RUMOR/SECRET: | Aoi is dating one of the other teachers |
Aoi is a very confident and general energetic person. She gives every student a chance and believes that everyone has the potential to become a hero. While she does seem very care free, she does not tolerate people acting out of turn. She is not a person to mess around with. Her father raised her to stand up for herself. She does have some vulnerabilities about her femininity. She feels that she was forced into a tomboy role because she isn't the most feminine looking person.
BACKGROUND HISTORY

Aoi grew up in a different household. Both her parents did not have quirks and for the longest time, it did not reveal itself until she was past the age most kids showed signs of a quirk. Aoi was not bothered by the fact she didn't have a quirk. To her, it just absolved her from doing some hero work. Instead of caring really about finding out if she had a quirk or not, she learned martial arts from her father, specifically relating to the naginata. She decided that she was going to carry on the family line of successful martial arts fighters.
Entering school, her quirk finally revealed herself. It revealed itself when she was in choir practice. Most people in the room either fell asleep or got very drowsy. After a few tests, it was suggested for Aoi to transfer schools. While she did, she only transferred to a lesser known hero academy rather than a famous one. She wanted to show that a person didn't need to go to a super famous school to succeed as a hero. So she dedicated her life of increasing her skills with her quirk and her naginata skills. Eventually, she graduated top of her class (a class of 20 but she tends to not to mention).
Once she was able to start hero work, she became decently well-known. Instead of doing hero work in large cities, she did most of her work in the smaller areas of Japan. While she did not do major villain capture work, she did work in the smaller towns and became a folk hero. Stopping petty crime in her local town. She eventually did move on to a larger city to handle some more hardcore crime. She was having a decent time of it, not caring much about the popularity bit but rather wanting just to do good and honor her family name.
Aoi enjoyed doing hero work, keeping up with her naginata training as she went about her life. Her father got to sick one day. Concerned, Aoi moved back home to help her mother take care of him. She retired from hero work and took a job at a bakery to help her mother. Her father eventually died. After mourning the death, Aoi was not sure what to do. She had lost her will to be a hero. The person that inspired her was dead and she didn't want to leave her mother alone. She continued working at the bakery until she heard of an ill falling upon her older cousin.
She really did not know who her cousin was that well but she decided to help. Moving her mother, Aoi applied to becoming a teacher at U.A. Not only did she think that she would be able to help her cousin but also teach students. She thought her skills would be useful, not only for her hero experience but her combat skill. She is still renown for her skill as a martial artist. She then picked up hero work again while still teaching.

QUIRK & SKILLS
Swan Song
TYPE: Emitter
RANK/LEVEL: B-
SUMMARY:
This quirk allows Aoi to tranquilize or calm down individuals using her voice. She does this by singing. Her voice takes on a lullaby like qualities. Her voice does this because the sound waves that she is able produce stimulates brain activity that leads to a tranquil state. Depending on the mental fortitude of the person, they either get calmed down or even fall asleep. It takes a very short time (3 posts) if a person is in a state of complete rage. It takes a long time if someone is calm (10 posts). When Aoi stops singing, the effects of her quirk wear off instantly unless the target has fallen asleep. If the target has fallen asleep, her stopping to sing does not wake a person up. She is capable of singing for a long time (10-15 posts, depending if Aoi sings for each post or is interrupted, posts from Aoi)
WEAKNESSES/LIMITATIONS:
If a person is wearing any sort of device that could block a person from hearing her voice. For her to counter this, she would have to use some sort of equipment that amplifies her voice. Her quirk also is less effective on people who are not in a agitated state. Her quirk also becomes useless if she looses her voice due to illness as she wouldn't be able to use it properly.

Naginatajutsu
RANK/LEVEL: A-
SUMMARY:
Aoi has trained in naginatajutsu ever since she has been able to walk. Her father was a master in the craft and wanted to pass on the skill to her. She is actually recognized as a champion of the competitive martial arts. If she is not doing her job, she is dedicating her time to the skill. It is one of her primary ways of combat that do not use her quirk. It also is in association to her hero outfit (Samurai armor). She can land hits with devastating accuracy and speed, which she uses to disable opponents. She uses her skill actually more often than her quirk to fight.
