PERSONALITY
LIKES SwordsArmor Rice Drawing | DISLIKES DishonestyDisloyalty Centipedes Laziness |
RUMOR/SECRET: | He's a surprisingly great artist but has no interest in actually drawing anything but armor schematics and weapons |
Kamido grew up in what most would call the boonies of Japan. He feels most comfortable in small towns and villages but his father saw great potential in his quirk, kicked him out of the shop, and sent him to U.A so Kamido could have a better life then some traditional swordsmith in the country side.
This means Kamido is extremely out of his element in the big city, tons of new faces and people, cars, electronics, guns, these are all things he has either never seen or rarely seen back home. Its quite overwhelming to him. So he tends to sit in the back of the class, giving many the impression he's shy and/or cowardly, when in truth he's kind and outgoing. He's also very much into honor and respect, living by a golden rule "treat others how you wish to be treated" because of this he never shows disrespect or is rude to anyone unless they earn it.
Also he's got a irrational fear of centipedes ever since he woke up one day with one crawling on him, when he was 4.

BACKGROUND HISTORY
PLACE OF BIRTH/HOMETOWN: | Shirakawa, Gifu Prefecture |
PARENTS: | Hama Tsune (Father) |
SIBLINGS: | none |

Kamido grew up in a rural village in the Gifu prefecture called Shirakawa, where his father ran a traditional swordsmith shop. Kamido's mother passed when he was only 2 so he never got a chance to know her but his father stepped up and did his best to raise Kamido and run his swordsmith shop.
Kamido never really had an interest in swordsmithing at first until his father took him to the traditional swordsmith museum in Nagoya, which was on the other side of the Gifu prefecture. While this trip was expensive for his father, but it was worth it. As Kamido watched the the swordsmiths in action and the many beautiful blades they had on display Kamido was hooked into the idea of becoming a master bladesmith, which expanded into armor smithing as he got older. Due to him not really taking any interest in anything else he never discovered his quirk until he was 10, while it may of manifested in one way or another while he was younger he was to focused on other things to care.
When he was 10 Kamido saw a little girl getting picked on by a few older boys wanting to help her he tried to chase them off. This only backfired as one of boys had a quirk that allowed him to psychically throw Kamido launching him into a nearby metal fence. The older boy then held Kamido against the fence while he punched him. Kamido then focused on trying to defend himself this caused his quirk to activate. The metal fence suddenly warped around Kamido making a suit of armor out of the metal, when the older boy broke his hand punching his now helmet covered face he ran away crying.
The little girl tried to thank Kamido but he was to freaked out by what happened and he ran away back home. He told his father what happened and with a saddened smile his father sat him down and told him what was going on. His father then explained quirks and that most people on the planet had them, each one is as unique as the user.
After his father explained everything he then told Kamido he was banned from working in the forge until he learned to control his powers. As Kamido trained he soon began to understand his quirk and what it could do. Kamido could touch any material and form it into armor and weapons, the process took time, the more of his body he covered with the armor the more material he needed and the longer it took to form. Just covering his head or one arm would only take a few seconds, using only a small amount of material but forming it over his whole body takes about 1 minute. Crafting weapons was faster as it didn't require change or bending the material to fit his body and most man made objects were already straight in shape meaning he could easily turn a piece of concrete or metal into a club or blade. However there were complications as the most common materials that could make great armor out of were heavy and made him slow. Also the armor wasn't permanent, after about 5 minutes it was fall to pieces, meaning he would have to make another set.
This didn't stop him from training day in and day out by having his dad chuck baseballs at him, he then had to quickly forge armor around his arm to block it, while the training didn't improve his crafting speed it did make him better at dodging attacks. Maybe the crafting speed would get better as he got older instead of just forcing it.
With more testing he soon discovered his could also make non rigid objects into armor and weapons but they didn't give great protection to physical attacks. He found this out when he accidently tripped and his hand landed in the forge, he should of burned his hand up but instead the fire surrounded his arm and became armor. While flame armor sounds cool it really only made him immune to being burned by fire attacks, it didn't stop physical objects from hitting him, he found this out the hard way when his dad clocked him with a baseball in the face while he had flame armor on. Non rigid armors could be made far quicker then rigid armors, so Kamido had to be smart with what armor he used and when in order to best utilize his quirk.
After completing his training and getting a decent handle on his quirk he asked his father if he could return to smithing. Only for his father to kick him out of the house with a ticket to Musutafu, telling him "Your quirk has so much more potential, you could easily become one of the best heroes in Japan. Swordsmithing is a dying job and what kind of father would I be if I didn't force my son to achieve greatness when the opportunity arouse." So Kamido left to join U.A hoping to make his father proud.
He passed the entrance exam by the skin of teeth while his concrete armor made it difficult for the robot enemies to hurt him it made him far to slow to destroy them before some other student would swoop in and defeat it. He only passed cause he used his armor to defend students who were ambushed before they were hurt.

THE ARMORY
Kamido's hero suit looks just like any usual blacksmiths attire. Apron tool belt with easily assessable weapons like hammers, leather arm guards, and goggles.
He also carries with him a bag full of pipes, metal stock, and baseball bats. As well as a butane torch.

QUIRK & SKILLS
Blacksmith
TYPE: Emitter
RANK/LEVEL: D+
SUMMARY:
Kamido can turn any material rigid or non-rigid into armor and weapons. The bigger the weapon or the more of his body he covers in armor, the more material he needs. Weapons are very easy to make due to not needing to bend or shape the material (1 post), (2 posts for larger weapons). Full set of metal armor would need about 20 pounds of metal or concrete for example and would take time to "forge" (3 posts). Covering just one arm or his head requires about 3 pounds and is faster to "forge" (1 post). Body armor requires 6 pounds (2 posts). Non-rigid armors are far faster to make but would need a continues source to make (1 post) but weapons can not be made of non-rigid material. Non-rigid armor examples, fire armor, water armor, wind armor. While non-rigid armors are fast to make they don't give any physical protection instead giving utility. Like fire armor grants immunity to fire and if anyone tried to attack with their bare fist they would be hurt just as much as Kamido. Water armor allows him to swim faster and breath underwater. Wind armor allows him to fly.
WEAKNESSES/LIMITATIONS:
Rigid armors require alot time to make and are heavy
Non-rigid armor grants no physical defense and can not be made into weapons
Armors fall apart or disappear after (10 posts)
Armors need material to be made so parks and wooded areas would be the worst place for Kamido as wood and dirt armor isnt very good.
