The day was clouded over with a chance of rain. As usual, the Vice Headmaster was running around campus meeting with students and teachers in her daily rounds. Today was a slightly different type of day since she knew she had to go talk to one of the teachers that ran the support studies department. An old friend and a very....close...friend. Tsubame was dressed in her usual nice purple blouse with slightly baggy training pants. She wore simple slip on shoes that fit snug since she did alot of moving around. Over all of that she wore her long sleeved long black sweater that had her sleeves rolled up. She got hot easily, but she didn't want to take a chance on the weather giving her a cold. The last thing she needed was to slow down and let her responsibilities pile up. Kuro had stayed in her office today, something that she often does on rainy days. Lazy cat....then again....all I want to do is nap today too. Was Haru-kun right? Am I really just a cat in a human body? Her mind wandered to an old friend from UA again, she had many, as her hand reached up to touch the support gear around her neck. She had checked it in the morning when she woke up and it was green. However, it had been several hours since then and she could feel the strain on her body from using her quirk to get around campus fast and easily. As if the thought of it turning any color other than green bothered her, she pulled out her phone to check her neck in the mirror. It was yellow.
A long string of french curse words escaped her mouth as she shoved the phone back into her pocket. Remembering where she was, Tsubame bit her lip and looked around to make sure that no students were around. There were none in the building she was in. She was walking towards the classroom that held her long time friend and teacher of the support studies. Hideki. The tech genius that made her head constantly hurt with all the technology that he kept around him. That was his quirk, though. He could charm any machine it seemed to her and she just was in awe over it. Tsubame, raised in almost no technology household, had a best friend that was all about it. At times she got a headache, but most of the time she just let it in one ear and out the other. Silently once more she moved towards his classroom. Her hand automatically moved to the large hip pack around her waist that held her various daily snacks and supplies. She pulled out a rice ball with salmon in the middle. When it came to cooking, Tsubame was a pro. She had to be since her quirk demanded that she eat large amounts of food to compensate for the energy output her quirk had. When asked about it from strangers or fans, she simply said 'she had a big metabolism' which was an easier way to say that her body needed lots of energy. She hoped that in getting this support gear from Haru, she wouldn't have to eat constantly since it was somewhat inconvenient to have to pull out a sandwich in the middle of a parent teacher conference or even in the middle of training since she had to top it off quite regularly in order to prevent another collapse. She may be the vice headmaster, but she wasn't paid that well.
The food felt good on her taste buds, but it sent a sinking feeling in her gut. She hated the fact that she had to eat nearly all the time. It was both a blessing and a curse this quirk of hers. It saved many people in her UA and pro-hero days. If she hadn't had such a durable body and enhanced athletics then the fight with Walter all those years ago would have ended in more than just a week in the hospital. The memory of the fight, the blood and the pain, had made her wince slightly as she came upon the door. Her stomach itched where the four claw scars were. Some memories don't go away that quickly with time.
"Hideki-sensei! Are you in?" Despite their close relationship, she still called him 'sensei' in front of students. Since they were at the school she wasn't sure when or where a kid might pop out of. A school full of hero quirks, you had to be careful at times in quiet. "I need to speak to you about an important matter." Silently after that she still ate the rice ball, finishing it quickly and grabbing another one with tuna in it this time.

[attr="class","currageimg"] [attr="class","currageimg2"] [attr="class","currageimg3"] [break][break][break] [attr="class","curragepost"]Today had been a rather productive day for the head of support studies. A busy one, too. He had already gone over the curriculum for the different students in each year and had to make sure that they each covered an appropriate amount of material. Of course each teacher was free to teach their class as they saw fit, but it was Hidekis job to make sure the students were actually learning something. Reviewing grade scores and averaging out their GPA's was easy but tedious. Oh well. He supposed he could just have POD do it for him, but that would be a bit cheating and not something Tsubame would approve of. He could hear her voice in his head already. "I don't trust that damn machine with my kids!" She'd tell him. Oh well. She was the boss.[break][break] But when he heard her calling at his door he raised an eyebrow and POD began rising from Hidekis desk, hovering in the air. He turned to the POD and nodded. Without a word the small robot flew over to the door that she was knocking on, grabbing the handle and turning it before opening. Hideki was sitting at his desk leaning back in his chair, still reviewing the students scores on the holographic projector in front of him. "Tsubame-san." He replied, a warm smile on his face and welcoming in his voice. "Please, come in." He'd lean forward in his chair, resting his elbows on the edge of his desk and folding his hands together.[break] [break] He was dressed in his usual professional attire. Which, ironically, is what made him stand out the most at UA. He was dressed... normal compared to the other teachers. A simple button up shirt, a black vest over it, with a black tie and slacks with matching shoes. He looked more like a business man than a teacher who dealt with potentially explosive experiments. But it worked for him. When Tsubame entered the room POD would shut the door, sealing off his sound-proofed office. The last thing he needed was a student potentially listening in, not that he thought they'd do that. The POD would return to Hideki, before resting back on the desk. Several chairs were sat in front of his desk, more than enough room for her. "What did you need to speak to me about?"[break]

It did not take long for the door to open to Hideki's office. While she knew that he would be busy, she figured this would be the best time to catch him since she too was busy with her own work; that she continuously kept putting off till the last second due to her constantly being out and about doing the normal things that Vice Headmaster's do. Even though her secretary might kill her one day with the amount of stress she puts her under, nothing will probably change and Tsubame might finally have a nemesis in the form of an angry bespectacled woman that is her secretary. Needless to say, Tsubame tries to make up for it with gift baskets and good coffee. Who knows if that will pacify the woman, but Tsubame remains hopeful. Going on with the meeting she hoped to have, she noticed one of his machines had let her in. She wasn't too keen on them at first, but she grew to just treat them like any other person. They were a part of Hideki, so she would show them the same courtesy she showed him. Waving politely to the machine that let her in, she then turned to Hideki who seemed to be lounging at his desk and working on something. Well, he usually was better at doing homework than I was. Tsubame thought to herself with some amusement. She always knew him to be better at the more administrative activities than she was. After all, they knew each other since they were in UA themselves.
She walked up to his desk but did not sit down. The Vice Headmaster was always moving so sitting was not her favorite thing to do. It's a wonder she was able to keep her quirk under such control as she does now. Due to her training at home in the Shrine and at UA, she was able to at least know her body more than she started out in. At last her yellow amber eyes rested on his face. A small twitch ran up her spine at the look she received from his own yellow gaze. Damn him. A small scoff within her own thoughts was the only tell she had, otherwise she looked the part of a concerned Vice Headmaster. Hideki and Tsubame had a sort of 'secret lovers' type of relationship. Nobody knew but them and Tsubame liked to think they were masters at lying to the rest of the UA staff. She wasn't sure what made her like the men she did, but she figured it was something to do with how they carried themselves. Or the suits. It might have been the suits.
Since the door had closed, she could speak more personally with him. No students and no other teachers were around. "Hideki, I came to see if you would help me with a concern that was raised at the teachers meeting. I know you weren't there, but perhaps you would be willing to help with one of the concerns that was brought up." Quietly she moved her body into it's 'resting' position. She stood with one of her legs relaxed as she leaned mainly on her left leg with her arms folded over her chest. Her head tilted slightly as she remained professional and the perfect image of a Vice Headmaster. Anyone that knew her knew that this was just a mask she kept on and that the real Tsubame was wild and slightly unprofessional. She didn't have to hide herself with Hideki, but considering what she was going to ask him, she had to keep professional through it. "In the incident prior, the teachers were not able to properly mobilize and in some miracle nothing worse happened." Tsubame went quiet at that since she had to deal with fall out from the incident, more so than the other teachers. She knew it came with the job, but she did not have to like it. "What I came to ask you to work on, if you would please, is to beef up the security measures and perhaps add a bit more complexity to them so that the teachers I asked to make a committee to better mobilize will have an easier time instead of flying in different directions. I was not able to protect the school and was instead called to disarm bombs." A self loathing smirk lit her face as she glanced to the side. "Better to have the woman who has a hard time being blown to bits disarm bombs...." While the physical aspects of her quirk were great, she was still able to die just like anyone else. However, those above her tended to think that she could take a beating, so why not a bomb? "That is not the issue, the issue is that we need a harder system in place to protect our students. I will not have my kids in danger again."
She felt a slight burning sensation on her neck as she went to reach up to it. The disk that held the tiny computer in it felt hot to the touch and the jewel seemed to be hot as well. Quickly she reached into her pocket to find her phone and then use the photo option this time to check her neck. The jewel was glowing bright a yellow, then pale green, but stayed yellow and was turning orange almost. Haru what the hell?! Either this thing was malfunctioning or she misjudged her own body. Despite giving Hyousuke the lecture on how support gear would be helpful, she was too annoyed with how it burned her neck to think on the irony. Well, there was one way that Tsubame could fix her body and that would be her usual snacks. Once more she put her phone into her pocket and went to grab another rice ball that had both tuna and salmon in it with avocado as well. She had messed up and only had sugary snacks for a quick pick me up instead of eating right. In between bites she looked at Hideki, not able to hide how tired she was. Sleep did not come well to her lately. "Can I count on you to work on that? If you have any questions, either Walter or myself will be available. You know my phone number."

[attr="class","currageimg"] [attr="class","currageimg2"] [attr="class","currageimg3"] [break][break][break] [attr="class","curragepost"]He could see that glint in her eyes. The one she got when she had to be serious. His smile faded as he thought of the possibilities of why she was here. But considering her serious demeanor there was only one logical solution. The security issue. Hideki had been out of town on a business meeting with some support companies to pitch his students to them in preparation for the upcoming sports festival when the incident had happened. And the mere idea that Tsubame had been sent out to deal with the bombs instead of him infuriated him. If she had made one mis-step, even with her enhanced durability, it was highly possible that she would've ended up a stain on the wall. "I should've been the one taking care of the bombs, not you. I'm sorry." In truth he had nothing to apologize for. After all Walter and Tsubame had approved the trip in the first place.[break][break] Still it bothered him. Just the thought of it was enough to make him angry. But getting angry now wouldn't solve anything. Better to put the energy instead towards bettering the schools security so that it didn't happen again. He sighed and stood up from his chair, sliding his fingers across the wood as he pulled away. "I thought you might come asking about that." He began as he pulled a remote out from his pocket. He aimed it at the holographic projector on his desk, and a 3D blueprint appeared, slowly spinning. "So I began working on this. A security android. Well, several, actually. This is just the first model."[break][break] Overall he figured the specific techno-speak would be far too complex for Tsubame to understand, to he decided to keep it simple. "They're designed with the idea of capturing any intruders alive. I'd give everyone on campus a special tag that emits a signal that the androids could pick up. This signal would identify you as either staff, student, or guest. If the android finds anyone without a tag it will detain them for questioning. And different areas of the school would have different clearance levels. For example someone with a 'guest' tag wouldn't be able to get to a classroom without a staff member escorting them."[break][break] He sighed and scratched the back of his head. "That's the idea, anyway. I'd equip them with capture tools and make them at least as strong and as tough as you. Probably add some mobility thrusters to their backs and legs so they could keep up with faster villains. And a kill switch, naturally, in case something went wrong. Post by Tsubame Takada on Aug 29, 2019 23:12:08 GMT
The serious subject made Tsubame want to squirm. She didn't like being serious so often, but the situation called for it. Everything had been so serious lately. Why couldn't she have a normal conversation with Hideki? Granted, she chose to come here with such serious requests, but she did not have to like it. He took her seriously, which was the normal, and in a way she wished he would pull her--no, she couldn't think about that. School comes first, then personal matters. She thought about what she had to do that day quickly. There was the detentions with Hyousuke. She was sure she was making headway. After Haru's shop and Tsubame got her support gear, he seemed to be doing slightly better. At his apology for not being the one to take care of the bombs, Tsubame raised a hand and waved away his concern. She had already said it was okay for his trip and would not put it against him. Besides, she did know her way around a bomb in some ways. Once she was told the specifics of the bomb, she used her knowledge from UA as well as when she would listen in to Hideki when he explained his machines, she was able to do what she needed to do. That didn't stop her heart from racing each time she found one though. "You have nothing to apologize for, Hideki, it wasn't your call who went and you were away on a trip that was already planned. Besides, i'm in one piece so I consider it a mission success." It wasn't something to laugh at, but how the thought of dying made her feel uncomfortable made her do one of those nervous chuckles. Her hands rubbed at her shoulders in a calming gesture.
She listened intently as he explained what he had started on. Robots. Why more robots? Oh mon Dieu, I should not complain when he is helping keep the school safe. Tsubame chastised herself in her own head, keeping her expression neutral all through it. The idea would be sound, but it all sounded like it would make the school into a less free place than it was. When she went to UA it was a place to be free to work on your quirk and become the type of hero you wanted to be, not be escorted by robots. Tsubame bit at her thumb in her thoughts, mixed with both for and against what Hideki was telling her. Hey yellow eyes scanned the blueprints that he brought up with serious concern and intrigue. Still though, the idea did give more pros than cons. She trusted Hideki to make inventions that would benefit the school rather than hinder it. This would also be something she would have to bring forth to Walter at some point in order to get the second okay. Would Walter go for such a plan? Perhaps she should make him dinner to ease him into the conversation; a feast of all his favorite dishes she has made so far. ".....I am with you on this idea so far, but I am concerned the students would not be. I don't want to make them uncomfortable with the added security, after all." Tsubame fell silent again with her thoughts as she thought about the other teachers thoughts on it too. This would help bring more bodies to the table when it came to protecting the school and not spread the teachers so thin like last time.
"If you used me as a model, would the machines be able to move as fluidly? They would need to be able to adapt to situations as they come." The more she thought about this, the more tired she felt. She had already finished her two rice balls and reached into her pack again for another one, only finding sandwiches full of proteins and energy building nutrients. The one she pulled out was a stuffed to the gills peanut butter sandwich with lots of sliced bananas in it. One of her favorites her mom used to make her when she was low on energy as a kid. Hastily she stuffed her face while still looking over the blueprints with interest, still thinking it over. Once she chewed a few times of her mouthful, she swallowed quickly. "It's not just me that would need to approve this. Walter as well. The school board be damned with their budgets...." Sandwich still in hand, she walked over to one of the chairs in front of his desk and sank within it's slightly comfortable seat. A hand reached up and moved over hear forehead while she still ate her sandwich. The strain she felt in her body was slowly subsiding, but she still felt tired. "Why did this have to happen, Hideki? I thought we were safe, and even with Walter and I leading everyone we still ended up in such disastrous circumstances. I put my kids in danger with my naive attitude towards the safety of UA."
