Fu was sleeping again, the quiet beep of the heart monitor. While doctors thought she really did not need it, the nurse that revived her disagreed. She feared that she would flat line again and if no one was there to notice it, she would be vulnerable. As the monitor beeped along to Fu's heart beat, someone sat next the girl's bed. Her hand held Futaba's hand, creating a little nest for it. Little objects floated around, including a small seal toy and a get well card from some family friends. The woman looked somewhat like Fu but with a few key differences. Her hair was not as dark and her eyes were more vibrant compared to Fu. She had been taking her daughter a few days since Fu's diagnosis. She had arrived as fast as she could, as fast as her wheel chair allowed it. Seeing her daughter struck down like this made the woman's heart sink. She recently had her own issues and when Futaba went off to hero school, Ai (Fu's mother) could not be more proud. Her little girl wanted to be a hero but now she was bed ridden because of a disease that had been hiding in her for years. With her free hand, Ai was communicating with her son. Writing a quick text, she closed Fu's phone. "Fu is sleeping but she'll probably wake up when you're there. She can sense you after all." She sighed a bit, putting down the phone on the little table besides the hospital bed. She sure hoped Ryuusei coming would help Fu recover at least a bit, even if it's just mentally.

Conflicted. That was the best word for this situation since Ryuusei had long since known of his sister's condition. Being that he was out and about gallivanting as a hero in training, Ryuusei had come to find out what had befallen his sister due to their parents informing him. He had planned on visiting much earlier since he would have liked nothing better than to cheer his little sister up as he was more than confident in her ability to beat whatever was ailing her. And then it came out. Just before he was scheduled to see her. His sister. Well. She had cancer. When Ryuusei had found out, he felt his body go numb as the phone in his hand slipped from his fingers and crashed onto the floor. The screen had cracked and the casing had chipped, but that mattered little to the stoic man whose eyes seemed to glaze over while they stared ahead.
Time seemed to stop for him both then and there.
What happened over the next few weeks blurred for Ryuusei who simply proceeded to do the bare minimum of his obligations. Thoughts of visiting his sister ceased as the man found that he couldn't bring himself to entertain the thought of seeing her in the state she was likely in. Only after his mother had pretty much told him that he needed to come did Ryuusei actually manage to drag himself to the front of the hospital. He knew her room. He knew her floor. It was just a short walk and ride up the elevator and he would be there. Steeling his heart, he walked inside and did just that as he rode up the metal box to the girl's floor. After being pointed to the girl's room, he gave a light knock on the room that had been specifically reserved for his kid sister. Given their family's stature, it hadn't taken more than phone call he bet for their parents to set it up. Waiting a moment to allow those inside the chance to ready themselves for their arrival, Ryuusei pushed open the door as he entered the room.

The woman's ears perked up at the knock. Raising her hand, she was tempted to open the door using her quirk but she did not want accidentally break some medical equipment. She was not out of practise per say but she never knew how her quirk would interact with medical equipment. Temporally letting go of her daughter's hand, Ai rolled her way to the door. Opening the door, she gave her son a small smile before rolling back to her daughter's side. Lightly tapping Futaba's hand, she whispered softly.
"Fu-chan...Ryuusei is here." She repeated the phrase a couple times before sighing a bit. Futaba was tight asleep as usual. Turning to her son, she gestured at her sleeping daughter.
"She's been like this for a good while now. Always tired...I've been helping her get through some school work, to help her feel normal but she always tired. I know some of it is the medication but eh." She shrugged a bit, giving her a daughter a down trodden look. Making sure she was asleep, she made her voice a little more hushed.
"Do you mind closing the door? I want to talk to you about what can happen to Fu..." Ai felt uncomfortable talking about her daughter's health. Fu wanted to avoid the question, often just ignoring the question. It was annoying but she knew that when she got injured, Fu did not eant to talk about Ai's injuries either. One of the things Ai was concerned about was that Fu rarely expressed her feelings about situations. She did not know why but she had some ideas. None of them concrete.
