When Subject_0X was originally created, he was born using the genetic make-up of what was supposed to be the most aesthetically pleasing physical traits. Thick, jet black hair with striking blue eyes. A hard jawline, a body type that could be well-sculpted through hard training to be visually appealing, and a bone structure which would be sturdy and well-built to provide the required frame for the Subject to fill out.
Subject_0X came out thin, wiry, and his eyes are a bright red. His skin is pale and his bone structure does not allow for the perverse muscles to grow perfectly. His creators wanted a God, and ended up with the forgotten step child. But, he was quick and had all of the other traits that the scientists wanted. To conceal their mistakes, they provided Subject_0X with a mask and clothing that would cover him from head to toe and required that he never take the clothes off. The outfit would become a part of him, and so it did.

RUMOR/SECRET: | Something is in the shadows, brewing a kettle of trouble. |
Subject_0X has always displayed an affection for death, the death of anything which is alive. Even in early trials with other Subjects, 0X has stood out to us as something... different. 0X strove to kill the other Subjects in trials where we put it into shared containment areas, causing the loss of many other experiments and damage to many more. It does not have any regard for the well-being of others in any manner, except if it will lead to the death of the other entity. Subject_0X does not play well with others and it is recommended to keep other Subjects separate from it.

Today, we started up a new project based on the request of a few donors and the Director. We’ve put together a handful of some of my more trusted partners and the Director has brought on his own team of three other Doctors from a different Lab. While they do make me uneasy, Matthew made me uneasy when I first met him and he turned out to be fine, so I’ll just wait and see how things turn out with them.
The Director instructed me to keep a daily log of the events in the Lab and to maintain contact with him and our Donors using some new application on the server. They’ll be able to monitor us using these documents, and the camera system they’ve installed. I just hope nothing goes wrong with this. As bad of an omen as it is for me to type that, I want it to be known. What we are about to embark on could change the future of humanity. Human testing is banned for a reason and I am not saying that our experiments have ever been justified, but if we want to step into the next age, I am a firm believer that we must sacrifice some in order for the rest of us to make it there. Humanity in recent centuries has stagnated. With the emergence of quirks and strange super powers, we have taken one small step forward. Now it’s time to take another.
May God be with us.

We’ve finished setting up the rest of the computer systems and the test tubes have all been activated. We were able to run small tests on our equipment and everything is working properly. We did have a malfunction with Tube 04, but it was just a small spike in oxygen from the tank feeding it. We fixed it and have made a note in the AI System to monitor the Tube in the future.
After lunch, we decided to begin the Creation phase. We brought in donor sperm and eggs and were able to begin the fertilization process. We can’t really do a whole lot in this stage so we elected to setup a manual injection program rather than sit around. The petri dishes with the eggs have been placed under the systems and we uploaded the various genetic outlines to the different injectors. They’ve been set to automatically modify the DNA codes of the eggs once they begin to develop. For this attempt, we have eight subjects lined up and will be preparing eight more tomorrow.
By the end of the week, we expect to have all thirty tubes filled with embryos. I look forward to our progress, and our continued safety.
May God be with us.

Out of the first eight eggs, only five were able to survive the genetic engineering process. We destroyed the failures and placed the survivors into the small development tubes. After three hours, they were moved to the larger tubes as the eggs began to develop into embryos. Out of the next batch of eight, we got seven successes. However in the acceleration phase, five of the seven ended up dying for some reason. We don’t know why, but we simply removed the failures and moved the successes forward. We’ll need to rethink what we’re doing if we want to make our efforts more worthwhile. Eggs and sperm are plentiful because of the amount we have frozen, but that doesn’t mean they don’t cost money or are infinite.
Dr. Jim wants to stay behind for the night and try out some different tests with a few assistants. I’ll check in with them in the morning.

This morning we came back to see Dr. Jim and his assistants slaving away over the injection systems and the accelerant tubes. It was astonishing what they had done! Not only had they eliminated the failures entirely from the initial steps, but they had almost filled all of the Gestation Tubes! I was amazed to see their success. I honestly thought it was going to take all night and all day to figure out a solution, but he said it was just a coding error and one of the instruments in the accelerant tubes wasn’t calibrated correctly. How pitiful for us to have missed it.
With our tubes working properly and the injections pumping in the correct genetic codes to the eggs, we’ve decided to move into the next phase. This is where it our prayers will truly need to be heard, for we are about to embark on the most terrifying first step. We’re going to artificially inject quirks into these artificial beings. We have various ways to do so through needle injection, genetically altering food that will be added to the Tube liquid mix, and through forced genetic mutation.
It is my wish that all of these embryos make it. They aren’t my children and they are all ‘fake’ humans, but even I feel a little sad whenever we fail. They may not be real in the sense that they were conceived through regular means, but does that doesn’t mean they aren’t human. Tomorrow, we begin the Modification Phase.
May God be with us.

Well, this is sort of what I expected to happen. The sudden modification and injections to the embryos caused them to simply die. A few died in more grotesque ways than others but I will leave the descriptions to the video cameras to describe. In this log, I will simply state that we were required to drain and clean every tank and we now have to start from scratch. We’ll have to reexamine how quirks develop and try another angle to influence their creation and development. We haven’t found a way to do so at the initial fertilization level, but we may have to. If that is the case, then this will take longer than we expect.
Today, all we did was clean up our mistakes and set up for tomorrow. Dr. Jim and a few of his assistants are staying behind again to prepare the lab for the morning.
I will also note something else… this might be our first sign that we should stop what we are doing. Maybe we’ve already gone to far, but how far is far enough? Should we stop just because of a few simple failures? Or should we take their sacrifice as a learning lesson to push on? Was this a sign from the Gods for us to stop, or is this their way of telling us that we went about this the wrong way? I’m not exactly sure, but I know that by the end of this I might be a different person. Human experimentation is one thing, but what we’re doing here will likely be looked back on as our most disgusting mistake to date.
May God be with us.

A week and a few extra of failures have allowed us to finally make a breakthrough. We’ve discovered the best way to influence quirk development with what we have here. Quirks are developed through a mix of the parent’s genes, but also through the ingestion of certain external nutrients. We discovered that by mixing certain traits together and feeding the embryo specific foods to influence the growth of the quirk, we can get our desired outcome. It’s not perfect but it’s something. Progress, that’s all we are looking for right now. So far we’ve been able to create two successful Subjects with quirks close to what we had attempted to make. I’ve included video files of the two young Subjects as well as their files, but in this log I’ll list some summaries of our observations.
Subject Goldie, we’ll call her, was created to have super long hair that could be used sort of like whips and ropes. We taught her to use her hair for simple tasks; to hold her up, to feed herself, and to hold our fingers. As a baby she doesn’t have much control over anything but we pushed her into the toddler phase of her development and she has been able to control her hair more effectively. Unfortunately, the sudden acceleration to her age and body caused internal failure and she died earlier this morning. Her heart simply failed. Goldie was our first success, and we’ve renamed Tube 15 to Goldie Tube in her memory.
Subject Black was our first mutation subject to survive into the infant stage of development. His mutation was simple, like Goldie’s; a body made of a black gelatin like substance. He was our first semi-human-like attempt to create a human with an entirely inhuman like shape. It worked, for two hours. He was alive and he was coherent, but the lack of a solid body was too much. He died shortly after being removed from the Tube.
We have several others being developed and they should be ready within the next few days for testing. We’re close, very close. Our failures are still high at this point but we can’t keep trying to be perfect. Deaths and failures are expected. Mark started a tally on his computer, but I won’t dare ask what we’re already at. I’m too afraid, and I don’t think I could stomach it.

/Date: 20-04 ---\
With our successes becoming regularities, we’ve decided to finally open up the Nursery room. The subjects are being released during the day to mingle with one another and hopefully develop relationships, under supervision of course. While we are going to be continuing our tests on them, we will not ignore the need for humans to develop social networks and communities. As primates, we have an almost instinctual need to find others like us to share our lives with. Originally we were going to isolate the Subjects, but Dr. Green said that doing so would damage them mentally. Rather than produce subjects capable of success, we would just develop quirk husks. Not wanting to take the risk, we let her lead their development in the Nursery.
However, we did quarantine Subject 18-B and Subject 75-L. Their quirks are dangerous and we cannot let them around the other subjects except under heavy restrictions. Subject 20-A is able to communicate with 18-B through the door, though, and they seem to get along so we’re going to develop a schedule for the two of them to regularly meet and “play”. Unfortunately, the same cannot be done with Subject 75-L. It seems her brain development is not far enough along for her to use telepathy with Subject 20-A.
This is starting to become something all of the Doctors can get behind. At first, we thought that this was going to be a lot more painful for the Subjects and a lot less gratifying. But seeing the little ones starting to act like regular children and actual, real human beings, many of the Doctors are coming to accept our work as lawful and humanitarian. Hopefully progress allows us to continue thinking this way. I fear the worst, but hope for the best.

It happened today, the first break. Subject 13-C snapped during one of his play dates with Subject 14-J and he ended up attacking her. We don’t know what caused it, but he suddenly lost control of his quirk and the left half of his body lashed out at her. Subject 14-J was killed before we could intervene. This is the first case of one of the Subjects losing control of their artificial quirk and while it was unexpected, it was not a full surprise. We are injecting these children with chemicals and things before they are even conscience and are forcing their production to adapt to what we demand. For the quirk to become unstable and for the Subject to have no idea what’s happening or how to stop it, it is an acceptable outcome. Unfortunately, Subject 14-J had a well sought after quirk. Her ability to control matter would have been a very strong asset later on in our process. We’ve preserved her genetic code, however, and a replacement is being created. This time, we’ll keep her away from Subject 13-C.
Subject 13-C has since been disposed of and his quirk has been removed from the database. While the tentacle mutation was also a sought after one for combat or cooking types, its implementation is unstable. We’ll try again another time.
May God be with us.

We had to put a stop to our production cycle of the Subjects. One by one, the subjects began to lose control of their quirks after the incident with Subject 13-J. We don’t know what inspired the sudden activity but we do know that something isn’t right with the quirks, again. Rather than just assume it will fix itself and push on, we’ve decided to start over with a clean slate and try again. We’re going to take a look into the chemical designs of the quirks as well as the genetics of our eggs and sperm donors. We don’t expect them to be perfect or the same, but if we’re going to be successful then we need to find a control gene. We need something as a foundation when it comes to the merger of our artificial quirk and the artificial human. If we cannot make the combination work, then there will be no sense in progressing.
We’re going to develop the subjects in fives, rather than thirties. This will allow us to speed up their development processes and give more focus on the Subjects as individuals, rather than looking at them as a group.
I did something I never wanted to ever do, today. I accidentally looked at Mark’s tally. We’re at three-hundred-fifty-four losses, in just twenty-six days. I almost choked at the number, but I’ll be damned if I stop now. Seeing that number almost makes me want to dedicate myself even more to this work. Three-hundred children have been lost to our mistakes. If I stop now, how could I face them in heaven?

After processing Subject 30-Y into the group of the other Subjects, we took a step back and let them play in the Nursery. The other four subjects had already created a playmate circle and we were hoping that they would bring Subject 30-Y into the fold without much trouble. Boy, were we wrong. Subject 04-T almost immediately began to show signs of not liking Subject 30-Y’s outward appearance and the others followed suit, eventually bullying Subject 30-Y until the Subject fled to her own side of the Nursery. We let them be, though, telling ourselves that interfering with how the Subjects developed in any concept would hurt our experiments in the long run.
Unfortunately for Subject 30-Y, she is on her own. We’ll keep a close eye on her for the next few days to see how things go. This was my easiest Log to type for the past few weeks. I hope it stays like this.

We let our eyes off the nursery for not ten minutes and came back to see something disturbing. Not only had Subject 04-T approached Subject 30-Y, but he had attempted to subdue her using his quirk. Before he could harm her further, our security team intervened and executed Subject 04-T. Subject 30-Y was extracted from the nursery and the children were separated into their rooms.
Each child was interviewed and the interview files have been attached to this document. However we were able to establish the following; the other Subjects were on board with Subject 04-T’s actions, and they all planned to follow in his steps later. They Subjects were also planning to force Subject 30-Y into becoming their messenger to us, as if we were some kind of other being that they could not interact with on their own. They feared us, and thought of us as their “Gods”. Whatever we said, they complied with, but they wanted a medium to speak with us and none of them were brave enough to do it themselves. She was going to become their tool.
How sickening and frightening it is to think that these “children” were able to think of such concepts. Something was wrong with our setup, and we were going to fix that. We eliminated the subjects and will be making another batch.
Batch… I feel as though my mind is forcing me to think of these Subjects as inhuman. If I ever began to think otherwise, I don’t think I could make the decisions I do. This is for the improvement of all mankind. If it means killing a few expendable test subjects, then I am fine with that. Progress is necessary to success.

Through our testing and restructuring of the quirks and genetic injections, we’ve created our first “perfect” specimen, we think. She’s beautiful and she’s everything we expected. We’ve been culturing her for the previous three days and she has integrated almost seamlessly with the other two subjects we’ve already created. She is highly intelligent and has already begun to master her quirk, telekinesis. Her ability to lift objects, people, and communicate with us is astonishing. She is kind and compassionate, shares with the other subjects, and has taken on the role of their “big sister”. It’s an amazing thing to see and we hope that she can continue to show us that we are nearing our goal. We have nicknamed her ‘Queen’.
We’ve made hundreds of missteps, but I think we’re starting to get the gunk out of the gears now. With each failure comes progress, and we have made a lot over these past few weeks. Because of our constant funding and influx of material, we are able to make significant leaps and bounds in our research. In what I thought would have taken years, we have done in days. If only this much effort was put into science all over the globe. If it was, I suspect we would even find immortality within two years.
I am going to speak with the Subjects today about the history of humanity, and what we are hoping to become. Maybe if I share with them why they are here, they will understand. Maybe, just maybe, I will find that what we are doing is justified.

After watching over the subjects, we noticed that Subject 109-A and our Queen have developed a very close relationship. We let them be and even influenced them to spend more time alone with one another. Finally, after some trial and error, we were able to properly create the proper ambience and they copulated. It was beautiful. We originally were going to sterilize the Subjects, but again Dr. Green influenced us to allow them to make that decision. I am glad that we listened. Both Subject 109-A and Queen have shown us that they are capable of paving the way forward, and with such control over their quirks, we expect their child to be even more so over theirs.
We are considering influencing the birth, since waiting nine months isn’t particularly something we can do here with our time constraints, but we will seek permission tomorrow.
In the meantime, we have noticed something strange with Tube 03. The Subject we are developing inside of the Tube was given a quirk which would grant them control over either matter, or an element. Instead, they are emitting little electrical shocks from their fingertips when they kick and squirm around. We don’t know how this happened or why, but we will continue to watch its development.

Our long discussions over what to do with Queen’s child have led us to a decision. We are going to intervene and accelerate the child’s growth. We simply do not have nine months to spend standing around, waiting. Unfortunately, we may lose Queen in the process but we have saved her information into a database. We can remake her if necessary, as well as another Subject 109-A if he becomes unstable. We will begin the procedure tomorrow and hope to have the child in its infant stage by the end of the day.
The product of Tube 03, Subject 203-B has developed a strange quirk that we are a bit unsure of how to handle. The Subject has control over electricity but also shows some signs of being able to control energy. He’s done some strange things yesterday and today, and we don’t know why or how. We’re afraid to push him into the toddler stage of his development, but if we don’t we risk something bad happening.
I’m going to accelerate him later. If something goes wrong, I’ll take the blame but I’m not going to risk what we have now. If nothing else, we’ll just dispose of him.

Queen has survived the surgery and we were able to successfully accelerate her child. It was a girl, so we’ve named her Princess. Princess has been accelerated to the toddler stage of development and her mother has been pushed into the young-adult stage of life. Subject 109-A has been accelerated as well so as to keep his timeline the same as Queen’s. We’ve begun creating a separate room for our little family to live in but for the time being, they are still in the Nursery. Which, isn’t ideal since we want to monitor their progress separate from the other Subjects. It’s amazing to see our little specimens develop into full humans! It’s so exciting!
But, we are troubled. 203-B has begun interacting with Princess and while we are concerned, we told ourselves not to get involved. 203-B has shown restraint with his quirk but something just doesn’t seem right with how he has been approaching Princess. He’s very direct and very protective of her, almost as if she is his possession. It is reminiscent of how Subject 04-T treated 30-Y, but it’s far less aggressive. It’s almost as if he’s trying to influence her development in a certain way… but can a child do that? Can a child come up with such a plan?
I’ve challenged myself to sit back and simply watch. As long as 203-B does not get physical with Princess, I won’t step in and order his disposal. I’m curious to see where their interactions lead.
That aside, Princess has shown great promise. Her quirk is much like her mother’s, but actually more like her father’s as well. While Queen can control objects, 109-A is capable of harnessing the air. As an infant and a toddler, he often created small tornados or caused great gusts of wind throughout the nursery when he was upset. It was difficult to handle him when he threw tantrums and little fits, but after Queen appeared, he seemed to calm down. Princess seems to be the combination of their quirks. She is able to break down objects into smaller molecular forms and use them to generate little storms. It’s a little scary when she starts to get excited in the test room.
Two more subjects are currently in the Tubes, and we hope to introduce them to the nursery within the next few days. We’re going to slow down our influence on the physical development of the next few Subjects in hopes to create more “human”-like Subjects, and we’re going to start teaching them how to use their quirks earlier on. We’ll see how that goes.

We don’t know how, when, or what happened but during her daily physical a few hours ago we discovered that Princess is pregnant. How? How could this happen? She’s in her young teen stage of development, and we did not influence her in any way to copulate with any one of the other Subjects. This is a problem. Her quirk is powerful and depending on who the father is, we might have to intervene. There’s only three Subjects that could have done this; 109-A, 129-K, and 203-B. If it is 203-B’s doing, we’ll be even more afraid.
We might have to remove both of them. 203-B is dangerous and his quirk is developing rapidly. Over the course of three days, he has mastered his quirk and is capable of damaging the surrounding walls of the test room. If this is his child, I fear for what it may become.

The Director responded to us this morning after he closed off the lab. He reviewed some tapes, our progress, and our research with a number of men I have never seen before. They decided to let the child be born, and have told us to accelerate the process much like we did with Queen. He wants us to have the child ready in two days for him to see. It was off putting and we all didn’t know how to respond. Whatever we’ve made, or whatever they made, the Director is treating it like gold. After seeing that, I think I’m beginning to understand what we’re doing here, and a few of the other Doctors are thinking the same. I won’t be noting it here yet, but if I’m right… then I fear what will happen in the next few days.

The child was born successfully and Princess is recovering. The child is being developed at a slow pace, as put forth by the Director. We’ve analyzed its genetic code and we can’t find its quirk. We don’t know what it is and none of our systems are able to detect one. It’s strange. We are thinking it’s a recessive quirk, much like genes. The Subject may not be able to use a quirk, but possibly its offspring? I’m personally unsure of how to view this, or of what to think. Am I surprised? Yes. Am I afraid? Yes. But, the scientist in me is innately curious. I want to know, I need to know why this child is being born and why it is being created. After all of our steps, after all of our work and after watching so many Subjects be disposed of or die, this is what we are faced with.
A child born from perfection and from our fear. This is science in its core, and I can’t keep myself from wanting to smile a little, as scared as I am.

Subject 203-C has been accelerated into his toddler stage and we have seen no signs of a quirk. Nothing. He is completely quirk-sterile and shows no signs of developing one. We have seen some people develop quirks later than others and some Subjects have done the same, but Subject 203-C does not shown any of those signs. Every test we run on him and every sample we take from him repeats the same message to us; he’s sterile.
However, that does not mean he is not dangerous. 203-B has shown quite an affection with his child and Princess dotes on the child excessively. Queen and 109-A have also shown interest, and the family is very affectionate towards one another. The other subjects in the Nursery have been essentially pushed away, and spend much of their time on the opposing side of the room.
The entire day, a portion of the team monitored the family, specifically the child, while the other portion worked on another project that came from the Director. We were sent a strange new DNA strand to add to the database, a new quirk to inject the planned Subject with, as well as a timeline to have the new subject and Subject 203-C mate. It was like the Director wanted us to breed 203-C with whatever we had been given. It was strange, but we did as we were told. Subject 205-A was born and she was accelerated to match 203-C’s current stage in life.
Subject 203-C was pulled from his family and placed into a playpen with 205-A. As much as we wanted to force them to mate and breed, they were not animals. We dared ourselves not to treat the Subjects like such for our own health. But simply putting them in a room together and forcing a relationship didn’t mean it would lead to reproduction.
Or so we thought. Subject 205-A showed an immediate attraction to 203-C, which was off putting, and we had to separate the Subjects. Their bodies were too young, they needed to be accelerated first.
Whatever Subject the Director made us create, she’s feisty and also quirk-sterile. After seeing 203-C, it seems all she wants is to get close to him. This is… not what I was expecting. Either way, tomorrow we will begin our breeding production. Let’s just hope that whatever the Director has in store for us isn’t going to get us all killed.
May God be with us.

After accelerating them, we put Subject 203-C and Subject 205-A into their own room and let nature run its course. Several hours passed before we made the two stop and we waited a day for news as to whether our efforts were a success. With a negative test, we wasted another day in wait. Thankfully the next day was successful and we got our positive.
Today, we were given instructions from above to adjust the new Subject’s genetic code more so than it already has been. Whatever we were making, the Director wanted it to be strong, smart, fast, and superhuman physically. Its quirk was something I had never seen and I can only imagine what we are going to have on our hands when it’s born. The Director doesn’t want this one accelerated like the others and instead will be sending someone to care for the child.
Whatever we’ve just made, it seems to be part of the ultimate plan here. We’ll have to see in the next few days when the Escort arrives.
May God be with us.

/Subject: Our Most Successful Failure, Project GOD. ---\
/Date: 06-06 ---\
I stopped making logs these passed few days since we’ve just been sitting around but today, I wanted to make note of what happened. No, I needed to make a note of what happened.
Today, he was born. The Escort arrived at the lab and half a dozen armed men secured the entire building. All of the subjects were quarantined and we were told to accelerate the new subject to the age of an infant. Subject_0X was the designated he was given by the Escort, and the data for him was completely erased from the database and all of our backup systems. There’s no record of his genetic makeup or his quirk anywhere. He’s a child born out of thin air now.
Subject_0X was pulled from the lab, put into a container, and was gone almost as fast as he was born. And along with him went my job. Shortly after Subject_0X was taken away, another team of scientists was sent down to relieve us. I don’t know why but I don’t think the Director really planned on any of us being kept around after that.
But, I’ll be damned if I let my hard work go in vain… I’ve killed hundreds of children and after seeing Subject_0X be taken away from me, it’s all started to come down around me. I understand what we’ve made and I understand what we’ve been doing. We’ve been lied to from the beginning and we’ve been forced to just follow instructions. Funding for the betterment of mankind? A new path to the future? The safety of our children in a better world that we create with our own hands? It’s all bullshit rhetoric that was meant to keep us locked down here like the same rats we were making in the Tubes.
Too bad, I had grown to like my job.
But now, now I’ll let it be known. We weren’t making new types of humans with quirks that would help us survive. We weren’t making the next stage of human evolution. Our experiments weren’t justified and we weren’t doing anything that can be forgiven. We genetically engineered children to meet the needs of future countries to send to war, and the failures were killed. All five-hundred-seventy-three of them were killed because they were inadequate. They did not meet the criteria of “success”, they could not be used to fight.
We were creating weapons, is what we were doing. Weapons that could be sold to the highest bidder to fight. And we slaughtered every Subject we ever made… for what? For one. For one final infant that was stolen from us in less than 24 hours of its creation. Two months of work, of long hours and mistake after mistake, for one final answer to be found only to be taken from us.
I’ll put this here; I’ve destroyed the lab. I had a feeling that this would happen in some form, so I prepared myself for it. I brought my two hunting rifles from home and two pistols I purchased a few days ago. I killed all of the new scientists and anyone else I didn’t trust. I killed the remaining Subjects, including Queen, 109-A, Princess, and definitely 203-B. I then destroyed all of the database files from the shared server and the other scientists are in the process of destroying the physical copies. We’re burning this lab to the ground and will destroy every single piece of equipment here. Nothing will remain, except for these logs. I’m leaving these logs here as a reminder to anyone who finds them.
What we did here is disgusting, and I now understand why Human Experimentation is off limits. I don’t know what I will do after this, but my days as a researcher are done. No amount of money will change my mind. We weren’t making a God, we were making a Demon.
I think I might try to become a teacher…
If you are reading this, then I hope you will forgive us. I hope all of our children forgive us. And someday, I hope the world forgives us.
And most importantly… May God forgive us.

Memo Number 01
Date: 06/09
Age: 3 Months
-----------------------------------
My name is Earl Stern, and I have been tasked with writing this memo to make a note of Subject_0X’s progress. The Director is very proud of his little creation and myself and the rest of my team are as well. He has shown great progress over these past few months, and we are looking forward to even more in the near future. Subject_0X has been in the care of Lady Trisa and she has taken up the position as his mother-figure. She will be taking direct care of the Subject as we cater to his needs for the next year or two. After that, the Director wants to begin cultivating him to perform his purpose for existence. By imprinting the child with the needed mentality, we are all hoping to achieve the goal the Director wishes for. He shows promise as an infant, but these next few years will be crucial. As per instruction, I will keep a memo of his progress. The Director has told me to remain close to the Subject at all times to monitor progress, but to influence him as little as possible. I am to be a shadow, that is all.
Let us all pray for his future successes.
-----------------------------------
Memo Number 13
Date: 15/04
Age: 10 Months
-----------------------------------
Subject_0X is astonishing. At such a young age, he has come very far! He’s already begun speaking small, singular words and shows signs of advanced thoughts! He’s also started to grasp the use of his quirk. It’s kind of scary, but we are hoping to begin to teach him restraint soon. When he is able to walk on his own, likely in the next few months, we will begin teaching him the skills he will need to serve his purpose.
-----------------------------------
Memo Number 35
Date: 25/08
Age: 1 Year, 2 Months (14 Months)
-----------------------------------
He is just over a year and two months, fourteen months old, and Subject_0X's development is on time as we expect. His speech development is on track, his mobility is advancing steadily, and our only hiccup is that his quirk development has stalled. We will need to wait for his mental capabilities to increase and his speech comprehension to catch up.
-----------------------------------
Memo Number 108
Date: 31/12
Age: 4 Years, 6 Months
-----------------------------------
We’ve been forced to accelerate our time frame. The Director has put down to us that he wants Subject_0X to be usable by the time he’s six, which is going to be a challenge. We’ve already got to fight with nature, but now we only have a year and a half to make the child into a useful tool? I do not usually complain, nor do I like to as I have placed a large amount of my faith into the Director, but this will be difficult. I will have to make some phone calls and compress our schedule. If the Subject is who we have been told he will become, then this will be a very tough two years for him.
Tomorrow, we begin his Baptism.
-----------------------------------
Memo Number 110
Date: 06/01
Age: 4 Years, 7 Months
-----------------------------------
Subject_0X has begun to resist us. This is the first time it has happened, but it is expected. He is young and unknowing. He simply believes us to be caretakers and servants to his needs. He is wrong. It is quite the opposite. He will work for us, and he is the servant. We have had to take drastic measures today and yesterday and have instituted corporeal punishment. Yelling and forceful actions have done nothing. Subject_0X defies all except for the hand and fist. If we must be hard, then we will. He will learn how this world works even if we have to break his fists one bone at a time. While it will impede progress, we will make him learn.
For the next two months, he will learn pain. He will learn sorrow, and he will learn the feeling of being uncomfortable. We are going to teach him basic concepts he will need to live, and we will begin to instil his survival mentality. By imprinting such things at a young age, we hope it will become instinct. He will learn to survive, and he will learn to earn.
-----------------------------------
Memo Number 110
Date: 14/04
Age: 4 Years, 10 Months, Several Days
-----------------------------------
The quick thinking abilities of Subject_0X have begun to show through. He has accepted our training regime these past few days and is beginning to understand that there is no escape. We are law, we are his Gods, and he will obey. We will begin Field Exercises in two months from this date. Due to his progress, we are on course to being ahead of schedule. I will be contacting Dr. Lieto to pay a visit in the next week. When he arrives, we will begin the Crucible.
Subject_0X is showing some signs of physical fatigue, however, so we may need to incorporate an adjustment to his resting schedule and his nutrition. We’ve modified a similar nutrition routine to soldiers and more elite fighters, but for a young child we need to focus more on the building blocks. It’s tough, especially when we are all used to training up men who can survive on very little food intake. But a growing child? Indeed, the Director is expecting quite a lot out of us.
But we will succeed, and the Subject will meet his timelines.
-----------------------------------
Memo Number 135
Date: 06/06
Age: 5 Years
-----------------------------------
We have hit the five year mark. Dr. Lieto made us postpone the Crucible until this day not because it is the Subject’s birth date, but because of a significant need for the Subject to build up his physical needs even more and to recover. It seems we’ve been going too hard for too long, but the Doctor must understand; we don’t have time. The Subject has much to learn, and we have little time. If he is not ready, then it will push everything back significantly. We cannot have that, not when the Director is already pressed for time as is.
We have 12 months to make this Subject into a useable weapon. He will be ready.
-----------------------------------
Memo Number 205
Date: 06/12
Age: 5 Years, 6 Months
-----------------------------------
We are currently in the field at Point Cardinal. It’s the first day in about a week where it hasn’t snowed, sleeted, or been a blizzard. The Subject has shown great progress in advancing his maneuverability and survival skills, and he has adapted very well to the cold. We have been searching for him for three days now and he is doing well. His ability to hide from even us is a testament to his abilities. He may be young and may be small, but he is resourceful and very intelligent. I warned my underlings to be wary of him but they didn’t understand. Now they do.
I have called in a team of bloodhounds and three other specialized search malamutes. We will find the Subject, and he will learn from his failure. It is one thing to hide from human eyes and human trackers, but it is another to hide from the nose of a dog. He will learn.
-----------------------------------
Memo Number 224
Date: 15/02
Age: 5 Years, 8 Months, Several Days
-----------------------------------
We are beginning to close in on our timeline and the Subject’s training is moving forward nicely. With a focus more on his skillset and less on his physical ability, we have seen great advancement in what he can do. The Subject’s versatility in combat rivals that of one of my newer soldiers, and while he is not physically strong enough to fight in a frontal assault, he is useful. He is deceptive, swift with his thoughts, reacts well to adversity, and has shown that he can persevere. I can’t help but be proud of how far he has come since his induction almost two years ago.
But at the end of this week, he will be tested even more. We will be dropping him into Site Tera and he will be forced to survive until June 1st. If he does not, then he will fail and we will report to the Director that he is not ready.
I hope for his sake that I don’t find him out there.
-----------------------------------
Memo Number 242
Date: 12/03
Age: 5 Years, 9 Months, Several Days
-----------------------------------
We’ve pushed deep into Site Tera and several of my team have picked up on various tracks that Subject_0X may have left behind. He’s smart and has left us a large number of traps in the area already. Majority of them are crude and only meant to delay, but he’s slipped away from us and has moved quite a ways into the site. We’ve been pretty light on him so far and have closed in significantly compared to when we initially released him into the Site, but I’ve told my men to start to ramp things up. I told them to find him within the week.
If we do find him in a week, we can at least put more time into training him up further and then restart this test. But if we fail to do so and are unable to find him quickly, then if we catch him after that; it’s over.
The last clue I had was a little footprint and some disturbed leaves. He’s moving North, which is an odd choice since it’s nothing but cliffs in that direction. We never taught him how to scale cliffs without rope or how to survive in the rocks. We’ll see what he does.
-----------------------------------
Memo Number 250
Date: 30/03
Age: 5 Years, 9 Months, Several Days
-----------------------------------
We’ve tracked the Subject into the mountains near the northern border of the Site. We did put a collar around his ankle so if he were to go too far, it would go off and we’d be able to find him immediately, but it hasn’t gone off. If he continues North, he’ll end up making a mess of things. Unfortunately, his time to give up has also passed. It’s the real deal now, and I’ve sent everything out. The dogs have been called in, the helicopters are on the way, and I have two more teams pushing in from the East and West. We’ll pinch the Subject in the mountains and force him to come to us. He won’t have much food up there and he’s far too small to be able to last long without constant nutrition. We also only sent him off with two days worth of food. Even if he’s been skimpy with it, he’s likely run out. Armed with only a knife, string, and a few matches, he doesn’t have much in terms of supplies.
Hopefully for his sake, he finds a corpse of some kind of animal that’s edible. Otherwise, I’m about to snuff out whatever fire is keeping him moving.
-----------------------------------
Memo Number 255
Date: 08/04
Age: 5 Years, 10 Months
-----------------------------------
We’ve been had. I met up with one of my team leaders today after a number of trails suddenly came together to a singular cave and we realized our mistake. The Subject pushed ahead of us, looped back, and took a secondary trail up to the cave. From there, we suspect he either plunged into the cave or used the rock face to escape. If that’s the case, then we’re dealing with a much smarter toddler that I was ready for. Too bad. I was really starting to like the kid. If he keeps this up, I might take his head for a hunting trophy and tell the Director that there was an accident.
We’ll find him tomorrow. After climbing that cliff, he’s likely low on food and energy. I’ve told Team 2 to push around from the backside of the cliff and Team 3 will spear in straight across the middle. Half of my team will circle left, and we’ll flush the Subject out right into their lap. We’re spread out, but he’ll be surrounded by noon tomorrow.
-----------------------------------
Memo Number 258
Date: 13/04
Age: 5 Years, 10 Months, Several Days
-----------------------------------
Today, we made contact, but in a way I never thought would happen. My teams moved in their choreographed manner and we successfully pushed the Subject out. Our dogs had a trail and we were closing in, but for ten minutes, our dogs lost the trail all of a sudden near a cluster of trees and we were forced to stop while the dogs searched. Once they picked up the trail, we suddenly started heading East; straight into the arms of my team going to flank. Not five minutes later, I heard gunfire.
The air was alive for only a breath before the gunfire went silent. We followed the dogs and found one of my men incapacitated, his weapons stripped, rations and water taken, and his radio missing. The Subject had used our maneuver to push through a weak spot and slipped away. This was the second time in under a week he had slipped away from us, but he wasn’t safe yet.
I let two dogs free and sent them on the hunt. Either the Subject would kill them, or they would kill him. He showed that he could fight, now let’s see if he can kill.
-----------------------------------
Memo Number 263
Date: 01/05
Age: 5 Years, 10 Months, Several Days
-----------------------------------
We found the dogs today, what’s left of them. The Subject executed both of them and stripped them for meat and took certain bones we suspect he made into tools for later use. We’ve also found ourselves slowed down significantly by traps again. The Subject is moving away from us at an alarming rate I suspect, and is giving himself a safety net. I’ve sent Teams 2 and 3 on a fast moving push up the sides of the Site to hopefully keep the Subject contained, but we’re running out of time and I’m running out of ideas. He’s avoided our helicopter sensors wisely during the night and is making ground when we are forced to slow down.
If he had actual weapons, I fear that we’d be the ones being hunted at this point. Especially since I haven’t actually seen him since we released him two months ago.
-----------------------------------
Memo Number 280
Date: 15/05
Age: 5 Years, 11 Months, Several Days
-----------------------------------
Team 2 made contact with the Subject late last night and lost him early this morning. The Subject engaged briefly, then was tracked for a mile before the Team lost him. Two hours later, they lost two men in the dark to the Subject. The Team Leader told me he simply lost contact with his men and their markers stopped moving on his display. It was as if the men just laid down and went to sleep or something. The Subject stripped them clean of useful items and vanished again. It’s almost as if he knows he’s messing with us. If he wanted to, he would’ve eliminated the entire Team. But he only took down two; their medic, and one of their heavy machine gunners. Two key components to the Team.
His initial engagement was likely to spot the Team’s primary assets, determine where the key personnel were located, then slip away to get them later. And he executed that perfectly. This is the turning point. He’s got weapons, ammo, and supplies. He knows he can face us head on and win.
Will he take the bait?
-----------------------------------
Memo Number 304
Date: 25/05
Age: 5 Years, 11 Months, Several Days
-----------------------------------
We’ve lost all contact with Team 3. A firefight broke out two hours ago and by the time we arrived to reinforce, only the Team leader was in sight and he was down. He still had his gear, though, so we got to him before the Subject could strip his gear. We’ve changed radio frequencies multiple times and have even switched out encryption chips twice, but it seems like the Subject is still able to find us. I’m unsure of how he’s tracking us unless he’s somehow broken into the local IFF net, but only the team leaders carry that system on them, and all three of us have been up for the last few months.
We have a few days left to catch him and I’m going to bring the remainder of Team 2 into my team. By condensing our firepower and moving together, it’ll discourage a direct engagement from the Subject.
I’ve also called in additional air assets and four Strike Teams. They’ll flood the area in two days. One last push.
-----------------------------------
Memo Number 317
Date: 02/06
Age: 5 Years, 11 Months, Several Days
-----------------------------------
I saw a miracle happen today, and I am very proud. At dusk, three helicopters were in the airspace searching for the Subject. One began to receive direct, focused fire and was struck in the tail motor. The helicopter crash landed near the river bed. All teams pushed in on the location as planned. Team Cerberus was engaged shortly after and all six members were eliminated by the Subject. Team Badger fell behind during our sweep of the area and lost half of its team in thirty minutes. We adjusted our sweep to account for the lost men, only to lose a second helicopter shortly after.
We closed in on the Subject early in the morning at 0230. Several Team Delta members mentioned that they had spotted a small figure on their thermals, but it escaped them. Two more helicopter assets swept the area around Team Delta and spotted the Subject on their sensors. They engaged with electric nets but the Subject retaliated with his quirk. Efficient, accurate, and deadly; he eliminated both helicopters and escaped.
At that point, the Director sent a message across our communication channels; switch to Live Ammunition. Take off the training wheels. We did so, with pleasure.
At 0430, we located the Subject and engaged. The Subject was suspected to have been hit, but there were no blood trails and he escaped. I lost two members of my team in the firefight. Team Badger was wiped out fifteen minutes later and Team Delta swept the area immediately after. They picked up on his trail and we rushed to try and pinch him in.
Air assets returned to the area at 0600, but our lead attack helicopter was shot down when it did a quick flyover of the area. They helicopters were told to keep a distance from the central fighting zone, as they were too easy targets, unless called in.
At 0830, we reengaged with the Subject but he got away once more and this time, he got quite a ways ahead of us. I did not lose a man this time, so I took it as a win.
The Director is sending his Black Squads in now. I won’t have command over the Site once they get here, but if he’s doing that then that tells me one thing; The Director is pleased. As much as my pride is hurt by the fact that I can’t catch a damned five year old, I’m grinning.
Only four days to go.
-----------------------------------
Memo Number 280
Date: 04/06
Age: 5 Years, 11 Months Several Days
-----------------------------------
The Black Squads arrived and parachuted into the Site ten minutes ago. The forest has been silent ever since. Usually we can hear the birds and the rustling leaves, and there’s been quite a bit of gun fire going on around the last few hours between my team and Delta. But now, it’s silent. The Subject has slipped from all of our sensors and isn’t even firing on the helicopters anymore. He may not know who just dropped in on him, but I think he understands that if these guys came out of the sky like they did, then it would be wise for him to slip away while he could.
I’m proud to say that I trained this young man. He’s going to slaughter them.
-----------------------------------
Memo Number 280
Date: 05/06
Age: 5 Years, 11 Months Several Days
-----------------------------------
The clock is ticking and the Black Squads have been dancing around his forest like chickens without heads. The Subject has been unleashing everything he could think of on these guys and we’re just pigs to the slaughter at this point. Of the Twenty men that parachuted in, eight are dead, five are incapacitated, two are lost, and three are wounded, and two are healthy. They rushed the area and attempted to engage the Subject in pairs or trios, rather than collecting into teams and increasing their firepower. My team and Team Delta have been moving to support, but the Black Squad members have been getting dropped before we can get to them. It’s been like a merry-go-round for us.
We’ve hunkered down for the night and are going to move to the pick-up point in the morning. This fight is over.
-----------------------------------
Memo Number 281
Date: 06/06
Age: 6 Years
-----------------------------------
We moved to the pickup site at exactly 0000 hours and arrived at 0315. We gathered up all of our wounded and passed by a number of medical personnel who were going out to recover the dead and incapacitated. When we reached the site, we were not surprised to see the Subject sitting on a set of pelican crates, surrounded by the equipment he had recovered and used against us. It wasn’t a lot as he couldn’t carry much, but it told us a lot about who we had fought. And it was a sign; we had done our job. For two years straight, we pumped knowledge into this young man and dared him to be better than us. We challenged and pushed him, and spit in his face while he spit in ours.
Now, he took all of our knowledge and turned it on us in the dirtiest way possible. To top it all off, he even made it back before we did. It was astounding.
During my time with the Subject, I learned quite a lot about both myself and the Subject. After these past three months, I am confident that he will prove to be a violent force in the future. The Director will have his tool.

QUIRK & SKILLS
Light Bending
TYPE: Emitter
RANK/LEVEL: A-
SUMMARY:
Through the combination of a number of quirks, the User has developed the ability to directly influence the light directly around them self and in the area around them. During the day when the sun is in view, the user is able to manipulate the sunlight around him and absorb it into his body for use during the night. If he has filled his body's capacity, he is able to use the light around him rather than use what is inside of his body.
At night, the User is able to manipulate the moonlight and artificial light within his space, but he cannot absorb either for more immediate attacks and require more time to be collected for use.
Manipulated light can be reflected, refracted, or collected into concentrated amounts for direct and powerful attacks. By using specific weapons or tools, the collected light's strength may be amplified exponentially.
Absorbed light can be expelled or collected into various shapes to be used as hand-held weapons or tools for a short span of time.
Used light color can be changed depending on the strength and concentration of light used. To make a "stronger" weapon, more light must be expended.
