RUMOR/SECRET: | can be minor/major, something about them that's whispered in the streets~ |
Hakucho is an interesting fellow with a few eccentricities that could make him dangerous to himself. Lonely, Hakucho feels like he’s missing something. His sister is that something, and he feels like he could’ve had a different, maybe better life with her. He wouldn’t have the same resources, but at least she’d be alive, and he wouldn’t have the memory of her death seared onto his mind. On the other hand, Hakucho is very much genuinely sweet with a sensitivity that, among other things, leads him to love helping people, sometimes despite risks. He’s not stupid, or anything; Hakucho is just eager to please, and always tries to do his best, sometimes in dangerous situations, but he still knows how to pick his battles. In that arena of being eager-to-please, Hakucho tries being friendly with everyone - unfortunately, many aren’t interested in being friendly.
One should not be misled by Hakucho’s sweetness. He is still a Hidekazu, even if not by blood, and his mother and sister are both warriors as he is. Hakucho can be highly efficient in combat, goal-oriented, and perform his heroic duties with a calm, strategy-focused mind that can allow him to take most opponents out. To him, it’s a performance - combat elevated to an art.<p>
Hakucho is still left fragile by Sadow’s death as she was his protector. She’s part of his need to be a good hero, to serve his people. Even if he were far from home, he would do his best to keep in contact with his people instead of running away or dropping them. He would return should they need support, no matter how long it had been. Sadow would have wanted that after all, with all of that loyalty of hers and her devotion to their people. Hakucho misses his sister, and deeply wishes that he could see his sister returned, or at least honor her in some way. The need to honor Sadow through achievements and prowess in combat fuels an ambition that might be taken advantage of by more ‘entrepreneurial’ souls.
Somewhat ‘messed up’ thanks to what happened to his sister, Sadow is a bit broken; being a little strange in the first place doesn’t help the Hidekazu’s situation very much. As a result, he can be a bit promiscuous if he’s not in a relationship (or an exclusive one, at least), and drinks, as well as parties. At least he’s honest, though.
Hakucho is alright with polyamorous relationships as long as it’s one in which everyone knows the others, and where they all consented to such a thing. He isn’t sure how he’d feel if it was the policy of some man*****, though. Hakucho enjoys playing pranks on others - primarily those close to him - but he doesn’t do so frequently as a lot of people are quite dangerous if you rub them wrong. Sure, he’s reckless with himself to a point, but would rather avoid being tortured to death (some of his relatives are very dangerous). He’s fairly impressionable, too. With the wrong people, he could even end up with a drug problem. He presents a playful and coy demeanor, enjoying harmless flirtations, teasing, wit, and, if the mood strikes, somewhat uppity in his play.
Hakucho likes animals. What kind you ask? All of them! Each deserves to be loved, even if they’re poisonous or want to eat his face. Hakucho will probably even talk to them, especially if they seem sad, lonely, or neglected. Hakucho isn’t aware that he may look a bit insane. For some reason, it hasn’t really occurred to him that people might think that. Among those privy to such knowledge, no one is really sure why he’s failed to notice that little thing. In terms of likes, he also enjoys trying new things. Hakucho likes to talk, but drifts between being talkative and quiet, depending on the day, and depending on his worries of influencing others. He can be a bit annoying at times, and looks like he has something to say quite a bit because he almost always does.
Hakucho is far from perfect, but he doesn’t have a (personal) concept of sexism or racism, though he understands that they exist, and can see how someone can develop those attributes. He won’t unless something significant permanently alters his world view, or someone conditions it into him, but even then such a thing would probably be instinctive and derived from something other than hate; it’d take more than ‘a lot’ to imprint sexism. Healers shouldn’t discriminate after all, and Hakucho will be one some day.
Suffering from a form of PTSD, Hakucho’s symptoms manifest outside of battle, primarily in the form of frequent nightmares and night terrors, self-recklessness, an irrational fear of failure, and a constant, nagging sensation about his sister that many would call survivor’s guilt. Terrified of the idea of being useless, when Hakucho is unable to do something in a situation he experiences a sensation best described as phantom pain.
Predisposed to admiration, Hakucho often seeks out that he admires or those whom catch his curiosity. Making a trip to explore rumors, or even charting out areas he hasn’t explored, using his achievements to convince an individual to train him since he can be a competent student, or seeking out martial artists and doing much the same are things that he could very well do. Trying his best to contain his glee whenever he interacts with the admirable or the curiosity-inspiring, Hakucho is left with an excitable self that he must reign in to avoid embarrassment. Then there’s performers and artists, who are simply a problem with that plan. They’re very capable of totally enthralling Hakucho.
That’s all there is to a boy named Hakucho… for now, folks.<p>

This is where the largest part of your app goes, the history of your character. Don't be afraid to go into detail, the more detailed the more established your character is. A character that has worked themselves up the ranks is more likely to have a more detailed historical biography. Try to keep it 200 word minimum for basic lower-level characters. Also keep things as realistic as possible, tragedy does not automatically create interesting characters nor does extremism (for every 17 year old school girl that has murdered 40 people in a single year without detection a puppy dies, keep this in mind). Have fun with it though~
THE ARMORY
+ Gayby Boom Bandages - Hakucho uses a grappling and combat tool that comes in the form of bandages composed of an organic material similar to Hakucho's own cellular structure. He can imbue them with his kinetic energy, and while causing them to produce explosions is a possibility - thus greatly expanding his range - but the primary benefit is that they can become extremely durable and stiffer, and are a container separate from Hakucho. This allows them to, at his current stage as a third year student, to become as durable as a steel plate of 4 millimeters of thickness. Hakucho wears the bandages under his clothing, on his limbs, abdomen, neck, and hands and feet, as they can also conduct his own explosions without problem, as can his clothes. The bandages around his arms and hands have excess, which can be unwrapped to be used as a grappling and combat tool. This creates a discrete armor. Though, because it is low bulk and focused on maintaining mobility, it doesn't have the capacity to do as much for him as actual armor would. Hakucho can use the ability to strengthen the bindings even after he has exhausted
+ Clothing - All of Hakucho’s clothing can conduct explosions.
+ Tabs - Hakucho also has tabs that he can imbue with kinetic energy, and either throw or stick to surfaces, and cause to explode.
+ Lucifer - A gorgeous genetically modified, adolescent martial eagle as large as a Haast’s Eagle, Lucifer can talk, is fully sapient, and has a towering intellect - much like his father, Dante. Lucifer is, however, a bit of a prick. Hakucho hasn’t learned falconry yet, and Lucifer has lashed out because he effectively is jobless as a result, and can’t hero with Hakucho. Lucifer belongs to a genetically modified variant of martial eagle’s designed by Hakucho’s adoptive mother, and has bioimitative properties that allow them to take on some of the attributes of the individual that they are bonded with. Lucifer can absorb as much kinetic energy as Hakucho, but has not yet developed any ability to vent that energy offensively, and perhaps he never will.

QUIRK & SKILLS
Explosive Kinetic Hyperextension
TYPE:
RANK/LEVEL: C+
SUMMARY:
Hakucho has a unique cellular composition resulting from a mutation. His cells are composed of an unique energy absorbing organic element - only able to be reproduced in a laboratory using samples from Hakucho, each of which has a limited amount of possible uses with contemporary technology - that allows him to absorb and store kinetic energy. As kinetic energy is everywhere, he can absorb the weight of a small car impacting him, wake up to punch the walls to build up his absorption rate, or even absorb it from steps, knife stabs, and enemy punches. Hakucho can survive a lot more than he can vent. He has full body absorption, and can survive the weight of a 1 ton object impacting him at 75mph, though this is dangerous enough that he would endure bruises, and lacerations, which rise in danger and/or pain depending on location; he might be able to survive some crashes with small vehicles, but the probability of him being able to exert himself after that is low and, in all likelihood, he’ll need medical attention. After that, however, he’ll need to vent some within a post (unless he wants his weakness to trigger; he can, however, emits things earlier). This venting produces an explosive reaction that occurs in Hakucho’s skin, jutting through his specialized bandages and clothing into, currently, simple shockwaves. These originate on his body. The explosion/shockwave produced can be of 1g of TNT up to 100 grams of TNT. 1 gram will probably cause a minor flesh wound. 50 grams could take off a good portion of one's hand. 100 grams could destroy some stone and concrete. Because of his morning exercise, he starts out a thread with enough energy to dish out 50 grams of damage. In the future he might be able to shape the shockwave by modulating the direction of his cells and application of kinetic energy across them in a specific area. This is somewhat larger than the force of a small firecracker to start, scaling up to at max force (from having used and heated up the quirk) to roughly the strength of a full blown demonstrative firework, which, despite the seemingly weak sounding ability, is still rather strong as it could permanently damage normal people (Which most everyone else is).
While wearing his armor or custom clothing, he can also produce shockwaves on any part of his body without ending up naked. With a blade and normal force, you probably wouldn’t be able to make more than shallow wounds cause those require kinetic energy to get very far in a human body, especially one that absorbs kinetic energy. so, you'd have to be a higher rank than him and specialize in piercing damage. With a bullet, small arms fire can be handled, but anything more could damage him extensively.
Shockwaves can be produced in direct response to absorbed damage, taking about half a post following the strike to complete; alternatively, they can also be produced in response to someone trying to hit Hakucho.
WEAKNESSES/LIMITATIONS:
There is a moment when Hakucho creates a shockwave that his durability isn’t there. An opportunistic individual could seize the moment to take Hakucho out; while he can take a punch, without his Quirk Hakucho is just a human; this would be a counterattack, which our system allows for. Alternatively, if Hakucho reaches his maximum limit and doesn’t vent it, or goes over it, a need for a hospital is guaranteed and there’s a definite chance for death. This is because his body's reaction to storing extra energy compounds the damage dealt to hi..
Hakucho can produce a maximum strength shockwaves for a total of 5 posts, but his energy absorption is always on. If he creates weaker explosions, however, he can prolong how long he can fight. After he’s used 5 posts of maximum strength shockwaves, he can vent normally without making a shockwave, or save his energy and imbue his specialized equipment - fully compatible with his power - with it. This makes the energy effectively harmless, and it will no longer pose any risk to Hakucho or anyone else.
Venting is a regular - even daily - requirement for Hakucho because of his extensive exercise regimen. He has to use forces that are a lot harder than in a normal person's exercise to exercise his body, and his regimen is both intensive and extensive - ranging from martial arts to weight lifting, to exposure to powerful impacts. Without at least light exercise, Hakucho risks becoming atrophied. Without moderate exercise, he might become obese. Hakucho doesn’t like to think about the long-term consequences of this, and part of his biochemistry research is likely to revolve around finding a way to turn off his Quirk permanently, leaving him Quirkless; but, thankfully, any significant downsides that would threaten his health are over half a century out.
Hakucho isn’t bulletproof, either. You can penetrate him up to one-sixteenth of an inch. There isn’t a heat component to Hakucho’s explosions/shockwaves.

Jujitsu
RANK/LEVEL: C+
SUMMARY:
Hakucho is a mixed martial artist, and combines Brazilian, Japanese, and Gracie Jujitsu at the brown belt level. While he’d probably steam end up creamed by anyone more skilled than him, the combination of the extensive developments of Brazilian Jujitsu, the historical developments of Japanese Jujitsu, and the strikes of Gracie Jujitsu have allowed Hakucho to catch the attention of figures at the Oyanaka Academy for the Modern Samurai, giving Hakucho more university options. Aside from that, though, the benefit is that Hakucho can decide in which way he wishes to disable an opponent, with the striking posing an additional benefit when combined with the nature of his power. Hakucho uses his bandages with his mixed martial arts.
Survival Training
RANK/LEVEL: C+
SUMMARY: Hakucho is a decent cook, not the best, but he can identify edible food in numerous environments present across the world. He has received survival training similar to those that the military endure by his father, and can find water, navigate strange environments through astronavigation, and similar such survival skills. He can camp, fish, hunt, and more. He can also make a spear, and shoot a bow if necessary, but he’s not going to win an archery contest any time soon - he is better at hunting with them, and is unlikely to ever use them in combat. This is kind of a catch-all skill, and he doesn’t excel at any of them, but he can keep you alive for weeks in some very hostile environments, so that’s a benefit.
Gymnastics/Acrobatics
RANK/LEVEL: C+
SUMMARY:
Hakucho has been in a gymnastics class since he was a child, and enjoys a championship career. He is flexible for a man, and skilled enough to flawlessly mesh his gymnastics, acrobatics, and parkour with his combat style, making it more his. This is his primary athletic skill, and he performs for the school. It’s likely that he has a bright future, but right now, though he’s seasoned, he’s still only a teenaged athlete. Maybe he’ll do more in college.
