329 Words U.A. Gym Outfit | “Ow…”That was the sound of a damsel in distress… well, not really. This was the sound of a girl who had just hurt herself in a somewhat dumb manner. She was, yet again, training in some obscure obstacle course that would get her away from sight and sound. Her first class was already exposing enough as to exactly what she was capable of, which was not what a girly girl like her was supposed to be doing. She was meant to paint nails, dress cutely, and follow trends. Not excel at obstacle courses and beat people twice her size. That wasn’t girly! But regardless of how she felt, she still needed to train at some point. That did not, however, mean she needed to do it within sight of everyone. For this reason, she tended to disappear during breaks and when class was over. She may have been out shopping, but it was equally as likely that she was out training, improving herself. She didn’t get her skills from nowhere, and while she was admittedly blessed with a powerful Quirk, she still trained it every day to get to where it was now. In a world full of powerful Quirks, she needed to be more than just another person with potential. She needed to realise that potential. Which led her to this rather embarrassing incident. Her usual spot was somewhat difficult, obviously meant for higher level students. For this reason, she took her time in going through it. However, this meant she could get distracted. So, she tripped. On a pebble. She thankfully broke the fall with her hands, but that left her with an unpleasant scrape on her arm and a broken nail. Again! She could cry!... But not really. She still reserved the right to pout at her nails, though, which was exactly what she was doing right now, sitting under a tree in the shade and completely ignoring the nasty scrape on her left arm. | W hile he was one who seldom complained, he struggled to suppress his reluctance when it came to physical activity. The one thing keeping him going was knowing that he needed cardio, strength and endurance for his eventual career as a pro hero. Rare was it to see a hero who became winded after only a few minutes of running, which was what was happening today—a hopeful in the field feeling his lungs burn in protest and the familiar coppery taste at the back of his throat while he pushed his body to its limit. He continued to encourage himself by fueling his mind with thoughts like he would be able to better help others if he wasn’t a slouch.
Unfortunately, he was sweating it.
His movements grew sloppier as he came to a gradual stop, placing his hands on his hips while his posture bent forward like a reversed bow. “Hah…hah…” he panted, body demanding and sucking in oxygen in a desperate attempt to renew the vitality he lost in his dedicated sprint. Raising his eyes from the ground, he noticed an anomaly; a girl with vibrant pink hair tripped during an effort much more considerable than his own. Hinata’s eyes widened, concern filling greenish-blue. That looked like a nasty fall! As always, the boy was filled with a desire to help, as she might have been injured from the collision.
Using what energy he had left to spare, he ran—well, more like jogged due to his levels of fatigue—over to her. By the time he managed to do that, she relocated herself under the shade of a tree. Upon his arrival, he seemed to forget about his own troubles and was incapable of masking how short of breath he became in the face of intensive training. Helping out this girl, who was familiar enough and in the same year for him to know her name at the very least, held priority.
“E-Excuse me, Kudou-san, are you okay? That looked like it hurt a lot,” he said, managing to correct his posture somewhat. Attentive to injury, he was able to notice even from an outward glance that there was a scrape on her arm. Lips curling into a small, reassuring smile, he continued. “I can use my Quirk to heal that for you.”

357 Words U.A. Gym Outfit | Though Saori loved attention, she had come here precisely to get away from any sort of attention that might expose her true nature and skills. In a way, it was a form of protection, to make herself more desirable as a friend. She was stupid, not particularly well-read or politically savvy, so she turned to being socially skilled. Eloquent wording and charisma were out of her reach, so she relied on being the popular socialite that those Western movies depicted. They had plenty of friends, and yet even that was hard. Oh, well. At least she loved fashion. Perhaps that was all she was good for. But of course, she could only get away from sight for so long, and ever since being singled out by the teacher and pushed to perform at her best, people seemed to be finding out about her skills left and right. Much to her utter dismay. Not smart, not a paragon of heroic imagery, and now she wasn’t even a girly socialite she’d initially portrayed herself as. Of course, this meant that someone else would see her. Right on cue, the concerned voice of a male classmate of hers rang through her ears. Despite her frustration, she put on the same sweet smile as always. It wasn’t fair to get angry, right? The boy already seemed to be dealing with enough as it was, gasping for air. He was… Hinata, from class 1-A. Not the most physically fit, but he seemed, like, super smart! And kinda cute, now that she looked at him. “Oh, hi, Takahashi-san! Nice to meet you!” she greeted him cheerily, “Just call me Saori. Or Saori-chan, or whatevs. Feels kinda stuffy with all this last name stuff…” She trailed off, then suddenly came to attention and showed him her nails, one of which was broken, “Heeey, can you fix my broken nail? I really don’t wanna keep breaking them, but the teacher is so mean and makes me train harder! Please?” She pleaded in a slightly whiny tone, purposefully attempting to bring attention away from her injury. It wouldn’t do for her to look all roughed up. Hinata Takahashi |

| B efore he could respond on the matter of honorifics and eschewing the use of surnames, the conversation teetered in the direction of a broken nail. Granted, Hinata did not mind foregoing formality and using first names if the other person would not take offense; thus, he lacked many words to usher in response to the request. Instead, his attention was drawn to the broken nail on her finger. Though it was caused by the tumble she experienced earlier, the boy doubted it was the only damage incurred from the fall. Treating the broken nail was literally the least he could do, but who was he not to oblige? He could do both.
“Oh, sure. Let me see your hand,” he asked gently. Should she allow him to reach forward and take hold of the finger in question, he would put his Quirk to use. This was not an injury that required a great deal of stamina, not on her behalf or his, to treat. Whatever minor sensation she felt in her cubicle would diminish, and the accelerated functionality of her finger would repair the keratin lost courtesy of a medicinal balm secreted from the palm of his hand. “There we go.” Although he repaired the minor infliction, he could not help but catch sight of the greater ailment on her arm. After healing a great number of minor injuries over the years, he gained an eye for detail.
“Your arm’s injured too, Saori. I can treat it as well if you’d like,” he’d pause for a moment. “I’d really like to help, it looks painful.” Hinata gestured towards the infliction, and should Saori permit him access to it, he would use the same hand to apply the same salve to the scrape. Such an action would rob it of the pain it instilled, as well as the surface damage to her skin. Unlike the broken nail, he could only mend an injury of this nature a handful of times. Hinata didn’t mind, however—anything to alleviate the pain of others.

362 Words U.A. Gym Outfit | In theory, it was the perfect cover. Distract him from her actual wound in favour of exposing something petty that would be easily fixed and dismissed. Especially true if she put on her “popular girl” personality and made it out to be a disaster; she found that people got tired of having to deal with the somewhat obnoxious front, and just decided to leave after that. Hinata seemed like a somewhat shy and reserved boy, not very used to dealing with someone like her. She’d hoped that’d be enough. Of course, it was only in theory, and the theory of a girl that wasn’t particularly bright. “Thanks a bunch, Hinata! Is that part of your Quirk?” She asked, looking at the now repaired nail, though she noticed the paint on it didn’t heal, much to her dismay. She made a small pout, but hey, at least the nail itself was fixed! That was better than all the other times she had broken her nails training. “Your arm’s injured too, Saori. I can treat it as well if you’d like.”Dangit. It seemed that her plan didn’t quite work. How annoying! Why was literally everyone bearing witness to how ungirly she was!? This wasn’t how it was supposed to go at all! “Ah, that… yeah, I sorta hurt myself more.” She said, attempting to brush off the wound. But then she looked into his eyes… and concluded that she didn’t have the heart to deny such an earnest boy. It’d be the height of cruelty! With a smile she’d extend her arm, “But yeah, I’d like that. Thanks, Hinata!” She said gratefully. After all that was said and done, she couldn’t help but take notice of just how exhausted Hinata looked. Even from just walking towards her, she could tell he’d been at it for a while, or at least enough to get him to this state. He had helped her with her injury, so she decided to repay the favour. “Hey, Hinata. You were exercising, right? Maybe I could help you with that. I know a bit about that sorta stuff. What do you think?” She said, extending an offer for help. Hinata Takahashi |
