[attr="class","sinner"] [attr="class","sinner1"] [attr="class","sinback"] [attr="class","sinnert"] So the day finally came. It took a lot to go see Fu. On paper it's simple. Get up, walk there, ask to visit Himura Fu, and talk to her. However the mind isn't so kind. The sleepless couple nights after hearing that his girlfriend had cancer and the mental strain he inflicted on himself tolled up over the days. Even he knew what he was doing wasn't healthy, which is why he had finally decided to put it to a stop. Fu needed someone right now, and despite the reasoning for why she's in this state what matters the most in this very moment is someone to be by her side. Even more importantly, someone she depends on, him. He always had this preconception that through heroism the real heroes will inevitably become famous and among Villains, infamous. That infamy will bring rise to attacks in spite, and he always feared that those close to him would be targeted if they were unable to take him down directly. That's why he was so reluctant to go with the feelings he had on that day alongside the setting sun. He felt love, but he thought it wise to not accept hers. Despite his supposed wisdom he did. He vowed himself to be alongside her and like most relationships it's started with the preconception that it will last a lifetime. Hopefully it will, but even when she gets passed cancer people will target her. She's strong but... Villains are crafty and will claw tooth and nail to get what they want most of the time. He just worried, and still like always was burdened with guilt. If he had never said yes she might not have felt compelled to come back to 1-A. If she never came back she'd have never strained her quirk, and it's just too coincidental for her to develop a tumour in her head just after she pushed her quirk further than she had ever pushed it before. He, considered himself the direct cause of her suffering right now and that... It pained him. The only reason he was as okay as he was is because he recognized that no one could've anticipated something like this. That his intentions were genuine and kind and it just made things worse. That was a lesson to be taken from this whole thing. Even great intentions can cause more damage than good. Maybe, anyways. She'll get passed cancer, he was confident in that. Maybe after... His choice will once again appear to have been the right one, but right now that was hard to swallow. Grabbing a white long sleeve shirt and a simple pair of jeans unlike the UA clothes he'd been in for some time now, he'd head out. With him was... Nothing, really. No flowers, no food, no books and no games. It was just him and in his thoughts he knew that would be more than enough. Love to him meant more than the physical, in fact physicality played no role in it. Nothing to do with wealth or status, nothing to do with how someone looked save for gender. The only thing that he really cared for was the depth of a person and... The world would mourn if it lost Fu. That's why he loved her, and that's why he needed to be there. After a half hour walk he'd show up at Fu's hospital. A place big enough to be equipped with the technology required to fight a tumour like the one she had. He'd look up towards the tall building... He'd... He'd literally done this before. In truth, at least five times he'd come this far. Looked at the building and gotten beat by guilt. He had just caused her more pain than happiness, he had thought. Without him pushing her forward she wouldn't be suffering. She loved playing music, he could've encouraged her to do that... This time was different though. With a great weight on his shoulders he stepped into the building. When he did it hit him. Fu was... Within a hundred feet of him. He hadn't actually seen her for like a week, and even that long felt like forever. They had talked a few times in chat but that wasn't the same. Face to face, true and heartfelt feelings from the soul are what spoke volumes for Daiki. Total and complete mutual trust. He felt the notion to tear up but held it back for now. Taking in a deep breath, he moved towards the nurse and indicated who he wanted to visit. With sympathy, the nurse instructed him of the room and offered him a visitors pass. Taking it he wandered through the halls. Fu wasn't the only one here. People from every single walk of life was within these walls. Babies, children, teenagers, adults, and the elderly all sharing a common attribute; or at least most. Sickness. Heroes are defined wrong, the people who work here are Heroes as well. Doing a job that nobody but them could do, saving lives every single day. Saving Fu's life too, where he didn't have the expertise. One door after another passed, many of them closed but the ones that were open just had a patient laying in bed. Some had books to satisfy them and some even had TV to watch or a game to play. It was cool that they'd do that, give them something to do. Finally though he came up to Fu's room. The door was closed but as a registered visitor it was alright for him to go in. He stood outside for several moments, head looking down towards the ground as he talked himself into opening the door. Into witnessing the face that he had indirectly caused so much suffering. Into meeting once more with the girl that he loved in a time where she needed him the most. Would he be enough... Is what he thought. His answer was that he'd be the most he can be, he'd be himself. Opening the door with a small twist of the handle and in stepped Daiki. Taking a couple steps in and shutting the door behind him he turned towards Fu, and offered a soft smile. Futaba hated lying. It bothered her to the core that she felt the need to lie. That she had to lie to her friends. That she had to lie to Daiki-kun. Her mother said that it was not the biggest deal but it still did not feel right. According to her mother, her health was mostly private matter. That the only thing she really had to tell her classmates that she was in the hospital and that Fu was not sure when she would return. It bothered her so much though. She was feeling miserable and she could just not tell her friends the truth. She did not want to worry them more than they already were. The mass of flowers and cards in her room proved that. People who she even had not met signed her card. Today was another day in the hospital for her. She had spent most of the day either sleeping or taking medication. She would work on homework but her brain could barely function. Simple maths problems were a complete strain on her and reading music felt like she had never seen a note in her life. Her mother had tried her best helping her but she could only do so much. After another hour of unsuccessful homework, her mother excused herself, leaving Fu to fester in her own thoughts. Fu felt like she had not moved in days. Nothing had motivated her. Closing her eyes, she listened to the beeps of the monitor in her room. It was oddly relaxing. Relaxing in the, it was there in case of emergencies sort of way. At nights they quieted it down so she could sleep but Fu often found herself dozing off to the beeping. Most of her time at this hospital has been spent sleeping. She had nearly dozed off again when a familiar voice caught her attention. Opening her eyes, she smiled. It was Daiki. He had finally come. It did not matter that he was seeing her in a weakened state, a strain of her hair turning grey for whatever reason. Her eyes were sunken but they brightly lit up as Daiki entered the room. Her hero... "Daiki-kun..."

[attr="class","sinner"] [attr="class","sinner1"] [attr="class","sinback"] [attr="class","sinnert"] " Hey." Daiki responded to her own greeting once more. His voice was soft, gentle with an undertone of sadness to it. Not to be mistaken with mourning or a lack of hopefulness, he knew they'd get through this. However even in getting through it that meant she'd have to suffer through sickness. The fact that she had to do that was what brought the sadness to his tone. Moving over towards the side of her bed, he'd glance for a chair. An easy find, one of those scratchy cushions with metal and scratchy padded armrests. Comfortable for the most part, but that was the least of his worries. His movements were deliberate and gentle, having shut the door behind him already it was just the two of them in the dim hospital room. The sound of equipment working away and registering her vitals and diagnostics in her time of suffering. Reaching a hand forward he attempted to gentle grasp her hand. " It's not fair, Fu-chan. I... You put your best foot forward every day. Through the good and the bad you always were... You. Kind hearted, gentle and innocent. It's not fair that you'd have to go through something like this." He started, taking a deep breath and sighing. " I'm sorry I didn't bring anything." He'd say, looking towards all of the flowers and gifts that people had already brought her. Looking back he'd speak his perspective. " I didn't feel... Like it meant anything, because there'll be flowers, books, instruments I could buy you for a lifetime ahead of us. I know you'll make it through this, and I'll be here from now on every day to help you if you ever feel lonely. I... Missed you, really. Saying it in chat doesn't feel the same." He said before hanging his head. He empathized with her circumstance, yet he was pained in his own way, that guilt was something that nagged at him even if he rationalized his incapability to know that he caused such a thing. Though with Fu right in front of him looking like she did, simply seeing her was enough to blame himself again. This... Because of a choice he made to encourage her to embrace what he thought she truly wanted. He'd give her hand the gentlest of squeezes. " If there is anything you do want though. You can just ask." He'd say. word count here ● @taghere ● notes here [attr="class","sinner2"] [attr="class","sinnerlyric"]ANTHEM FOR THE PEOPLE [newclass=.cred]text-align:center;font-size:6pt;color:rgb(132, 132, 132);letter-spacing:1px;font-family:verdana;margin-top:5px;[/newclass] [newclass=.cred a]color:rgb(132, 132, 132);font-size:6pt;letter-spacing:1px;font-family:verdana;[/newclass] [newclass=.sinner]width:420px;height:500px;background:#fcfcfc;padding:10px;border:1px solid #f0f0f0;[/newclass] [newclass=.sinner1]width:415px;height:495px;margin-top:2px;border:1px solid #f0f0f0;overflow:hidden;[/newclass] [newclass=.sinner2]width:415px;height:495px;float:center;margin-top:-390px;background: url(http://p2.i.ntere.st/cac2dde43e9ed972a1506a77cc406d91_480.jpg);transition: 0.9s ease-in-out;transition-delay:1s;[/newclass] [newclass=.sinner:hover .sinner2]margin-left:-850px;transition: 0.9s ease-in-out[/newclass] [newclass=.sinnerlyric]width:330px;padding-top:405px;text-shadow:#333 1px 1px;font-family:georgia;font-size:25px;text-transform:uppercase;color:#fcfcfc;padding-bottom:5px;color:#fcfcfc[/newclass] [newclass=.sinnerlyric span]font-size:108%[/newclass] [newclass=.sinback]width:400px;height:380px;margin-top:8px;background-color:#fcfcfc[/newclass] [newclass=.sinnert]width:400px;height:465px;margin-top:10px;overflow:auto;text-align:justify;font-family:verdana;font-size:10px;padding:2px;color:#666;background-color:#fcfcfc;line-height:13px;opacity:0;transition:0.8s ease-in-out;transition-delay:0.9s;[/newclass] [newclass=.sinnert span]color:#df444b;[/newclass] [newclass=.sinnert b]color:#555;[/newclass] [newclass=.sinner:hover .sinnert]opacity:1;transition:0.8s ease-in-out;transition-delay:0.9s;[/newclass] [newclass=.sinnert::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb:vertical]border:2px solid #fcfcfc; background-color:#aaa;[/newclass] [newclass=.sinnert::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb:horizontal]background-color:#fcfcfc; border:1px solid #fcfcfc;[/newclass] [newclass=.sinnert::-webkit-scrollbar]width:5px; height:5px;background-color:#fcfcfc; border:1px solid #fcfcfc;[/newclass]

One can learn a lot about a person when they were in a situation that seemed hopeless or bleak. These situations arose too often when people would be struck down by illness. Some people hid from what was happening like it was the case with Futaba's father and even Ryuusei. The only thing she has heard from her father was a short phone call. He was distant as always. It was like this when Fu was still in Otaru but Fu thought things would change. She was his daughter after all, he had to care at least a little bit. Her mother was completely different. When her mother was called, the nurse that sometimes tended to Futaba's parents had to hold her mother back from driving her wheelchair all the way down from Hokkaido. She was later reassured that Futaba's mother was on the next train. Ryuusei not having come to the hospital yet troubled Fu also. Fu thought he would have to be forcibly separated from her bedside but that was not the case. It wore a bit on Fu. A person she had been close with all her life had not taken any time out of his day to see her. Was he a fake like all those kids back in Otaru? The ones that pretended to be her friend only to abandon her. All those thoughts left her mind though as Daiki spoke. She could feel the vulnerability from him. Similar to Fu, he had not let one how much Fu's illness had effected him. "Don't w-worry, Daiki-kun...You just being here makes me happy enough." Fu could feel a few tears welling up from her eyes as she remembered the recent talk with one of the doctors had with her mother while she was half awake. "N-no matter what happens, I'm so happy I met you..."

[attr="class","sinner"] [attr="class","sinner1"] [attr="class","sinback"] [attr="class","sinnert"] 'No matter what happens, I'm so happy I met you.' The sound of those words almost hurt to hear. He... Supposed it was realistic to be open to the worst case scenario, but he'd rather be hopeful and optimistic. In response to her words outwardly there was silence. Processing perhaps, thinking to himself. Sat down on the chair next to her bed he just leaned forward with his elbows planted on his knees and cupped hands bracing his chin. What did the future hold, he wondered. In a view almost greater than himself he considered futures where both possibilities took place. One with Fu and one without. He knew either way he wouldn't give up, it'd be ironic to be beaten by the very same tragedy that he wanted to stop, at least a different way that tragedy is applied. He'd likely be by himself, this would really be his last ever relationship of this level. He'd have close friends sure, but beyond suffering tragic loss he put Fu in harms way if he were to ever get on the target board of Villains. He wouldn't want to do that with someone else. Though just... A feeling, not a thought desperately wanted Fu to be in the future with him. What... Drove that feeling. Love of course, is the simple answer. Plain and simple starstruck love. However the problem is that it's far deeper than that in all likelihood. Maybe he had felt alone somewhere deep down, maybe. He was pulling at straws really. It would be rude to act all cheery like nothing was going on, even if the intention might be to lighten things up. So eventually he let out a sigh at the culmination of consideration. " Fu-chan, you're not going anywhere. I..." No, that's not what he wanted to say. " ... I... I care a lot about you, Fu-chan. And I think you're strong enough to beat this. Centuries ago they had the appropriate medical equipment to battle cancer. Chemotherapy, uh surgery to remove whatever might be there. I mean it wasn't perfect, but a lot of patients especially when it was caught early on went into remission and lived happy lives, right? I mean nowadays while Humans evolved and not entirely they're technology, we've still moved forward. People have quirks that could likely help you somewhere, maybe they can be called. Technology exists- support equipment that blows away what technology of the past could do. I really, really think you can make it through this." He'd say with a pause, taking a deep breath before speaking again. " But... Because we both know that reality isn't perfect, we both know it's not... Well, there's always that chance. So for that I want to say something that hopefully I'll be able to say many times in the future. I love you, and I always will love you. You'll always be with me, either in person or in my heart. I'll never forget you, if it... Does come to that." He'd say, before cheering up a bit. " Still, I do seriously think you have the willpower to get through this. It might take time, but we have time. You're in good care, and you can talk to a lot of people. I've heard U.A has been really supportive in this, academically and well, the other students. And you're good friends with Hoden-san right? Has she visited yet? If not I could bring her over tomorrow or something." He'd say with a light smile. His eyes trailed downwards as he'd fall back into thought, and make himself a bit more receptive to listening. Daiki's optimism was to be admired. Even in his more downtrodden tones, Fu could tell that Daiki was trying his best to see the positives in what was happening. How she was going to make it through her illness. How there is a chance for her to make a full recovery. How there were ways for her to get better. Fu could not help but smile at it. He sounded like the doctors and nurses who talked to her. They were heroes in her eyes as much as her parents were. They took upon themselves a profession that made them deal with such difficult circumstances. She once overheard one of the nurses that she never get over it when she sees children like Fu suffer at diseases that could cut their future abruptly short. Fu did not comment on it because she did not want worry the staff more than they already were. Sighing, she shifted herself a bit so she could look into Daiki's eyes. "Daiki-kun, you don't know how much your words help me. Sometimes when I'm alone here, I'm just lost in my thoughts. I only see the negative because I feel so bad and so miserable it's often hard to see the positives. Even when people are here, it just feels like I'm in this bubble. It's really disheartening." Fu smiled a bit, nuzzling her head a bit into the seal plush that she had next to her. "You'll be a awesome hero, I know it. They talked about what might happen. I need a surgery that could take away so much or just help me get healthy. They don't know what will happen but it will affect my ability to go to U.A. They said it could weaken my use of my quirk and I would have to relearn it like a child just discovering their quirk or...or worse..." Fu chose not to finish the sentence, not wanting to bring down the mood even more. "I just know that I don't regret coming or staying at U.A."

[attr="class","sinner"] [attr="class","sinner1"] [attr="class","sinback"] [attr="class","sinnert"] The words he heard tugged at his heartstrings. As she spoke, it almost felt suffocating and he just wanted to let it out. Let it aaaall out. However he knew better than to fully collapse in front of a person who needed hope and willpower to make it through one of the arguably hardest times in their life. Thinking to himself in but a fraction of a moment in actuality but what seemed like forever, he contemplated what he would do right now. What he could say, even. They say true heroes are the ones that can smile amidst adversity but this... This is something else. Smiling right now wouldn't instill faith, it would mock the grim reality of the situation. So then what... What should he do? What came naturally, as it should always be. Still holding her hand gently with his own, careful not to apply too much pressure to her no doubt delicate fingers and hands, he just... Looked towards her. Eyes conveyed meaning beyond verbal message, heart to heart. The truth of the moment was that he would be by her side to the very end, no matter what that may be. It wasn't sadness at this point, it was steeled conviction. However afterwards he took a deep breath and vocalized some of his thoughts. " Surgery? The fact that they can do surgery is a good thing. They caught it before it became inoperable, that's especially good in the case of a Tumour. That means it was caught early on, Fu-chan. I think as long as you want to see tomorrow and the future that awaits, you'll make it through this. And I'll be here the whole time you're working on moving passed cancer, and afterwards." He paused for another moment and gave her hand a reassuring squeeze before addressing some of the other things she had said. " Of course. UA's the experience of a lifetime, and it's the best place to become the person you want to be. It's no coincidence that so many people have come here with severely... Traumatic histories, on top of working to protect others from what they suffered through, they're looking to become their own heroes. To save themselves of the tar that blackens their past. I'm not just saying this, either. To respect them I won't give names, but I've spoken to many others. I've said it a few times before, but UA attracts extremes, good and bad. It's a wonder I'm here, being from a completely normal rural-settled family, aha." He'd grin for a moment, rubbing the back of his neck with a free hand. " So I just want you to hang in there. The best way to fight this on your end is to be better than it. Being happier won't by itself fix the problem, it's more of a question of why let it put you down? We all live with adversity, and this is undoubtedly reason to not be happy. Though you're surrounded by people wanting to help, and what better way to kick cancer out of the park than to find happiness amidst it? You said it yourself, UA has been something you're proud of going for, so pull through, because we still have a couple years yet." He'd say, somehow finding it more appropriate to dawn a hopeful half-smile. At peace. That is what Futaba would describe herself at the current time. Daiki's words were putting her into a tranquil state. His words but most importantly the look her gave her. His gaze meant more than anything he could say. It reminded her of the time she initially met. Not when she first saw him in U.A. and in 1-A, no. Rather that day in the music room. Everything came back to her. The smell of the old wood. The slight scuttle of mice that inhabited the room over the small practise stage. The echoing sound of her instrument as she tuned it to what she wanted to play. The sun light lazily shinning into room, reflecting off of the wood. Daiki sitting in front of her. Their first kiss... Fu and Daiki were not as different as it appears, at least to her. After that day, she saw a side from Daiki that she doubts most people get to see. A side that was a lot more gentle and quiet. Similarly, he probably saw a side of Fu that was not different from how she usually behaved but rather a more open side of her. Willing to share her reasons for her insecurities. It was a sort of healing process for the student. Realising that there is someone who understood her and who cared for her in a way that was different from her family. Shifting her weight in the bed, Fu moved herself closer to Daiki. Without saying a word, she leaned over the side of the bed and gave him a soft kiss. Returning to the bed, she gave him a soft smile. "Daiki-kun...thank you." She hoped that her kiss and her lack of words would convey the feelings that she was feeling. That he would feel what she was feeling at the exact moment. Yawning a bit, she looked at the time. "Thank you for visiting me Daiki-kun but I think I need some rest." She nodded a bit, before closing her eyes. It did not take long before Futaba drifted softly into sleep.

[attr="class","sinner"] [attr="class","sinner1"] [attr="class","sinback"] [attr="class","sinnert"] And there it was. A reply to his message. In a more intimate way than he expected, but it's not as if it took him completely by surprise. To help her out he leaned forward and gently wrapped an arm around her back, palm resting on her far shoulder to pull her in to return the kiss. It was but a moment, but things like these feel a lot longer than they really are. At least until they're over and hindsight makes it seem brief and nostalgic. After the fact he gently lowered his arm with her in tow, pulling it out from underneath her once her head came to rest gently upon the pillow. Clasping his hands together in front of him, he sat there with spaced legs and elbows rested upon them. Eyes lingered on the side of her bed when she thanked him. To which he simply offered a single nod of his head to express that he had heard her. Whether he believed he should be thanked was a different question, but one neither of them should dwell on- and he did just that. He didn't. Instead his attention lifted when she started to speak further. She did look tired after all as they were talking. When he entered she seemed alright, but as he talked she had seemingly grown sleepier and sleepier. It was melancholic in a way, she was so fatigued by this that even now she was fading into sleep with him here. Though optimistically, maybe it was because he was here. Maybe when he wasn't, the stress and anxiety kept her awake. He held onto that idea and just gave another nod. Standing up as she laid back down in the bed he'd move the chair back to an appropriate place before moving to her bedside. Crouching down he gently rested a palm on her head, a thumb brushing aside some of her bangs ever so slightly. He gave a half smile when he spoke briefly but with clear words. " I'll be back tomorrow. Same time." He said. He would be, and the day after that, and the next one, then the next, and every day he had to after that. Until she was out of the hospital, he'd be at it everyday now that he'd worked up the courage to come by this once. He had to be here for her. With that, he stood back up and took a moment to look out at the view from the window. It was nice, but he could also imagine it was a little hard to sleep with the orange light cascading into the room. Stepping over he gently shut the curtains partway, letting a little view of the sunset remain for Fu to look at if she wanted to while falling asleep. Then, turning back he realized she was already fast asleep. He decided to shut the curtains the full way, before turning and making his way out. She had to make it through this. She had too. The least he could do was be there for her. Stopping at the door entering the hallway he took one last look at Fu. Machine beeping with her vitals, her gentle breathing with the rising and falling of her chest. He hoped things wouldn't get worse, but there was never any guarantees. All he could do was have faith in fate to give a hand up when they'd taken a fall. With that, he headed out of the room. Down the floors of the hospital and out of the building. It was a long walk home, but a thoughtful one. And the experience he shared just then wasn't one he'd easily forget.
