Sun stands at a whopping five foot three, not very tall even by Japanese standards. He's slender - but he does have some muscle, especially in his legs and torso. Sun has long eyelashes and tends to keep his hair in a medium length.
Biologically female, Sun wears a binder to flatten out their chest. Fashion wise? Sun-hee is always dressed well - fashionable, always put together. He tends to wear things that while are knock-off tend to be in "season." He cares a lot about his appearance, some of it comes from years of presenting as someone he wasn't, and some comes from presenting as the person that he feels as though he is.
PERSONALITY
LIKES a fightreading men's fashion video games | DISLIKES deadnaming bad hygiene losing indie music |
RUMOR/SECRET: | born female (named chan-hee) descended from a crime/villain family rumored to have a serious bloodlust |
Sun-hee or Sun for short is an outwardly confident boy attempting to grow into a man. He's smooth, charismatic, with a kind smile - a boy said to have a good head on his shoulders.
However, Sun is very secretive, insecure, and self-conscious. He's always making sure he's "passable" as what he wants to be and that's male. He's known to be shallow, with his appearance and others. He judges books by their covers, their smell - especially personal hygiene.
Sun tends to be a flirt - a tease, really. It never goes far, never risks people getting close to him for that reason.
He's also rumored to have a certain twinkle in his eye when he fights, and happens to lose himself in a good - adrenaline packed - fight. There's been more than one occasion where he's had to be told to stop when a fight has gone to far.
Overall, not a bad guy, but certainly not a good one either. Could be an antihero when he gets older, or be a villain like the rest of his family.
BACKGROUND HISTORY
PLACE OF BIRTH/HOMETOWN: | seoul, south korea |
PARENTS: | seo-yeon gung (mother), hyong-so kim (father) |
SIBLINGS: | jae-jin gung (twin brother) |
SIGNIFICANT OTHER: | none |
OTHER: | kiyoshi, black cat |
The story begins with Seo-yeon Gung, a tempest of a woman. She was strong, relentless, feared first born child but not the heir of the Gung Crime Dynasty as she was a daughter, but she worked tirelessly to try and change her father's opinion - shape into a woman more than capable of handling the Gung family business - she had hands in it all, murders, human trafficking, torture. Still, when it came time to name his heir, he picked his second born son who was more than reluctant to accept the position and married her off to a man who would strengthen a relationship with a neighboring, but as powerful family.
Soon, she falls pregnant and gives birth to two children - twins - a girl, and a boy. She names the girl Chan-hee and the boy Jae-jin - partially after her brother, who while she was jealous of, she loved dearly.
The twins had a fairly decent childhood, their mother was loving but stern - always training physically too. Their father was more of a businessman, never really home and always away with "dealings."
When the twins were four, Seo-yeon was contacted by her father and given a job. A job that had to be carried out swiftly, surely, without remorse. One where it couldn't be tied back to anyone - especially the Gungs, and he trusted his oldest daughter with such a task. It was a chance to prove herself, he told her. The job was to take out the daughter of the Moon's leader who had fled to Japan, hired by the Moon family themselves.
So Seo-yeon packed her bags and left, it had seemed like months that she was gone until she returned with a lock of quirkless Moon's hair. She presented it to her father, and he praised her. She returned home, and told her children to pack - quickly, swiftly, take only what they could carry.
Before long they were all boarded on a plane to Japan, and when they landed they were met by two pinkettes - a small boy, and a woman with a kind smile. She introduced them as Romi and Gi, they'd be staying with them. She introduced her children Jae-ji and Chan-hee, her daughter, and Chan-hee squirmed in their overalls. The word daughter made them uncomfortable, like it didn't fit. "Mommy, I'm a boy." They said, and Jae-ji nodded.
Seo-yeon nodded, taking in the whole idea at the airport. It had been a while since she had seen her children so she decided she would let it rest for a while.
They all went back to Gi and Seo-yeon's apartment, it was cramped - three small children sharing a bedroom, the adults sharing another. Ji and Sun would fight. Sometimes they caught their mothers' kissing each other cheeks.
The three kids were close, growing up together - all unsurprised when Chan-hee came out as definitely a boy and wanted to be called Sun-hee instead. Sun and Romi were especially close, making a blood brother bond at ten. Quirks appeared for the twins at ten, lightning for Sun and water for Jae-ji. Making trouble for their mothers.
Puberty was hard for Sun, the development of a growing female body was dysphoric - a growing chest, slenderizing of their waist, .widening of their hips - all things Sun hated when he looked in the mirror, how his body no longer mimicked what he wanted. Luckily, Sun's family was supportive - buying him binders, clothes that fit better, taking him to the right barbershops. He started a hormone treatment at twelve.
School was okay, but Sun-hee was a lot like his mother - restless, adrenaline-hooked, ready for a fight. He trained a lot with his mother - who was a skilled martial artiest, and had a super-strength based quirk. He'd fight in school a lot, some of it was lashing out due to bullying about his gender identity but some of them were just mutual fights, both agreed on for the hell of it.
For highschool, the three applied to U.A Highschool and they were all accepted.

QUIRK & SKILLS
RED LIGHTNING
TYPE: Emitter
RANK/LEVEL: (C)
SUMMARY:
RANK/LEVEL: (C)
SUMMARY:
Sun-hee's quirk is red lightning based. All of the Gungs' quirks have been combat based and Sun-hee's is the same. Sun-hee is able to harness his quirk and form almost - armor like substances, articles that are completely made out of lightning - hot to the touch, electrocuting all that's around him.
In it's current state this is pretty much all he's able to do - while impressive, he is only able to harness it to form certain things around his body (gloves and boots), he can use conductors (aka special throwing knives) to make long range attacks, but is currently unable to use his lightning based quirk to be purely offensive. It is, in its current state, only a quirk that really grants personal buffs.
LIGHTNING BOOTS:
Able to form boots made out of red lightning which is insanely hot to the touch - also allows for an increase in speed. Allows him to jump decently high as well (plus it electrocutes everything it touches). Can run at max speeds of 40 mphs, however his stamina has to keep up with this - can only do this for short periods. 1-2 posts.
Normally, can run on speeds of about 20-25 mphs with this quirk active.
Able to keep this up currently for 7 posts.
LIGHTNING CLAWS:
Allows Sun to form claws on both of his hands that just like his boots. He's also able to coat weapons and throw them with this skill. Sun's gloves have a rather destructive quality to them. While equipped, Sun is capable of essentially blasting through concrete/brick walls with strikes of electric elemental damage. While these strikes don't come with the usual stunning attribute normally attached to this element, they make up for it with their explosive power.
Cannot use with lightning boots at the same time.
For two hands 5 posts is the duration.
One hand the duration is 8 posts.
LIGHTNING ABSORPTION:
Able to absorb electric based attacks to a certain point, causing him no harm. This also counts towards his own quirk, he's able to absorb lightning based attacks and they increase the power of his own quirk. He is able to fight at 1½ times his normal speed, and he is able to fight with 1⅓ more firepower - aka electrical damage.
WEAKNESSES/LIMITATIONS:
- Sun's Lightning Absorption counts towards his own quirk, he's only able to take so much electric based attacks and can only absorb so much. After he hits a certain limit, it all discharges, shocking everyone including himself. He's rendered essentially quirkless at this point. He's also left insanely weak at this point. Happens after 5 continuous posts.
- When it comes to water, it increases the strength of his electricity powers, he's able to shock anything in a body of it, or have it follow a current of water (ex if someone with a water based quirk shoots a stream of water at an enemy, he is able to "add" his quirk to theirs.) However, he also shocks himself - rendering him essentially short-circuited for 2 posts. However, this is different then his absorption ability. Rather than being left in a "weaken" state, unable to fight like his absorption ability, Sun takes a ¼ the amount of electrical damage put into the attack (which does not include the increase of strength added from the water element) and is rendered unable to use his quirk for 2 posts.

- His quirk is made essentially useless by quirks that counter lightning or electric, etc quirks based on rubber or anything else that can absorb electricity.
- Earth based quirks counter him, have the advantage - forces him to expend more energy, more strength. Forcing him to only keep his quirks active on the offensive or defensive for half the amount of time.
- Sun-hee's behavior, reckless - quick to fight, reluctant to quit, headstrong, adrenaline addicted. He leaves himself open to much - prioritizes damage over thinking it through. Likes to fight stronger opponents. Fights like he has a death wish.
- Sun-hee's quirk can make him fast and hit hard. However, he doesn't have much endurance to being hit. If you hit him in a place not covered by his lightning armor he may be in trouble.
TAEKWONDO
RANK/LEVEL: C
SUMMARY:
Sun-hee's mother is a martial artist, studying many kinds of martial arts. However, the one that Sun-hee took interest is his mother's skill of Taekwondo - a martial art prioritizing fast kicks, spinning kicks, kicks so high they can hit someone's head (etc). Works very well with Sun-hee's lightning boots ability. He's most likely an intermediate in this - not close to being a master, but definitely not a novice.
Again, he fights like he's bloodthristy.
