THE BASICS

PHYSICAL APPEARANCE

Hanako is a short, slightly pudgy rabbit-human with light ginger and white fur. Her hands and feet are more like paws than human extremities, and her head is likewise more like a rabbit's, with a sloped forehead, rabbit teeth, and wide-set brown eyes. A thick pair of glasses is balanced precariously on what little nose bridge she has, and is secured around the back of her head with a thick, cloth strap. Two buck teeth protrude from her upper lip, which is joined to her nose in the same way a rabbit's mouth is. She has little to no neck, and her arm and leg joints are positioned more like a rabbit's, which makes it difficult to find fitting clothes. Her hands and feet are punctuated by claws, rather than nails. A tiny puff of a tail can often be seen peaking out from underneath her uniform jacket. She does not wear shoes, unless in costume, and her uniform has been custom-tailored to fit her.

PERSONALITY

Hanako has a generally unassuming presence. She is shy and soft-spoken, if she ever chooses to speak. It is not uncommon for people to fail to notice her presence, especially because she walks on paws rather than feet, and has a quieter step than most. While she does not intentionally sneak around, she has been accused of doing so, on occasion. 

While she may not have much of an outward presence, Hana is very observant and well-organized. Even if she does not speak in group conversations, one can be certain she is listening, and making mental notes on the tiniest of details, like who likes what kind of soda, or when someone's birthday is. This makes her the ideal gift-giver, combat analyzer, or classroom note-taker. As such, her grades have always been stellar, and in grade school she was often ridiculed as a "teacher's pet."

Unfortunately, for all she has in aptitude, Hanako lacks in self-confidence. She is a generally anxious person, and is almost always worrying about something. During group projects, she often feels she is unqualified for any role she is assigned, and she refuses to be the leader of the group. She is convinced she is going to end up being a sidekick, and is, for the most part, content with the idea.

This anxiety and lack of self confidence actually helps Hana be very empathetic. She is often able to put herself in others' shoes, to understand their feelings, motivations, and struggles ... even certain criminals and villains! This helps her talk down many escalated situations ... or friends who are calling her in the evening after a fight with their parents and a need to vent. 

That being said, Hanako has an intense dislike of conflict. When it comes to combat, she is able to keep her emotions in check for the most part, but when people are arguing (especially if they're yelling) she is definitely one of the first to turn tail and flee. If the anger is directed at her, she is even more quick to apologize profusely and run away ... then avoid the person for weeks and feel extremely bad. 

Despite her dislike of conflict, Hanako does have a habit of scolding or "mom-ing" her friends. This is likely a habit picked up from her time spent helping her mom run the house after her quintuplet siblings were born. As such, Hana has a better understanding of household skills than most children her age (common cold-esque illnesses, cooking, cleaning, budgeting, first aid, gardening, etc).

Hi journal. My name is Hanako. I am 7 years old and in 2 grade, but I'll be in 3 grade next year. I like vegetables and gardening and I want to be a gardener when I grow up! Mama gave me you today. She says it would be good for me to write here. She says it will be good for me because she is prengant prignant pregnant with lots of babies. I know she and daddy have been going to the doctor's lots and lots since I was little because they wanted me to have a baby siblyng sibling. Now they say I'm going to have four! I am very excited.

Hi Journal (teacher told me to make the J big in your name because that's what I call you). Today my Mama and Papa went to the hospital. They say that my siblings are coming! I'm so excited and scared. I hope I can be a good big sister. I am worried that Mama and Papa won't have time with me, because there will be so many of us.

Hi Journal, 
Things with the babies is good. Mama and Papa let me hold them sometimes, and help feed them. I like how Momo looks like me, but he cries a lot. Asago is the only girl. I'm glad I got at least one sister. 
Chiasa was mean to me today at school. I tried not to cry, but I couldn't help it. Everyone else started making fun of me when they noticed I was crying, too. I hate bullies. 
One of the teachers told her that wasn't very hero-like, and she stopped and started talking about how good a hero she was gonna be. The rest of the class joined in, too, but I think they're silly. Not everybody should be heroes. Then we wouldn't have doctors or teachers or police like Papa. I'm going to be a gardener. Then I can make good fruits and veggies and make people happy that way.

Things were busy today. Mama asked for help with cooking, and I did a good job! It was my first time using a knife. I was very careful, and we made a good stew. Tomorrow we're going to dress the babies up for a festival. I'm going as a gardener, and they are all my vegetables!

Papa has gone missing. Mama says he was called into work, but his work says he never showed up. Now it has been two days since he was here. I don't know what this means. Where could he have gone? Was he hurt? I'm scared. Even Tsubaki, Kiku, Momo, and Asago have noticed he's not here. They keep crying for him. It makes me cry, too. Mama cries when we're not looking.

Papa is still missing. The police come by all the time and ask lots of questions, or call to give updates, but nothing is good.

It's my 11th birthday today. Papa still isn't home. I think he won't ever come home now. He'd never miss my birthday.

Today was rough. Chiasa bullied me again. I wanted to cry, but waited until I got home. I wanted to talk to Mama about it, but she wasn't home. She is always at school or work now ... she looks so tired ... I wish I could help, but all I can do is help grandma take care of the four and cook dinner ...

Today we had an assembly about different schools we can apply to at the end of this year. Of course, everyone wanted to apply to UA ... I kind of didn't want to at first, but then I remembered that heroes make lots of money. I don't know if I'm going to do it yet, but ... maybe I could help Mama? At the very least, I took a flyer ...

THE ARMORY

Hero Suit - A simplistic piece, consisting of one body suit, shoes (the only time she wears them), gloves, and medical-grade goggles. While it offers some grade of protection in combat akin to that of felt (i.e. offers a minimal amount of padding vs physical blows, and will decrease the damage done by--but not stop-- a blade by slowing the weapon, thus making the cut more shallow). It is mostly made of stretchy, breathable fabric, meant more for mobility than combat. The shoes and gloves are meant to combat wear while running, so they are made of sturdier material.

Gym Clothes - Because it's not uncommon to fight/practice/train in Gym Clothes. The standard uniform.

QUIRK & SKILLS

Rabbit

TYPE: Mutation

RANK/LEVEL: D-

SUMMARY:

This quirk allows the user to do most anything a rabbit can do. These include:

• a running speed higher than the average human's, but only when on all fours. If running bipedal, the user's speed is fairly average. (burst speed 30 km/h ... 2 posts; sustained speed 22 km/h)
• increased vertical leap (current 2 m high; running jump 4 m)
• improved low-light vision
• 180 degree vision
• able to hear sounds within 2/3 km
• 6x a normal human's sense of smell (essentially can smell hormones, sweat, etc and can somewhat distinguish friends and family by smell)
• powerful kick (essentially the equivalent of being kicked by a top-tier martial artist. Typically used to push foes away but, if used in a targeted strike, can leave a nasty welt)
• bite (if she can ever gather the courage) (with rabbit teeth, the user can cut through human skin. This can leave a shallow wound, no more than 2 cm deep, which can bleed and bruise in the surrounding area)
• claws (they exist, but are more of an irritant than a weapon, kind of the difference between getting scratched by a cat and scratching yourself)

WEAKNESSES/LIMITATIONS:

This quirk inhibits the user with many of the weaknesses of a rabbit, including:

• far-sightedness (can be somewhat corrected with lenses, but is impossible to fix fully, and the user actually retains a blind spot within a decimeter of their face)
• dichromatic vision (limited to blue/green hues: red isn't invisible, but color differentiation is particularly difficult)
• sensory overload (bright light, intense smell, and high-pitched/loud sounds can easily overwhelm user)
• inherent fear of predatory animals and quirks derived from predatory animals.

SUMMARY:
Hanako loves to make homestyle meals, made with fresh ingredients. She's no pro, but she knows how to make a killer beef stew by heart, as well as having mastered many loved recipes like pot pie, banana bread, ratatouille, and macaroni and cheese.

SUMMARY:
One of Hanako's favorite things to do as a child was garden. She spent many an hour learning how to properly tend to plants. She knows not to water flowers on their petals during the summer, how to take care of plants with broken stalks, and has a basic grasp on what plants are good to plant next to each other.
