Rom is a tall, leanly muscled man who keeps in shape through his work. He's beautiful in a refined way and is certainly closer to 'pretty' than 'handsome'. His blonde hair is long, falling midway down his back in loose waves. Off-duty, he pulls it back in a tail with a black tie. He is always clean-shaven, maintaining a very youthful appearance. When working, he wears his hair down and covers his eyes with a black mask. His hero costume consists of durable material that gives the appearance of black slacks and a white dress shirt. Over this, he wears a long black trench coat.
Usually Rom carries himself with a certain amount of grace and poise. In genial settings, he always graces others with kind smiles and polite mannerisms. When in combat, though, he reveals a darker side of himself that rather enjoys combat. He feels a sense of pride and joy in his work. His sense of justice is strong, and each victorious fight means another threat removed. He gladly puts himself in the way of those who would harm others, and very much views himself as the shield of the innocent.

Rom is what one might call a 'classic gentleman'. He has even been called 'princely' by some admirers. His public image is that of impeccable elegance. He is polite, kind, and charming at all times, demonstrating a prolific ability to handle himself in various social settings and demonstrating a dry wit that he uses well. As a fairly young hero, this skill has served him well in garnering support and building his public image as a pro. He does not, however, enjoy being engaged concerning his bachelor status. All too often, he has been asked about it and, frankly, he's running out of ways to dodge it.
Those who know Rom personally have likely witnessed his real personality. Though still kind, he can be sarcastic and tends to present a more serious front. He is thoughtful and regularly drifts off into introspective thought. He can be brutally honest and does not appreciate anyone who he perceives is dancing around the matter at hand or being dishonest. This means that he can be difficult to converse with from time to time. Despite this, he is an incredibly loyal friend and does well in maintaining personal relationships. He is always unfailingly respectful of those who earn it and does his best to be someone who is worthy of respect.
When dealing with opponents, Rom presents a terrifying image. He seems to enjoy the fight just for the sake of the fight. His goal in this is simple, while he does enjoy his work, protecting the current way of life enjoyed by ordinary people, he reasons that if he is 'scary enough', he might be able to discourage night prowlers and criminals. He endeavors to become a symbol of hope for those he protects and a symbol of fear for those who would be his enemies.
Because of his upbringing, Rom has the utmost respect for women and treats them very well, even describing himself as a feminist. He has unintentionally become something of a women's champion and really doesn't know what to do about it.

Romulus Anselma was the product of a fling between a wealthy Japanese man and a German heiress.
He was raised by his mother's family in Germany, receiving everything that an upper-class child would. Despite his wealthy upbringing, Rom was taught not to use his status as a weapon. Instead, he was brought up to be exceedingly philanthropic, doing his best to aid his fellow humans in whatever way possible. Because of this, he was still very young when the idea of becoming a hero was presented to him. He the quirk, the looks, and the resources necessary for the fulfillment of his dream. He was trained privately to use his quirk and to build his general knowledge, meaning that he did not attend a regular school. As a young teen, he was sent to a boarding school to build his social skills. Upon reaching the proper age for high school, Rom relocated to Japan to attend UA due to the school’s prestige. During this time, he gathered a number of friends, but remained very focused on his studies, fueled by a confidence born of previous academic success. He graduated with high scores and moved into a heroic career, choosing to remain in Japan in the hopes of escaping the family name and the attention it brought. At his start, Rom was a sidekick for a well-known hero, working to hone his skills for usage in the field.
Everything seemed to be going smoothly. He was likable, successful, and climbing the proverbial ladder at a steady rate. Then, he became overconfident and he learned his first hard lesson of being a hero: sometimes, no matter how much one sacrifices, you can’t save everyone.
It started as a routine night patrol. During his time as a sidekick, he had struck up a relationship with one of his fellows, and the pair often worked together. In the wee hours of the morning, toward the end of a very quiet shift, they were taken by surprise, attacked by a number of individuals with powerful quirks. Rom does not recall much of the ensuing fight, as filled with adrenaline as he was, but, by the time help arrived, he was severely injured and his newfound love was dead. His pro saved his life, but, he could not save Rom the pain of his failure.
Soon after that, Rom struck out on his own, becoming a solo pro. He took to wandering the streets at night, when his powers are strongest, seeking to act preemptively after his previous failure. He is wary of being caught off-guard again, however, and is aware of the need for allies. As such, he keeps in contact with his fellows, just in case.
THE ARMORY
Hero Costume:
-A black eye mask, made to obscure at least part of his face. The eyes of the mask are fitted with specialized lenses equipped with night vision, an infrared setting, and a targeting system for long-distance visualizing.
-Long overcoat made of a material intended to deflect range attacks and serve as protection against blunt force. It's good for negating thrown items and regular-powered punches, but, won't do much against a bullet,(or anything else shot at high velocity) or super-powered blow.
-A belt with various pouches for supplies
-Dark pants and a white button up that are both stylish and serviceable for combat purposes
-Soft black boots for comfortable movement and foot protection
-Black gloves equipped with grip padding on the palm and fingers
Equipment:
-Gas pellets full of a solution made for knocking enemies unconscious quickly. This solution would begin taking effect by making a the target drowsy for the first two posts, getting stronger over time. By post three, it's nap time. Of course, if the target were to be removed to clear air before it fully took effect, or had a quirk that increased their stamina, this would be variable.
-Small gas mask
-Smoke pellets
-Pepper spray-like solution, made to irritate the eyes, skin, and respiratory passages. Meant to be a very uncomfortable distraction, not overly painful.
-Dispenser attached to his wrist, made to slide from his coat sleeve and deliver a puff to an opponent's face

SUMMARY:
Rom's quirk allows him to produce and control shadows to an extent. It first manifested as a fog-like substance that arose with him as the epicenter. Then, as time passed and training took place, he eventually reached the place that he is able to produce enough shadow to fully encompass a ten foot radius about himself. He is also able to build on any existing shadows in order to extend his range and better set his combat stage. When using other shadows, he extends that radius to about 15 feet. His quirk is not dangerous in its own right, but he uses it to rob his opponents of their sight and attack them while they are blinded. An outside observer would see a cloud of darkness, like a black wall of roiling shadow. Inside his range, it is pitch black and impossible to see without the use of specialized equipment. The darkness works to snuff out all light produced inside, meaning that even if a person were to turn on a flashlight while in his quirk, they would not be able to see the light. In post length, the darkness lasts for about five in totality before dissipating on the sixth. As it dissipates, it is a dark fog, but no longer pitch blackness.
WEAKNESSES/LIMITATIONS:
Rom's quirk usage requires conscious action. If he were thoroughly distracted, he would be unable to implement it. His quirk is also rendered useless by specialized equipment (like his lenses) that does not require light and focuses on heat signatures. Things that produce bright light (flashbangs, searchlights, light-producing quirks, or even sudden explosions) would disrupt this quirk. Without his own equipment, Rom himself is unable to see within the Drkness. Other senses are unaffected by the quirk. As this quirk is area-of effect, any allies standing within Rom's range will be affected as well. The duration is dependent on his physical and mental condition- the worse off he is, the shorter the duration. The range, too is dependent on his condition. Also, the brighter it is, the more difficult it is for him to use his quirk and the more energy it takes the maintain it, meaning that he prefers to do his hero-ing at night. Anyone with a heat-vision quirk is unaffected by Darkness.

SUMMARY: Having grown up in Germany, Rom speaks German fluently. He did, however, also spend a good deal of time in Japan, meaning that he developed those language skills as well. Admittedly, he is better with German, but, he can fluently read and speak Japanese. Occasionally, he has difficulty with idioms and slang, but, he does his best to learn those and incorporate them into his vernacular.
Hand to Hand

SUMMARY: Hand to hand combat is Rom's main method of fighting. He uses this in tandem with his quirk, meaning that it is what he has focused his physical training in. He excels in both taking on single opponents and large groups. His style of combat is a mix of numerous martial arts and is aimed at incapacitating an opponent quickly and relatively painlessly. Over time, he has developed this through practice and training with other combat heroes.

SUMMARY: Rom was trained by the wealthy to be skilled at navigating social circles. This skill was honed during his time in boarding school and specifically aimed toward business relationships and the formation of political alliances. At UA, that focus shifted toward handling his own publicity. Rom knows how to schmooze, whether on the street with random fans, in an interview setting, or at a high-end shin-dig.
Stealth
RANK/LEVEL: B-
SUMMARY: Stealth is Rom's greatest ally. He went through numerous exercises to develop this skill, focusing mainly in moving quietly to get the drop on those caught by his quirk. He is by no means a ninja, but, he is capable of moving quietly enough to use it to his advantage. Of course, his advantage is lost once he starts fighting, so the skill is developed only so far as to be useful in the darkness.
