RUMOR/SECRET: | Kagami is destined to end up a villain like her father, or at least that's what people say. |
Kagami is the quiet type. This is less because she is shy and more something she has simply done her entire life. She prefers to not have any unnecessary conversations whenever she can avoid it. As a child she would often let her sister take the lead in social interactions. The unfortunate consequence of this being that she is very bad at any conversations that she is not prepared for. Simple greetings or interacting with people on a surface level, such as the person checking her out at a grocery store or a waitress serving her at a restaurant, aren’t difficult for her. Though she does often come off as straightforward and not particularly friendly.
This lack of tact and social skills combined with the natural way her face tends to rest in an intimidating or even scary fashion can lead to misinterpretations of her actions and words. When she was younger she did have a desire to make friends despite her social shortcomings and while this desire still remains it is mostly smothered by her hatred towards her father.
Kagami didn’t feel betrayed when her father was revealed to be a villain. She was surprised to be sure but that was the extent of it. Her hatred began to stem not from the apparent betrayal but from the pain it caused her mother and sister. While she had cared for and loved her father she felt the same way about her mother and to see his actions hurt her in such a way it became unforgivable.
Despite her hatred being her prime motivator for becoming a hero that emotion doesn’t often show itself directly as she directs it into more useful endeavors rather than simply lashing out without a target in mind.
Due to her single minded focus Kagami’s free time doesn’t consist of many true hobbies. Mostly practice and training. She will spend time reading, though almost never for pleasure and more often to gain knowledge on a wide variety of subject that might help her achieve her goals.
Deeper inside Kagami has urges that she suppressed heavily. With the similarities between her father and herself in personality these urges scare her. The many well known escapades of her father as a villain made it clear that he took joy when he killed and tormented civilians and heroes. Her biggest fear is to one day end up like her father. Both because of her hatred for her father and because she does not want to hurt her mother and sister the same way he did.
While Kagami’s exterior is stoic, calm and quiet she does feel the same emotions as a normal person, however to get her to show these emotions would be a difficult task as they are not only buried underneath her less than sociable exterior personality but also by the fires of hatred that serve as her prime motivator.

BACKGROUND HISTORY
PLACE OF BIRTH/HOMETOWN: | Tokyo |
PARENTS: | Father: Kichirou Ueda Mother: Ai Ueda |
SIBLINGS: | Akari Ueda |
SIGNIFICANT OTHER: | N/A |
OTHER: | N/A |
Kagami was born in Tokyo, at the same time as her twin sister Akari. Being fraternal twins they looked nothing alike. While Akari looked more like their mother Kagami shared similar features to their father. Kagami’s name, meaning mirror, was chosen as she was considered the spitting image of her father sharing his grey colored eyes and jet black hair.
Growing up Kagami and her sister had a slightly abnormal life. With their father being Kichirou Ueda, a rather famous actor, they did have things better off than most other kids. Despite their father’s fame their mother took care of them both full time. From a young age the similarities between Kagami and her father were strangely obvious. She was quiet and observant of her surroundings. Her mother often said she could count the number of times Kagami cried on a single hand.
Kagami looked up to her father, despite the fact that there were times when he wasn’t home. Sharing his same quiet and stoic nature often made what bonding they did do was very quiet and often involved him reading a book or watching a movie with her rather than physically playing.
Once Kagami and her sister were both old enough to be admitted to school life became slightly different. Her silent nature meant that she was the target of small amounts of bullying, though her sister being quite the opposite had become popular rather quickly. This ultimately ended up being a good thing as Kagami’s sister stood up for her.
This dynamic didn’t change much through the years. Kagami was more than fine letting her sister do most of the social interaction for the both of them and she herself got by with the bare minimum. While her somewhat scary looking face did cause some level of grief it ended up turning out to be more of a blessing as her resemblance to her father could often make people see her as more the cool quiet type than the scarry type.
At home Kagami was often dragged into watching the escapades of heroes and villains on TV with her sister. Akari seemed to love watching the fights that they had, more often than not roping Kagami into playing “heroes and villains.” Almost every time Kagami was the one who played the villain while Akari played as the hero. Despite not showing the same enthusiasm as her sister she did enjoy getting to just have fun together.
The first time Kagami began to feel different was when others around her began to develop their quirks. Even her own sister’s quirk manifested, and yet for Kagami her’s had yet to appear. When she decided to bring this up with her parents her father told her not to worry as if she was anything like he was then her quirk was simply a late bloomer. Deciding to believe her father she continued on, trying not to let the fact that she was the only one in her class without a quirk bother her.
Things changed just as Kagami and her sister graduated elementary and had begun middle school. Returning home from school Akari turned the TV to the news as she always did in hopes of seeing the latest on what was going on between villains and heroes. A special report came on. The villain known as Bad Blood, known for his complete disregard for casualties during his crimes, had been arrested. However this wasn’t the full extent of the story. In the course of the fight that finally lead to his arrest Bad Blood’s face had been caught on camera and it wasn’t hard for anyone to see who it was. His true identity was the famous actor Kichirou Ueda.
The next hours were spent watching the news as this was the biggest story and covered on every outlet at the time. Their mother was on the phone for hours that night. Things changed quickly. While Akari had been well liked at school before, the next day the news was everywhere and it was as if everyone had turned on them. More so Kagami than her sister.
Due to her similarity in both appearance and attitude to her father the other children began making fun of her again, and Akari’s attempts to intervene were not longer met with the same friendliness as they once were. This ridicule wasn’t just met at school however. It was obvious that their mother was now met with new levels of stress as not only did she need to provide for her two children but also now fend off constant ridicule in public and inquiries from reporters.
Months later, after the police had interviewed the family Kagami and Akari’s mother decided to move out of Tokyo. A combination of the same and public ridicule finally wearing her down. It was obvious that she had been trying to put on a strong appearance though that had finally been worn down.
Using what assets they had left they moved out to the small town of Shirakawa. Due to it’s more secluded nature it was easy to avoid the public ridicule faced in tokyo. Still though Kagami’s mother had changed, the stress and despair of the whole situation making the smiling woman who had raised her into a shell of her former self. Even Akari had a hard time dealing with this news about their father. It was clear that both of them felt betrayed.
Kagami on the other hand didn’t hate her father for being a villain. While she knew she should have cared more about it than she should, what she began to hate was how it affected her mother and sister. While it seemed Akari was slowly able to gain back her former self their mother was never the same.
There wasn’t a concrete moment when Kagami decided what she was going to do. She would become a hero, not for the greater good or to help people. No she would become a hero to reverse what had happened. If she could become a hero more popular than he was infamous then maybe she could make people see that just because they were related to him that they weren’t like him.
Despite not having a quirk, or so she thought, Kagami began to train. It began with physical exercise, she would need to be in shape if she ever wanted to be a hero. Using what resources she could she began to sneak out into the surrounding woods when she could to teach herself to fight. It wasn’t the best option but it was all she had.
It was during one of her training sessions when Kagami met the man who became her mentor. In town he was known as a quiet recluse, the kind who kept to themselves and was not to be bothered. Kagami had tripped and fell, hitting her head on a rock while running through the woods to get back home. She awoke to find herself in the man’s house, her head bandaged.
He asked her what she had been doing out in the woods alone and Kagami explained her situation. The man offered to train her, revealing himself to have been a former member of the Metropolitan Police Special Assault Team. As for why he decided to readily to help Kagami he never fully explained.
For the next years of her life Kagami trained under this man, who only ever revealed his name as Sato. Training her primarily in hand to hand combat he also gave her training with knives and firearms, which she decided better not to ask how he was procured them. It wasn’t long into her training that Kagami received her first injury and discovered her quirk.
Being hit while training hand to hand combat she felt blood in her mouth, though as she went to spit it out the substance that came out wasn’t the crimson color she had expected but a pitch black in hue. Her blood was the same as her father’s had been, she possessed the same quirk her father had used as the villain Bad Blood.
With the fire of hatred already burning inside of her this only added fuel to the flame. She was cursed to look like him and even have a similar personality to his own. Now she even possessed the same quirk. Though in a way it also was perfect, if she could become a hero using the same quirk her father had it would only serve to further her goals.
Now knowing her quirk she had to begin training hard, as she had less time than most would to get to a level where she could be accepted to a hero school. She did have the upper hand of already knowing at the basest of levels how her quirk actually works. At the same time though she did not abandon her training with Sato, as with the nature of her quirk she would need more than just that to be able to make it as a pro hero.
As she neared the end of junior high Kagami knew where she wanted to go. UA. It wasn’t a choice based on it’s standing as the best pro hero school in the country and more a decision based on its location. Being in Mustafu right next to Tokyo meant that was were the villain who was her father was most well known. And that is where she would need to make her mark as a pro hero.
Knowing of her plans Sato tested Kagami to her limits. Putting her through a gauntlet that pushed her training to its maximum. In the end she was skilled, though still she would need more practice and training before she could make it as a pro hero. The final part of the test however was perhaps the hardest. Kagami was to kill a small stray dog that Sato had been caring for the past few weeks.
The explanation was clear. Despite the rosy and silver lined view many have of heroes, and while they are not supposed to kill the villains they fight, there are times when there is no other option but to kill the bad guy. What scared Kagami wasn’t the fact that she was told to kill this animal and not even the fact that she was willing to without a second thought. No, what scared her was the enjoyment she felt when she did it.
Less than a week later Kagami went out to Mustafu to take the entrance exam. While at a disadvantage due to her lack of experience with her quirk Kagami’s other skills were enough to make up for her shortcomings. It was stressful waiting to hear if she had been accepted or not. On the chance that she wasn’t accepted she didn’t know exactly what she was going to do.
Ultimately she was accepted. She didn’t know exactly what to expect, particularly when it came to her father. While it had been years, something told her that not everyone would simply not recognize her name or the quirk she used. But that didn’t change anything, she was going to graduate and become a pro hero.

THE ARMORY
Kagami carries on her person at almost all times a small switch blade in which the blade comes out from the front of the handle. Hiding this usually under her skirt for cases where she needs to have access to her blood. The rest of her armory is only used when she knows she will be going into combat. A full sized combat knife with a serrated saw like back. She also has a ballistic vest that she wears, which protects against most projectiles as well as blades, the vest contains four pouches, each with a 500ml steel flask she keeps filled with animal blood to regenerate her own blood.
QUIRK & SKILLS
Black Blood
TYPE: Emitter
RANK/LEVEL: D-
SUMMARY:
Kagami’s quirk revolves entire around her blood, which is a dark black in color. It has two main facets to it. The first allows Kagami telekinetic control over her own blood while it is outside of her own body. She can both move it with her mind as well as cause it to clot on command creating a more solid form. When she begins to control her blood in this fashion Kagami’s eyes change from their natural bluish gray to a glowing pink in color.
The second facet of Kagami’s quirk is less active than the first, as her blood is highly corrosive while in liquid form. She herself is unaffected by the corrosive properties of her own blood. While her blood can eat through substances such as concrete and metal it is a slow process and requires large amounts of her blood to be used. It is most effective against organic materials, eating through things like wood or natural fur quicker than a living being.
It takes four posts worth of using her blood to eat through the lock on a metal door or make a small fist sized hole in a cinder block wall.
It takes two posts worth of blood to eat through a person's or animal’s skin to their muscle. And then another three posts to reach bone.
It takes one post to eat through a standard two by four of any kind of wood as long as it is no longer living.
Drinking blood that is not her own allows Kagami to regenerate her own blood at an accelerated pace. Consuming 16oz|475ml (size of a standard water bottle) of blood will increase the number of times she can draw blood for her quirk by one. Drinking Human blood causes this regeneration to take place in next post, while animal blood causes the regeneration to happen on the second post after it has been consumed. This does not work when she is at full capacity with the blood in her body.
WEAKNESSES/LIMITATIONS:
The primary disadvantage of Kagami’s black blood is the fact that it uses her own blood, making her slightly light headed with more than two posts worth of drawing her blood. Any more than four posts in a single thread of drawing her own blood for her quirk and Kagami will succumb to anemia and fall unconscious.
The corrosive effects of Kagami’s blood only work when it is in liquid form. If she chooses to clot her blood while manipulating it then it will no longer be corrosive. As well she cannot revert it back to a liquid form once it has been clotted. As well the corrosive abilities of her blood have no effect of plastics and polymers.

Hand to Hand Combat
RANK/LEVEL: C
SUMMARY:
Training under the man only calling himself Sato Kagami learned to fend for herself in a fight when needed. Using a mixture of several different martial arts the style is predominantly focused on defeated and subduing the opponent in order to use further restraints to take them out of the fight. This also included training with knives and batons as weapons for when just her bare hands wouldn’t cut it.
Firearms
RANK/LEVEL: D
SUMMARY:
Kagami didn’t ask how or why her mentor had guns, though she did accept the training he offered in how to use them. While she is no expert marksman Kagami knows enough to be able to handle most styles of firearms and shoot them with relative accuracy. While her skill is not quite to the level where she could use them with great effectiveness in combat she has the basic knowledge needed to eventually reach that point should she be given the means.
