Kaito wore his school uniform, a black blazer with black trousers and his black boots. A common uniform even in this day and age, even if it sometimes had to be modified for certain students. Still, here he was, at the entrance of UA Academy for Heroes. He had his visitor's pass around his neck on a lanyard. He also had his trademark headphones, and his white hair covering his right eye. The place was known for its security. And here his adoptive mother wanted him to meet her in the school's conference room. For some unknown reason. The smol bean of a child had already left all his school supplies at his new, and hopefully last, home. He didn't bring Kuro with him...though maybe he should have. Taking a deep breath, he started to walk in. After passing the threshold, nothing. So he figured maybe it was safe to continue on.
The school grounds were huge! Much larger than he expected. He found the array of dorms for each class, the various training grounds, and explosions and even classes still going on, and even a few normal things for every school, like a basketball club, kendo club, and so on. So far, he'd gone unnoticed, thankfully, but that wasn't going to last long. Kaito really needed to hurry up and find the damn room. While he remained stoic, he was definitely lost. Not that he'd admit it. The place was like a maze, where every hallway looked the same...

[googlefont="Open Sans"] [googlefont="PT Sans"] CRANK UP THE VOLUME AND WAKE UP THE NEIGHBORS aRE YOU HEARING THIS OR WHAT? Some creatures walked to get where they were going. Some slithered along the ground. Some crawled. Some swam in the water and others flew through the sky. Emiko on the other hand. Well Emiko was different. As far as it was aware there was only one other being on the planet that was like it. And that one was on the other side of the world living a relatively quiet life in a small shack in the countryside. On the other hand the sentient ball of semi fluid that called itself Emiko was in the heart of Japan and had ambitions of one day becoming a hero. It had a rather interesting form of locomotion as it made its way through the halls of the school known as UA.
At some point or another Emiko had learned the basic layout of the school. It knew how to get from it’s classes and it’s dorm room without ever having to see or hear anything. A large advantage when being in its natural form meant that it only had the sense of touch at its disposal. And so when classes got out for the day Emiko had reverted from the female student form it had decided to take for the day, absorbing the uniform it wore into its body before bouncing out of the class. In a way it looked like the typical JRPG slime type of monster as it hopped out of the classroom. Counting carefully in its head Emiko bounced down the halls, not really sure of what might be going on around it.
Most people in the halls at this time were used to seeing the strange blue blob hopping around the halls and simply made way for it. It had been a whole week since Emiko had actually bumped into someone, in fact. All in all it was a good record, though the slime creature somewhat wished it could run into someone. perhaps it could meet someone interesting, or cute. If the thing had blood, or an actual nose, it might have gotten a slight nosebleed as it imagined the wonderfully borderline H scene that could occur if it could transform itself just right while running into someone.
Perhaps it was this distraction or perhaps it was simply because the person it ran into wasn’t aware of the blue gel like being. In either case Emiko found itself hitting head on into the form of some kind of person as it energetically bounced around a corner. Of course due to the relative density between Emiko and a normal human it more than likely wouldn’t be able to knock down anyone unless they were a small child. That didn’t seem all that likely.
Seizing the opportunity before it Emiko’s body began to change. The transformation was rather rapid, as it had practiced for many years. The blue semi globular slime quickly stretched and reformed into a more humanoid shape. The clothing that had been safely bundled up inside it’s body moved and popped out until it was wearing the standard UA uniform. As soon as that had been done color came to Emiko’s form as she quickly created the imitations of the organs that would give her the four senses that she just previously lacked. Forming in a sitting position on the ground she looked up at the person who she had ran into, expecting to have a bit of fun by messing with another UA student.
Instead what she saw in front of her was… not another student. Or even a teacher. Instead it looked like someone in a rather bland school uniform that a lot of other schools in Japan used. It reminded her of the one she used to wear in middle school. But the question now was what someone who wasn’t a UA student was doing here. Quite a strange thing to come across indeed. Tilting her head to the side Emiko looked the boy over for a half a second before she noticed the visitor pass around his neck. “Interesting,” she said while bouncing up from the ground in a way that could only be described as unnatural, “the plot thickens!”

Kaito stumbled back as something hit him in the chest, barely able to catch himself since he was so smol. He looked just in time to see a standard, blue JRPG slime turning into a human girl. With blue hair and gold eyes that matched his own. She tilted her head and looked him over, almost making him feel like a piece of meat. But her eyes seemed to have settled on his visitor's pass. She then spoke with a pleasant voice, and bounced up...in a way that would put most other people in the hospital, while exclaiming that the plot thickens. What plot? His face showed his confusion.
But he had to say something. "You would make a good first or mid-tier boss in a game...no one would expect a slime spy in their party..." He loved video games. And had a few standard JRPGs where slimes were the standard low leveled enemies and weak. The white haired boy couldn't help but wonder if one would break the mold and make a slime be a mid-tier boss or something. Still, he tried to shuffle around her. "S-sorry for bumping into you..." He apologized a bit shyly. The middle school student even blushed a little bit for being so inattentive. "I was looking for the conference room...so if you'll excuse me..." He typically didn't like people. Or the few he didn't mind were often small children or adults whose minds never went completely into adulthood. But there was a small part of him that wanted to get to know this slime person...

[googlefont="Open Sans"] [googlefont="PT Sans"] CRANK UP THE VOLUME AND WAKE UP THE NEIGHBORS aRE YOU HEARING THIS OR WHAT? It wasn’t often that Emiko saw a visitor on campus. Especially not one who looked like a student. Perhaps he was some prospective hero who had managed to get a tour of the place. Though then the question would be where would his tour guide be? UA was a huge campus and one could easily get lost. Or perhaps he was the sibling of one of the students here, or the child of a teacher. Either one would be an interesting development for sure.
“Excuse me! I’m not mid tier boss!” Emiko said, with a rather theatric though obviously mock tone of indignation, “I’ll have you know that I’m here to be a good guy, not some pawn of the evil overlord!” A few students around them did cast sideways glances at Emiko, though by now she was well known in these halls for causing one scene or another and most simply ignored what she was doing. Not that either way bothered her. She was pretty used to being stared at. Considering the years she spent as a translucent blue person odd glances were abound even in a world filled with strange looking people that didn’t stop more “normal” people from staring at something they’d never seen before. It was human nature or something like that.
“Hey, woah woah woah!” Emiko said as the boy seemed to try and cut their cutscene short. Now that just wouldn’t do. Not now that Emiko was interested in what was going on here. Plus, she had a duty to help make sure this school was safe after all. Or at least that’s what she told herself. “You can’t just bang a girl like that and then bail,” she said rather loudly while putting herself directly in the boy’s path, “at least, it would be incredibly rude if you did. At least introduce yourself. Here, I’ll go first even.”
Jumping back Emiko put her hands on her hips and a wide grin on her face. In a move that was evocative of some kind of J-pop star she spun around on a single foot while bringing her hands up and making a dual piece sign. “I’m Eimko Mc’Taggart, and I’m not a bad slime, slurp!” she said, making a rather wet sound as she spoke that final word. Standing up a bit straighter she stepped forward again and held out a hand, “I’m a second year student here in the hero course, I could help you find the conference room!”

She was...quirky to say the least. Overly dramatic. But funny nonetheless. What surprised him more was that none of the other students were paying much attention to him, with his light brown skin and bright colored hair and eyes, he usually attracted at least a little bit of attention, even more so since he was a middle school student. Still, she was aiming to become a hero, so perhaps what he said was a little rude. A good guy slime would be an interesting concept though. And in reality too.
She stopped him and made a comment that could be misinterpreted in so many ways. Kaito even raised a white eyebrow at that. She was...incredibly eccentric. But the fun kind of eccentric. He took Emiko's hand nonetheless. "Kaito Takada. Middle school student and recently adopted by Tsubame Takada, the vice headmaster here...and I don't have a fun or inappropriate catchphrase to throw back at you, sorry, Emiko-senpai." After the shake, he would follow her towards the conference room. But might as well get to know her a little bit. Especially since she seemed like a fun person.
"Do you mind if I asked a few questions? Like about you...you seem to be eccentric...but the fun kind of eccentric person..." He rubbed the back of his head and looked away. In a kind of cutesy way, especially since he was so smol. But then again she was also about as small as he was, just maybe a little bit lighter due more to being a slime than anything.

[googlefont="Open Sans"] [googlefont="PT Sans"] CRANK UP THE VOLUME AND WAKE UP THE NEIGHBORS aRE YOU HEARING THIS OR WHAT? “Adopted? By the vice headmaster?” Emiko asked, though it was clear she wasn’t looking for any kind of answer as she quickly continued on her train of thought, “with the cool hair color and the dark skin you’ve got like at least three criteria to become a protag. Maybe a streak of color though would make it even more obvious. Like a lightning bolt or something!.... No wait, that might be copywritten or something. Don’t want to get sued for looking too much like a different protagonist. And usually protags have a cool name. Like… using different kanji and stuff to make a name that basically means overpowered badass. But I guess you could always cover that with a good hero name so no worries there.”
As the rather eccentric girl went about her rant she rubbed her chin in thought and paced back and forth rather rapidly. Rather than turning herself around like a normal person though she simply walked backwards and then forwards again, each time turning her head a full hundred and eighty degrees to face the direction she was walking, as well as doing the same with her arms, making them bend backwards though the hands remained correct, making for a slightly unsettling sight.
Stopping dead in her tracks when Kaito spoke again she turned to face him once more, her head turning around fully about three times before it stopped and faced forward like a normal one. Cocking her head to the side and raising an eyebrow at him she pointed a finger at his face. “That’s not a question!” she said in a tone that emulated a famous lawyer from a video game series named after said lawyer protagonist, “But if you’re asking why I’m this way. Well I would say it’s just a quirk of mine...” Emiko paused as she let the pun sink in, hearing an audible groan from another student who was passing by, “but really I was like this before I got all slimy. I can’t really say if it’s like ADD or if it’s just because I’m not used to being stuck in a chair all day. I mean don’t get me wrong I wouldn’t mind being tied down, just as long as there were some fuzzy handcuffs involved.”

She...rambled a lot. And she was slightly perverted, but it didn't bother him at all. Afterall, he tended to skinny dip a lot, and slept in the nude. And usually didn't care if others saw him in all his glory. He even usually forgot to put on at least underwear when he leaves the shower or his room. Still, he had to comment on the protagonist part. "Pretty sure I'd be rejected as a protagonist due to the fact that I turn into a mythical monster when I flex my powers..." He was scary when he transformed. A water demon like creature. Some people called him a Kappa even. Though from what he's read about that particular creature, he looked nothing like one. He could certainly act like one if he so chose.
Fuzzy handcuffs...well, if she was interested, maybe eventually. "Maybe eventually, though Tsubame might have an issue with that. Anyways, it was more about your quirk. Most transformations aren't based on typical rpg villains or monsters like that. What else can you transform into?" Her body was so malleable too. Trying to hurt her would be a nightmare for most villains, and probably most students as well if or when they had to take her on in an exercise or something. He wasn't even unsettled about how she was able to turn her head or anything. A mutation type quirk like this was truly a spectacular sight to see...and good inspiration for a movie or TV series...he had no doubt she could be a good hero one day. Eccentrics and all. He wasn't so sure if he could be one himself, though.

[googlefont="Open Sans"] [googlefont="PT Sans"] CRANK UP THE VOLUME AND WAKE UP THE NEIGHBORS aRE YOU HEARING THIS OR WHAT? “You kidding me? That makes it even better! Bonus points if it’s like some kind of black shadow demon that gives people nightmares!” Emiko said while holding up her hands in a claw like fashion only the tips of her fingers suddenly became rather sharp and changed to a bone white in color. “I mean. It used to be super cool and subversive to give the protagonist some kind of demon like power but now it’s just been done so much it’s basically a trope of it’s own.” Shrugging slightly she changed her hands back to their more normal human shape.
“Uh...well. I can change some stuff. Like I can change into a boy if I want. But the way you saw me earlier is actually my normal form. It takes a bit of focus to keep this shape,” Emiko said while gesturing to her body, “If I really focus hard then I can make myself generally into other shapes and such. I’ve been practicing recently being able to imitate people. Like copy their appearance and such. It could definitely come in handy and all that. But right now I can still do some cool stuff. Like this.” On que Emiko’s hair suddenly shortened and turned into a shade of bright blonde. Her skin tone darkened rather noticeably until she looked like she had a rather obvious fake tan. The nails at the ends of her fingers suddenly changed into a neon shade of green and lengthened. In what was a short instant she had suddenly taken on the appearance of a typical gyaru girl. “Pretty good for, like disguises and stuff. Only thing I still gotta figure out is like how to imitate clothes. Then I’ll be set.” As she spoke she took on a bit more of a “basic bitch” sort of tone. While Kaito would be pretty right in the fact that her maluable form would make her difficult to deal with in combat for most villains or other students, she also wasn’t all that great at hitting back. But that wasn’t Emiko’s stick. She was far more of the sneaky sneaky kind than the hitty hitty stabby stabby kind of hero. Or hero in training more accurately.

Well, while she found it cool, he had to comment on it, though it was a bit more light than what he would normally respond with. "Actually, a water demon. Some have even called me a kappa...but more terrifying. My jaws and claws can probably tear a car apart. But keep me in water or unleash me when it's raining. But that is true. Though for a little bit it had gone away. Though that didn't last too long. But then overpowered protagonists thrust into a different world became a norm..." And that was every bit as tiring of a trope as what she had mentioned. Still, he couldn't see himself being real popular as a hero, not like that was what was important for a hero. What was important was doing what was right.
It was interesting to hear. So, she could be a good espionage specialist, dismantling villain groups and organized crime from the inside if given time. It was a useful quirk. "What about in combat? I'm sure you're not a combat based hero, but I can't help but think that hurting you would be incredibly difficult at best. Heroes can't always escape combat, even rescue specialists." He also somewhat wondered what made her decide to become a hero in the first place. She didn't come from a hero family, nor did her quirk manifest like a typical mutation quirk from what she said. It was all very curious. And she seemed perfectly fine to answer any of his questions so far.

[googlefont="Open Sans"] [googlefont="PT Sans"] CRANK UP THE VOLUME AND WAKE UP THE NEIGHBORS aRE YOU HEARING THIS OR WHAT? Emiko simply shrugged at what the boy said. He obviously didn’t think to highly of himself in whatever cool demon water monster form he was describing. Though when he mentioned a kappa she was rather confused on what that might mean as she hadn’t ever heard that word used to describe any kind of monster. In fact the only place she’d heard the term before was the name of an emote on a big streaming site. “Kappa?” she asked while tilting her head to the side. While she did look rather japanese in her facial features her last name would easily give away that she was at least half forigen.
“Combat. Yeah I’m not all that great at dishing out any kind of damage. Not having a solid bone in your body can make that pretty difficult,” Emiko said as she bent the fingers on one of her hands entirely backwards just to prove a point. As her hand went back to normal she suddenly changed back to her normal lighter skin and blue hair. In her mind she imagined a pop sound effect. If this were an anime that’s definitely the sound effect she would use for it anyway. “On the plus side though it’s pretty hard to do any kind of damage to me. Punches, kicks, swords, knives, guns. All pretty much do nothing. Unless you could hit me hard enough to actually cause me to actually splatter and split apart, but I’ve never run into anyone who can hit that hard. Just as long as I’m not against someone with like ice or fire powers I’m good. Ice freezes me into a block and fire… uh… boils me,” Emiko paused and a visible ripple went up her body and she shivered at the thought of it, “Electricity forces me back to my base form but I can still move around and stuff in that form. Kind of tingles.”

She seemed confused on what a Kappa was. But she was only partially Japanese, and hadn't lived here all her life, either. "A mythical creature that lives in rivers. Depending on the legend, it likes to either munch on male genitalia or suck out a mythical organ in the anus of people. And is strongest in the water." Granted, he didn't have a dish on the top of his head when he was using his quirk, nor did he like cucumbers. Or vegetables in general.
So, defensively, she was a good choice to protect someone. With such few things actually being able to do anything to her. Though he did shiver at the thought of boiling to death right alongside her. That did not sound pleasant in the least. It was a pretty cool quirk, wrapped up in a cool enough person. He did have one more question though. "Last question...in your slime form...what about your senses? That was never explained at all. How slimes ever knew what was going on around them or anything." Only thing he could figure out was the sense of touch. Even eyes on JRPGs or any other kind of RPG that featured the creature, the eyes seemed mostly cosmetic more than anything.
When he was using his quirk, really all he could do was hear, see, and even speak underwater no problem. No other enhancements to his senses.
Maybe Tsubame wouldn't mind if he invited Emiko-senpai for a night of gaming? He hoped that wouldn't be a problem...aside from some lewd jokes, she wasn't bad to be around at all...

[googlefont="Open Sans"] [googlefont="PT Sans"] CRANK UP THE VOLUME AND WAKE UP THE NEIGHBORS aRE YOU HEARING THIS OR WHAT? “Well that doesn’t sound like fun,” Emiko said with wide eyes at the description given to her of a Kappa. She much preferred the online use of the word where it was meant to convey some form of sarcasm. “I mean, I get the appeal of sticking it in your mouth but usually you’re not supposed to be doing any kind of munching,” she said while opening her mouth and suddenly making her teeth comically sharp and pointy as though to emulate an angler fish, as that was probably the ugliest water dwelling creature she could think of and also imaging biting things that shouldn’t be bitten.
Emiko tilted her head when Kaito asked her about her senses. For a moment it seemed rather straightforward to her after all she had spent the majority of her life getting used to it. While it seemed natural to her other’s still had no idea what it was like. “Oh yeah. No I can only feel stuff. No eyeballs or ears or anything. If I want to be able to do that stuff I gotta create the organs to do it,” she said while pointing to her ears and eyes. Suddenly her entire tone changed as her normally animated body language settled down and her tone became oddly serious.
“It was kind of scary at first. It happened while I was asleep so I just woke up one morning and it was nothing. I couldn’t see, couldn’t hear, couldn’t smell or taste. I knew I was probably still in my bed but I didn’t feel like me. Couldn’t tell one part of me from any other. For a while I wondered if I had died or something and this was what the afterlife was,” Emiko’s eyes lost some of their color, quite literally as they became a far more dull yellow compared to their usual vibrant amber. Shaking her head she seemed to pull herself together though, “Anyway! Enough about that. You were looking for vice headmaster’s office. It should be this way,” she said while grabbing a hold of Kaito’s arm and pulling him in the proper direction, “I should know since I get called to the offices a lot.” There was a bit of pride in that last statement, even though it was usually because she was being reprimanded for “improper conduct.”

Kaito nodded. "I make angler fish look nice." He obviously knew what kind of teeth she was emulating. Though he didn't exactly have a preference when it came to romance...or sex in general. Not that the smol child really thought about it much, despite being of the age where most would find some interest in that.
He found it fascinating that he was right, it was by touch. But more to the point, she had to make the organs to use the other senses. He couldn't imagine the time and effort to figure out how to do that. It was incredible the amount of work she must have went through to do it, especially when it was such a sudden transformation. "That's...horrific...but then...look at the progress you made. Emiko-senpai, you're amazing." His tone took a different approach. It was more admiring of her.
She then chose to change the subject to getting to the right office. Kaito raised an eyebrow at the comment of being there a lot. "How come?" He asked the innocent question. Even tilted his head every so slightly, making him look cute in a way.
