Amaru is a typical redhead with pale skin, orange curly and completely unmanageable hair and freckles. Well perhaps not entirely typical, since his eyes don't seem to have any pupils or anything - they just glow with bright yellow light. He never shows them though and is wearing a special black glasses to cover them. He is a bit short for his age and looks a year or two younger than he probably should.
PERSONALITY
LIKES Problem-solvingTalking in hyperboles Cats Chocolate | DISLIKES CriminalsFake modesty Dogs Vegetables |
RUMOR/SECRET: | His parents were criminal weapon makers that are imprisoned |
Amaru loves creative challenges. He is beyond obsessed with his work and if solving a problem he can vanish for days (if he has them). Amaru will often talk hyperboles about his work and can act very cocky about it. Even if he loves his work it hit him quite hard that he failed to join the hero department. He wanted to be a big hero to wash away the dishonor his parents brought to their family.
It is a very sensitive topic for him. He refuses collective guilt and doesn't feel like he should suffer just because his parents were weapon dealers, but he isn't really good at staying calm if someone mentions it. Hopefully one day he will prove that he belongs to the Hero department, even if his quirk is more suited to be a support.
Even if Amaru is basically a techno-nerd he can be quite social. He likes talking to others but isn't exactly in his element. He wants to belong and that can lead to being easily influenced by others. Not to the point that he would do something opposite to his beliefs, but he could at least balance on the thin line.
BACKGROUND HISTORY

Children should be the labor of love, born into a loving family. Amaru... wasn't one of these. His parents were both weapon makers, selling mostly to villains and freelancers. There is no way around it - they were criminals. Both of them had quirks that helped them create powerful equipment and weapons they were selling for a small fortune a piece. And one day a new plan spawned in their warped minds. It was simple:
Step 1 - Make a child
Step 2 - Raise the child to make even more powerful weapons
Step 3 - Profit
And they did just that and 9 months later two boys were born. Their childhood was... unusual to say the least. From a very young age, they were raised to make stuff. It wasn't exactly a happy childhood but both boys had a natural talent to craft and when their quirks manifested it was obvious that both of them really had powerful quirks to make weapons. Given enough time they would almost certainly join the family business but fate had a different opinion.
When Amaru and his brother were 7 their parents were meetings with a potential client, but it was a trap. The heroes somehow learned of the meeting and were waiting. The trap was sprung and Amaru's parents were arrested. Their weapons were responsible for a lot of destruction and death and it was highly unlikely that they would ever be set free. With a no other family to speak off both children were sent to an orphanage.
Taishiro was soon adopted and brothers were divided. Without his brother Amaru was alone. He felt angry and desperate. He was angry at his parents, at the heroes that arrested them, at his brother who seemingly abandoned him. Instead of keeping all of it inside he started venting be creating stuff. There was a workshop at the orphanage that became his escape. He was making small things to help others and he found joy in that. Thanks to that Amaru learned that bringing people happiness is something he would like to do. And to be happy people needed to feel safe! Unlike his parents, he decided to use his gifts to become a hero.
As dreams go it wasn't really that original for a kid to want to become a hero, most of them did. To succeed he needed to work hard. And if you seriously wanted to be not just a hero but THE hero there was one place you should go - the U. A high school. For an orphan, it was certainly a challenge but he never wavered.
Unfortunately, life isn't a fairy tale. All of his preparations and effort just weren't enough. While he was smart enough to do well in the written exam his quirk just wasn't ideal for the practical exam. But his skills were recognized as something desirable for the Support department. So, in the end, he did land in his desired school... just not at the department he wanted. The young hero-to-be took it as a chance, chance to show them he could be a hero! It wasn't usual for people to move into the hero department but it did happen every now and then. So the next goal in the young man's life was set!

THE ARMORY
• The hammer - It's his basic tool/weapon. It helps him to better "channel" his quirk to make better items. It's extremely durable.
• Black glasses - Helps him to keep his eyes hidden while not impairing his vision.

SUMMARY:
Amaru's body is more or less a battery housing energy that is unique to him. In essence, it runs his whole body preventing him from needing sleep, food of water. The presence of this energy is very obvious through Amaru's eyes. It can't directly discharge as beams or lighting, it can only be used to permanently imbue items, giving them increased durability and power. How exactly does it work?
There are three ways to imbue an item. First one is simple - a power source. Unfortunately, it only works on smaller machines. He could run a washing machine but not a death ray.
The second is imbuement - the item will become very durable and difficult to destroy. It might also release a small amount of energy on impact making the weapon slightly more powerful. (It can be done in a post and he can make roughly 5 before he gets too tired.)
The third one is the most useful and most difficult - attunement. This process allows Amaru to attune the item to someone's quirk. The effect will differ upon said person's power but basically, it allows his owner to channel their perk through the item. If the owner controls fire, they will be able to set the weapon on fire. Or perhaps shoot fire through it. This creation process is difficult and time-consuming. At a certain point, it requires the future owner to be present. Once it's finished only the attuned owner can effectively use the item. (It takes him an entire thread, it requires help from the one he attunes it for and he it gets him really tired)
While the power source and imbuement can be done on the spot the attunement requires a long process in a workshop. At his current level, Amaru can imbue or attune just man-sized objects at the most.
When it comes to materials he could imbue anything non-living. It's not that simple though. While he could imbue a piece of cloth, it can't hold much power so the improvement is pretty minimal. The best materials to imbue are metals, especially ones like steel, tungsten or titan so he rarely bothers imbuing anything else.
WEAKNESSES/LIMITATIONS:
The Spark has several limitations and weaknesses. The most obvious is, that it's not a combat power. It requires time, effort and also a previously crafted item. It can imbue an everyday item to be used as a weapon, but an imbued broom won't become that much more useful than a regular one. It might endure slightly longer before shattering I guess. The other one is that the more potentially powerful item, the longer it takes to imbue it. During the heat of battle he could imbue a knife within the post he would use it, but that's very much the combat limit.
The other is, that the energy is literally Amaru's energy. If he would use it too much in a short time, he would become exhausted or even fall into a coma. So yes, he could probably imbue a steel door (of reasonable size) to withstand a powerful explosion, but it would disable him for a long time (probably the entire thread). The brightness of his eyes is also an indicator of how much energy does he have left. Just another reason to wear glasses.
Affinity for Crafts
RANK/LEVEL: D
SUMMARY:
Taught from early childhood to help with family business Amaru grew to be a gifted crafter. He can work with most materials and make things from swords to radios just to further enhance them with his Quirk. He is quite impressive for his age but there is certainly a lot to learn...
