The city was big. But it didn’t feel big. It just kept going, around corners she couldn’t see. It didn’t end, but it wasn’t big.
This place, though.
This place was big. The space between the buildings just made them seem bigger. The spaces themselves were bigger. There were entire pieces of city! Not that she had actually been in those yet. Eventually. That was part of being a student.
The scrap of blonde fluff tucked her feet, for now obediently in school-uniform shoes, under her thighs, perched on a bench overlooking a field where people were running. Just running. She had been watching for ages, and they just ran back and forth, or in big circles, or in tight, whirly shapes. Crow had been bored of the sight almost immediately, and gone off to hunt for mice amongst the trees lining the other sides of the field. Quick sat beside her on the bench, lean but imposing with her pointy face and scruffy white coat. Kai had rolled beneath the bench to nap in the shade and occasionally made little snorty dream sounds.
The girl on the bench flicked her ears from side to front, and then again. Then again. She knew why she was here (at least, why she was in this big place and not in the dark corners of the city). She had worked for it. She had had to learn so much, so quickly, to make it work, even with all the help Blue Weaver and the hero’s friends gave her. She was here to be a hero. Like her father, and like Blue Weaver. Become a hero and make things better, the way they should be. And take care of herself and her pack too. Keep them safe... by getting better at handling danger.
Heh. Get into danger to beat up danger. Feral locked her slim hands together and stretched them uuuuppppp over her head, rolling her shoulders and arching her back. Quick glanced at her, and then back to the runners. <Go run?>. The older dog thumped her tail against the bench, pleased with the thought. Quick could outrun pretty much any of them, after all, if she wanted to. So could Kai. Maybe not while he was asleep, although he probably outran everyone and everything in his dreams, the confident bugger.
Feral swung forward and planted one palm on the ground to balance while she smushed the dreaming black dog’s face with the other hand. He didn’t even wake up, just wagged his tail and snorted louder. She smiled, her own tail waving faintly, and then pushed herself back upright with a grunt. Maybe she’d do something when he woke up. Quick could go... but the dogs, at least, were supposed to mostly stick with her. That was part of the agreement. They all had to Behave if Feral was to remain a student here. Technically, they wouldn’t necessarily kick her out because they kicked her pack out... but there was no way she could handle being anywhere without them. She abruptly scuttled sideways to hug Quick and bury her face in the dog’s fur. ”Never leave me,” she whispered.
New places were hard.

Aiya found herself casually walking about the UA campus, to her slight amusement she had yet to run into Keni. Whom she was certain was avoiding her at any cost. It didn't really bother her seeing as Keni supposedly came to UA rather than Shiketsu to distance himself from the Jackson name, but still you'd think that air head would wish his mother good luck on her newest endeavor. Not that she needed, however it would still be nice to have seen her kid at least once. Speaking of kids, Aiya couldn't help but realize that she had also yet to see Kyo around campus. The speedster third year was quite the student from what she heard from his teachers. Still even if she did manage to com across him what would she even say the boy. After all it's not like a he knew about their relations, and she sure as hell wasn't going to tell him. It wasn't her place to single handedly turn this boy's entire world upside down. So with a light sigh Aiya continued strolling through campus.
Continuing on her way the new headmaster of UA would suddenly come across Feral perched on a bench hugging one dog while another rested underneath. While the girl's face was buried in the one dog's fur, Aiya slightly lifted a brow as she took in the scene. From the animals alone Aiya already knew how this was seeing as it was kind of hard to not know who this student was as she had allowed in on conditions. And much like with Quincy this girl was one of the few who's profile she was immediately forced to read as to better be acquainted with her specific situation. Though it was nothing like Quincy's was still oddly unique, though if Jetstream was right in what she remembered which she was pretty certain she was the girl was missing an animal from the herd.
"So, where's the fourth member of this little family?" asked Principal Hedatori as she walked up to the unsuspecting student.

Footsteps. Someone was coming. Two legs, shoes, adult size. For a moment Feral’s mind was dominated by the layout of the space around her, her escape routes and safe places, but she was on campus and campus was secure and all the people here were supposed to be here. Including her. Officially. She exhaled and loosened her grip on Quick’e neck. ”It’s good,” she whispered. ”Calm.” Besides. If she ignored the person walking past, they were most likely to keep walking, not stop and find her all out of sorts and out of place.
Except the person spoke, and not just in some general greeting way. Feral stiffened again before stubbornly relaxing and detangling herself. She twisted to face the woman, one arm still around Quick’s neck in a faint semblance of restraint, or perhaps comfort. This woman seemed familiar. Blue Weaver had shown her pictures of some important people here, to make it easier to recognize them and not be unintentionally rude. Was she one of them? Yes, that fit. Someone important. Someone who knew about her as well. She knew about Crow, so Feral should answer her. For both not being rude to someone important and because of agreements.
”Crow is being a cat, Sensei,” she replied, slowly and formally. The title was still awkward on her tongue, but she couldn’t remember this important person’s name right now and titles were a way around that. A way that important people usually liked, right? ”He is looking for mice.” Oh! Was she maybe worried about one of the pack running off? That could be bad. She’d barely even arrived. She pulled out her phone with the hand that wasn’t around Quick’s neck and opened it to the one app she knew well. ”Over by those trees. He has his collar, see?” The phone screen displayed an over-simple rendition of the nearby paths and field, with two yellow dots in the middle and a third some distance away.” She held the phone out, waiting to see how this important person, the first important person here she had met by herself, would react.

As Jetstream watched the girl it was looking as though the UA student seemed to be quite nervous in her presence. After the girl's little spiel Jetstream began to expel a light chuckle before then responding, "Please call me Jetstream, or Principal Hedatori. No need to be so formal and refer to me as Sensei. Plus that's pretty smart thinking having your animals locked on to a gps that can be tracked with your phone." She wasn't quite use to kid being nervous around her, but seeing as she now worked at the school it seemed that, that was something she was going to have to start get use to. "So tell me how's it going for you and your little family here? Are you guys enjoying UA?" smiled Jetstream as she genuinely hoped that Feral was enjoying herself here on campus. Seeing as after her talk with Quincy, Mrs. Hedatori thought it best for her to go and check on thee other interesting student cases. Just to see where there heads was at and if she needed to offer them help or maybe a pep talk kind of like she did for Quincy. As it was painfully clear that never everyone had the same experience at school and students like Quincy and Feral who either had to go through yell to get in ot had stipulations put on them normally didn't have it the easiest. And so the number six hero figured she'd see how each was fairing, plus it gave her an excuse to step away from the mounting of reading and paper work which seemed to almost be never ending.

Oh good, freely offered names. Now it didn’t matter if she hadn’t remembered, and it probably didn’t even look like she had forgotten. Jetstream. That was easier to remember than names with multiple parts. Hero names were so much easier. And they fit more than longer things given by parents who might never meet the person as anything more than a squishy useless ball of scream and poop.
Feral was not nearly so useless. Or smelly. And this person, Jetstream, recognized that. Feral relaxed slightly, though it was still hard for her tail to be any thing but stiff. Quick just yawned. ”Thank you, Jetstream.” That was the right amount of formality, right? Hopefully. ”They also have radios, so I can call them if they aren’t nearby. Or find out what’s going on. It is much easier like this.” Unlike the change in conversation. It was much more personal now, but this was probably just Small Talk, not actually asking. Right? She didn’t want to answer seriously and then find out that only a one word answer was expected, not again. But what if she gave a one word answer, which wasn’t very true, and Jetstream actually wanted a real answer? And she only had one chance, and there was a time limit. If she took too long then it would look weird regardless.
She would have to guess and just be ready to backtrack. ”It is very different,” she said to cover the little pause, ”but it is good. No trouble.” Especially from them. Hopefully.
