The door to Toriyama-Sensei's office may as well have been a wrought iron gate guarding an ancient castle for how qualified Chiura felt to be standing before it. She stared up at the simple, templated paneling, eyes focusing upon the little brass name plate that bore the teacher's name. Suddenly, the girl felt the most distinct urge to simply retreat back to her home and never be seen again. But no! There would be no such retreat. Sure, she was about to meet one of the adults who would largely determine her future here at U.A. And sure, this particular teacher was a pro hero of some great renown. And sure, Chiura had been specifically called to her office to discuss 'likely deficiencies in her education up to this point in time'. But other than all of those things, there was no reason at all to be panicked about this impending meeting! ...Right? Chiura grimaced. "Well, here goes nothing, she said quietly to herself. She knew going into this that every day at U.A. would be specifically designed to test her mettle. It was in her best interest to simply view this preliminary encounter as the first of many challenges to come. The girl raised a red-scaled fist before rapping upon the office door in three quick, quiet beats. Assuming she got some sort of affirmation to enter, she would do so -- presenting herself before the teacher. "Good afternoon, Toriyama-Sensei!" she said, bowing respectfully with her arms clasped firmly at her side. Even prostrated respectfully before the teacher, she struggled to shrink herself down to what would be considered a 'respectful' height for a normal human; ah, well. "I -- I received your message. You wished to speak with me?Tsumiki Toriyama

He didn’t move with any quick agility but his office wasn’t especially large, within half-a-dozen steps, his bare feet soundlessly crossing polished timber floorboards, he had reached the door, pulled it back and held it open.[break][break] ”Yutsuko-san. Please, come in and take a seat.” His baritone words were spoken courteously but his tone was flat, no different to if he had been remarking on the weather. And though Chiura Yutsuko bowed, every bit as courteous as himself, his expression didn’t soften from the cold and hard lines that seemed to often compose of his standard look, neither tense nor relaxed.[break][break] He waited. Chiura possessed a unique physiology. She was serpentine, from the waist down she was all snake tail, long of length, had he immediately made to shut the door as she moved further into the room he would have caught its wooden edge against her figure. However, she wasn’t physically the oddest student who he had taught in the years since accepting his role at the academy, and neither would she be the oddest looking hero should she successfully graduate in a few years time.[break][break] Still, hers was not an enviable journey. Too many people saw fangs, scales and oppressive forms and impulsively cried “evil.”[break][break] Waiting until she had sat herself before his desk, Tsumiki then closed the door and moved to sit across from her.[break][break] ”I appreciate your punctuality, I imagine that, only having recently arrived from Hokkaido, you’re still adjusting to this city and this school.” Tsumiki sat as one might have expected, with strict posture, his body facing Chiura directly, his silver hues meeting the blues of her gaze impassively. ”So, I won’t keep you in here with me for long. I have a few inquires that need to be better addressed, as Sato-san was not as clear in answering them when asked.”

It was the closest that Chiura had ever been to a pro hero by a fair margin. She swallowed her fear, holding her bow for a beat longer than was strictly necessary before acquiescing to Gabriel's request and sliding over towards the chair that sat opposite his spartan desk. It took her a few moments to get situated; she picked up the chair and stashed it primly into a little corner before coiling herself up where it had once sat, perching her humanoid form atop her contorted mass of serpentine muscle. Were it not for her school uniform and the placid, if a little frightened, look upon her face, she could have passed for a legitimate mythological beast lounging lazily in its lair. "Oh! Yes, it has been something else," she confirmed with a sheepish smile. "This city is so much bigger and more involved than what I'm used to. My dad and I lived in a really sleepy prefecture; the sort of place where heroes weren't even all that necessary. Coming here has been a huge change." It was true, even if Chiura hadn't given it a great deal of thought. U.A. was, of course, intimidating in and of itself; but the city that it occupied, the metaphorical crown of Japanese hero life and culture within which U.A. was set like one of the most prized gems, was a beast to behold and comprehend in its own right. Gabriel's tone had a courteous expeditiousness about it; Chiura could appreciate that. He was not being rude, so much as he was eager to get to the point and avoid wasting either involved party's time. It reminded her, in a way, of the more plain-spoken mannerisms that tended to accompany her old friends and family from Hokkaido. "I'm happy to answer whatever you ask, Toriyama-Sensei! I hope I can be of some assistance. I realize my resume is a little lacking in terms of particular acts of fledgeling heroism..."In the back of her mind, Chiura noted that it had been Gabriel who had sent Sato-san to her. Or at least, he had taken advantage of their meeting in an attempt to better ascertain something about Chiura herself. Tsumiki Toriyama
