RUMOR/SECRET: | It's said that Black Rabbit is a loose cannon even among villains, known to betray those she's worked with for unknown reasons |
Evil has several motivations. For some it’s for some kind of greater good, for other’s it’s merely what they grew up knowing. For Kiyoko evil is the reward in and of itself, it just happens to also pay nice enough to be a lifestyle. While fighting is ultimately one of her favorite things, she’s not going to say no to most any kind of crime as to her it’s just plain fun. At the most basic level Kiyoko is a thrill seeker. She loves anything that gets her heart pounding.
From a young age the rules of society have never quite sat well with her. Particularly those that punished and limited those who had gained strength in one way or another. She likes to consider herself a logical person. Heroes don’t make much sense to her, as she sees them as going against the natural order of things. In her mind the most natural rule of the world is survival of the fittest.
Ultimately self preservation comes before anything else for her. If she knows she can’t win a fight she has no problems running. If someone she’s working with does something that could jeopardize her own well being she’ll turn on them in a heartbeat. Friends aren’t something she relies on or gives much credence to. To her all relationships she has are pragmatic, and she always questions why others would wish to be acquainted with her as she doesn’t like not knowing the motivations of those around her.
Romantically she had never shown much interest, as she sees most of those type of relationships as too based in emotion and frivor. While she does acknowledge that her own emotions are what drives her she makes sure not to let them control her. Always weighing the benefits and drawbacks of any major decision she makes.
As a part of this Kiyoko keeps careful note of any heroes and villains in Tokyo and the surrounding area that could be a threat to her. Obviously it’s much easier for her to research the heroes as they have more public personas though being a villain herself does allow her some better knowledge into who the heavy hitters are in her area. Those who she considers on her level or better she keeps track of by appearance and name.
Weakness is the ultimate sin. In Kiyoko’s mind this is an ultimate truth, sitting on par with survival of the fittest. She realizes her own strength and knows that there are those out there who are stronger than her and those that are weaker. However the kind of weakness that is unforgivable is the kind that makes people cower in fear when a villain attacks. The kind that makes people feel helpless and sorry for themselves.
Kiyoko also has a sadistic streak to her. While most of the time this doesn’t show up if she ends up brutally beating an opponent it tends to kick in. It is especially strong towards those she sees as weak, despite the fact that she also tends to hate those kinds of people. She enjoys inflicting pain on others and will indulge in a little gloating from time to time. This is often the only time when she is more vulnerable to her emotions and may be liable to make a decision that doesn’t quite make sense.
While not in her villainous persona Kiyoko is a rather average girl living alone in Tokyo. While she doesn’t exactly have any friends she is for the most part polite to those around her, though only on a surface level. Thanking the person who hands over her meal at a fast food place or giving a polite greeting while passing by someone. This does not extend much further than simple niceties however.
When she has free time, which tends to be more often than most, she likes to lounge around her apartment. Listening to music, or playing video games, watching TV and even just doing nothing for the sake of doing nothing. She can also be found wandering around the city itself just to see things, more often than not she goes out without a plan to go anywhere specific and simply likes to walk around. Though if she does hear about any kind of villain or hero activity nearby she will almost invariably go to check it out as she enjoys watching when she can.
Being bilingual Kiyoko will often switch to English when she is insulting someone or cursing as she finds it to be rather amusing to watch them either be entirely confused or spend their time trying to decipher what she is saying with what knowledge of the language they already have. As well she enjoys american gangster rap music and will often sing along with it whenever she is listening to it.

At first there was no sign of what Kiyoko would one day become. The name given to her by her parents using the Kanji that means Pure Child. In her younger years this was true. She was like any other child when she was first learning to walk and talk. Energetic and curious about things. Spending most days with her mother at home while her father went off to work. Even though he didn’t spend much time with them as his job was rather demanding her mother made sure to instil a sense of respect for him. Telling her that he worked hard to make sure that they could live a good life.
Interestingly despite not appearing like it Kyoko’s mother was actually an American. As such while growing up she learned both english and Japanese. Often times her mother would tell her stories of her home back in America. This sparked an interest in her in this foreign country and the oddly diverse sets of customs and cultures in a single country.
The times when Kiyoko’s father was home he often spent his time in his own private study, and as she grew old enough he allowed her to stay with him provided she was not distracting and behaved herself. The few times she broke his rules the punishments were harsh. But as she learned to respect her father’s wishes he slowly began to be less closed off to her. At first it was simple conversations, slowly evolving to full lessons of things she was not learning in school. Things her father said they would not teach her in school.
Of course at first she didn’t understand the things he said to her. Nodding and listening though never fully getting what he had to say. He seemed to know this as many of the lessons he spoke to her were repeated many times, etching the words into her mind as though planting seeds for a tree that would sprout years later.
Despite showing the proper evolutionary indicators of being able to possess a quirk Kiyoko’s had yet to sprout even as everyone else her age began to develop their own. Being the one kid in her class who didn’t have a quirk rather quickly turned her into the target for bullying. When her father found out about this his reaction was rather calm. Rather than contacting the school he signed Kiyoko up for lessons at a nearby dojo ran by a close friend.
Oddly this dojo was not one of any traditional Japanese martial art, instead Kiyoko began learning taekwondo. She took well to the practice, even at a young age she possessed natural agility and flexibility that lent itself well to the form. Of course this was no immediate solution to her problem, still most days at school she would find herself the subject of ridicule and sometimes physical bullying due to her lack of a quirk. But training provided a temporary release on her stresses and emotions.
It was soon that she began to understand many of the things that her father had taught her, readings from different philosophers whose books occupied the shelves in his study. Kiyoko learned to not show her hand, to hide the training she had been receiving so as not to warn those who would one day be her opponents. The one lesson though that remained in her head was simple. “There are those who are weak, and those who are strong. The one true rule of nature is that the strong survive and the weak subjugate themselves or die.”
This belief fueled Kiyoko. She wouldn’t be weak, she would only appear to be weak to lul her enemies into a false sense of superiority. Even as they continued to torment her it only fueled her desire to train harder, improve her skills and technique. This drive plus the natural way she took to the art of taekwondo made her climb up the skill level quickly.
It was almost a year after she began training that Kiyoko felt ready. Carefully she chose the spot and time for when she would finally play her hand. She chose the two supposedly strongest kids in her school, those who had the “best” quirks. While the groups that had been bullying her were vast she didn’t need to beat all of them, just the strongest. Writing an anonymous letter to the two students she had picked as her opponents the rumors quickly spread that a fight would be taking down. Of course everyone was curious as to who would have called something like this.
The day finally came, choosing a sunday as there was no school that day she came a few minutes later than she had originally picked for a time. Not everyone was there, but the meanest and most unrelenting of her tormentors were there. She almost expected their reactions as the entire group laughed when she approached them as the one who had sent the letter.
Perhaps if they had taken her more seriously they would have seen her first attack coming. A solid kick to one of the other kid’s head sent him crumpling to the ground, not unconscious but obviously in a lot of pain. The fight that ensued wasn’t exactly as Kiyoko had planned. Rather than simply fighting the two strongest kids the entire group jumped her. Still though she knew if she could take out the strongest ones first then the others would hopefully get scared off.
Unfortunately even with her marital training it was difficult to fend off multiple opponents who all have quirks. It seemed as though while she could fend them all off she wasn’t going to secure a victory like this. Still though she gritted her teeth and continued, she wasn’t about to be seen as weak again.
It happened with almost cinematic timing. At first no one really knew what happened. Even Kiyoko was stunned for a second until she realized what was going on. Her Quirk had decided to manifest itself. Using the surprise that had frozen her opponents she struck again. Despite not having any practice with her quirk the sudden change provided her the edge she needed to win. As she expected once four of them had been defeated the rest decided it would be better to flee than continue.
Kiyoko returned home that day covered in bruises and a wide grin across her face. While her mother didn’t seem to approve of it her father took her out for ice cream as a reward. She did keep the development of her quirk a secret though. Though her initial reason for learning to fight had been accomplished she knew she wasn’t done yet. Continuing to train and progress her skills she also began experimenting with her quirk in secret.
On the days she could Kiyoko would sneak off to a lonesome wooded area to not only learn to use her newfound quirk but also to find ways to mix it into her martial arts. It was around this time that she began to question heroes. The things she had been taught by her father were at odds with many of the things she saw heroes proclaim on TV and heard repeated by many other kids she went to school with.
It didn’t take long before she realized that it wasn’t just heroes that didn't make sense. Most of society didn’t make much sense. Penalizing the strong for their hard earned positions, even guilting them into protecting those who couldn’t protect themselves. Even her own actions had been built around this, choosing the fight that had won her the respect she deserved had happened outside of school grounds so that she wouldn’t be punished.
Still though she continued to do as she was expected to. Even going so far as to join tournaments for the dojo she trained at, taking home awards. As Quirks weren't allowed in these types of events it made things much easier on her. At school she finally found the respect she deserved from the start. Though to some it was feared. She was fine with that too.
A few of the other students who had been the targets of bullying attempted to befriend her, holding her up on some pedestal. Kiyoko wa quick to shut that down, making to pretenses of befriending anyone who was weak. She did however use her newfound social weight in order to make things easier for her. Those who had once been her bullies were now the ones who she subjugated.
As she moved into junior high Kiyoko had to assert herself once again. Being at the proverbial bottom due to the way schools were structured she had to earn the respect of those in later years. It wasn’t that hard. Unlike before she didn’t need to call anyone out as rather quickly those who saw themselves as in charge decided they “were tired of her attitude” as they told her.
Once again she found herself in an outnumbered battle, only this time she was not only better at fighting but also using her quirk. Something she had to be careful about though due to the asinine laws that restricted the usage of quirks. While this fight wasn’t as straight forward difficult as any she had before it required a bit more thinking on her part to disguise using her quirk within her normal fighting techniques.
Something new emerged in Kiyoko during this fight. Perhaps it had been there the entire time and had finally manifested itself. A sense of thrill and excitement built within her and she found herself grinning wider and wider as things went on. It wasn’t until she had knocked another student out, cracking their skull against the wall of a building, that she felt truly satisfied.
The fight was over before any teacher could intervene. By then they found Kiyoko gloating over her defeated opponents, grinding a heel into the chest of one of them. Unfortunately as she didn’t purposefully plan this fight it ended up happening on school grounds. Due to this she was given a harsh punishment by the school, expelling her as to their strange rules she had gone beyond just defending herself.
She was careful to not make the same mistake again. Even as backwards as the rules of society were she knew that she still had to live by them, or at the very least not get caught breaking them. She began getting in more fights through junior high, finding the amicable attitudes of tournaments no longer interesting. It wasn’t fun for her unless her opponent was really trying to hurt her and she was really trying to hurt them.
Still she continued to develop her quirk, keeping it secret from any and all around her. Only just barely using it in fights if she needed that little extra advantage to secure the victory. With the insane restrictions on her abilities that the government had imposed she found an unintentional advantage of keeping her quirk secret. Even though these super human abilities were common throughout society she had no official records of having any.
As she entered high school Kiyoko found herself hanging out with a small group of like minded people. Those who, for one reason or another, began to shun society. At first their crimes were small and mostly innocent. Skipping school to smoke, secretly shoplifting from a convenience store while one of them distracted the clerk. As things became higher stakes though some of the others seemed to get cold feet.
After a bit of manual persuasion Kiyoko was able to convince the other’s to join her in their first serious crime. It was supposed to be simple, knocking over a convenience store and taking their cash. Unfortunately things didn’t go as expected. Some aspiring low level hero managed to show up rather quickly. While the others dispersed Kiyoko decided to stay and fight. After all this hero was definitely no one famous or she would have recognized them from TV.
It was probably the most difficult fight she had ever participated in, which in turn made it the most exciting one as well. However she was forced to use more of her quirk than she was used to. Showing more of her powers than she had expected to. In the end she wasn’t able to defeat the hero, having to flee as more heroes and the police began to arrive. Making a quick escape she decided to not draw any unnecessary attention to herself for a few days.
A video surfaced online shortly after, security footage of her fight with the hero. Internet conversations began to surface, trying to guess her powers and if she was some new villain on the scene. Kiyoko found the attention rather amusing, but she didn’t let the chance for this opportunity to pass her up.
Before taking her next move she decided to take care those who had left her there to fight on her own. The moment they abandoned her they showed their true colors, they weren’t her friends. While she had never killed before she saw it as a pragmatic choice. If they were identified and questioned they could link her new villain persona to her real identity. It wasn’t much of a fight considering none of them had really trained with their quirks as she had, nor did they truly know how to fight. She made sure to make each death look different, even going so far as to make one simply disappear she laid low for a few months afterward so as not to draw attention to herself.
It was in her last year of high school when she embraced the idea of becoming a villain. Though she didn’t really care for the term as it lumped her in with quite a few people she’d rather not be associated with it did bring a certain level of respect and fear. Plus taking on a new persona would suit her desires nicely.
And so she took on the moniker of Black Rabbit. Being the conscious and practical kind she took note of all high profile heroes and villain’s in Kyoto, separating them into three groups. Any she didn’t know by name and appearance weren’t considered a threat, that was the first group. The second group was any hero or villain who would be an even match for her, or even slightly stronger. And the third group was those who were a serious threat to her, or as she saw it, those who she simply should avoid fighting.
At first she started with simple crime. Her primary goal was to goad out some hero to fight. Preferably somewhere where she could be recorded or witnessed to fulfill her second goal of building a reputation for herself. It didn’t take long before whispers began to circulate. Eventually she met with someone who could arrange jobs for her. Doing the kind of work that would pay on top of fulfilling her desires.
By this point it became less of a hobby for Kiyoko than it was a profession. Once she graduated she knew exactly what she was going to do for a living. There was one thing that was holding her back however, while she had a decent chunk of savings set up she couldn’t just tell her parents she had become a villain full time. Coming up with a believable but somewhat odd excuse she moved out, packing her bags and moving to a small apartment in Tokyo.
With what contacts she had built up in Kyoto and Osaka she found it easy to find new work in Tokyo. The reasoning for moving here was simple, being the largest city in Japan it was also the largest center of heroes and villains. This would be the perfect place to find good fights and to prove herself as one of the strong ones.
Unfortunately she found that the times when she did work alongside other villains they could be just as stupid as the heroes they claimed to be the opposite of. Often times their motivations and odd reasoning would lead them into making straight up dumb decisions. And Kiyoko was not afraid to leave them in the dust if they decided to do something that would mean an obvious loss in a battle or being captured.

THE ARMORY
Kiyoko carries on her a pair of black kevlar gloves with green accenting. While their primary purpose is to protect her hands from any environmental hazards and make sure she doesn't leave behind any finger prints they are also resistant to most common types of blades. She also has a pair of black boots with green laces. The boots have several plates of titanium between the inner and outer layers of the boot, protecting Kiyoko's feet from all angles. Titanium was chosen as the metal as it will not only protect her from blades and other weapons when fighting but should the need arise it can also stop most handgun caliber bullets.
QUIRK & SKILLS
Personal Gravity Manipulation
TYPE: Emitter
RANK/LEVEL: B
SUMMARY:
Kiyoko’s quirk, at the most basic level, allows her to control her own personal gravity. When first activated it dismisses all effects of gravity on her person, though does not affect her clothing or anything she is carrying. Once she is in this state of no gravity she can then choose a direction. This becomes the new direction that gravity will act upon her. As well Kiyoko can increase the intensity of the new gravity affecting her body by single G (scientific unit for earth’s gravity. Measured as 9.807 meters per second squared). She is able to do this up to five times for a total of a force of five Gs acting on her or an acceleration of 49.0333 meters per second squared. Once Kiyoko had gone to a certain level of Gs with her artificial gravity she can no longer lower the amount without stopping her quirk and thus initiating the cooldown.
When under the effects of the artificial gravity created by her own power Kiyoko becomes resistant the forces directly created by the acceleration created by her quirk. It also causes her to be resistant to the kinetic forces caused when her body impacts another object while under the influence of the gravity created by her quirk.
The time limit on Kiyoko’s quirk is dependent on the number of G’s she has used it at.
Use at 1 G has a limit of 10 consecutive posts
Use at 2 Gs as a limit of 8 consecutive posts
Use at 3 Gs has a limit of 6 connective posts
Use at 4 Gs has a limit of 4 consecutive posts
Use at 5 Gs has a limit of 2 consecutive posts.
This highest number of Gs she can go to before cooldown is dependent on the number of posts she has used her quirk without cooldown. So if she has used her quirk at a single G for more than two posts then she can only use it up to 4 Gs.
Special Move: Limited Gravity Effect.
Years of practice have lead Kiyoko to develop this technique. In certain situations it is disadvantageous to have the effects of her quirk on her entire body. As such she has learned how to focus her quirk to only take effect on a single limb of her body, one arm or leg. With this she can change the gravity of that single limb into a different direction, increasing the force of any punch or kick she uses. This move can only be used at up to three Gs on a single limb. This is a single post move and has a cooldown of a single post before it can be used again.
WEAKNESSES/LIMITATIONS:
Kiyoko’s quirk has a cooldown that kicks in the moment she stops using her quirk. The cool down time is equal to the number of posts she has used it plus the highest number of Gs it was used at, divided by two rounding down for decimal numbers. For instance, use at a single G for one post would have a single no cool down. Whereas use at a four G’s for two posts would have a cool down of three posts.
Formula: (Gs + Posts Used) / 2 = Cooldown
Due to the constant changing of gravity that Kiyoko experiences while using her quirk in combat it can cause her to become disoriented if she overuses it, not only making using her quirk nearly impossible as she can no longer choose a direction for her gravity to take but also making her nauseous. If Kiyoko uses her quirk for more than five posts or more consecutively then the disorienting and nauseating effects take hold.
When exposed to nitrous oxide (N2O) more commonly referred to as laughing gas Kiyoko’s quirk will rapidly cease to work. The concentration of the nitrous oxide must be high enough to cause the standard mind altering and anesthetic effects that the gas is used for. High concentrations will completely nullify her quirk instantaneously while lower concentrations will simply weaken it.

Taekwondo
RANK/LEVEL: C
SUMMARY: Kiyoko began training in Taekwondo at a young age. The martial art was particularly suited to her small and agile frame and remains as such to this day. She continued her training through elementary and middle school up until high school where she lost interest in the more sporting side of the fighting style. The martial art has an emphasis on agility and powerful upper body and head level kicks. Spinning kick and rapid kicks are also a large emphasis of the form. Speed is considered more important in this art than the physical size of the person performing the attacks While the techniques employed may seem flashy and almost impractical in actual combat they can be devastating when used by someone with a high enough level of skill.
A good paragraph explaining the details of this skill, remember that it will coordinate with their skill level.
