RUMOR/SECRET: | Rumour has it that Hyousuke used to run with some other wannabe delinquents. |
Hyousuke is an immensely confident person. Faced with a problem, he'll likely charge at it head-on, grinning the whole way through. Even when he's completely outmatched, he'll smirk and taunt them. However, it might be arrogance instead - stubborn, bullheaded pride that won't let him admit that sometimes, he should just step back and let someone more qualified handle a situation. Either way, he's incredibly touchy about said pride. Insulting it yields different results, depending on the context, but they'll never be pleasant ones.
Asking Hyousuke how he's doing invariably yields a calm, confident answer. His arm could be chopped off, and he'd still make a joke about being disarmed. Some might call it a desire to emulate the heroic attitude - in other words, inspiring confidence in those on his side, while making it seem like villains can't possibly hurt him. Others might say that he's just hiding how he really feels behind a facade of confidence, and that beneath it all, he's as scared and as insecure as everyone else. Hyou remains tight-lipped on the subject, however.
Hyousuke attempts to be proactive when faced with a problem. If someone's upset, he wants to know why so he can act on it. If something's gone missing, he'll start searching. And if it looks like someone looks like they'll be trouble, he'll deal with them. Unfortunately, this sometimes makes him come across as aggressive, or even violent. He'll pick fights with people he shouldn't, and his blunt demeanour can sometimes make an emotionally-charged situation end up in an even worse state than before. While he may act first, he rarely does so with tact.

Even in a society where Quirks were restricted, being a superhero was wall that Hyousuke ever wanted to do from a young age. It was a number of things that inspired him – the presence of heroes in other countries, manga, anime, word of mouth… Hell, even when his parents talked about heroes in a negative light, he couldn’t help but admire the thought of someone that roamed around saving people with their Quirk. It was like being a cop, but way cooler, and that was a thought that his parents couldn’t persuade him to shake.
Unfortunately, even with the advent of the Freedom Quirk Act, things were… complicated. Hyousuke didn’t have a particularly impressive Quirk like the rest of his peers. Until the doctor managed to confirm that his biology was different to the baseline human, people weren’t even sure if he had a Quirk in the first place. Nevertheless, he was a stubborn child, and refused to listen to the gentle suggestions adults made when they told him that being a hero was an unrealistic dream.
As pros themselves, his mother and father – Amazon and Rolling Thunder – knew what it took to be a hero. They spoke at length with the family doctor about what how Hyousuke’s Quirk might develop, or how it could be applied, but his options were limited. Even with the ones that were available to him, it was unanimously agreed that him being a hero was unlikely at best.
Naturally, Hyousuke did everything he could to try and better himself. He trained his body, trying to be an athlete. He learnt how to fight, to do something that would compliment what his Quirk could do. And when somebody told him that he was weak? He’d make damn sure to tell them that he wasn’t. This, of course, led to him getting into more fights than he cares to remember. For the most part, he won said fights – he had more training than the rest of his peers had, and they hadn’t even started to do more with their Quirks than learn to control them.

Time went on though, and more people learnt to use their Quirks, rather than just rein them in. Hyousuke trained himself until his fists bled and his body collapsed, but the gap was forming, and no amount of training seemed to be able to close it. He’d fight with all the ferocity he could muster. He’d try and intimidate people before the fight even happened, leveraging his height and his frame to make himself seem tougher than he really was. But the perceptive could see that him being a hero was a pipe dream at best, and deep down, Hyousuke understood this as well, no matter how he tried to deny it.
It was the entrance exams that showed him exactly how far the gap had widened. For once, he was comparing himself to people his age that hadn’t just trained their bodies, but their Quirks as well. They fought with more than just skill – they fought with strength. They fought with grace that his wild, animalistic swinging failed to accomplish. They outmatched him at every turn, and it was only through some strange twist of fate that he managed to pass into the hero course.
Through a combination of grit, stubborn determination, and training, he manages to keep up with his peers - but only just.
THE ARMORY
HERO COSTUME:
The second iteration of Hyousuke’s hero costume comes with improved defensive and offensive features, at a slight cost to mobility. The belt and bandolier across his chest can have pouches strapped onto them, or holsters for whatever weapons he chooses to take out into the field.
The costume is composed primarily of Kevlar, providing a tough and bullet-resistant layer of protection that prevents small arms fire from hitting his body. The ceramic plating integrated into it also provides protection against rifle rounds, though high-powered shots or sustained fire will shatter the armour and rip through the fabric. Additionally, the ceramic plating, while lighter than steel, lacks its resistance to blunt force trauma. Something strong enough, such as a sledgehammer being swung down at him, will often severely damage or outright destroy the armour, with the Kevlar doing little to absorb the force.
The helmet is comprised of Kevlar, while the visor is made of a bullet-resistant plastic. While not as heavily-armoured as the rest of the suit, it provides ample protection against glancing blows or stray rounds. The visor itself has a glare-resistant coating, and when powered by Hyousuke's Quirk, allows him to see in night and thermal vision at will. A two-way radio is also integrated into the helmet.
Circuitry runs through the costume that allows him to transmit power to any part of and electrify the limbs - essentially turning his arms and legs into tasers when the 'energy transfer' part of his Quirk is active. However, a shock stronger than 75,000 volts will fry the suit's circuitry, rendering him incapable of using any of the costume's power-reliant features.

FIRST AID SUPPLIES: Includes bandages, plasters, disinfectant, a clean cloth, and a tourniquet.
RADIO: A handheld radio. Good for communication.
TORCH: A small but powerful torch. Water-resistant, in case he needs to use it in the rain.
Electronic Vision Enhancer (EVE): Hyousuke’s visor has been enhanced with infrared and night vision functions, allowing him to see heat sources and in low-light areas. However, in order to achieve its slim design and make it practical for everyday use, various components had to be shifted around and the power source was removed entirely. Hyousuke must instead power his visor with his Quirk, which in turn prevents him from using the stamina-restoring aspect of it.

QUIRK & SKILLS
DYNAMO
TYPE: Emitter
RANK/LEVEL: C
SUMMARY:
Dynamo allows the user to generate energy from their own heart, and channel it into either their own body or a device that runs off electricity. At his current rank, Hyousuke can generate enough energy to power a small car.
By directing the Quirk at themselves, users can restore their stamina as their heart beats, essentially giving them a limitless source of energy. Directing it outwards allows the user to power any objects they come into contact with - everything from a toaster to a car is fair game.
At his current rank, Hyousuke can generate enough energy to power a small car.
WEAKNESSES/LIMITATIONS:
Both parts of the Quirk cannot be active at the same time. While he can power an object or himself, he cannot do both at the same time. Attempting to do so has resulted in a twisting pain in his chest, as if his heart was trying to wring itself dry.

When Hyousuke's heart is beating rapidly (such as during exercise, combat, or when he's scared), switching between 'modes' becomes more difficult. Switching in such a situation will deactivate his Quirk for a post while he changes.
While his Quirk gives him stamina, it does nothing to combat muscle fatigue. Hyousuke might feel like he can keep going forever, but his muscles will naturally be unable to keep up with extended use.
Dynamo turns Hyousuke's body into what is essentially a giant circuit. Rather than help him resist electrocution, however, it actually makes it worse. If he is electrocuted while using the stamina aspect of his Quirk, it will focus the brunt of it towards his heart, potentially causing fatal damage.
Hyousuke cannot channel energy through organic matter - plants, creatures, people, so on so forth. He is only able to channel it into himself because his body has developed to accommodate his Quirk. As a result, he cannot use his Quirk to electrocute people directly - he has to use a specially-developed gadget in order to do so.
The power-channeling aspect of the Quirk would be a godsend for support course students. Such a potent power source would open up a range of possibilities for gadgets, weapons, and even armour. However, due to personal reasons, Hyousuke is reluctant to use anything more than his costume. A humiliating loss during the Sports Festival has made him more open to the idea, but it may still take some convincing.
KICKBOXING
RANK/LEVEL: C-
SUMMARY:
In order to compensate for his Quirk's lack of offensive potency (and to compliment his stamina regeneration), Hyousuke took up kickboxing from a young age. Through countless hours of training, he has managed to attain a solid grasp on the basic techniques, and poses a serious threat to untrained opponents in close quarters. Experience with tougher foes has helped him hone his skills and adapt to different opponents' fighting styles, but he has a long way to go before he can outright counter them.
