Toshiro is a fairly tall man with a lean but cut physique, feeling that large muscles would do nothing but slow him down. The man has a head full of unruly blonde hair kept partly out of his intense green eyes with hairband and having spent a great deal of time outside, has a rather nice tan. Usually sporting a green trenchcoat ensemble with black accents, Toshiro tends to stick out like a sore thumb in most places.
PERSONALITY
LIKES MusicSpicy Food Drama Cats | DISLIKES Coconuts Silence Being Ignored Rain |
RUMOR/SECRET: | Rumor has it that Gauss was adopted and his real parents parents were villains killed by Pro-Heroes. |
Honest and loyal above all else, Toshiro is a kind-hearted man who will do anything for his loved ones. The type to follow through with his promises to the best of his ability, he is known to be reliable and to possess tremendous leadership qualities should the situation call for it. Due to this, he has a habit of trying to motivate his allies in an attempt to bring out their maximum potential.
After years of encouragement from his friends from UA, Toshiro has managed to become the life of the party wherever he goes, thanks to his lively sense of humor and knack for putting a funny spin on things that could be considered awkward to talk about. Extremely energetic and optimistic, and oftentimes dramatic--Toshiro acts as if he was an actor and the world was his stage.
All in all, he is a fun loving individual with a big heart.
On the other hand, for every strength, there happens to be a weakness. Prioritizing his training and responsibilities as a hero above all else, it could be said that he is just the tiniest bit socially inept--unsure of how to handle himself around people. Because he cares so much for his loved ones, he tends to be a bit smothering when it comes to relationships. And not one to back down from a fight if it means protecting someone, he often finds himself rushing into dangerous situations without a second thought.
But in the end one thing is certain--you can always count on Akisaka Toshiro.

Pain, desperation, sorrow, death--these are all things we as humans deal with--sometimes the ones that have made it through allow themselves to be changed--hardened even. They allow the world to distort their perception of life and it eats way at them until they lose their sense of wonder, their drive to be better people.Their drive to help those who have been flung into this world with nary a soul or even a bit of the strength required to weather the storm. But those that hear the heroes call step up without hesitation to prove to the downtrodden that hope still stands. This is a story of one of those souls. A soul full of fiery determination to protect those that cannot protect themselves--this is the story of Akisaka Toshiro. The Hero known as Gauss.
The first four years of the man's life are a mystery as the only thing that he knows or even remembers was wandering around the outskirts of Hachioji and being spotted by a hero just happening to be running his nightly rounds. The man had happened upon the boy, that couldn't have been any older than four, as he was in the middle of what appeared to be a stand off of sort. The child was shouting at a rather large dog that hard cornered a cat, arms straight in the air with a teddy bear flapping helplessly in the wind. The heroes timing couldn't have been more fortuitous as the boy charged toward the snarling dog--his little arms flailing behind him with his teddy trailing, screaming bloody murder the whole time as tears streamed from his eyes.
The hero, managing to chase off the dog before anything happened, turned his attention to the child. His face plastered in dirt with exception to the streaks where the tears had hit. Needless to say the child was brought to the proper authorities for safety while they attempted to find out what the exact situation was. Toshiro couldn't provide any information at all when it came to his parents or home--no address or names or anything. He would just become very quiet when asked or prodded about the subject of his parents--almost like he was taught to do so. All the little boy could really say when it came to his parents was,
"Mommy will be back. She said."
But she wouldn't. His mother would not return to her son--instead news would come back to Toshiro that his parents had been found dead and that he would end up being placed in Child Services. He wouldn't stay very long fortunately, as he was placed into a home almost immediately--as the man who found him that fateful night decided to adopt him into his family. Having seemingly been abandoned and left for dead, it would take Toshiro a long time to get used to and accept his new home. It wasn't that he wasn't thankful for his new family--it was just very hard to put his trust in anything for fear of being left. But it didn't take him long at all before he would grow to love his foster family who did their best to welcome them into their home.
Life would only continue to get more exciting for the boy after his adoption--as it was quickly discovered that Toshiro had a quirk of his own. This came as a surprise for his adoptive parents, as they originally believed Toshiro to be quirkless as he was already four and hadn't exhibited signs. However, that would soon be proven incorrect when eventually some prodding from his older brother would open the flood gates, so to speak.
They were all in the living room one afternoon when Tetsuya had been picking on him about not having a quirk of his own for the fifth time that day and in a fit of rage, Toshiro let out a shout and for some strange reason, the the fork that Tetsuya was holding flew right out of his hand and was sent sailing across the room. Toshiro, expecting to be admonished for this, was surprised when his mother was excitedly pinching his cheek and cooing at how proud she was and his father patted him on the back and told him that it was time to get serious.
His mother cast a look over at her husband that was less than enthusiastic. Shooing her son away for a moment, but not making sure that he actually left, she immediately made her annoyance known.
"He's a baby, Sojiro."
"A baby doesn't charge a fully grown snarling Tosa to save a cat, Hitomi. That boy is going to be a hero--no doubt about it. And it would be a disservice to him to not notice and cultivate that."
That night, his father had a long talk with him about his quirk and the life that was likely ahead of him. When asked what Toshiro wanted to do when he grew up, the child looked up at his father with a fire and determination that children tend to have when talking about this sort of thing-- "I want to be a hero like you...and save people. Like you saved me, daddy!" was his reply. Toshiro had a hand placed on top of his head
and his hair ruffled.
"Then I'll teach you what I know. I promise."
From that day on, Toshiro's time outside of school was devoted to training--and it was not pleasant in the least. Toshiro, while he had all the courage in the world matched with an iron will, his body was not used to the rigorous training that his father put him through. Though, the reprieve he would receive in the form of his mother's smiling encouragement and extreme care made the grueling training easier to bare. That's not to say that his father didn't love him or care--it was just he showed his love differently. He knew Toshiro's life had been difficult at the start and the trauma he likely endured would follow him in life, so he would have to become strong. And he knew that he could and would.
Toshiro was subjected to grueling workouts and agility training as well as training to better understand and utilize his quirk. And it was paying off in spades--the young man was growing stronger by the day. He was completely consumed with becoming a hero--he was running toward this goal so quickly it was almost as if he was running from something within himself. But if that was the case, it was being done subconsciously--he was too busy with hero work to notice much of anything else. As a matter of fact, even when Toshiro wasn't training or studying, he was daydreaming of being a hero worthy of his father's pride. Daydreaming of jumping to the rescue of someone in need as he watched his father do countless times. He owed it to the very world that had graciously given him a second chance at life. He had been plucked from the streets and out of the maw of despair to become a savior of the people--a hero worthy of how his father envisioned him to one day be.
Toshiro's hard work and determination would pay off as would be accepted into UA and end up doing tremendously. Certainly not the most popular student in the school, he WAS quickly recognized as one of the brightest and hardest working. It should also be noted that he did end up in trouble a few times as he would not tolerate bullies and constantly stick up for people being picked on even if it ended in a fight. Never been able to sit by and watch other people get pushed around, his empathy was what drove him to be a hero and the reason his father had seen the potential within him.
It also would be the reason several of the more tormented members of the class to flock to the future hero. Realizing that they all looked up to him, he would do his best to set a good example and look after them and do everything he could to motivate them. To make sure they always strove for their best so they could all one day become heroes and achieve their ultimate potential together. This was a very important and formative part of Toshiro's life--as he never had time to make friends or really spend time doing anything other than training or studying. And bit by bit, they helped him to realize that there was merit in taking time to do things that made him happy and to at least try to have fun--as it only increased his desire to protect those feelings.
Truthfully, to Toshiro, the sound of his friends cheering him on made him feel stronger than any extra time on the training field ever did.
Apart from the few instances of fighting bullies, Toshiro's school years were great. While he wasn't popular by any stretch of the imagination he managed to make some great friends and utilized every second he had to learn all he could from his teachers and even his fellow classmates. Time only seemed to speed up from here, as he would go on to get his provisional hero license and while he wanted to do his work study with his father--he refused, stating to him, "You'll have all the time in the world to study with me, son." And so he would study under a different hero and it proved to be very useful. As the hero he studied under would train him in marksmanship and how to be more accurate and deliberate with his moves. Toshiro would remain in contact with said hero even after his work study ended, as they had formed a close bond.
Eventually Toshiro would graduate from the academy and would end up working at his families Hero Agency. A lot of people would get complacent in this situation and rest on their laurels, but Toshiro was not built like that. Even if he was out of school and working--the training was never over. If he wanted to be the hero that his father knew he could be, he had to give it his all. And so he would--Toshiro would spend every second he could attempting to go further beyond his limits. He had heard it every single day for years and it had stuck with him without a doubt.
PLUS ULTRA.
Toshiro would do everything he could to live up to that motto, as he would spend the next years of his life fighting against the evils that presented themselves to the world. He would fight against villain after villain, oftentimes backing up and supporting other heroes in the area, proving just how invaluable of a part he could be to any group or team should the need for help arise. As he did best to protect those who couldn't protect themselves and doling out justice to the villains that dared to darken his cities doorstep, it wasn't surprising when someone in the darkness had taken notice. Someone who had been watching the hero from the very beginning, waiting for the perfect time to act. Toshiro would end up receiving mail one day--a black envelope dramatically sealed with wax. Was someone making fun of his love of theatrics? Upon opening the envelope he would immediately be floored by their contents.
That being all of the information there was, Toshiro was left with feelings of frustration and utter confusion. Who was this? Could this be his mother? How would she even know where he was? All of these questions and more floated through his head, making him dizzy. What was he to do now?
This is where our story picks up. Will our young hero take the time to unravel this mystery and perhaps find closure or will he bury the past and move forward the only way he knows how?

THE ARMORY
Hero Suit
Toshiro's hero suit is made up of three layers. The first layer is made of a rubber like material that is resistant to electricity. Over the top of that are strategically placed non magnetic metal plates over his vital organs. On top of those is his signature green trenchcoat.
Headband Communication Visor
Toshiro's family developed a visor that doubles as a communication device. Slipping onto the top of his head like a headband, there is an earpiece on the side that slips directly over his right ear. This is a direct line to his families hero agency HQ. On top of this there is a special visor attached to the right earpiece that fits over his right eye. Utilizing the energy from his magnetic field, Toshiro can track heat signatures.
Dual Desert Eagles
Toshiro was gifted these handguns by his former mentor who he trained under during his work study.
Automatic Reloading Holsters
Toshiro's family created these special holsters that rest on his hips and are specially made to run on the magnetic field that he produces. Utilizing magazines made of special magnetized material, Toshiro can simply place his guns in the holster and the ammo will be reloaded hands free by the magnetic field being manipulated.

QUIRK & SKILLS
POLARITY
TYPE: Emitter
RANK/LEVEL: B+
SUMMARY:
The electrons that circle Toshiro's atoms spin at such a rapid rate that his body naturally produces a magnetic field 20 feet in diameter. Upon utilization of this quirk, Toshiro has the ability to control the polarity of magnetized objects in his bodies magnetic field. This magnetic field can be active for up to six (6) posts before a cooldown period of one post must be taken.
Polarity Wave: Toshiro increases the strength of his magnetic field and adjusts the polarity depending on what he is attempting to do at the time. Depending on the situation, Toshiro can either pull or repel any magnetized objects or substances in his magnetic field.
Gauss Beam: Toshiro can take hold of a highly magnetized object in his hand and upon reversing the polarity of his field and increasing the strength of said field, he is able to turn his body into a Gauss Cannon--firing off projectiles at nigh impossible velocities--with the destructive capabilities reliant upon the the size of the projectile. This technique uses up an extra post.
WEAKNESSES/LIMITATIONS:
Toshiro must constantly wear a special support bracelet or he will constantly disrupt electrical equipment due to his magnetic field. Toshiro's magnetic field only works on magnetic material--so non-magnetized materials like copper, silver and gold will not be subjected to this quirks abilities. Because of the iron in his blood, after prolonged use of this quirk, (12 posts) it begins to pool towards Toshiro's arms--causing extreme dizziness and fatigue as well as terrible bruising. Further abuse of the quirk can most certainly lead to loss of consciousness. At fourteen (14) posts of usage, Toshiro will pass out and his magnetic field will dissipate.

Martial Arts
RANK/LEVEL: A-
SUMMARY:
Toshiro's foster family runs a hero agency--so needless to say when they found out their new adopted son had a quirk they wasted no time in getting to work. By the time Toshiro was eighteen he was proficient in Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Judo. Always working to push his boundaries and learn what he can, Toshiro is constantly taking bits and pieces of martial arts he finds effective and working them into his own repertoire. Relentless in his studies, and after over twenty years of hard work, Toshiro is most certainly a force to be reckoned with should the need for hand to hand combat arise.
Marksmanship
RANK/LEVEL: B+
SUMMARY:
Toshiro, during his academy years and beyond, has worked extensively on his aim when it comes to projectile weaponry--given that part of his quirk makes him a human gauss rifle. He knew that in order to draw out the most potential from his abilities without creating something that just decimated everything in it's path--he would need precision. And so he spent as much time as he could perfecting his aim, even going as far as pursuing a work study with a hero that utilized projectile based weaponry and even continuing training with him after the work study had ended.
Fighting Spirit
RANK/LEVEL: B
SUMMARY:
Toshiro has always had an indomitable will--never backing down or giving up when things got hard or painful. He has spent his entire life getting beaten to a pulp--both due to his foster families extreme training and the fact that he has a knack for stirring up drama. Due to his iron will and these constant beatings, he has managed to accrue an above average pain threshold and is quite a bit harder to take down than the average person.
