Sigga’s first day of classes was finally over. They were… rather underwhelming actually. She couldn’t just dismiss the rumors of UA being a meat grinder just because her first day went so smoothly though. To be fair, her first classes were strictly theoretical. Wait. No. Her classes weren’t theoretical. They were real. The subjects studied during them were theoretical. Or was it intellectual? Academic? What was the opposite of physical education anyway? Whatever. Not important. The point was that Sigga didn’t have to put in any physical effort to get through the day!
She did have homework though… but that wouldn’t be a problem. It was all pretty easy stuff and most of the lectures were relatively succinct. She’d probably get it all done the morning it was due or something.
The girl walked slowly through the halls, stopping briefly to gaze out the windows. Other students walked past her. Many of them carried umbrellas on account of it raining outside. Sigga hadn’t brought hers. She hadn’t even brought a jacket or vest. With none of her classes having been taught outdoors, she had elected to dress light. Her white blouse adorned with a bright red tie would do little to stop the rain from drenching her. Nor would her academy-provided skirt or the pink mittens she was wearing, but that was okay. Her bag was waterproof so her homework and textbooks would be fine. And besides, getting drenched in the rain was kind of fun.
As her amble finally brought the student to the building’s front doors, she took a moment to double-check that she hadn’t left anything behind in class. Phone? Check. Notes, homework, and textbooks? Check. Ankle monitor? Check. The girl smiled smugly. She had managed to easily pass the device off as some sort of high-tech fitness tracker to her classmates. Using nail polish and masking tape to carefully paint a UA logo on it ended up being overkill as nobody seemed to even bat an eye at the device once she had explained what it was. Sigga had originally planned on just wearing pants to all her classes in order to keep it hidden, but her foresight was calculating enough to know that eventually there would be a class or weather that would call for a different outfit. It was beginning to look like she had left her past behind her one hundred percent.

It had been yet another day and much to her dismay Jetstream found herself still having to go through countless student files. Sure as the new headmaster it was important but the pro hero right now would have much rather be doing just about anything else. Her desk was littered with manila folders luckily some only consisted of a few sheets while others seemed to be day to day memoir. Just who in the hell was in charge of compiling these things? Thought the now saddened headmaster as she found herself slightly slumped over her unorganized desk. Glancing over cutter, which was propped up against the right side of her desk. Jetstream for a split second contemplated unsheathing her trusty sword and slicing up all these student files. Seeing as her only other option was opening her window and letting them blow away, only that would leave to many witnesses. With a defeated sigh Jetstream expelled a long sight before reaching into her back pocket and pulling out her emergency flask.
As she took a swig the already stressed out headmaster would glimpse over at her clock and to her luck classes were just getting out. You see though the headmaster hated having to go over student files there a few that were more mandatory then others. As some warned about the potential danger of a few students who didn't have a hold on their quirks, others pointed out stipulations that some students had to agree to in order to attend and some were just interesting. So far Jetstream had already ended up running into a few of those special cases but there was one that she had yet to meet, and she figured now was a good a time as ever. Especially since it offered her a slight reprieve from the never ending manila folders. Taking yet a another swig the newly appointed headmaster then paged over the intercom system for Sigga Tendo to please report to her office immediately.
Jetstream had no intentions of interrogating the girl, especially seeing as it wasn't her style. But it didn't mean that she couldn't chat with her and see where her head was at. Find out what her goals are, as well as what made her want to become a hero. Maybe offer some advice, who knew where this little impromptu would head. Jetstream was always a hands on kind of person. And when it came to her new position she saw no reason for that change. Looking at her desk the number six pro hero contemplated straightening her desk before Sigga got there but quickly eighty-sixed thee idea before leaning back in her chair and kicking her feet desk as she took one last swig from her flask before shoving it in her desk.

Just as Sigga had made the decision that she was going to walk rather than run through the rain, an unfamiliar voice spoke over the academy’s PA system. She stopped short of the front door, eyes widening in apprehension as her name was called through the announcement. It… probably wasn’t anything bad. She hadn’t done anything… that she recalled…
Screw it! The girl bolted out the front door. It’s not like anyone would have known she heard it anyway.
Her pace slowed as she entered the rain, then she stopped in her tracks. The rain spattered across her from the sky above, each individual raindrop contributing to the grand chorus echoing across her scalp. The girl pursed her lips taking a few moments to stare at the concrete paving the way back to her dorm.
They didn’t call you to the principal’s office to hand out awards. Her own personal experience stated in no uncertain terms that being called into anyone’s office meant that the present situation was about to deteriorate. Though technically it was possible she was being summoned to help clarify some clerical error on her school application or something, the girl was no optimist. In fact, she was decidedly in the camp of the pessimists. The only way you could possibly get through life with your head above water was to assume everything that could go wrong, would go wrong, and you planned accordingly.
Delaying this encounter wouldn’t exactly give her opportunity to prepare for it any better though. She didn’t actually know why she was being called, and knowing the situation was kind of a prerequisite of understanding and preparing for it.
Sigga heaved a sigh, then spun on her heal and walked back into the building. The rain sounded much more distant once the door closed behind her. Well, time to face the music, she thought bitterly.
The teenager took her time making her way through the school. The long fins lining her lower legs seemed to flex nervously as she walked through the halls, past the many students filtering out from the building. Eventually she made it to the designated door, pausing briefly. A few drops of water trickled off her school bag and onto the floor. She rapped her knuckles twice against the door and reminded herself to continue breathing.

Still kicking back in her chair with her foot up on the desk, Jetstream continued to revel in the fact that she was enjoying her break from her second which seemed to be student profiling. Humming to herself the number six hero started to feel a wave of ease and calm suddenly wash over her. After all from the moment she officially got the job it's been mostly paperwork, meetings, fighting to get an american student in to UA, and reading up on student profiles, especially the more eccentric ones. As Jetstream continued to delve deeper and deeper into her relaxed zen state she'd abruptly find herself being pulled out of it by the sound a knocking at her door. Assuming that is was Sigga, as she was the only person Jetstream was expecting. The recently appointed headmaster shouted, "Come in." However even upon knowing that someone was just seconds away from entering into her office the wind hero didn't even attempt to try to conduct herself with a little more professionalism. For she was still leaning back in her chair with her legs crossed which as inappropriate as it was, were still kicked up on her desk. Which in all honesty wasn't faring much better as the desk in question was still littered with a ton of manila folders.
Yes Jetstream was an amazing hero, but from this sight alone many might question if she really was headmaster material. Seeing as one doesn't really translate into the other. Still she was here, she was a bit unorganized and everyone was just going to have to get use to it.

Permission to come in was heard from the other side of the door so Sigga grabbed the door’s handle, turned it, and entered.
Her amber eyes were quickly greeted with the sight of a miniature fortress of manila folders arranged atop a desk, behind which was occupied by a rather relaxed-looking individual. The student quickly took in the scene before her and then filed all the details away in the back of her mind, something to be reviewed at a later date if necessary. Until she understood her situation Sigga’s entire focus would be on presenting the person on the other side of the pile of papers with a carefully planned façade. Never underestimate the enemy.
The bald girl that had just entered the principal’s office looked rather meek. She gently closed the door upon entering, took a couple steps into the room, and stood silently waiting to be addressed. Her mitted hands held her school bag in front of her skirt, looking very much like an unconsciously executed defensive posture. It was all planned, however. Sigga may not have been a master of deceit, but for someone her age she was very well versed in bluffing.
Of course, pretending to be nervous was a much easier accomplishment when one actually was nervous. Instead of banishing the butterflies in her stomach, the girl embraced them. Appearing to be timid and submissive in front of this unknown principal had two objectives. The first was to allow the potentially hostile opposition to play the role of the alpha, lowering their own guard and possible exposing their poker hand prematurely. The second was to help diminish any suspicions that a girl such as this could be guilty of any crime. In this moment in time, she was nothing but a young teenager who may have gotten in over her head in the past and truly wanting nothing more than to become a professional hero.
The liar waited silently, not giving any visible reaction or judgement at a sight that did not fit the stereotype one might have of a typical academy headmistress. The girl simply hoped that she was here to fix a spelling error on her already approved UA application and nothing more.

As the opened Jetstream immediately found her eyes resting on a bald girl who stood about five two and who had a few slight piscine features. All in the all the girl was more or least what she expected although the demeanor in which the girl carried herself was far from what the number six hero had expected. So without missing a beat Jetstream casually noded for the girl to take a seat just seconds before going into her desk and pulling out her trusty flask. "So tell me about yourself Sigga, what makes you want to be a hero?" asked Jetstream as she unscrewed the lid to her flask. With her first question now already asked Jetstream then placed the flasks to her lips and began to take a pretty decent swig. All the while her mind had been running about a mile a minute, which started the moment Sigga entered into her office.
By her demeanor alone this girl comes off as a timid well mannered girl, guess that explains that then. She's quite clever, and almost a good actor which I can only assume she picked up before coming to UA. However from all the things I've read added with the fact that she got herself into enough problems to warrant a leg monitor I'm not quite sure who she's trying to fool. Chances are she doesn't know the extent of the information that I have, which could be why she's playing this game. Oh well, students will be students. I gotta say though aside from the leg monitor and the fact that she's trying to swade me with her little nice girl act she could have been me back in the day. Although I never needed to act, my tomboyness and attitude were well known. As well as what happened to people that messed with me, still maybe this girl is on the up and up. Either ways I'm probably going to have to keep an eye on her, though she has the potential to be a really good hero I think. Let's just hope that her choice to come here is as real and as genuine as her fake nice girl routine. Seeing as I'd hate what I have to do if it wasn't.
As her thoughts finally slowed down, and her quick assessment of Sigga was over the recently appointed principal would finally finish up with her swig. Removing the flasks from her lips Jetstream began retightening the lid and then sat it down at the edge of desk just to keep it within arms reach. This entire time Jetstream had yet to change her possession and from the looks of it, it didn't seem as though she was planning to anytime soon. Mrs. Hedatori was by far a pretty upfront and blunt person, but that didn't mean that she was a stranger to mind games and deception. Still it wasn't her job to sit her and play childish mind games with a teenager. All she cared about was the read she got on a person and right now compared to Quincy, and even Feral, Sigga seemed to be utterly fake. Whether or not that continue through out the meeting was yet to be discovered, as Jetstream wasn't your typical UA faculty member. And compared to most people in this line of work Jetstream did her own thing.

Did she just-? Sigga took a seat opposite the principal. A brief look of confusion flickered across her eyes, now gone as she lowered the bag she had been holding onto the floor beside her. The academy’s headmistress couldn’t possibly be an alcoholic, right? She was probably reading into the appearance of the flask too much. It might have just been filled with pickle juice for all she knew. Although… perhaps there was a different assumption Sigga was making in error. Just because this woman sat in the principal’s office didn’t necessarily mean she was the principal. Though it didn’t mean she wasn’t either…
Unable to make any sort of conclusive deduction, her mind focused on the most immediate concern. She had just been asked a question. Not one she had been expecting, however. This seemed like the kind of query she thought most likely to come from a counselor, career advisor, or maybe even a homeroom teacher. “Um…” The girl began, as she collected her thoughts. It was starting to look like she wasn’t in any trouble after all.
Sigga didn’t need time to come up with a reason for wanting to become a hero. That had been done months ago, back when she had first started suggesting to her JDC psychologist that it had been her personal fantasy to go down that particular career path in her future. But… the girl’s own paranoia suggested that if she was this far back behind enemy lines, it wouldn’t do to simply don on sheep’s clothes. The best, most believable lies had at least a grain of truth to them.
“I’d like people to be nicer to each other.” The girl turned a brilliant scarlet as she said the words, her eyes quickly shifting down to stare at the floor. It was just the way the kind of person she was pretending to be would behave, embarrassed at having such a naïve motivation behind their goal to become a hero. That wasn’t a problem, though. In fact, it was a bit of tactical genius that Sigga would have undoubtedly praised herself for if she hadn’t actually been embarrassed saying the words. It’s not like she could just blush on cue, but the action had to have been rather convincing. “Oh, uh-” She fumbled around with her words, both a little annoyed and delighted with her own lack of composure. The girl began anew, her amber eyes flickering up to the reclining woman. “What I mean is there, um, are a lot of-” Can’t say assholes, here. “-a lot of mean people in the world.” She decided to go with mean since the word bad would have sounded too judgmental for this persona. “Heroes are often on the front lines, not only helping people, but interacting directly with… Villains.” Her mitted hands gripped the seat of her chair as she spoke. “They have the best opportunity to, not fight, but get insight into why a Villain-” her tone changed again as she said the last word, making it clear she didn’t care for the label, “-is behaving like, uh, or rather -what their motive might be, and use that knowledge to de-escalate a situation.”
The bald girl’s gaze dropped down to the floor. Fuck that sounded soppy. She made herself sound like a complete idiot. Maybe she should have also added that she’d like for everyone to hold hands and sing Kumbaya together, adding a little cherry on top of her stupid cake.

Unable to help herself Mrs. Hedatori found the corner of her lips suddenly cup upwards as she noticed the confused and almost lost expression that made it's away across Sigga's face when she saw her drink from her flask. The smile slowly faded as Sigga then went off her on speil all just to answer a simple question, why did she want to be a hero. As sigga continued on Jetstream's face remained completely unreadable, as she didn't let an ounce of emotion stretch across her solemn face. Though honestly it was a bit painful to watch mainly because Jetstream wasn't really like mushy people and on top of it once again the girl's whole demeanor and hell even her answer didn't match what Jetstream was expecting. Thought the part about wanting people to be nicer to people and understanding the motives of the wrongdoers did reignate with the number six hero, so much so she found her thoughts once again blasting off at full speed.
Assuming this little jailbird didn't have it easy it would explain her troubles. Maybe she was treated badly, that could be why she mentioned the whole people be nicer to people stick. If so that would explain her little finding out the villain's motive spiel, she wants people to understand that she only did what she had to. I guess that means she ain't all bad. Assuming of course that I'm right and she's not simply so evil kid looking to cause trouble. EIther way I'm growing tired of the games.
With her thoughts once again slowing down and Sigga now done with her little show and act. Jetstream suddenly lifted of her feet off the desk and planted them firmly on the ground before rolling her chair to fit perfectly under her desk as it was intended. "Alight look let's cut the bull kid. You're past isn't the stuff that dreams are made of I get that, and you likely had to do what you had to do. I get that but right now all I care about is what you want to do with your future. If you want to be a hero I'll back you up and see to it that you're made into the best hero you can be while here at UA. But if you're here to cause trouble then that's where this ends. Now how about for first time since walking into this office you give me real honest, answer, Because I'm not buying what've been currently selling and trust me you pretty much need me to be buying." Stated Jetstream before then reaching for her flask. As she began unscrewing the lid she'd smile and say, "Bourbon." before then putting the flask to her lips.
Jetstream had facts on her side and a long professional career of being a hero, so she knew when things didn't add up. And the clear picture she got of Sigga from her profile was matching the softy melted chocolate that was sitting before her. And sure maybe most people would take the time to try and get the student to open up but Jetstream wasn't that person. She showed and gave people exactly what they saw and for the most she expected the same back, at least out of respect. So here was the moment of truth, was the girl sitting before going to be real or would continue on with her ploy.

What happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object? Well, that is kind of a redundant hypothetical, isn’t it? Nobody present fell into either of those two categories. Anyone who thought of themselves as one or the other was either delusional or had a really, really awesome Quirk. There had been a time when Sigga thought herself decidedly as both, however. Nobody born into the world immediately grasped their own mortality or understood the futility some of their actions might have in life. But those days were behind for this girl. Now, she was like water… sort of. Okay, maybe not really.
It was not uncommon for an adult to call the bald girl out like that. Sometimes it was because the person she was conversing with was particularly wise. Other times they were simply cynical. The question wasn’t which column this woman fell into, but rather what should Sigga do next.
There had been a rather considerable amount of data that had been provided promptly after the girl had finished her performance. She had been called a liar. She was given a veiled threat. And to top it off it was suggested rather overtly that there wasn’t shit she could do about it. As open minded as she thought herself to be, she could see clearly where the lines were drawn in the sand and pretending they weren’t there would be a type of ignorance not privy to this particular student.
Sigga studied the opposition for a few seconds. It didn’t matter what kind of expression she wore now as the supposed principal probably already decided what she was thinking. At least the interaction made it clear that there was only one thought-reader in the room, and that mind-reader was wearing pink mittens. How very considerate of her.
“I’m not here to cause trouble.” She said rather flatly.
The girl very nearly stood back up from her chair, but thought better of it. It was clear what she had to do to exit this scenario unscathed. She had to lose, and lose hard. That was never fun, especially when the person demanding capitulation put themselves on a pedestal so high above the human fish. She had lost plenty of times before, sure. One time her peers back in America even tried to bully her out of her lunch money. She allowed it, acting all meek and pathetic. Later she had gotten sweet, sweet revenge, though. This time didn’t feel all that different, other than all that was demanded from her was her pride or something otherwise intangible like that. That didn’t really amount to much seeing as the girl wasn’t particularly prideful. The problem was that Sigga didn’t know exactly how she was expected to lose.
If Sigga understood the words that had been spoken to her, she simply needed to tell the woman why she wanted to become a hero honestly. The problem there was that the closest thing to that had already been said and she had been called a liar for it. Sure she wasn’t being perfectly authentic, but if her motives were to be so openly questioned regardless of their degree of transparency by someone like the principal, then maybe the teenager’s charade was truly no-more than what the principal was suggesting it was; an act. That did simplify things in a way.

“I’m not here to cause trouble.”
As those words came out of Sigga's mouth Jetstream could immediately feel the honesty in them. The pure raw feeling, as it didn't feel or match up to the demeanor and behavior that was being displayed previously throughout the conversation. Maybe she had gotten through to the young girl or maybe she pissed her off. Jetstream wasn't sure but she felt secured in Sigga's answer. "Look I'd like to say thank you and apologize, you last answer seemed like the real you so thank you and I apologize if I pissed you off. But you and I both know you're previous demeanor was anything but real, and it made me skeptical of you for bit. Now I don't know if you were acting that way because you were worried or because you felt like you had to because of you history. But you can be who you are and still be a hero. I mean look at me I drink, I'm a bit crass, and I'm a straight up tomboy as most people have told me. However that doesn't take away the fact that I'm a hero and that I want to keep people safe. I don't know the full story about you but you decided to come here which means you already know what you want. All I'm asking is that you let people see who you are, and not what you think you need to be or whatever. Because the people and students here will surprise you. Not everyone here or even all the pro heroes come from humble beginning or a family of heroes, yet still they go out everyday and just be themselves. That's all I'm asking from you Sigga, because if I'm being honest after reading about you I was a little excited to meet you. You didn't seem like most students, which I find to be a breathe of fresh air."
After her little speil Jetstream expelled a light sigh as she had hoped that this would signal a turning point for her and Sigga, one in which they could be honest with each other. The girl had the fire, smarts, and potential to be awesome. But she clearly lack the security and or trust to let herself just be. Sadly Jetstream was pretty sure she wasn't going to be able to be the one to get Sigga to let her walls down. And that was fine, maybe this needed a more delicate approach, seeing as it was looking like she was wrong in thinking that Sigga was going to more like her. Oh well maybe she didn't get through to Sigga like she did with Quincy or Feral, but knowing UA someone would get through to her. Hell maybe it won't even be a teacher, maybe it'll be a student. Who knows.

You’re not allowed to play bad cop AND good cop, the girl thought bitterly. Spoken words that would have normally brought comfort and relief fell on deaf ears, or rather fins- in this case. The experiences that had molded the girl throughout her life weren’t easily discarded. Her intrinsic dislike and distrust of authority figures did not soften from this encounter, and perhaps even solidified further. Sigga had made several misjudgments with her performance and any suspension of disbelief her audience may have had at first, had clearly been reduced to ash. The girl would take some lessons away with her, though perhaps not the ones that had been verbalized. She sat quietly as the principal’s lecture neared its conclusion. “I understand.” She replied solemnly. But did she? The rain outside the windows picked up and then died down again as if unable to decide at what intensity it should fall. The girl was regretting having heeded the request to come here, but it didn’t quite look like there would be any sever consequences for having done so… yet. Perhaps it was good that she showed up immediately upon being summoned. Better to tear the bandage off quickly and get it over with than to peel it slowly, prolonging the discomfort. She was still uncertain if her obedient replies were going to cut it, though the one-eighty the conversation took, around the time the teenager announced she wouldn’t cause trouble, suggested that she’d be able to conclude her day at UA relatively unscathed. Sigga considered asking if she was now allowed to leave, but a moment of clarity in thought helped her to take a bolder initiative. “If that’s all-” the fish began, getting back to her feet. The teenager’s leg-fins, hidden from view by the desk, had fully contracted as far as they could against her legs. “-I’ll be going now.” Better to not make it sound too much like a question, just in case the principal came up with some reason to keep her confined in the office any longer. It was difficult to keep her voice neutral and attitude in check, but she managed to stand up, give a slight respectable bow, and then make her way towards the door. As she exit the office and walked down the hall, the girl did her best not to let that conversation get to her; not let it color her opinion of authority figures any further lest she end up lashing out at a teacher in class or something stupid like that. It was frustrating not being an adult yet. Sometimes it felt as if she had around the same legal standing as a baby or kitten: cute, so if you tortured one in public you could get arrested, but they weren’t people. As soon as Sigga reached the building’s doors to the outside she pushed through them and bolted for her dorm, keeping her head lowered and expression hidden from any of the other students walking about.
