Kato Hatsune is strange and scary looking to put it bluntly. He is a huge boy with a long scary tail made out of bone. But outside of his long tail, he has red markings all over his body and face. He also has a tendency to scowl and pout when upset or embarrassed which is a little off-putting, to be honest. And his toothy grin full of pointed teeth is scary as hell. He also rarely smiles due to his embaressment of his teeth and tends to hide his face when blushing which happens often. But he has an oddly handsome smile but only to those with odd tastes.

Spiteful; is the defining term of Kato towards others. He is furious and can't let things go. He harbors anger and hatred towards villains and those who hurt others, being unforgiving and grumpy towards others and rarely ever accept apologies and tends to be petty. Kato doesn't trust strangers right away, being skeptical of others in a first meeting. But if you show him any genuine kindness, he will open up to them in a heartbeat. But when he's not showing open antagonism, he is neutral and somewhat indifferent to many things.
Kato is quite cynical of not only those around him but of himself to the point of self-hatred he feels like his belligerence and attitude towards others is a worthless coping mechanism. He suffers from a fear of lack of control over his personality, and his anger he also suffers from a fear of hurting others close to him, which is why he pushes most people away. His main insecurity is about his lack of self-control and defensiveness.
Kato's most shining trait is his determination and will-power. He never gives up on anything for better or for worse. He never hesitates to stand up against those who intend to hurt innocents. He will keep fighting through injuries through sheer determination alone. But he can also be very stubborn and hesitant to accept help or cooperate unless he feels he has no other choice. He feels like he needs to be the one to help others, and never the one helped.

Kato Hatsune was born with his mutation type quirk. His mother was a pro-hero with a bone growth quirk, and his father had a tail. Kato ended up with an amalgamation of both of his parents' quirks'. Kato's family-his mother especially was overjoyed by this unexpected result. It means he would become a Pro-hero with age and her training. Not even an hour after being Kato was a handful due to his long bony tail wouldn't let nurses get too close to him without protection. A hint of what kind of person he would be as he grew.
Kato suffered many hardships while growing up. He was isolated and bullied by his classmates as a child due to his freaky appearance and scary quirk, and was pushed to his limits by his mother who trained him daily every day while he was a child so he could be a pro-hero. But he tried his best to be a kind and gentle child, but he still lashed out and got angry with his treatment by others.
But one day Kato befriended a small kitten in an alley, he adopted her in secret and named her Koko. It would take a week before his mother learned of the cat and he had to bag for her to let him keep it saying its the only friend he had and after some hours of arguing with her husband she allowed him to keep it but he would need to train harder. More painfully. Kato would do anything to keep his first friend. But just barely.
Kato's training during elementary school was intense and borderline abusive. Due to the nature of his quirk, he can bend and put his bones back to place more efficiently compared to most people. So his mother pushed how far he can do this, at first it was the most painful thing he has ever done in his life, but over the months of training he is used to it. But it makes him sick to hear his bones crack and pop back into place to this day. Sometime Kato wondered if being a Pro-hero was worth all of this training and pain.
But he would meet a boy that would change it. A nice and kind boy who Kato would grow to love in the span of elementary and middle school he was the only thing keeping him kind. This boy was Kato first and only crush. This boy was the only one besides his mother to say he could become a Pro-hero. But from him, it was genuine and exciting. Not forced and hurtful like his mother. But during middle school is when the pranks started, the love letter pranks.
When he got his first love letter, he waited on the roof of the school for 13 hours hoping to find the person who sent it. But they never showed up. This cycle repeated for every year after. And it hurt more and more with each passing year until he became numb and cold and just threw out the last love letter in the trash in his final year of middle school. Which turned out to be a mistake as the sender was honest with his feelings and it was none other than his best friend. Who fell in love with him over the years but didn't know about the fake love letters due to being in a different middle school, and thought Kato was a heartless jerk who throw out love letters and he ghosted him for the rest of the year. Kato didn't know this until it was too late and he felt incredibly guilty over his actions, but he was also too scared to admit he was wrong so he kept his mouth shut and moved on, despite wanting to repair the friendship. He couldn't, he was scared.
So for his final year at middle school, he was friendless, but he had a goal in mind. To become a Pro-hero. The Pro-hero [Spinebreaker].

THE ARMORY
Hero suit : A black plated armour suit that covers his legs and arms with a large opening over his abdomen and chest, exposing them. The covered parts are protected by plate which will nullify damage by small sharp weapons such as knives, but will not fully protect against damage that is enhanced by a quirk. Also includes stainless steel claws that he can use to slash at opponents.

SUMMARY:
Kato was born with a large inhumanly long bony tail mutation (which is 10 feet long and weighs about 200 pounds). Which is prehensile and strong in nature as it is able to carry twice it's weight. This mutation includes enhanced physical strenght to move and carry his tail and flexibilty due to the tail making his spine much more flexiable and durable compared to a normal human's to make up for the weaponize nature of his tail.
Tail: The tip of Kato's tail is as hard and as dense as steel pikes with the force behind it being able to dent concrete walls. Due to the prehensile nature of his tail, he can use it to grab things or use them in a fight. But due to its massive size and weight, it's hard to be sneaky or subtle with it in a fight. He can also traverse the city by using his tail like a scorpion to better climb stuff up to his height.
WEAKNESSES/LIMITATIONS:
Due to the nature of his quirk, he has glaring weaknesses. Kato is naturally a slow and heavy runner for his age at about 50% of the movement of those equal to his rank and not an impressive jumper at all at 50% height of those equal to his quirk.
This is due to how massive and unwieldy his tail can be. It is also not invaluable to damage or injuries. His tail takes a long time to heal from injuries even minor injuries will naturally take weeks to heal and when the bone on his tail is damaged he is sensitive to pain due to the nerve endings under the bone being very sensitive.
Also, his tail is dangerous to himself so if he is not careful he can hurt himself or others due to his wild fighting and frantic fighting style. His fighting style is powerful but it is very telegraphed and leaves huge openings for those that can dodge his attacks and if he reaches too far with his attacks it can throw off his balance and may even fall over.
He also has no immunity to elemental damage.

SUMMARY: Kato is able to fit into, wriggle out of places and fit into small spaces the size of his hips or bigger by dislocating his shoulders and using his quirk to retract his ribcage. However, this is not very comfortable for him and he has to reset his shoulders manually and only done when he really needs to.
