IT WAS TOKYO!!!!! Excitement danced on Kaji's face as his hyperactive eyes jumped from place to place as he skipped happily down it's streets. The sights, the sounds, all of them filled his senses with warm fuzzy feelings as he made his way down the street. Given the usual denizens that inhabited the area, Kaji was hardly that much of an oddity. Given his cat-like features, people usually just thought them to be cosplay initially. That was of course until they saw them move. Upon seeing that, it quickly became clear to them that he was a quirky cat boy! Yup! That's all he was! At least in their eyes. Yet behind his happy demeanor was a man who was actually contemplating the seriousness of today's meeting. His connection had advised him of someone who could hook him up with the equipment he sought which of course was great. But presently he couldn't help but feel like things were actually starting to become real. Entering the cafe that his contact had told him to go, Kaji was instantly greeted with the fresh smell of coffee. The place was bustling with both life and noise which actually served to make their conversation quite a bit harder to overhear. Standing by the door for only a few seconds, Kaji took a glance around at the tables layout before proceeding for the one all the way in the back. The booth was empty but that was fine. He had been shown up rather early after all. Taking a seat in the booth with the back of his head facing the door way, Kaji wasn't really worried of trying to watch out for the guy he was supposed to meet today. Conventional wisdom dictated that he REALLY should have, but comon! He was in a coffee shop! In the middle of Akihabara! What was there to worry about!?~

Yukimura stood in the doorway, staring at Kaji as she slowly sipped from a cardboard cup of tea. Dammit. Nobody told her he had a cat quirk—she wouldn't be able to focus for the whole meeting. At least she hadn't worn her sweater with the kitten on it. Instead she was wearing a plain blue sweater, accompanied by a fluffy scarf and a simple undecorated sickness mask. Biting back a sigh, she tossed the cup into the garbage then walked over, taking the seat across from him as she slid a simple non-descript business card across the table.
"Fearwringer" — Repairs, Support Equipment, Costumes
Written beneath was the number of a burner phone she kept for business, and a tidy signature with the same name on the card. She wasn't particularly fond of sharing her real name. As she passed the card, she took the time to examine him, checking for any sort of weapons or signs of hostility. He definitely wasn't what she'd expected.
Clearing her throat, she folded her arms. She was visibly younger than Kaji, probably nineteen at the very most, but her expression was serious. She was used to dealing with villains, some who preferred murder to payment. She'd been told this guy wasn't a villain, but she hadn't survived this long without being cautious. She'd brought a can of pepperspray, as well as her still unused pistol. Of course, fleeing would be the ideal option. The anxiety she felt was only faintly in her expression, for the most part well hidden. "So, I heard you're interested in my business," she said, drumming her fingers against the table.

Ears twitching as he heard someone approaching from behind him, Kaji's happy demeanor remained plastered on his face as his eyes began to narrow. Glancing out the sides of his eyes as his head remained straight, Kaji body went on high alert for a moment until the presence passed harmlessly by and slide down into the seat opposite of him. Instantly turning his usual cheerful aura back on, Kaji put on a bright smile as he proceeded to raise a hand up and greet his new friend. Or so he would have had he not froze and raised a questioning eyebrow. Eyes examining the person opposite of him, the only word that could describe his expression right then and there was confusion. Unwilling to believe what his eyes told him, Kaji glanced down at the card she had slid on over towards him. Sitting quietly for a second as he read it's contents, Kaji closed his eyes and began to nod his head slowly. Alright. So if the card was supposed to be believed, she really was supposed to be his contact. Cool.
...
..
. OR SO HE WOULD SAY IF HE WAS A COMPLETE MONSTER. .

Comon! How the hell was he supposed to accept this!? The girl was OBVIOUSLY way younger than he was! The shady man that he'd met before her was something he could accept because the guy LOOKED like a weirdo! He fit the bill of what he expected to see when he dove into the underworld but this girl? What exactly was he supposed to think when he saw her? What exactly would anyone think when they saw her? He wasn't going to straddle her with his pity however. It was readily apparent that she was well established in the criminal world given that she was purple hair's first contact when it came to equipment, but even if that was the case, this situation was way too fucked up. Peeking open his eyes and stealing another glance at the girl, Kaji couldn't help but sigh as he was again greeted the woman's sight. Burying his face in his hands, Kaji didn't dare look the woman in the eye. Being that he was buying illegal things off what could very well be a high schooler, he couldn't bring himself to meet her gaze. It was way too hard. "Yeah...." Kaji said dejectedly as his hands muffled the sound of his voice. "I......want to buy some things from ya....if ya got 'em."

Well, his cheerful attitude disappeared quickly. Maybe she was starting to look like an actually villain, all intimidating and creepy. Probably Remnant's fault. Or Aya's. Well, it didn't matter too much, this was about business. Yukimura dug around in her bag, pulling out a small, yellow, spiral-bound notebook. She flipped through for a moment before deciding on a page and passing it across to Kaji, turning it so he could see it easily. "Mostly I work off commissions. You tell me what specifically you're working for, I make it. But those are some blueprints of smaller gadgets I've been working on," she explained. There were some simple but useful things, like a small portable EMP generator, as well as more flashy and aggressive things, like an electrically charged baton. The pages were covered in messy notes written in a complicated shorthand, but it was easy enough to make each object and it's purpose out, most clearly labeled. "If any of those catch your eye I have a workshop a few blocks from here where I keep my spare equipment," she added.
While she let him take a look, she glanced over at the coffee shop's menu and made a face. She'd been here before. And while the little muffins in the display case weren't bad at all, she was more frustrated she didn't have the extra money to splurge right now. All the more reason to land this job, right? Trying her best to look serious—or at least as serious as a six foot teenager in a bright yellow scarf could look—she cleared her throats. "So. Any questions."

Taking yet another deep breath. Kaji had no idea how his life had wound up like this. Where did he go wrong? Buying illegal weapons off what was likely a teenager. Could he really drop any lower than this? As for the answer to that question, Kaji had no idea, but for now he'd try and ignore it. While the girl talked about her catalog Kaji worked to gather his willpower. It wasn't until she had wrapped up her short presentation that he'd found it in him to shove his indecision back down inside his guts. Moving his hands from his face, Kaji leaned back in seat as he closed his eyes, focused his mind, and reset himself. Upon reopening them, he cast the girl a friendly smile before shooting her a quick apology. "Sorry about that. I just....needed time to adjust."Letting out another short sigh, Kaji shook his head softly in response to the girl's last statement.
Or so he initially thought for a second before he thought better of his answer and paused. "Actually. Yes. I do." "Y-Y...I...How?" The man asked as his mouth refused to verbalize his question. "I mean. What is a girl like you doing? Like seriously? For a while now I've had to honestly ask myself if this is some sort of sick joke or silly prank. How can someone like you be in such a line of business? You look relatively well adjusted by all accounts and you also look WAY too young. Not to mention, I've seen some bad people before in my line of work but you don't really seem to fit the bill. So yeah I suppose my question is why are you doing something like this?"Now being that Kaji had known the girl for literally less than two minutes, the woman really had no obligation to answer. Yet Kaji couldn't ignore the fact that a little girl such as herself was neck deep in the underworld. The place could taint any soul unbelievably fast yet for someone like her who was apparently a budding arms dealer, Kaji couldn't just sit back and watch her just proceed down a rather self-destructive path all willy nilly. He was sure she had her reasons for being in this line of work, but regardless of what they were he had an obligation as an adult to help her. But like with most things, you could never help a person who didn't want it.

The question made her visibly uncomfortable. The drumming of her fingers stopped, and her gaze remained fixed on the table. It was oddly comforting to find someone so completely appalled at the circumstances she was in. Hell, she hadn't had anyone sound this concerned for her safety in... what, four years now? It made her heart ache. She swallowed, clenching her hand into a fist. "Well. I was training to be a hero. I was alright at it, but I had the heart to make up for the shortcomings, y'know? And then things went south. Nobody wants to hire someone who got expelled from U.A. And I needed money. My family needed money. I met this really nice guy who said he'd teach me how to make things, said I could be his apprentice and such. There was good money in it. Except he turned out to be not such a nice guy. But it put groceries on the table."
She leaned back in her chair and turned to stare out the window, avoiding looking at him. God, it had been a while since she'd told anyone that story. Why did she even bother telling him? Wasn't any of his business. Wasn't anyone's problem but hers. For a moment, an old flame of bitterness inside her flickered, but as usually, it was dampened with exhaustion. "Groceries," she said, making a half-hearted attempt at a laugh. "Isn't that why anyone does anything?" Shaking her head, her fist tightened, as if she held on tight enough she'd be holding the hand of someone long gone. "Now. Tragic backstory out of the way. I'm not made of time, so do you want to buy something or not?"

Well okay.
Shifting uncomfortably in his seat, Kaji lowered his eyes.
After hearing her story, all was clear to him now.
"That's....that's......" He began quickly as he voice began to pick up in volume.
"THAT'S SO SAD!" He exclaimed as tears began to form in the corner of his eyes.
Bringing his arm up to wipe away at the moisture Kaji couldn't help but bawl his little eyes out.
How could he have not seen it before honestly?
...
..
.
SHE NEEDED GUIDANCE!
And not just any guidance! She needed HIS guidance! Eyes raised as they stared towards the young woman with renewed passion, Kaji knew exactly what he needed to do for the girl. He needed to correct her ways and show her that there existed others ways for her to survive in this world! "And you've been doing that all this time!? You're such a good girl!!!!!" He practically yelled as sparkles practically twinkled around him. Though she had been dealt a rather bad hand she didn't seem too far gone to recover! No! On the contrary, she hadn't looked like she had dipped more than a toe into the pool of the life she lived. She seemed fairly normal by all accounts! Given that Kaji had been an avid fighter against people who lived in the underworld, he'd seen all sorts of types that existed within the underbelly of society. Crazies, passionate villains, disingenuous types, and a whole slew of other despicable people that had no limit to amount of tags Kaji would've placed on them. Yet this girl was clearly different. She was disheartened, sure. But that was about the extent that he could derive from her in the five minutes that he'd known her. Once set on a proper path, Kaji had not a single doubt in his mind that this young lady could once again be a productive member of society! But how to do? That was indeed the question...
WHELP!There wasn't any point pondering about it right now! Besides! Given that he usually just let things work themselves out, he figured that he would eventually get an idea about how to handle the girl's matter! Or so he hoped! But that aside, it was time to order things. Coughing once as he changed both his demeanor and air around him, Kaji figured that he'd pried enough into the girl's life and that it really was about time they got down to business. "I'm totally gonna be sad thinking about your circumstances for the rest of the day, but yeah I'm definitely interesting and purchasing some stuff."
"In particular..." Kaji began slowly as he picked up the book in front of him and started to flip through it. "I want something non-lethal."
"Something like this." He said as he lowered the spiral back down and pointed to the stun baton she'd mentioned earlier.
"This would probably be good but just to make sure, are you positive that this won't permanently harm someone?" He questioned with a cat-like smile at the accidental pun he'd just made in relation to the electric weapon. "I'll probably need a lot more heavy duty things in the future, but for now something like that will suffice."
"About how much will that run me though?" Kaji asked rather innocently hoping that the price wasn't too extravagant. Given that the purple pedo man he'd met earlier practically told he needed to give him his first born in return for his services, Kaji was trying to be a tad more frugal in his purchases.

Why did she always get the weird clients? Yeah, it was kind of nice to hear someone acknowledge ‘hey that sucks’, but the drama was... a little much. Pressing her mouth into a straight line, she leaned back in her chair, still not sure what to make of this guy. It was a relief to get back to thinking purely through logic, focused just on equipment.
“Yeah. Non-lethal weapons are trickier than lethal ones—you can’t solve it by packing more punch, you gotta balance it,” she said, taking his selection in with a grin. “While I was designing this one I had to keep buying these huge boney sides of beef from the butcher so I could test them down to a safe point, but eventually I hit the sweet spot! No permanent damage while still packing enough shock to make it viable in combat. And it doesn’t have any spindly pieces, so you can use it as a bludgeoning weapon when you forget to charge it,” she explained, obviously in her element now that they had moved past feelings and back into gadgets.
At the mention of pricing, she drummed her fingers on the table, mentally crunching the numbers. It was tempting to inflate the price and get an extra few packets of microwave ramen out of the bargain, but hey, there had to be a little honor among thieves. “It’s one of the easier ones to make, and it should be cheaper since I’m not designing it from scratch. Don’t have any on hand, but I can get it to you in a week for 5000 yen. 8000 to get it done in two days. That work for you?”

With his head spinning as the girl began to seem more comfortable about talking about her devices rather than herself, Kaji tried his best to keep up with what she was saying. Nodding with an interested expression as she began to finer details, Kaji honestly couldn't even begin to evaluate how much work went into developing such a device. Prior to meeting the girl, he would have one hundred percent assumed that she likely imported the gear from an out of country provided. Yet considering he'd gotten to know her, he knew that this wasn't the case. The girl spent quite a lot of time and effort on trying to develop the stuff she sold. Meaning like how she stated before...she did her best to make a living. Seeing her being so lively about something that shouldn't have made her excited made Kaji feel a bit guilty on the inside. Given how she seemed to enjoy her profession, Kaji wasn't sure if he was correct in judging her way of life. Even if it wasn't the most honest living one could make, she was doing the best she could. She wasn't entirely jaded, blackened, or dead on the inside. No....she wasn't any of those things. But she did seemingly try her best. Which meant that it was wrong for him to try and impose his own values onto her. Swallowing back several things that he wanted to ask her, Kaji instead decided to simply smile at the young woman before flashing his pearly whites at her. Going along with the conversation, Kaji's soft smile remained plastered onto his face up until the point at which she mentioned the price. It was apparently five thousand yen. Or fifty dollars in united states buckoroos. Blinking at the girl for a few seconds with an expression devoid of emotion, Kaji could feel himself dying slowly on the inside. Eyes shifting slightly downwards, the two dark pupils glanced at the location that housed his wallet before his mind started to wonder at exactly how much money he presently hard. Given that he had paid Marionettist practically everything he had on him, he was running kind of low on funds. He had just about enough to pay for the Cafe but any more than that was quite a bit of a stretch. With his mind racing as he tried to think of some way to meet the girl's price, Kaji paused for a second before an idea flashed in his mind. "Alright so....I'm gonna be straight up with you." Kaji explained with a weak smile as he let out a small sigh. "I don't exactly have that kind of money on me...""BUT!" Kaji tacked on rather quickly with a raised single finger as emphasis. "I do know how a way I could get it! I'll just need a little help with the job...."...
..
.
"If you're up for it of course!~" Kaji added with a convincing smile and reassuring tone.
"Plus if we're successfully i'll be able to pay you more than requested!~"
