RUMOR/SECRET: | On occasion, Gravis will spend days by himself staring at books - completely losing himself to studies. |
Gravis was a child prodigy and this shows in the way that he approaches everything. He has always excelled in everything that he does, that means on a first time picking up most skills he has found he has had little to no problem. This also has resulted in a hyper-inflated ego and a quick temper but more importantly it lead him away from Russia in search of greater discoveries.
Gravis is quiet, calm, collected. The type of guy that seems almost intimidating the first time you meet him because the silent aura he lets off seems to suck all the life from the room. His anger, when it comes to the surface, is sharp and quiet. He doesn't yell, he speaks with a tone and a line of words meant to cut deeper than any knife.
As a scientist, he is drawn to discovery and is incredibly curious. He will often follow leads past where others let go, he prefers isolation, and finds that animals impede his study. He doesn't dislike them - but simply prefers to not keep them himself.

Born in some city he refuses to disclose to parents of underwhelming origin, Gravis Skay came to be. His above average wit had many believing he'd find his way into support work - but in the long run his quirk and personality drove him to hero work.
His family was frustrated but he continued to accomplish whatever he could for the most part, and quickly showed incredible prowess. The Russian government realized very quickly that what they had was an opportunity for a powerful social presence - something to match the appeal of other nations as Slow Mo became more and more prevalent in the Russian social eye.
However, his insatiable curiosity got the young hero to leave his homeland and head to Japan. He was to become a teacher at the prestigious U.A. Academy and teach young heroes to accomplish great things - a mentor to bring new minds to the future. There was no doubt in his heart he was meant to help them accomplish great things - it was only just a matter of time before someone became influenced by his great mind.

THE ARMORY
Hero Suit: The Hero Suit for Slow-Mo is shown above, but appears like a cybernetic suit of his own invention run through government technicians to ensure it meets legal requirements. It offers some extra protection from physical blows, allowing him to not be utterly destroyed by superpowered physical fighters but still just being enough to reduce not nullify any level of force. This is due to it being of a substance of his own creation, a flexible material with the strength and durability of steel, but being much thinner so attacks about 4x a boxer's strength could still break his bones from within the armor and at 2x a boxer's strength it would still leave bruises through the armor. This armor set also includes a built-in...
Laser: He has a mining laser attached to his suit, the strength it has can pierce through stone but is too difficult to use for combat. This allows for extraction and ease of cutting rock and metals - but wouldn't be much help in a fight. This has failsafes to deny its usage on humans.

QUIRK & SKILLS
Gravity Prison
TYPE: Emitter
RANK/LEVEL: B
SUMMARY:
Gravis's quirk is a simple quirk to understand, but potent in enemy capture.
The Gravity Prison emanates in a sphere on all ends around Gravis for a 10m radius. Gravis is immune to the effects of his own quirk for the most part but prolonged use can have ill effects as explained below. This emits from a blue crystal that normally is embedded into the palm of his hand, when using the quirk this hover around his hand and glows brightly.
The strong, downward force of the field can take light projectiles and loose objects and pull them to the ground. This will take place at the end of his post (taking a full 6 seconds to begin) so you do have a chance to react to it. After entering the field, a fighter will feel sluggish as if their body is being dragged down, this results in their bodies being slower and heavier. After two turns consecutively in the field, you begin to experience extreme pain and dizziness, at this point, many begin to feel weak. After three posts, the gravity prison will have exerted its full pressure on you, and in most cases this will result in someone being incapable of moving. Those with especially powerful wills or physical strength can overcome this and minor limb movements are still possible. (This is between writers, I'm sure we can work something out for the most fun - I'm not trying to just punish people with a stupid, unfun quirk concept. It's got quite a bit of counterplay mentioned in the next section.)
WEAKNESSES/LIMITATIONS:
The first, and most immediate weakness to Gravity Prison is its range. While he is capable of moving while it is active, it requires a mostly close range, with no inherent aggressive benefits other than slowing down incoming foes. If you leave the field, the effects immediately wear off even if you step out for only a second, meaning the easiest counterplay is simply to walk away during its activity. This is why its best use is to create a barrier for passage, where someone would have to run through it or to use it on a being who is being constrained in movement already, against anyone semi-mobile this will be nearly worthless.
The next thing is activity, he can maintain the effects of the gravity field for a total of 8 posts. After that duration, he will experience extreme muscular pain and will become incapable of moving for two turns. He is entirely vulnerable during that time and is incapable of using his quirk further. After 4 posts, he begins to feel sore and physically weaker.
If his crystal is removed from his hand, or the gravity field, then the field will dissipate. If released from its hold, as it is a part of him, it will return to him slowly over a course of 2 posts. Though, it can be held indefinitely, shutting his quirk down entirely.

Technical Prowess
RANK/LEVEL: B+
SUMMARY:
This is his biggest thing, he isn't too extravagant. He is quick to understand technology and invention. This is the point of this skill, building plot devices.
Basic Self-Defense
RANK/LEVEL: B-
SUMMARY:
Gravis is capable of covering basic self-defense and while he can hold his own against some other heroes, he's not anything special in combat. He just makes quick battlefield judgements.
Battle Analysis
RANK/LEVEL: B
SUMMARY:
Gravis can quickly assess a situation, come to an understanding of what he is doing, and track several details at once which gives him a tactical advantage over most other fighters.
