after all, but Alastar didn't act like most of the things the boy animated. Most objects would simply carry out their orders with all of the precision of a machine, a point that his recent time in the training gyms really helped to drive home. Alastar however, always seemed to have a certain.... gentleness to him, almost going out of his way to maintain a bit of charm to all his actions. It was both an oddity and perfectly normal at the same time... after all, he was Alastar. Of course he would act that way, that's just how he was.
"Oh, well that's perfectly understandable. It's certainly a lot to take in when you first arrive" He said, nodding as the girl explained the source of her outburst. Being in a strange new place surrounded by strangers was stressful enough by itself, and he could easily sympathize with the feeling. "And as much effort as the school puts into just about everything, their interior design is simply dreadful. I half expect they do it on purpose to encourage students to personalize their space." He added with a shrug before turning his attention back toward the other student. The other boy was about the same height as Kuro, and though his appearance was a little on the intimidating side, the soft-spoken way he approached and how he held himself suggested a shyness that Kuro was very familiar with. Something else was a bit off with him too... They way he held out the bag and didn't actually seem to look at either of them, and those strange eyes.... blind maybe?
Kuro's analysis was cut short as the girl suddenly cut off and dropped to her knees. In a flash she produced a needle and was moving toward Alastar with obvious intent. "Ah-" The ashen haired boy began to raise a hand in protest, but as the needle went in he saw what the girl was doing and knelt down closer. He couldn't even really see the thread in question, but he could recognize the motions; she was tightening the seam on his left arm. Not only that, but the way she worked the needle... this girl was far more skilled than Kuro could ever pretend to be without using his quirk. Smiling again, he relaxed as he watched her work, somehow managing to continue her task even as Alastar kept trying to reach for the needle and thread with his other arm. As amusing as the display was, he did eventually cancel the command, leaving the plush to fall inert and let the girl finish her stich.
"Rather impressive work, I must say. It's a pleasure to meet you Himari, and you as well Aidyn." The boy commented as he got back to his feet and took a step back. "Kuro Murakami, at your service. " The introduction was accompanied by a sweeping flourish of a bow, a motion that was both precise and quite obviously practiced. First impressions could only happen once, after all, so it was important to do it right. "And I believe you have already been acquainted with my friend. Please, won't you introduce yourself Alastar?" Speaking the words as he rose from his bow, a flash of red passed through Kuro's eyes and the lion plush once again shuddered to life. Craning his neck up to look at Himari and Aidyn, he tilted his head curiously for a moment before seeming to recognize what he had been told to do, sweeping into a bow of his own. The movement mimicked the one that Kuro had given almost exactly, and after completing the gesture he promptly fell inert again.
Stepping forward to collect his companion, Kuro paused as he knelt down to inspect that bag that Aidyn had proffered. Though practically everything about the boy made him assume that the contents would be straight out of a grunge catalog, the truth was far stranger than he could have imagined. Lace doilies, soft pink fabrics, crochet patterns in full pastel; it all looked like it could have come straight out of his grandmother's house. Hell, he thought he even recognized the curtains... In spite of the unexpected reveal though, Kuro kept his mask up and his face straight, tapping his chin thoughtfully as he leaned in. "It's quite charming actually. Perhaps a bit on the garish side for my tastes, but certainly an improvement over the penitentiary look they force upon us. I believe I have a few offerings I could donate as well, if you're interested of course."
