Kyou had been hearing some strange rumors. Even his own gang had reported a few happenings. Nothing terribly major, just curious sounds and stuff from areas that should be pretty clear. And so Kyou decided to check things out for himself. After all, why let his underlings do all the work? It just wouldn't do. Plus he needed to get out anyways. At the area of the strange sounds, he heard it as well. They were odd. When he finally located the area, he saw it. A boy practicing with his quirk, he assumed. Which was controlling a rainbow colored bear. Normally, most people would laugh the guy out of the yard. But a bear can do some major damage, even a normal one. You had to be careful. Watching for a while, the red demon masked young man stepped out of the shadows. He was in his combat gear. "Interesting quirk. Aside from practicing, got a reason to be here?" His voice was modulated to hide it. It wouldn't do if someone recognized it and used it as a trail to expose him for who he really was. A gang leader with the goal of getting rid of fake heroes. And root out corruptness in oversight committees and other such things regarding them. But he had some growing up to do. And already had some growing pains. Still, he approached the guy cautiously. A ranged fight typically goes well for him, but if he's focused on the bear, who knows how a fight will go. He needed to learn more about the lad first before making any real moves.

Riku still didn't have a lot of luck finding his "place" in Musutafu. The city was wonderful- lovely scenery, big buildings, your stereotypical Seattle but in Japan. And it was so crime overridden that Riku couldn't make any kind of difference in the city. People still had no idea who he was. He had spray-painted so many places it was getting old. Riku was getting frustrated. Not only had he not made any kind of dent, he couldn't find any kind of villain organizations or groups that would actually accept him. Figures. Nobody knew who he was, and that wasn't going to happen until he did something so big people would want him on their team. To do that, he had to get better. And there was only one way to get better: old-fashioned practice. He found somewhere private where nobody else was, then concentrated. The rainbow streaks in his hair drained of color, the vibrancy flowing away to form his rainbow bear. It stood silent, ready for command. Riku began to start training small. He began making the bear spar with him, but in ways where the bear wouldn't actually attack him, only simple movements that he had to block, dodge, etc. He wanted to save his energy for harder training or when he really needed it. After a while, he started to get hot, so he took off his hoodie. He was about to start going deeper in training when he heard someone speak. A person in a red demon mask stepped out from the shadows. "Interesting quirk. Aside from practicing, got a reason to be here?" Riku tried to make out the voice, but it was contorted beyond recognition. He didn't know who this was, but he knew whoever it was, they were bad. Like, villain bad. Riku's mouth quirked upwards the slightest bit. He put his finger on his chin and pretended to be deep in thought. "Ummmm no." Riku burst out in a quick laughter, then continued on. "No, just here to train myself and my quirk. Oh yeah, this is my bear." He gestured to the bear, and it stood on it's hind legs (-1) and lowered its upper body down as to bow. "Pleasure, really." Riku then looked at the attire of the guy. He was wearing battle gear, and he was on guard, ready for anything. "What, we gonna fight?"

Kyou watched the young man stretch out his response. The boy was shorter than he was, and really skinny. He almost half wondered if the guy's quirk fed off his muscle mass like Asahi's did. The guy was also quite odd, laughing a little and continuing, answering his question. Literally just training himself. The odd boy also introduced his bear, which stood and bowed. At least the guy did have some brain in there...recognizing his vest, skin tight clothes, and cargo pants and combat boots as something a fighter would wear. Kyou did have several hidden weapons on him too, but that didn't mean he was looking for a fight. "Not if you want to. My underlings mentioned some strange sounds and graffiti at areas that should be clear. But it's pretty clear you're a straggler. Don't cause trouble, and I'm content on ignoring you. Akuma's the name, by the way."
If his guess was right, then that graffiti wasn't a gang sign or anything. Plus, there was no consistent symbol or anything. Quite literally just artwork with a certain style. Hopefully the dude with the bear would likewise introduce himself. After all, it would only be rude to not to. Kyou tried to take more observations about the boy. Piercings, colorful clothing choices, and hair for that matter. Considering the bear was equally colorful, he half wondered if maybe that was how the bear was made...through the boy's colors. It would certainly fit in with the reason to wear such a standout outfit.

Riku listened as the guy spoke. His name, or what seemed to be an alias, was Akuma, and he had apparently spotted some of his art sprinkled around town. Riku smiled. "So you're a fan, eh? Which spray painting was your favorite?" Riku snickered a bit, then stood up straighter. "In all seriousness, though, my name's RGBB. And you could say I'm somewhat of a straggler, but it's more like new." He then shifted into a more comfortable standing position, his head craned to the side and his arms crossed. Of course, Riku didn't completely trust Akuma. He had just walked up to him and started talking, although Riku suspected this was an opportunity for something greater. Something better, where maybe he would hit bigger. Riku looked Akuma directly in the eyes. "So what's the real reason you're here?" He lifted his head up a bit higher, his face a questioning look. "I don't think you came here for small talk." Riku didn't want to rush things, but he couldn't help himself. Not only was his curiosity peaked, but he could maybe get to learn more about Akuma, and what was really going on in the moment.

Akuma took out a phone and scrolled through the various pieces till he found one that he actually did like. Flipping the phone over, he showed it to the other boy. Whose tone did change slightly as he introduced himself as RGBB. And clarified that he wasn't so much a straggler, but new. The guy then wanted the real reason he was here, since it was hard to believe that he would be here for small talk. Shrugging, Akuma responded. "I can do as I please. If you're new, then know that I am recruiting. But after some recent events, I do need to know at least a little bit of your story, or your ideology. Why did you choose this path, your opinion on heroes, etc." Learning combat ability was nice, but if you didn't align with him in some way, or was malleable enough to join him or anything like that, why should he let RGBB join him?
He could get behind survival and other things like that. But at the end of the day, he was against fake heroes. And outing corrupt heroes was something he liked doing. And making life difficult for them. Maybe even a little manipulation to get them to mess up and show everyone their true colors. But that was also a long term goal. In the short-term, he wanted a type of inner circle. He already had Oni and Vanish. But Chomper was quickly worming his way in, and Ronin now knew his true identity, and had experience with fake heroes. And that was a story he wanted to learn about. But first, he also needed to pay her for some valuable merchandise. And of course, find out more about this guy.

Interest began to develop inside Riku as he heard what Akuma had to say. He was recruiting for a gang, and they thought he was a good candidate for it. Riku head was telling him that he was all in, but then he thought deeper and told himself to slow down. First of all, they needed more information. Second of all, Riku needed more information. Que the monologue.
"Okay, well, I chose this path because I literally had no choice in the matter? Haha, it's complicated, trust me, you don't want to hear it just yet. Or maybe ever. But anyways, my opinions on heroes are that they're annoying. They get in my way. They get in everybody else's way. The world would be so much better without them." He paused for a minute. "And what does this gang that you're in actually do? What's it purpose? I'll need to know more before I even think about pouring out my life's history out to you."

The guy looked like he was about to jump in, but stopped himself. Well, that was good. The boy started to answering his questions. So, he had no choice in the matter, and didn't really want to disclose it. "Cliff notes version is fine, but if you want to wait until trust is formed, that's fine too." RGBB found heroes annoying more than anything. And thought that the world would be better without them. Well, that was a turnoff. He didn't let his eyes show much though. Akuma waited until RGBB was done with his own questions before saying anything. Though the questions were certainly valid. An interview goes both ways, after all.
"Long term, we'll root out corrupted heroes and destroy them. Either through their careers and public outcry or more directly. A check if you will. Heroes that stage fake arrests, commit crimes of their own, paying off people to hide unsavory acts that aren't necessarily illegal but highly unethical, blaming villains for damage that themselves caused and not the villain, things like that. Heroes are, unfortunately, important for the function of society. Otherwise, it may just collapse into chaos without them. But there are those with pure intentions, and those that are simply for the fame and fortune. It's this latter group that I despise. Even if going against them may also mean I may have to fight the former. We'll likely be going back and forth between outright villainy and vigilantism. Short term, we'll do what we can to hit fake heroes, while gaining followers, supporters, and me finding an actual inner circle.
Bluntly speaking, your belief that the world would be better off without heroes as a whole is a turnoff. Is there anything else you'd like to know?" His tone was even. Not criticizing or anything, just stating the facts.

Riku heard everything that Akuma said, and through it all, his face turned into a slightly contorted sneer. He liked the part about rooting up corrupted heroes, but Riku still stood strong in his belief about not needing them at all. And for Akuma to call it a turnover? Who the hell did he think he was? Riku hid the disgust from his face. If he were to accept the good he would also have to accept the bad. Plus, there were more pros than cons to this gang, and their overall goal sounded pretty solid. "You know, that's what police officers are for," he began, leaning against the wall beside him. "They're actually not that bad at defending Musutafu and keeping it in shape. Heroes are, in my opinion, a virus that needs to be eradicated, and you cannot change my mind. We will just have to agree to disagree. As for your gang, I'm all for your goal. I think that rooting up corrupted heroes is a great way to help fix society, even though I still think getting rid of them completely would be better. It's outrageous that they should be the one to cause the damage and blame it on others." He giggled a little bit, then looked up straight into Akuma's eyes, or where he thought they were through his mask. "Where do I sign up?"

Kyou frowned at the reaction to an alternate opinion. The guy sounded like he was new to the world and a petulant child. "You know the last time they got a major villain was fifty years ago, right? And someone barely classified as a villain was taken down by police twenty-five years ago. They're not trained to handle major threats, or those classified as villains. The heroes here in Musutafu, and everywhere, do the heavy lifting, the police support them. I don't mind agreeing to disagree, but it shows you don't do your research before you talk out of your butt and give actual evidence. At least on this particular issue. Gotta say man, it's a rough first impression of you.
Come by in two weeks. I should be able to get an assignment for you...a test. At this same spot. You'll likely be working with a team, so be prepared for that. Oh, and bring a mask. We all do. If you need something temporary, feel free to use a store bought one." Turning around, he started to leave. Anymore, the police write parking tickets, support the heroes' investigations, keep people away from conflict zones, and similar. Rarely do they handle petty criminals, let alone anything more. They even have the equipment support heroes in a pitched fight. But in the face of a powerful quirk...even a tank is but a bug to be squashed.

Riku couldn't help but feel a bit shocked, but he slightly also expected what had been said. He didn't make the cut, kind of. Akuma wanted him to come back in two weeks, that was a start. Riku was glad about that, although he couldn't help but feel dissapointed. He had given off a bad first impression- and he agreed that he didn't do his research before saying whatever was on his mind. He was new to the city, just recently moving here from America, so he really didn't know a lot about the city. He had just come here for a variety of reasons, to embrace his mother's culture, to find some new friends, and to play in the huge playground of Musutafu. Seems that Riku made a big mistake: not doing his research. He decided that for the next two weeks, he was going to get to know the city. Take walks, get to know the architecture. environment, society, people, and motives. He was going to know the city like the back of his hand after two weeks. His mouth tilted up a little. "Didn't I say I was new here?" he began, lifting his hands. "Alright then. See you in two weeks." Lowering his hands and putting them in his pockets, his rainbow bear glowed, then dematerialized, flowing back into Riku's hair. With that, he began to walk into the opposite direction, on his journey to get to know the city. Maybe he'd find a good guide along the way.
