Akemi Skye Byron had a rather odd presence to her that most can't quite wrap their head around. A strange aura of geek, jock and some silver-age optimism. She has the dumbest grin that God could find and wears it proudly. That is, whenever she doesn't have her 'warface' plastered over it. Akemi stands up tall, with a straight posture, feet always firmly planted on the ground. Allied with her posture is her toned physique; certainly a product of her hobbies and her quirk. It's almost as if she is always flexing. Or she could also just be flexing all the time; that's a possibility too.
PERSONALITY
LIKES Chocolate Comic books Grit MMA | DISLIKES Breaking things Lightning Storms Mint Snakes |
RUMOR/SECRET: | After school, she can be found shocking herself to build a resistance to electricity. |
Straightforward in thinking, cheerfully optimistic in outlook, Akemi almost seems to be out of a different era. There is little she keeps hidden; life is so much simpler when you say what you mean, and do what you say. Her idealistic optimism, believing in the best in her situation and others, makes her smile is unshakable, and if often what most people notice.
Uncompromisingly steadfast in her beliefs and decisions, there is little anyone can do to change her, or her mind. Once she has made a decision or accepted something as gospel, there's no going back, nor convincing otherwise. Likewise, she's dedicated, giving her all at all times, only ever finishing with a completed job.
There is a lot that she is oblivious to. Ulterior motives go unnoticed, and witty wordplay and sarcasm take a second to process. Subtlety and the finer details fly under her radar with ease. Likewise, she is often neglectful, forgetting to do certain things that she promised to do or following through on something she has declared is finished.
Even when presented with new, potentially better options, she remains inflexible. Unwanting to deviate from what she already knows, she has to proven that, definitively, her way is completely wrong. However, that might not be enough sometimes, finding comfort more in how she does it, than the results of it. As her focus is on the here and now, she's incredibly short-sighted, unable to think into the future, or how her actions will affect the big picture.
Her worldview is very simple, and heavily influenced by ancient comic books and hero culture; heroes good, villains bad. Heroes 'KAPOW' the villains into jail, or wherever they go these days. Heroes can't do any wrong; villains only harm. That when the people who can do something, don't, bad things happen. Since Akemi was blessed with a quirk that can do something, she figured she should. This adult worldview, simplified so that a child could understand it through pictures, is one that she adopted, ignoring that it came from a very different time, or growing as she has grown up.
The majority of her free time is spent practicing martial arts, watching it on TV, or reading comic books. Studying? Nowhere her priority list, if it even exists. Consequently, it's been proven she isn't exactly the smart one of her bunch. Who knew?
Despite the impervious nature of her quirk, she has a petrifying fear of snakes, and people with snake quirks are not high on her favorites list. Likewise, she has a herculean dislike of breaking furniture, touching delicate things, including people. Ever since she was young, lightning storms have been a near fatal threat that's loomed over her head, literally. She refuses to go outside if there is even a chance of a lightning storm.
She has a deep love of chocolate, despite how its not great for her fitness. It's the easiest way to her heart. The flavor of chocolate doesn't matter, nor the form; so long as it is chocolate, she has an undeniable love for it. Same for old comic books and MMA, although the latter might end one up in a dangerous position. Her favorite kind of people are the ones with grit, with gumption. Hard to not respect the people who keep pushing on.

BACKGROUND HISTORY
PLACE OF BIRTH/HOMETOWN: | Kyoto, Japan |

The daughter of an immigrant architect and a native musician, Akemi wasn't a complete oddity to the world around her. Born as what would eventually the middle child, she wouldn't be a forgotten one. If her early life had a positive spin, it would be considered a medical marvel, but that wasn't the case. Unlike the majority of mutation quirks, Akemi's 'Titanium' quirk activated very slowly, starting at the age where emitter and transformation quirks appear.
Her parents awoke to a scream; her hand was hard, and she couldn't move it. It weighed so much that the young girl had to drag it along the ground. Initially, the doctors were confounded. Was it a quirk? Was it a disease? While it looked like a quirk, such a lack of control over it ruled out being an emitter, while the partial crossed out transformation. Combined with the late onset, mutation was a slim possibility too.
Soon after, they were able to identify her 'condition' as a quirk, one of the few 'L.O.M.Q.' (Late Onset Mutant Quirk) cases to pop up in the last century. A now rare smile was plastered all over her face as all these different people asked her to talk into sticks with black boxes on their shoulders.
By the time she six, she was completely bedridden. Trying to sit up in bed was akin to a full body workout happening in the space of 10 seconds. Her muscles and bones had entirely transformed into titanium, trapping in her own body. It was a strain even to keep her mouth closed, the weight far outweighing their strength.
The doctors were around her, now cautious, instead of intrigued. If she was lucky, she might be able to walk by she was 20. Maybe. If she made it that long. Her organs hadn't adapted along with her mutation, and with the weight of her torso, or her skull, they could potentially crush her organs.
Her mother cried; her father grew silent. Her older sister sat by, emotional, but holding steady. Her baby brother had no idea why everyone was upset, asking them to smile to make them feel better. Weakly, but with great effort, Akemi looked down at little Kaii, a weak smile on her face brought the brace that kept her jaw closed.
It wasn't long before Akemi underwent treatment wherever they could find. While she was being tutored, due to not being able to go to school, she went through experimental exercises and specialized equipment. Powerful quirks came into the picture too, and that was where the key laid.
What each of them brought was a temporary fix, but she found she could move, just a little. Each time, little by little, she could move a little more than the last, her heart and lungs getting fitter and fitter, adapting to their metal cage. By the time she was 7, she could sit up in bed, and almost feed herself again without exhausting herself. Even then, it was hard work; if she didn't have the support of her family, she wouldn't have been able to press on.
Inbetween rehabilitation, the smiling girl had to rest. She couldn't complain, nor did she have any other choice. They had to move rooms, due to a more severe need popping up. During that changing time, she had a lot of free time to do whatever in that little hospital room. There was a TV, permanently stuck on a combat sports channel. It was fascinating, but then she saw some books. Bright and flashy, they caught her eye almost immediately.
Heroes with great power, heroes from distant planets, and heroes who were just regular humans were sprawled across the inked pages she lost herself in. She was confused; they didn't look like anything she saw on TV. There was nothing wrong with modern heroes, but these old ones were so captivating, with old-fashioned principles, campy costumes, and written sound effects.
She slept at home for the first time in nearly five years on her 11th birthday, with some modifications, of course. Her therapy wasn't close to done, but it was about to step up. For the first time in forever, she'd be able to do sports.
Due to the nature of her quirk, nothing with too much running, or direct competition was allowed; something where if she needed to stop, she could. Akemi's solution? What she saw on TV.
Her father fainted on the spot. She was, however, determined; it was what she wanted to do. Well, there was a point to it; she was made of metal; most things probably wouldn't be able to hurt her, and if she just punches bags, or someone just as durable, then it should be fine.
Over the next five, life perked up. At 13, she stopped the therapy, only really lacking some control in her hands, which would be covered in quirk programs in schools. MMA was great fun, and while her discipline was lacking, her zealotry saw her craving any movement she could muster. That, and watching it on the TV with her younger brother. The comics were there too.
It wasn't long before she'd have to change schools, and unlike most, it would be her first time. Her choice was obvious, and while the written component was a valiant effort, the practical side was the built-up moment she'd been seeking for ten years.
And it was worth the wait.
What was at first a cage, was now her ticket to whatever life had planned for her, all with a dumb, broad grin across her face.

MMA.

THE ARMORY
Hero Suit: A full-body bodysuit, complete with gloves and thigh-high boots. Instead of spandex, this is made out of metallic fabric, taking the weight from about 1lb to 30lbs, granting Akemi clothes that are as durable as herself. Her jacket is just there cause she thinks it looks cool; it's a standard jacket. The belt is a durable synthetic belt, but she keeps nothing in it; it just completes the look.
Wraps: Hand and wrist wraps, used to wrap and compress the aforementioned areas. The idea is that it allows her to hit harder without risking injury to those areas.
Phone: A smart-phone from a few generations back, she is quite attached to it, citing that 'It has all [her] gacha progress on it.' No one knows why she doesn't just upgrade; she has the money for it.

QUIRK & SKILLS
Titanium
TYPE: Mutation
RANK/LEVEL: C-
SUMMARY: A quirk that has changed Akemi's physiology, 'Titanium' has mutated her into a titanium human. As opposed to having normal muscles, her muscles are composed of the metal as mentioned earlier, the same being said for her bones. Because of this, Akemi is a lot stronger and more robust than the average human.
Due to her increased weight, Akemi gains a weak form of immovability. When she tenses herself, characters with a mortal level of strength are unable to move her arm, for example. Any minor strength boost negates this, or Akemi simply not tensing up, but she is still much harder to throw around than the average person. Strikes don't send her recoiling unless with hit a considerable amount of force.
By the same measure, Akemi is a lot stronger too. She can tear through cars with ease, especially with her metallic fingers. This strength, combined with her metal body gives her great striking power, allows her to bust through a half a foot of concrete without any injury. With great determination, the titanium wonder can throw large pieces of vehicles (roughly 150-250 pounds / 68kg-114kg, or any pieces that hover in that area) over a small distance of 20m. Such feats exhaust her after a short time, however. A maximum of six (6) posts can transpire before both the range and weight limits drop.
Her metallic body grants some other interesting traits. She has a minor resistance to temperatures of either extreme, with thrice the tolerance of a human being before starting to feel it. At a high enough temperature, she will melt, but by that point, she would already be deceased.
Her nerve endings are covered in the same metal, dulling their perception. This dulling is a part of the reason for her high tolerance of temperatures, but it also dulls the amount of pain that she feels by a minor amount too, assuming that the attack doesn't crumble on impact.
This metal also provides dermal armor, via her toughened skin. If a regular person were to punch her at full strength, their hand would break upon impact, but quirk enhanced strikes have no such limitations. While small gunfire will still cause a lot of damage, it won't be lethal unless point-blank with repeated shots.
Thanks to her titanium body, she does not rust when exposed to water, unlike most other metals.
WEAKNESSES/LIMITATIONS: Due to Akemi's increased weight, her speed is lesser than that of her peers. Akemi has 60% of the movement speed of some of her tier level, including both running and walking. However, she is able to move on the spot (i.e. move arms, pivot) at the same speed as her tier. Her incredibly loud footsteps can crack tiles and similar flooring when running, unwittingly causing property damage.
Likewise, anything she rests her weight on has to be 'mutant-proof'; else they shatter immediately. Thanks to her immense weight, she sinks like a stone in water, and therefore can't swim.
Her covered nerves limit her sense of touch and control. Any slight contact on her body, such as a tap on the shoulder, isn't felt. Her stunted fine-motor skills affect her hands the most. An intense level of concentration to not absent-mindedly crush anything placed into them is required.
Her metal body effectively a lightning rod; any exposed current that is remotely near her uncontrollably flies towards her. Quirk-based electricity is an exception if they have a sufficient level of control. She still has fleshy internal organs, so her ability to resist this voltage is nominal.
Magnetic quirk users can manipulate her body. While it would take a quirk immensely stronger than hers to tear her apart, such quirks of an equal or greater strength can immobilize her. However, they can't alter her physiology (i.e. mutate her arm into a sword), only move it. The same goes for her own control over her body.
Regular magnets and magnetic things stick to her, and her to them, such as fridge magnets, magnetized metals, and sometimes even getting her hand paired to fridges themselves. She can become magnetized by a strong enough magnet. Compasses point to her, electronics become bricked and credit cards stop working.

SUMMARY: Through a fanatical obsession with watching/ practicing MMA, Akemi can fight at a higher level than the amateur combatant, albeit not excessively higher. Currently, she is decent at Muay Thai, allowing her to use her enhanced strength to improve the already deadly strikes of the art.
