Eyes akin to pools of honey, lips pink and full, strands of midnight woven into her cranium. A woman draped in beauty, grace and power, with delicate features complimenting her smooth light bronze skin as if crafted from the finest Greek stone. Almond shaped eyes are surrounded by naturally thick and luscious eyelashes, which bring out her sultry visage with fine arches of hair just below her forehead. A well placed, round, nose sits in the middle of her face an inch or so above that of her full strawberry lips; naturally pouted and revealing a hint of her sparkling white enamel.
Kiyomi's raven locks are often straightened elegantly, save for when she allows her natural curls to caress her neck and clavicle while cascading to her middle back. A slight hourglass shape forms her svelte physique, standing at a stature of 5'10'', and rounding out to 130 lbs even. Her legs are long and well defined along with her round shaped bottom fitting her rather shapely hips.

RUMOR/SECRET: | That she and Jubei were thieves alongside her father and betrayed him to keep the loot. |
Despite her name being that of a fruit, Kiyomi is far from ’sweet’ and acting reminiscent of her name would be insulting her own intellect. Though she is a pro hero, she is a woman who follows her own rules, and anyone who doesn’t like it will simply have to deal with it. This philosophy is generally shown in how she treats tasks, taking her own morals above the decision of anyone else’s (especially those of high wealth), silently discriminating against the rich and noble because of her own upbringing. These same traits also cause her to surprise others after meeting her, as they expect her to be as delicate as her features suggest and this is far from the truth. Giving her the nickname of a “Merciless Angel”.
While some may see Kiyomi’s personality as that of a robin hood stereotype, it is actually more a personal feeling and much less a political philosophy or statement. She has little but contempt for higher authority, and seems to only respect those who treat her with equal respect. Going so far as to call the headmaster out on their way of speaking to her, and demanding they treat her as an equal, refusing to follow the belief that her existence holds less importance. Wanting for a world where every person is equally valued, even though such a thing is unlikely to happen.
The young woman also has diverse views on men, with a mixture of distrust (an attitude hardly limited to the male gender) and contempt, with a decent helping of willingness to prey on what she sees as their weaknesses. This obvious distrust originating from her relationship with her father as well as her interactions with other men, whose only desire was to use her body in perverse ways. This has lead to Kiyomi defining herself as a woman who doesn’t need any men in her life; her opinion of men not being improved any by the men she deals with on a daily basis.
Dealing with citizens and fellow warriors eyeballing her svelte frame understandably gets entirely tiresome. Kiyomi, however, isn't above using her sexuality to control and influence men around her. Manipulating them to get food, clothes, or even money, without ever sleeping with them; she’s smarter than people think. Despite being home schooled up until the age of 14 she managed to graduate U.A. early and even work as a science teacher, having earned a masters degree in chemical engineering.
Polarity could honestly count the number of individuals who she actually trusts with her life on one hand, with such a number being generous. Her past and profession teaching her that she could only truly rely on herself and her need to be independent tends to make her keep others at a distance so they don’t tie her down. Not letting anyone define or limit her other than herself; Hell, even her arguably closest friends just don’t ‘get’ Kiyomi, which is how she likes it. Brushing off attempts to get close to her with snide or sarcastic remarks, which often come out more hurtful and aggressive than she intends but she doesn’t mind, it gives people a taste of what she can dish out. On the other hand, those friends she does have should not be trifled with or she will fight as hard for them as she would for herself and she has a soft spot for her students. Seeing them almost like her own children and willing to open up to them more than a stranger.
Determination is Kiyomi’s middle name and if something is obstructing her path, she will do whatever it takes to overcome such a set back. Whatever it takes, she will keep going and whatever obstacles life throws into her path she will either learn from, or find a way to overcome them. This is something she has instilled in her students hoping to motivate them to make their own path, unwilling to compromise when it comes to their free will. They WILL make their own destiny and she will move heaven and hell to make sure they get to make that choice.
One thing everyone can agree upon is that Kiyomi is in possession of a dangerously sharp tongue, with most of her conversations resembling verbal fencing matches. Whether it's friendly sparring or a battle to the death is up to the person on the receiving end of her snappy wit, with this trait coming into play during battle. Known for taunting opponents in an attempt to infuriate or otherwise distract them so she can get the upper hand, though there are a few subjects that are absolutely verboten (such as her mother) and these will earn the offender a rapid rise in her irritation. Of course she will never admit to it, naturally, and most things slide off her back easily enough. One of the few good things having an overly critical father can make.

BACKGROUND HISTORY
PLACE OF BIRTH/HOMETOWN: | Tokyo |
PARENTS: | Susumu Tenma (Presumably deceased father) Tsuki Tenma (Mother) |
SIBLINGS: | Jubei Tenma (Younger Brother) |
SIGNIFICANT OTHER: | N/A |
OTHER: | An Eastern painted turtle (Speckle), A hedgehog (Silver) |
One might think that being born to two of the most popular heroes in Tokyo would be a dream come true, with everyone knowing your name and living a lavish life. If only they knew the truth about such an upbringing, the grass is always greener on the other side or so they say. Kiyomi knows this concept well, often times wishing she was born into a different family as a child despite how 'well off' she was. Her father found himself too busy for his wife and children; drowning his sorrows in tall bottles and constantly obsessing over his hero ranking. Equally as obsessed with maintaining a high enough spot to supply for them, neglecting that they needed him beyond being 'taken care of'.
His feelings birthing a constant, toxic, competitive nature with his wife who's rank closely followed his.
Kiyomi's story starts during the descent of her families life, having only known wealth for just a short time. The young baby was constantly being cared for by her mother and nannies when they were away on business and as such her relationship with her mother, while slightly strained, was exponentially greater than her relationship with her father. Nothing could get him to pry his mind from his work for long, and even when her brother was born 3 years after her did her father take much notice of the children.
This however changed slightly when Kiyomi's quirk manifested at the age of 4, the usual period which sparks such an occurrence. A nightmare had awoken her, so intense that her screams rang throughout the estate but this wasn't what woke her parents. The rattling of metal trophies and objects flying about, rushing to their daughters room to find the metal foundations of the room warped dangerously; threatening to collapse onto the child. Her power was seemingly greater than both of theirs but unfortunately she was no natural in it's use, possessing only raw untapped potential that caught her fathers eye; much to her own chagrin.
Susumu, her father, had taken this opportunity to take the young girl under his wing and mold her into what he desired to be... the number one hero of Japan. Pushing her growth through constant tests, starting off with the basics of professional hero training while she was just 5 years old and including her brother, Jubei, when he developed his own quirk at this time. Jubei and Kiyomi were constantly pitted against each other, always at opposite ends of the battle ground to determine which of his children would be worthy of the mantle. Something Tsuki didn't agree with and greatly expressed this to her husband time and time again.
His training was far too rough, far too grueling for simple kids and it didn't give them time to simply be kids. These arguments happened more and more frequently as the months went by, eventually leading to a domestic dispute where Susumu used his metallic shifting quirk against his electrical spouse; something the public didn't take lightly. Stripped of his hero license and slammed with divorce papers, the man seemingly had no other options but to leave. Though he wouldn't do so without creating quite the storm.
Abducting 5 year old Kiyomi and Jubei in the middle of the night, he would leave the country with them to start a new life with the two of them as his tickets to greatness. He had been disgraced, but no one had known of his progeny and that was a golden opportunity. Living on the streets of New York, the kids who had once known luxury now faced poverty, having been convinced that their mother had given custody to their dad and abandoned them. Creating a great rift between the patchwork relationship she'd built with her over the years, ruining any sympathy she had left for the woman... Sure, she hated her father but at least he'd bothered to care for her.
Kiyomi took this anger and used it as fuel, determined to prove herself superior to both parents and refusing to fail; birthing her own obsession with success. Susumu would train his children harder than even before, honing their quirks impressively in just 5 years learning to steal and pickpocket with her gifts was easy. Her control over her magnetism had become incredibly refined despite being only 10 years old, and she'd even managed to increase her understanding of it through books and on top of trial and error. Though older now she was rather curious on why their father constantly had them on the move, different cities every other week and paranoid hiding most times.
Hell, they hadn't even managed to get a real home, staying in different ratty motels for the years they had been with their dad. She did notice a trend in his behavior however, as he would constantly leave the house in all black with a book bag and return in the morning to provide them with food and light pocket change. Suspicious she pretended to sleep one night but ended up following him discreetly, only to see him pulling off a heist with a small gaggle of thieves and wasted no time in confronting him.
Questions ran rampant, and tensions ran high, had her entire childhood just been a lie? Had her mother actually given them up?! Furious with the man the 14 year old girl's powers went haywire and in turn her steel skinned father fell victim to it's influence, twisted and maimed heavily by the backlash of her psyche. His allies found themselves subdued by the minor as well and with the arrival of the police everything had been put out into the open. Kiyomi and Jubei were taken to the police station where they explained what had happened, and found their way back to Japan with their mother in no time. However their fathers body had never been recovered, leaving Kiyomi in the dark on the truth of whether or not she killed him.
Reunited with Tsuki, the two children rekindled their bond with her and enrolled in U.A. in the same sitting. Kiyomi was a top student during her time at the academy, showing great control and understanding of her powers and combat thanks fully to her fathers torturous teachings, but it paid off in the end. Kiyomi was good enough to skip a year and graduate at the age of 17, much to her mothers own delight and the shock of her peers; this was when she joined an agency and took to the streets of Japan. The Magnetism Hero, Polarity! A fresh face in the scene of justice; all while attending college with a Major in Chemical Engineering.
During the next 7 years Polarity would work her hardest to redeem the tarnished image of her family that her father created. Struggling to do so and instead deciding to live and create her own image, no long wanting to live in the pasts shadow. Coming back to U.A. now, Kiyomi decided to become a science teacher for the school as well as the homeroom teacher for class 2-A. Planning to give them the free reign and backing to form their own destinies, good or bad. Kiyomi is a strong believer in free choice, as all the faculty and students have come to know given her unapologetic nature,

THE ARMORY
Hero Costume: Kiyomi's costume consists of a form fitting, sleek black body suit that hugs her throat like a turtle neck and stops at her wrists and ankles. A similar material ankle shoe coming up over her feet to give a uniform look, with yellow stripes going down both arms and from her armpits down her sides and legs. What makes this outfit stand out are the reflective metallic alloy braces attached at different locations, including her wrist, calves, three rings around each bicep, a dangling belt and a silver colored cape; her eyes covered by a simple black mask. These silver gauntlets and shin guards are composed of an alloy created by Kiyomi to be both incredibly durable, while also being incredibly lightweight and malleable; withstanding small firearms, explosions from grenades and reflective enough to redirect lasers. Their flexibility also enables her to form weapons and necessary tools on the fly with pieces of the material, with each bracer being form fitted to her arm making them indiscreet under her civilian garbs. Her suit is bulletproof as well as being insulated for temperature extremes (low and high) and insulated against electrical attacks.
Medicine: Kiyomi keeps headache medicine on deck while on the job, considering how many times she's been forced to push herself she finds that fortune favors the prepared.

QUIRK & SKILLS
MAGNETISM
TYPE: Emitter
RANK/LEVEL: A-
SUMMARY:
Magnetism, exactly what it sounds like when you read it aloud, Kiyomi's quirk allows her to influence and manipulate magnetism; allowing her to move metallic and magnetic objects with the finesse of an advanced telekinetic. While she generally uses these gifts simply on metal given how easy it is to bend to her will, the woman has explored the many facets of her abilities given their potential; one would do best not to assume she simply has 'metal manipulation'. Kiyomi's powers are developed enough to where she is capable of controlling her own magnetic field to cling to surfaces or achieve flight at about 60mph at up to a 50m altitude (by riding the earths magnetic field), expanding this 'bubble' to allow her allies to float within for quick transport (reducing it to 30mph at a 25m altitude).
Ferromagnetism: By far the simplest and most common application of magnet related quirks, it is the basic mechanism by which certain materials (such as iron) form permanent magnets, or are attracted to magnets. Kiyomi is able to psionically tap into this force and in turn magnetize metal and manipulate magnetic objects, causing them to attract or repel each other. Her psionic influence is strong enough to where the object in question is malleable, but not to a liquid point. However once she removes her influence from what she is controlling it becomes retains it's new shape, allowing her to create weapons and other crude ‘sculptures’ with her quirk. Repairing and merging metallic objects are all feasible methods of usage if the situation calls for her expertise.
Kiyomi can use this offensively, defensively and even tactically while on the job and wearing metal is a surefire way to fall victim to her clutches. The hero has used this to disarm foes by snatching their guns and knives, halting ferromagnetic bullets in mid flight with the option of redirecting them with lessened force, even levitating and moving several vehicles at a moments notice. Though the caliber and velocity of the bullets she's stopping affect the time it takes with small hand guns being far from a problem but high caliber shots taking much more focus (both take her full attention in that moment, and require 1 post to stop the projectiles and a separate 1 post to redirect them back). These bullets also have a visible trajectory when redirected making them more avoidable than when originally fired. When pulling metals from others grip she will need to apply more magnetic pull than what they can apply in strength, meaning if someone can lift a 1 ton she'd need to use 1.5 tons of magnetic force to snatch their tools.
Polarity also seems to possess some form of ferromagnetic sense as she can 'feel' where metallic and magnetic objects are around her within a 100ft radius, pinpointing and identifying them based on shape, size and weight. A handy tool when planning an attack, escape or searching for her keys.
Electromagnetism: Electromagnetism involves the electromagnetic force, a type of physical interaction that occurs between electrically charged particles and a key aspect of chemistry. The electromagnetic force is carried by electromagnetic fields composed of electric fields and magnetic fields, and it is responsible for electromagnetic radiation such as light. This is a newer aspect of her powers she has yet to refine to such a degree as her ferromagnetic ability, but Kiyomi being a user of magnetism can naturally also tap into electromagnetism. Using her quirk to sway magnetic fields to manipulate electrical currents to a minor degree which may not sound too impressive, but it can come in handy in sticky situations, allowing her minor control over electrical currents, appearing akin to mediocre technopathy. At it's simplest she can shut down an appliance subtly by short circuiting or overloading it, and disrupt radio frequencies; even blowing light bulbs during an emotional flare up. At her best however, it can be as effective as releasing an electromagnetic pulse reaching 30ft.
However useful an EMP is, it is incredibly hard to aim. At best she can pick a direction and create a pulse having no ability to pinpoint what is affected, it's an all or nothing wave currently. Similar to her ferromagnetic sense she also possesses an electromagnetic sense to a much more minor degree, feeling electrical impulses and currents in a 50ft radius; limited to devices and not the impulses in a human nervous system given how much weaker they are. The exception being someone with a powerful eletical current inside of themselves like a living lightning bolt or someone with enhanced neurology. Kiyomi has recent shown the capability of amplifying electrical currents she is controlling, only potent when reflecting an attack of that element be it something as small as a taser or an electric quirk. Subduing a threat if one isn't immune to their own lightning or possibly bolstering them if they can absorb the blast, though she can only double the output of the original shock.
WEAKNESSES/LIMITATIONS:
With great power comes great weakness, and Kiyomi is no stranger to this. The first being that she may be able to psionically control the magnetic fields but can only do so by channeling that power through her hands, often performing exaggerated gestures to use her quirk which means bound hands equals bound powers. Considering the fact that her hands are surrounded by silver magnetic waves when she does so makes it not so subtle either, less she hide her hands from sight. Polarity also cannot use her powers on nonmagnetic objects such as gold, wood, plastic, and even aluminum. A perfect counter to magnets being fire and heat as magnets lose their charge when under such conditions her power is far from unaffected. Speaking of conditions, she can only fly at the limits stated as her body isn't adapted to flying at high altitudes or speeds.
Kiyomi's quirk is strong enough to lift several cars, fling a bus into a sky scraper, levitate multiple people at once but all of these are limited by the size, weight and distance they are from her. Within 20 feet can a full In short the further away something is, the more difficult it is for her to control it and as such her powers are often limited to an 100ft range given they are incredibly weakened when at this range (lifting 10 cars within 10ft to her is no problem, at 100 feet she'd likely be lifting one car at max). At 100ft she is limited to simple tasks such as lifting and moving objects slowly.
On top of the fact that quirks are all like extensions of their wielders body, despite how easy she makes it look she does suffer fatigue and headaches from overuse. Picture it as running a marathon, sure she's capable of doing it at her own pace but sprinting full speed the entire way would be highly unlikely, and she can exert herself at max for around 5 posts before she begins to feel such an effect. It's best to use her powers in short burst or for simpler tasks than say holding up a toppling ferris wheel, considering that's just one big nose bleed and a bottle of Aspirin when it's over.
Her electromagnetism also isn't something she has refined to the point of her ferromagnetism, limited to redirecting existing electrical currents as opposed to creating her own. She cannot triple or quadruple electrical output either, only doubling it at best when necessary. Her magnetism quirk is also tied to her emotions, meaning she has to practice emotional control of herself lest she relapse and bend the support beams of a building she's standing in. The last of her many drawbacks is that Polarity is often times stagnant while using her quirk, given it relies on concentration and... well have you tried texting while sprinting, it's not easy in the slightest. This isn't as severe as if she were to be doing something minor but she won't be pulling off any big feats while running around. This makes her an easy target in a battlefield where everyone is constantly on the move.

SCIENCE
RANK/LEVEL: A
SUMMARY: Kiyomi's favorite study, the one she's dedicated her life to outside of hero work and once she easily excels in. Ever since she was a child she would drown herself in science books and even decided to pursue and complete a masters degree in chemical engineering, which took a total of 7 years of her focus; managing to graduate as valedictorian all while working as a pro hero. Attaining this degree requires studying advanced concepts in mathematics, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, physics, chemistry and other areas related to the application of chemical engineering; a field involved in the design and development of new products from raw materials. They use their knowledge of chemical properties and reactions to transform materials from one state to another, for example making plastic from oil. Incredibly learned and practiced in the skill, she is qualified enough to teach science at U.A. which is no small feat and utilizes her studies to better understand her quirk and it's capabilities.
KEEN INTELLECT
RANK/LEVEL: A
SUMMARY: One doesn't simply skip a grade in U.A. without good reason, and while Kiyomi may have a decent quirk but she has never been dense. Her interest in improving her mind through reading, science and training has shown in her keen intellect, hell she was the valedictorian of her college experience while working full time as a pro hero. She is incredibly observant and analytical, able to watch her students (and others) in action for a short time and come up with masterful strategies to subdue them using science, quirk study and experience. Kiyomi can discern others mental states and behaviors with simple observation and co-relation, using this to find fuel for the taunts she dishes out during fights. Using distraction methods to gain an upper hand against stronger opponents, much to their ignorance, and can use her quirk and equipment together with expert finesse.
COMBAT PROWESS
RANK/LEVEL: B
SUMMARY: Kiyomi has finished U.A., been trained by a pro hero since she was 5, been in various combat situations against her brother and father and worked as a pro hero for 11 years. Needless to say, she has a fair share of combat experience and has managed to stay relatively unscathed for this time due to an amalgam of experience, training, intelligence and preparation. Trained in Muay Thai and Judo in U.A., with Aikido and Karate training by her father, she specializes in using her natural flexibility in conjunction with brutal counterattacks, useful submissive holds and her lithe physique to escape tricky situations up close. Kiyomi can give damage better than she can receive it, given her physique, relying on experience, training and her equipment to assist in hand to hand. She has been shown capable of subduing several villains with her bare hands when her quirk isn't effective against them, despite not practicing as regularly as she used to.
MULTI-LINGUAL
RANK/LEVEL: C
SUMMARY: Kiyomi has lived in both Tokyo, and several cities around the U.S. while learning to fluently understand, read, write and communicate in both Japanese, English and Spanish. She could translate a conversation effectively and can even speak nerd in each language, going on long tangents about science and culture, you name it. She can mimic the accent of each language perfectly and if one were on the phone with her they would assume she was a native speaker.
