Sho is very tall for his age, already well beyond the average height of the adult Japanese male. Sho's features are especially well defined and handsome looking, as he has an exceptional gene pool to inherit from with both of his parents being models. There is never even a speck of teenage peach fuzz on his face, and is always well-shaven. Sho has long, flowing blonde hair, which is likely one of his key defining features if someone were seeing him from a distance. As for his build, Sho doesn't seem to have an ounce of fat on him, as he's applied himself with a well-structured (vegan) diet, and thereby has a lean build lined with muscle from all the exercise he needs to be a hero. Although Sho has a strong sense of fashion, Sho dislikes neon designer clothes and prefers a hybrid balance between posh and casual clothing, with fashionable jackets, slacks, and elevated dress shoes. Last, but certainly not least, are Sho's sunglasses which he has a heavy penchant for, and can usually be seen wearing, even when he's indoors.

RUMOR/SECRET: | He's a vegan. |
Sho Katsura could be described as a complicated individual, a young man caught in the crossfire of the high life and the expectations it brings. On the surface, Sho appears, and is, arrogant, pretentious, and snobbish, who typically uses pretentious literary devices to convey his messages, and to him, anyone who doesn't get it isn't intelligent enough to understand. Sho has all the makings of the quintessential rich kid that thinks the world revolves around him and what he wants. Only naturally was his grandiose demeanor bred from being the son of two upper-class supermodels in Tokyo, thereby giving him a keen taste in fashion and artistic design. Beneath the surface, however, there is an incredibly tenacious, genuinely intelligent, and ambitious individual with a rich, well-thought out personal idea of responsibility and morals that everyone should abide by. These morals are mostly to be responsible, and if you're not trying your best to obtain your goals, you don't deserve to them at all. As one might be able to tell, he is a bit sanctimonious about them, too.
However, although Sho may possesses this moral compass, what drives him more than anything is his insatiable desire to live up to his upper-class parents colossal expectations. Sho was born with a powerful quirk, and his parents' marriage was not one made of love; it was to create a son with a powerful quirk from two parents who had relatively meager quirks. Sho's parents have high expectations for Shoto become a highly-successful hero, and Sho, deep-down, absolutely needs to feel like he's living up to everyone's expectations, especially his own. As one might expect from this kind of marriage, it was dysfunctional, and Sho would be physically and verbally abused frequently as a punishment by his parents whenever he would make a mistake as a child, because his parents wanted to "teach" Sho the price of failure. Sho didn't have many friends growing up either, both causing Sho to be quite aloof and distant from sharing his true feelings with other people. With sparse friends, those that eventually do become Sho's friends, naturally gravitate to his circle of charisma, as Sho finds himself in the role of the ringleader in an oddly magnetic way when this happens, as per Sho's use of passive aggressive behavior.

BACKGROUND HISTORY
PLACE OF BIRTH/HOMETOWN: | Tokyo, Japan |
PARENTS: | Kado Katsura, Mitsu Katsura |

Humble beginnings; a humble beginning would be that of someone that from a low social ranking or someone that is simply poor; Sho Katsura was not born into humble beginnings. Since his parents' deliberate inception of him, he was born to standout, both with his quirk and in society. Sho's inception came about when his father, Kado, an influential male supermodel decided that he wanted his legacy to be a son with a powerful hero quirk. This ambition didn't come from good will, however; this came from a narcissist that saw his son as a vanity project, to assert even greater influence upon the world with his sons power and eventual influence of his own. Kado started by consulting a quirk planning clinic to find a potential mate that could create a more effective power with his quirk of simply just being able to store ambient energies, but not being able to do anything with them. Fortune smiled upon this lucky bastard, however, as the clinic argued that Kado could mate with another model they found, who had the quirk of being able to channel minor psionic force fields through her eyes, and could possibly have a son that had the quirk of being able to produce optic blasts from his eyes, possibly of any form he wished, with the research they had down. Kado contacted her, Mitsu Yanagita was her name, who apparently had similar ambitions as she told him. However, Mitsu was only playing along to the heart strings of Kado, and had ambitions of obtaining wealth and power by marrying in with the more wealthy Kado. It was just both their luck, as it was only a matter of time before all these things set themselves in motion in marriage and child birth, and Sho was born.
From the second Sho was born, the pressure was on him to succeed and to standout among his peers. Sho learned to walk, talk, write, and read at an especially young age, as his parents wanted their son to standout, even in something as minuscule as pre-school. He was considered to be gifted by his teachers and the doctors that saw him. Of course, this bred a sense of arrogance and superiority in Sho at a young age, but, at the same time, also the need to prove that he is the most talented and the most capable; this mentality was only bolstered by the fact that his parents were occasionally cold to his emotional needs, when they would neglect him to be alone for long periods of time while they went away, and frequently punish him for failure or even the most minor of shortcomings, both verbally and physically.
When Sho came of age to find out what his quirk was, it was just as it was foretold by the doctors; molecular acceleration. When Kado saw with his own eyes the power that Sho held in his hand as he demonstrated for him, Kado lifted him into the air and spun him around joyously like his father had never done before or since; Sho remembers this moment in his childhood in both fondness and melancholy, when he vainly tries to remember his father for how he can be, instead of how he actually is which is harsh, single-minded, and incredibly demanding. This event embedded Sho with even more arrogance, as he's to believe that he is meant to be a gifted, capable future hero with a powerful quirk, from an influential family in the entertainment industry.
Sho soon learned martial arts, on the stern authority of his parents. His parents hired an aging, retired mixed martial artist that once trotted the globe as a world-renowned cage fighter before losing multiple big match fights and fell out of flavor with the fickle Mixed Martial Arts fanbase. His name was Kojiro Miyazaki, who taught Sho both Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai. Sho developed a close relationship with Kojiro, like that of a father and son relationship he didn't have with his emotionally distant father and mother. Overtime, Kojiro became increasingly aware about the relationship Sho held with his parents that he became less and less tolerant of, as he saw the side effects of the burden Sho had to carry. One day, Kojiro had a heated argument with Kado, Sho's father, and it wasn't long before Kado fired Kojiro, and Sho never saw him again for fear of the punishments of his parents. Kojiro was shortly replaced with another instructor.
After Kojiro was fired, Sho realized the void that was in his life; the absence of genuine love. Sho single-mindedly dedicated himself to succeeding in school and getting into U.A., effectively trying to store his emotions and absent family life into a box and carry it with him to the finish line, rather than deal with them directly, as doing so would distract him from his studies and fracture the uneasy peace in his personal life at home. Sho retained his arrogance, blindly dismissing the issues at home and the things his proud nature represented. Sho's continued diligence to his studies paid dividend, after he received his acceptance letter to U.A. after taking both their physical and written exams.
THE ARMORY
QUIRK & SKILLS
Optic Blast
TYPE: Emitter
RANK/LEVEL: C
SUMMARY:
Sho Katsura's body automatically collects and harvests ambient energies such as solar radiation, photons, and cosmic rays, and is able to unleash these harvested energies, with a powerful optic blast from his eyes at will. The baseline characteristics of the optical blast is a ruby-colored laser coming from both of his eyes, travelling roughly up to 75 meters before it disintegrates. However, this isn't always the case, as Sho is able to willfully choose the range, shape, size, force, sound, color and effect that the blast will have, such as a burning sensation, a "flashbang" effect, or a purely concussive shot. This is why the quirk is called "Optic Blast", and not "Laser Eyes" or a name of the sort, because Sho is able to choose the characteristics of the blast.
As for the aforementioned effects, the amount of effects Sho can apply to his optic blast are finite in the sense that these are the ones he currently knows how to do, but, in theory, he could also have more effects in the future from practice and experimentation. They are, as follows:
Laser: This is the base effect to Katsura's optic blast, that takes the form of a ruby-colored blast/beam, but can take any color if Sho so decides; it also assumes the general qualities of a laser, giving it some armor penetration capabilities.
Scorch: Sho is able to unleash a mostly short range volley of flames from his eyes, at a maximum range of 40 meters. Unless specified otherwise, the scorch effect assumes the same amount of force as the base laser effect.
Flashbang: Sho is able to emit from his eyes a flashbang effect from his eyes, disorienting their vision and physical senses to the same extent of that of a flashbang going off. The strength/distance of the Flashbang effect varies based on how much effort Sho puts into it, with the flashbang effect ranging from point blank to thirty meters at its absolute most.
Concussive Blast: Sho is able to emit a concussive blast from his eyes, if he decides that he needs someone alive, and doesn't want to risk accidentally killing someone with his base laser effect. Concussive blast removes the laser qualities from his base effect, but is left with the same amount of force and also travels the same distance.

WEAKNESSES/LIMITATIONS:
The most obvious weakness of Sho's quirk is that the energy emits from his eyes. If his eyes are damaged, such as them being poked, Sho will find it harder and certainly a lot more painful to use his quirk, as he'll need to push through the pain to force his eyes open and fire a blast. There is also the issue of the eye being completely removed, ruined, blinded, which is another weakness of his quirk, and that's the innate sensitivity of the human eye.
Additionally, if Sho uses his quirk for too long, he'll begin to experience some substantial physical drawbacks with his eyes, that being roughly three to four rounds of combat. Initial physical symptoms start out as irritation, sensitivity to light, and the reddening of the eyes. Eventually, sharp pains will begin to develop in the eyes as well, and if quirk use is continued thereafter, temporary blindness, which can last for several hours. Depending on what type of characteristic, or how many characteristics, Sho chooses for an optic blast, these physical symptoms can be expedited in their levels of severity as well.
Although intelligent, Sho also has the tendency to carry his arrogance about himself too far, and make the mistake of dismissing an opponent or being too overconfident in his strategies as well.
Hand-to-Hand Combat
RANK/LEVEL: C+
SUMMARY:
Sho and his parents take his protection very seriously, both in the future as a hero that will have to put himself in harms way and as a new prospect that might have to defend himself on the street. As such, Sho was opted, as per a martial arts instructor that his parents hired, to take up both Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at a relatively young age to better protect himself and prepare himself for a future of fighting crime. Sho uses Muay Thai, the art of the eight limbs, to his advantage, utilizing various clinch techniques, fists, elbows, knees, and shins. Not only is he proficient in these techniques, but in his physical conditioning as well; Muay Thai has a high focus on body and aerobic conditioning, and Sho is no exception to the matter as he is quite literally "ripped". To round out his grappling and ground game, Sho uses Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Thisart allows for Sho to protect himself against a larger opponent using joint locks and chokeholds, and is currently a brown belt.
Willpower
RANK/LEVEL: C+
SUMMARY:
It's said that it takes a strong man to deny what's right in front of him: the toxic relationship he has all these years with his parents. Sho has a tremendous force of will, shrugging off years upon years of physical and emotional abuse from his parents, to blindly push forward in the name of success and expectations that have been set for him, denying the past for the greater goal that's his success as a hero. As such, Sho is incredibly committed to his success in school, studying long hours to ensure that he receives the most optimal grade. He's also known for his relentless determination in fighting as well, never wanting to back down for the sake of his own pride and expectations that he feels he must live up to.
