❝ "T-Thank goodness…” Letting out no small amount of relief when she lifted the child just an inch and found that the structure onto which she clung did not buckle beneath her because of it, while she was still not sure if the force that held them in the sky was the result of this youngster’s quirk or something else it was reassuring none the less. After all, she had no idea what she would do if all of a sudden all three of them were tumbling toward the ground right now. “It’s OK, your aunt Aina is here to take you back to your Mama, OK?” Cooing softly as she tightened her grasp around the little body in her hands to grip the small shape more firmly without hurting it, though it was an odd thing to be reliant upon in the middle of her duties as a hero Miss Shiratori couldn’t help but feel glad that she was an elder sister right now. Remembering herself as a little girl of only a few years old who was cradling her younger brother in a manner like this, it was a skill that the girl had never anticipated being useful to her in her career as a hero but one she was happy she possessed all the same, especially in a situation such as this. “H-here we go sweetie…” Inching the child closer and closer to her as she hung precariously off the floating foundation of an airborne stroller, with both hands wrapped around the child and her waist hung over the handle of the object beneath her Aina couldn’t help but feel rather unsteady, and didn’t want to throw off any force of balance that was keeping them in place. “Easy does it…” Fighting against everything inside her of course as she did this, while her instincts told her to wrench this small and soft soul into her arms and never let go, the experience of the girl forced her to be patient. Not likely to be burdened with a whole lot of time to carry out her deed and that pressure making her want to rush, the young woman knew that the last thing she needed was to throw herself in a freefall or risk fumbling this innocent young soul and because of this she needed to temper herself, and show plenty of care as she did what would have otherwise been a very simple act… |

❝ Finally! Letting out a mental exclamation of relief as she finally managed to pull the baby into her bust and wrap one of her arms around the child to support in a fashion she had gotten so accustomed to as a child, though even this meagre achievement made her want to pump her fist in victory given their situation Miss Shiratori curbed that urge and focused on the next stage of her plan instead. “There we go, now…” Gripping the tiny head of the child in her hand as she supported its body with her arm and whispered softly the free hand of the femme gripped the handle of the stroller tightly as she learned herself backward and shifted her feet in turn, psyching herself up for the next part as she did so. “Just a little ride down to the ground…” It a daunting enough task to jump down and hit a rooftop from this height even with her quirk and without a baby clenched in her arms, Aina silently wished that some timely ally in heroics would show up in this very second and snatch them both out of the air, but it seemed that her luck wasn’t in. Glancing from side to side and behind her to see no one shooting through the air toward them, the girl recognised that she was on her own in this, and it was up to her to save the both of them. “I’ll try to be as gentle as I can?” Taking one deep breath and then two as she hung off the stroller and summoned both the courage and necessary grace she needed to perform the act that she planned, after whispering words of assurance to both the child and herself, the girl clenched her teeth and got the deed under way by driving her heels into the object she hung onto to vault off it, and all the while hoped that the both of them would manage to find safe ground without being hurt… |

❝ “HUNFFFFF!” Letting out a grunting groan as she unleashed the spring-like power in her legs and sprang away from the stroller once and all, while power was important to the act that she wished to accomplish, Aina knew she would also need to call upon every ounce of control and coordination that she could summon as she did so. The tiny body she gripped so very delicate, while her developed body could handle the strain of her strength placed upon it, one would find it rather easy to guess that the baby could not and the blanched beauty was very aware of this fact. Hang on tight… Some strange impulse within the girl seeming to compel her to close her eyes as she shot off the stroller but once again the teen fighting against that urge, the very moment that she released the handlebar of the carriage she slung her arm around herself and hung onto the baby with a gentle but firm grip, all while keeping her vision clear as well. Needing that gaze to know if she was going to land upon the rooftop or not, if it was a case of the latter the lady in lilac would need to assess her other options, very rapidly in fact. Am I…? Once again employing the acrobatic skill she had spent so long honing as she turned herself over in mid-air through the use of a backward flip, though Miss Shiratori was more used to doing such things with her arms outstretched for a feeling of grace and balance she tried to ignore the sense of unease she felt by cradling the baby in front of her, and focused on her trajectory instead. Looking down beneath her as she tried to judge whether or not the airborne path that she had created would be enough to carry her toward the rooftop she aimed for rather than the deep fall beneath it, though in ordinary circumstances such a distance wouldn’t have been much of a problem things were different right now, and that was reflected in the distance that she reached. No! Not managing to reach even half as far as she might have ordinarily anticipated, there was any number of reasons to explain this. Perhaps her legs were more tired than she had expected, or the unstable structure she had vaulted off had denied her the full chance to exploit the potent strength she had in her downstairs, or maybe she had even held too much of that amazing strength back on account of the child? Whatever the reason, she was currently tumbling toward the ground, and from the read she got on her trajectory the girl knew it wasn’t going to be a happy landing… |

❝ Last chance! In that moment finding herself wishing she had some sort of skill to kick off the air or something and push herself that bit further forward, but knowing deep down that she couldn’t, instead Aina bit into her lip and made a last ditch effort to save both herself and the child that she held. It risky for sure but her path seeming to take her just close enough to the edge of the building that she might just be able to snatch the edge of that rooftop if she reached out for it, though she would have to take the entirety of the resulting impact and hang time with her far less impressive upper body in order to spare the child that was a burden the blanched beauty was willing to take. If she could pull it off that was. Time already moving slowly for her as she flung herself through the air but the passage seeming to slow to a pace that even a snail would overtake with ease, those aquamarine eyes sharpened like those of a hawk as she shifted her grip on the shape in her arms to pull the baby to the opposite side of her, and then thrust her arm out as far as she could. The moments that passed by seeming so very agonizing, even though it only took a fraction of a second for the violet vixen to know if her effort was a success it felt like so much longer, and because of that, made the instant that she felt something hard beneath her fingertips feel all the sweeter. “Annnnggaahhh!” A gasp of relief quickly turning to one of agony as she wrapped her fingertips around the tile she sought and found all of her weight forced onto a single arm, while she could have readily supported such a burden with her lower limbs thanks to her quirk, the same was not true for her largely ‘normal’ arms who were now struggling under the strain of supporting her weight. Remembering just how much heavier she was than a ‘normal’ girl in times like this, while her acrobatic and heroic training meant she was in fine shape all around, that didn’t mean the girl would find a task easy by any means. It also didn’t mean she was guaranteed success either. “N-NO!” Just about managing to steady her weight on one arm and hold the baby with the other, even before the blanched beauty had the chance to consider the idea of trying to pull herself up onto the roof with this lone arm, she found herself falling victim to rather a cruel stroke of luck. The tile that she grasped proving itself not the most secure structure to hang from, even compared to the stroller she had been straddling only seconds before, to the horror of Miss Shiratori she found it giving way whilst still being grasped within her fingertips, and a sense of panic set into her as she once again began to slip down through the air… |

❝ Not… Today! Unsure of exactly what inspired the idea in her mind but likely later guessing it was a sheer sense of pig-headed determination that filled her with a fool’s sense of optimism, as she felt her grasp slipping free from that safe and study rooftop thanks to the curse of a loose tile Aina clenched her jaw hard and began to flail her feet beneath her in desperate defiance. The act not entirely intentional but perhaps some part of her remembering the image of her mentor sprinting up a wall to rescue herself as a little girl, now that she was a grown woman with her own set of strong legs, some part of her compelled her to mimic the act and all too quickly she was hammering the side of the wall with her toes in a desperate effort to find some form of purchase. “Hnnnnnnngggggg!” The arm of the girl throbbing with pain as she did so and her legs too seeming to not entirely enjoy the experience all that much either, through sheer effort of determination and even more exertion from her lower limbs the girl flailed her feet desperately and dragged them on the wall, all while frantically trying to grab some form of purchase, and you know what? Somehow, she actually did it. “Rrrrraaahhhhhh!!!” It certainly not the most graceful act for one to observe with a girl fighting so desperately with her feet and each step only seeming to move her an inch at the most, despite how cartoonish she looked right now and how unladylike she sounded as she let out a howling groan to compel herself along, Miss Shiratori likely wouldn’t mind all that much in the aftermath. Looking somewhat idiotic and hardly making any kind of progress with the amount of effort she was putting in, regardless of this the simple fact was that Bravura was making progress, and though it took what felt like a lifetime to achieve she finally found the wall she sprinted up running out and fell forward toward some awkward sense of respite. I did it…? The lungs of the lilac lady screaming for air as she flopped over onto her knees upon the rooftop toward which she had so desperately sought to reach, both of her arms were wrapped tightly around the little bundle at her bust that held the baby, and it was with no shortage of relief that the girl welcomed the sound of the child bursting into a sobbing cry in her chest. I… Did it! Certainly unsure of whether or not she might have hurt the baby and still not entirely convinced it was fine even now but the fact that it was crying a sign that it had endured nothing too overly significant for its system, as Aina rested there with her legs throbbing so hard and fast she was sure she was kneeling upon a massage chair she couldn’t help but feel a sense of accomplishment in what she had done. Even if she was rather surprised at it as well… |

❝ “Looks like he’s going to be just fine….
A little shaken but no signs of hurt from what the medics say? A smile clear on the face of the Blazing Bronco as he strolled back toward Aina from the ambulance that had been summoned to the scene with her distress call, even though it made her feel a little childish, the white haired young woman couldn’t help but feel just a hint of happiness as he laid a hand on her head and ruffled her hair softly and in a manner that seemed saturated with pride. The girl having been filled with no shortage of relief when her mentor finally made the scene and helped both the baby she had rescued and even herself down from the roof she had stranded herself upon, now that she was back on ground level she was even more glad for his company as she rested her gams on a bench nearby. “That’s a relief… I was really scared I might have hurt him or something?” Certainly pushing herself to her limit with what she had done, but the first thought that the girl had about the safety of the youngster that she had rescued from his wayward stroller, Miss Shiratori was certainly glad to know he would be alright after this and even more when she had realized how close they had both come to a nasty end. Not knowing at the time due to having her mind on other matters, Bravura only realized the danger she had been in when someone had told her how the suspended stroller had come crashing down to the floor only a matter of seconds after she had reached the rooftop, so she definitely appreciated her own haste in addition to the fact that she had come through things in such an able matter, all things considered. “Nah, a big sister always knows how to take care of a kid, doesn’t she?” The Bronco always seeming to know what to say to her to make her feel good about herself, though, even after all that had happened and the success she had found, Aina couldn’t help but question her decisions. Thinking she might have been a bit reckless in throwing herself into the air like that even if things did work out in the end, Buck seemed to immediately sense her confusion and cut through it in the same charming manner he had when she was a child. “Though, I’d say even a big sister might need a tip or two if she plans to continue running up walls?” Gifted with so many things by his quirk but the great strength of this man seeming to be his charisma, it felt like he always knew how to make a girl like Miss Shiratori smile, and that was probably part of why she still continued to nurse a tiny little crush on him. So that was probably why she began to giggle next, even if the joke the man made wasn’t particularly funny… |
