FC NAME (SERIES): | kar98k (girls' frontline) |
Elke stands 3'7"/110cm tall. Without her quirk, she is completely flat and appears almost emaciated with how thin she is, but if her quirk is even 10-20% full, she plumps up, gaining a body that appears much much older and appears completely smooth. She always wears a german officer hat that barely fits her head, and a black uniform coat tied by a few clasps draped over whatever outfit she is currently wearing. This coat has a fur collar, and is sized for a woman much taller than her making it act more like a cloak at times. Her eyes are scarlet, her face appears young an serene, and her long silver hair reaches down to her knees but always appears brushed despite blowing around seemingly at random as if a gust of wind blew by.
Her normal clothing is always fitted for a girl one size larger than her, fitting loosely over her body. The backs of all of her shirts have been cut out, allowing the valves on her back to blow air without tearing her shirt apart. When it comes to the sleeves, she prefers long sleeves but hates covering her valves; this means she always wears shoulder-less long sleeve shirts, covering just her forearm but leaving her upper arm able to 'breathe' out. Pants are unheard of; she always wears skirts or short dresses with leggings that end at her upper thigh if any at all. Her valves/thrusters on her body appear like creases of skin that close over itself, creating a perfect seal; when in use these folds open, revealing a second fold beneath them which controls the air flow.

PERSONALITY
LIKES Strong GalesCoffee German Anything Chocolate Small Objects Large Objects Jackets/Shoulders Large Hats Fresh Air | DISLIKES Stale AirUnfiltered Water French Anything Caramel Being Called Small Covering Her Quirk Fitted Clothing Running Normally Swimming |
RUMOR/SECRET: | Word around the block is that her parents transferred her to Japan because they couldn't handle her. |
Elke is head strong, especially so due to her height. When introducing herself to new people she always makes herself known and speaks loudly, and bluntly. Many have likened her to a small dog, the one that barks the loudest but has the smallest bite; be warned, as this also means she is the most likely to bite. She is fierce, and will lash out, albeit lightly, when scorned. Those that make her feel exceptionally short are those who get barked at the most, but just being taller than her doesn't cause this reaction. Most of the time, she views others around her as giants, not that she herself is small. Her most hated situation is wearing fitted clothing that covers her quirk, and this is for two reasons. One, if it is fitted to her, then it makes it small clothing for a small girl, and her self conscious side kicks in; clothing should fit her loosely! Two, if it covers her quirk she feels like she is suffocating, and is forced to either breathe outward, or to blow air from her hands/feet which makes it difficult to perform daily tasks.
When it comes to personal relationships, she is always willing to make friends, but outwardly doesn't appear so. She's callous, and angry, twenty-four-seven, but always seeks the attention of those around her, and prefers those that she finds kinship in. Elke will never say she likes someone, and will always refuse any romantic emotions for others, except for those she properly feels emotions for; to those she will adamantly deny it, so far as to pre-emptively deny them if even a hint of the topic shows up.
Elke's food choices are stereotypically German. She prefers coffee over tea but doesn't hate the drink, she absolutely abhors unfiltered water and refuses to drink any form of 'hard water,' and despite liking most sugary foods, she is unable to stand caramel in any form; her disdain for caramel products is the one thing about her that isn't a German stereotype. Being German, she loves all german based cuisine, but from her family's own culture has obtained an unorthodoxically large disdain for anything French; to the point where if she sees vertical stripes of Blue, White, then Red, she often refuses to associate with the product; and if she does associate with it she never has anything good to say about it. This stretches even to foods that have names that are root words from french; like the disgusting Baguette.

BACKGROUND HISTORY
PLACE OF BIRTH/HOMETOWN: | Berlin, Germany |
PARENTS: | Father: Gerhard Klein Mother: Ingrid Klein |
SIBLINGS: | N/A |
SIGNIFICANT OTHER: | N/A |
OTHER: | N/A |
Elke was born to Gerhard and Ingrid Klein in the capital of Germany, Berlin. She was always small, even as a newborn being roughly half the size that she should have been; her parents expected the worst, their first child to die before she even had her first birthday. Despite her size, she was as healthy as any other child, but her size still bothered her normal sized parents. By the time she was 5, she was still being dwarfed by everyone else her age, despite appearing like a normal child. Many people thought this was her quirk, and that it manifested at such an early age; this was not the case. When she turned eight years old her skin developed these strange flaps that blew cool air out from them periodically, and when investigated, was discovered that the girl stopped breathing out from her mouth. When asked, Elke replied with her own question: "Was that strange?" Looking further into her quirk she discovered her ability to store air, and then release it as large waves of wind; much to the disdain of her parents. Gerhard worked a desk job that required excessive paperwork and her mother, Ingrid, was an avid painter. Many paintings and sorted papers were destroyed by Elke's disregard of her quirk, creating large gusts of wind within the home. They needed to find an outlet for this small child, and Gerhard did just that.
Receiving time off from work to deal with the energetic child, Gerhard used his engineering knowledge to produce a very large fort in their back yard, and then proceeded to lay a large amount of net everywhere; like what one would expect a circus to have for trapeze artists. Elke adored it. Gerhard's skill in building the perfect outdoor jungle gym only took him three weeks to complete, which earned himself and his wife, several more years of a seemingly 'normal' life. For the next several years, Elke would repeatedly rush home toabuse use her quirk in their backyard, launching herself as high as she can go, even launching herself each and every other direction. By the time she was 11 years old, she realized just what kind of gift she had, rapidly shifting from playing with her ability to fly around to rapidly training the amount of time she can stay airborne. "Daddy, I want to be a hero! The best of the best!" Her father was overjoyed; his own aspirations early in life were to be a hero as well but his quirk was practically useless to do so. Being the best father he could, he vowed to push forward and have his daughter do what he couldn't have achieved.
Elke's father began formulating several training plans for the small wind-demon to perform each day when she had finished her school work. This honed her abilities even further and by the time she was 16 years old, she managed to pass the extensive test that Yūei Kōkō gave to those entering the school, and was sent across the entire world to attend the best university for heroes on the planet. No matter what would happen, Gerhard made sure to fund her travels in Japan as well as her future as a hero. Gerhard knew she would have eventually attended the prestigious academy, and beforehand he began personally learning Japanese from a coworker alongside his wife and teaching the language to his daughter at the same time. His reasoning for this was simple; if she was to live and school in Japan, she would need to speak Japanese as fluently as possible. Now Elke was on her warpath to protecting others, but only time could tell if someone as small as her could aspire to be something as large as what she wanted to be; and she had quite a lot of work ahead of her to prove herself, being both a foreigner, and a complete newcomer to the hero society.

THE ARMORY
Click-heel boots: These boots have their soles cut cleanly in half, and are clasped internally. When performing the very best impersonation of a German aristocrat's formal greeting, the soles unlock, letting them fold outward which allows Elke to use the quirk on her feet. To re-lock them requires manual action.
QUIRK & SKILLS
Air Compression
TYPE: Mutation
RANK/LEVEL: C
SUMMARY:
The quirk ‘Air Compression’ allows the user to store breathed air inside their body, compressing it into a liquid form and to later, expel this air to generate large gusts of wind to either attack, defend, or allow limited flight. Inside the users body is a thin air sack that extends throughout their body, inflating as they store more and more air, changing the bearer’s physical appearance as they do so. The bearer of this quirk has a total of 14 locations where they can expel air stored this way. To add more air to her quirk, Elke must intake the air through her lungs; she does not need to breathe out this way, but the air must be withdrawn normally and after stored, can not be expelled normally unless it is from the 14 marked locations on her body.
The locations that Elke is able to expel compressed air on her body are fitted symmetrically across her body. On her hands and feet are a total of 6 of these locations; one on the centre of her hands, one on the bottom of her heel, and another on the ball of her feet. Two more are located on her back, running along her shoulder blades, with two more on her from located just below her collar bone. The spots on her chest are aimed diagonally downward, while the one on her shoulder blades are aimed directly backward, with the two on her back having the ability to shift up, or down to change which direction they release air. Smaller output locations are also located on the side of her thighs and upper arms. With each of these locations, it can be deduced that these spots are more befitting of ‘Thrusters’ and give her superior control while airborne.
When using these thrusters as weapons in combat, she can fire large pinpointed bursts of compressed wind out of her hands or larger uncontrolled bursts of air out of her feet; these attacks follow the same properties of real wind, rapidly decreasing in speed the further away it gets from the centre of the burst, increasing in range the longer it is held. Directly from her hands, she can produce winds going as fast as 130 Mph (209.5 Kph), which allows her to create enough force at point blank to shatter wood. When using her hands these forces can extend up to 3 feet away from her, with the distances doubling if she uses both thrusters on her feet. After the maximum distance, the wind drastically drops in speed, losing a quarter of it’s speed at the second increment, half speed at the third increment, all the way to being a quarter of its speed at the final stage. The formula is as below.
Windspeed Multiplier: 1x/.75x/.5x/.25x
Windspeed Distance: 3ft./6ft./12ft./24ft. or 6ft./12ft./24ft./48ft.
At the first multiplier, the force of her winds can tear apart mobile homes or expose house rafters. By the second multiplier, it has degraded to having the speed to displace mobile homes or to bust larger branches. Once it has reached the third multiplier, it can lift lawn chairs or deal minor shed damage and by the fourth increment, it is no stronger than normal heavy wind, lifting up litter or snapping twigs. While these speeds are incredible, most of its destructive force is to objects that can’t move. Objects that can move, are easily lifted and pushed away within the first increment and are often times carried further by the second increment before landing at the third increment as it barely has enough wind-power to lift a normal sized human by the time it reached 65 miles per hour.
She is able to partially open these valves across her body to control the flow of air, allowing her to hover for extended periods of time. While her continuous flight time is limited while hovering this increases exponentially as with controlled breathing she can refuel herself almost as fast as she expends it, increasing her air time by five times. Currently, however, this is a feature she has yet to unlock of her quirk, knowing it exists purely by her parents' ability to do so but lacking the expertise to pull it off.
Additionally, her quirk offers the added benefit of self-pressurization. This means that she can handle extreme changes in altitude as the cells in her body keep themselves pressurized, protecting her to be unfazed by high altitudes or excessive changes in depth.
WEAKNESSES/LIMITATIONS:
While she is able to fly and create excessive wind pressure, she is still human and subject to most laws of physics. With her quirks ability to compress air to such a large degree that it transfers from gas to liquid, she still needs to breathe that amount of air to fill her specialized organs, and even then her quirk’s organ can only hold so much air. Any air stored must still be pulled through her mouth, meaning that the more air she uses from her storage, the longer she has to spend refilling. Most of the time this can be done while going about her day to day activities, taking several minutes to go from empty to full, but this hinders her abilities in combat severely; once dry she might as well be quirkless. Another weakness in the quirk is that when the quirk is used, the liquid boils rapidly, becoming excessively cold, and nearly instantly freezing materials they touch, but only if the change in enmasse. This means the air is always cool and never excessively hot, but this also means that if she is turned upside down for longer than a few seconds, instead of firing out gusts of wind, it begins spraying this heavily compressed air which immediately starts to freeze things they come into contact with, including the skin, and whatever valve the air came from. This causes instant frostbite, and renders that valve inoperable.
Other severe weaknesses is that her quirk shows many signs of weak-points. Where the air bursts from, is where her body is also weakest; any blunt force of slashing trauma to the areas around the valves themselves renders that organ completely worthless until healed. Other issues also involve her quirk not protecting herself from the same external forces that she outputs on those around her when her quirk is used. When firing quick bursts of wind, she needs to output a similar force in the opposite direction to prevent herself from losing balance, both in the air and away, and the closer she is to the affected target, the more she is launched backward.
Due to her inability to be affected by altitude changes or external pressure differences, others would think she could dive as deep as possible; this is not the case. Excessive depths will still crush her just like it would crush other humans; she is only immune to the effects of decompression sickness.
At most she can use up to two uses per post at this time. With her current ‘mastery’ with her quirk or lack there of, she can only use one set of thrusters, plus a single thruster at a time. This means she can have her back thrusters active, and either her left or right thigh, but not one back thruster, her left thigh, and right hand. Despite her quirk being rather powerful, she has little control of it; she has yet to figure out how to ‘hover’ yet and can only launch herself using large bursts of wind.
Currently, she has up to 10 uses of her quirk in total. Each full power blast takes up one use (with lesser power bursts taking up that much of a use) and sustained flight consumes one use as well. Using her enhanced burst from her feet cost two boosts, but she can not be actively flying to use this.

Aerial Superiority
RANK/LEVEL: D
SUMMARY:
With how often Elke has accidentally launched herself into the air and fallen, she is well on her way to mastering movement while airborne. This can be considered a fighting style as well as she has practiced utilizing a floaty form of combat where there is no anchoring to the ground to keep their balance, rather instead she has practiced being able to throw a kick or a punch while flying or falling without throwing herself off balance. Elke's skill in the air also translates toward landing softly on the ground, whether it is through delayed shock, landing on her feet like a cat to landing with a roll into an easy stop to avoid extensive injury. Each of these small abilities translates to her being a much better aerial combatant than most would realize.
