Jun got him in a strangle hold! But not as entirely effective as he'd hoped. Hyousuke had managed to get part of his arm caught as well, allowing him to breath. A literal stalemate. Jun resisted to keep his legs locked, and while there was some success in Hyousuke lifting the lighter boy up, Jun had leverage, and used that to keep them down. If quirks were allowed, he'd be electrocuting the boy, but sadly, this was becoming a battle of endurance. And that was something that he wasn't going to win. What he was thinking was risky, and it would leave him vulnerable in two ways...but he had to do something. Unlocking his legs, he rolled off the arm. And twisted in a crouch, turning on a dime to face the larger boy. Depending on if the guy was still on the ground, in a crouch, or all the way up, Jun's actions would vary.
If still on the ground, he'd leave him be.
If in a crouch, he'd aim a roundhouse kick to the side of Hyousuke's face. Hopefully stunning him long enough put him in a better hold so he couldn't fight back.
If Hyousuke was already standing, a big right hook to the ribs, followed by a grab to the arm and a forced trip to again put Hyousuke down.
Problem with both of those latter options was that if the first strike was big and easy to see...and easily countered. That was Jun's worry. It would be the first time he let a true opening be seen.

WORD COUNT 233
| There was a brief moment when Jun released Hyousuke that he lost his balance - as much as he could, given that they were on the floor. His arm had been pushing out against the leverage that Jun had, so when it was released so suddenly, h e couldn't stop it flying to one side. It was a brief moment of vulnerability, but that split second was enough to leave him open to whatever it was that Jun decided to do. Though he managed to get himself together and make his way back up, the strike to the ribs came a second to soon for him to block.
Hyousuke grit his teeth and prepared to tank it, knowing his one free arm wouldn't be nearly fast enough to block it in time. Though he tried to draw it in, experience taught him that the distance - though it would lessen the impact somewhat - meant he'd just have to grit his teeth and eat it. The kick slammed into his face, and Hyousuke grunted, feeling the impact force his head to the side. It wasn't enough to knock him out - not even close. It was far from the worst he'd gone through and still stood up after. But it still affected him, and left him shaken. He reached out to pry Jun off him, but it was anyone's guess as to whether it'd work or not. |

He was doing something. Slowly, and surely, but Jun's hits were having an affect. But still just kept coming. Some part of him wondered if the guy's quirk was a mutation based one. Still, he held on. But not for long. Jun was thrown off. But the blond was able to go into a couple of flips to recover...at least somewhat. The base of his fingers hurt some...like he pulled them or bent them too far back. That was going to hinder any grappling he'd want to take. Still, he was panting. This guy was a challenge alright, but that should have been expected from a fellow 1-A student. Oh, how he really wanted to use his quirk now. "You know, I'm beginning to think I can't beat you with skill alone. Up to you though, if we keep going or call it a day. I still have some energy left." Where it seemed like this guy had mountains of it, and can take some hits pretty well. Maybe not as well as Daiki, but still well enough for a typical person.
Even if Hyousuke decided to call it quits, he could already hear the spectators murmuring. Draw or not, he proved even against someone larger and stronger than he was that he could hold his own. So long as they didn't have a mountain of energy to burn. If he didn't call it quits, Jun was still ready for a little bit longer before he'd have to call it quits and give Hyousuke the win.

WORD COUNT 233
| Much as he hated to admit it, Jun was right. His opponent was leagues more skilled than he was, and though he wouldn't say it out loud, Hyousuke was sure that he'd be dismantled summarily if it wasn't just a sparring match. However, on the other hand, Hyousuke was as stubborn as a mule. Until his limbs were ripped from their sockets and he was rendered unconscious, he wouldn't admit defeat. They could go at it until the cows came home, and be no closer to deciding a definitive victor. Recognising this, Hyousuke sighed, and nodded.
"Yeah..." He grunted, obviously reluctantly, but doing so all the same. "We'll be here all day if we don't end it." Turth be told, he thought Jun could take it if he just pressed the advantage. Hyousuke, for all his strength, was a terrible grappler, and Jun had him on the floor. It would only have been a matter of time before the smaller of the two had Hyou in a position where his choices were 'remain pinned' and 'admit defeat.' Even if it was being counted as a draw, Hyousuke's pride had taken a hit, and he was forced to hide it. |

Hyousuke seemed very reluctant, but relented that they probably could be there all day. Problem was that wasn't entirely accurate. Jun didn't have the abundant energy that he did. But he still took it as a draw. "I don't know about that, one of us would have to run of energy before then. Still, this was fun. I wouldn't mind a rematch with you. See you in class." With that, he walked over and got a water bottle for himself, and stripped off the safety equipment, putting them in the used section for cleaning. He had enjoyed himself. And the prospect of meeting the guy in the Sports Festival's final section, the tournament, was already getting him hyped for it.
There was still some time left though. So Jun went back to the dorms to shower, and then he was going to start modelling that space station on his computer. He'd been meaning to get started on that...
