Having entered UA between semesters, with little to no previous quirk-honing training, Hanako had a lot of catching up to do if she wanted to make the cut to keep her place in UA's hero course ... especially when it came to combat training. As such, during the first week of school, the rabbit girl sought to familiarize herself with the various combat and training simulation facilities. After all, some extra-curricular training couldn't hurt, right? As such, the girl found herself scouting out various campus locations whenever she could in her spare time.
At least, that's what Hanako preferred to tell herself. The truth of the matter, however, was that the girl was utterly, undeniably, hopelessly lost. After having walked around the various sports and physical education fields, and taking the occasional peek into the various "grounds" as she called them (large-scale training facilities for class practice) Hana had intended to return to the cafeteria for dinner before returning to her dorm. Unfortunately, the plan had gone horribly awry, and it was now nearing 8 PM with no dormitories or cafeteria in sight. 'I knew I should have started heading back sooner ...' she lamented, knowing once the sun fully set, her vision would be inhibited significantly ... not as much as a normal human's ... but her night-vision-esque abilities were dubbed "low light vision" for a reason.
With a sigh, the girl glanced around once again, trying to determine her whereabouts, or perhaps catch sight of someone who could help give her directions. Of course, the campus was all but abandoned at this hour of the night ... at least, it appeared that way to her.

It was tough to manage everything, practising her music, homework, her extra curricular studies. Yet so far Yui had managed to find a way to make it all work. Though it did leave her with not as much free time as some of her classmates otherwise enjoyed. But she was happy despite being busy, she could not simply choose to hang up her guitar and walk away anymore than she could abandon being a hero. Her parents had both been so proud of her when she got offered a place of the hero programme at UA High. It was an incredible achievement, to be accepted at the most prestigious school in the entire of Japan. However she knew there would be no chance to rest or bask in such a victory, at least not for long. If she truly wanted to be a hero then this would require her all.
The petite form of Yui slowly made her way back in the direction of 1-A's dorms. She had originally intended to return sooner than this, but her music practice went on longer than she originally planned. At least the work on the new song was going well, in addition it happened to be a nice night out, it was not like she would be walking back in the freezing rain so there was that. Yui wore her student's uniform, though with the blazer slung over one shoulder, a guitar case hung over the other. Something about music enabled her to voice things, to speak clearly, to generally feel alive. For Yui communicating with others tended to be a difficult task. She was too nervous, anxious, always over thinking things throughout the conversation and generally saying the wrong things. As a result away from her music, she tended to be on the quiet side, even amongst her friends Yui happened to be the quiet one. Yet strangely for her, everything came together when she played her music, when she sang, she felt confident, in control, she could sing thoughts and feelings that she would otherwise be unable to express aloud.
She had not noticed the other girl wandering the campus, she was lost in her own private thoughts and worries. Yet the movement eventually distracted her from the chain of thoughts. It was for her somewhat of a surprise to see another soul out so late. Yui considered calling out, but decided against it. At least for the immediate moment, after all for all she knew the other student had wanted some time to themselves. Living in the dorms and the hero training happened to be challenging so maybe she wanted some peace and quiet. Yui's roommates had peace and quiet from her, if only because the petite girl possessed the foresight to get the room soundproofed. It was not unheard of for her to practice at all hours of the day or night when the mood took her. No matter how good the piece of music or the singer's voice, no one would appreciate being woken up at two in the morning because another student found sleep to be impossible.

Brown eyes wide with worry, Hanako scanned her surroundings yet again. The unfamiliar pathways and various shrubs surrounding her were bathed in a dark pink glow, signaling the ever-nearing end of dusk. The first few stars started to peek from behind the sun's light, and the moon started to edge out from behind one of the nearby buildings. 'This is hopeless ...' the girl thought with a sigh, gaze returning to in front of her before ... 'Is that ...?' She caught a glimpse of what appeared to be a silhouette. It was short, likely a student, with vibrant red hair and a gentle posture. Her heart fluttered in her chest. 'Finally!'
"U-Um ... excuse me? Could you wait a moment?" she called out, picking up her pace to catch up with the stranger. "Um ... I'm kind of new here, and uh ... I got lost on the way back to the dorms ... I need to head to the dorms for 1B ... Not that I know if you know where those are, but uh ... if you know where the dorms are, at least, I should be able to find my way from there." 'I hope ...'
The thought occurred to her that, perhaps, she should have asked for directions to the cafeteria, but she decided a granola bar would have to suffice for dinner tonight, as she didn't want to risk getting lost again. Her stomach let out a quiet growl in protest, though she was pretty sure she was far enough away from the stranger for them to not have heard.

The sudden voice broke Yui from her thoughts and she turned, somewhat surprised to see who had called for her. Yet she did not need to inquire as to why as the other girl rapidly explained the issue at hand. It was difficult to figure out the layout of UA High, it happened to be considerably bigger than most other schools. Where were the dorms for 1-B? An interesting question to be sure, in truth Yui had not personally been to their dorm but she figured it must be near 1-A's. It would only make logical sense, though if it was not near there then she held no alternative ideas as to it's location. "I think it is near 1-A's dorm." She said quietly, not sure what else to say. "Do you want to follow me as far as my dorm? I... I don't know where your own is but it might be near mine?" She pursed her lips uncertain and worried. Talking with people was always a minefield. It was far too easy to slip up and say the wrong thing or use the incorrect word. Yui knew heroes had to be confident when it came to helping others, when they needed to deal with strangers or the press. Ironically she could comfortably play her music to a crowd of strangers, but talking to someone... Well that happened to be a much more difficult matter.
"The school is massive so try not to worry that you got lost." Yui informed the other girl in what she hoped happened to be a comforting tone. "Come on it is getting late." The petite girl added starting to lead the way towards 1-A. They would need to get their sleep and rest up in order to be prepared for whatever the next day might hold for them. Life of a hero was not an easy one, but if being a hero was easy then everyone would do it. By just being here, they had already proved their dedication to the dream of being a hero. The next generation of defenders of the humanity. Yui was not good at talking and being round people she did not know happened to be a challenge for her.

A rush of relief flooded Hanako, and her couldn't contain her sigh as it did so. "Sure, uh ... that would be lovely, thank you!" she gushed, smiling and following the red-haired stranger. It was clear she was likely a girl, from her uniform and the way she spoke, though it was never right to assume such things. She wondered how would be the best way to breach the subject ... or if she should even bring it up at all. Gender could be a touchy thing, and was likely a poor choice in topics for a first conversation. What would be a good one, then?
"So ... I'm assuming you're from 1-A?" she started, noting how the girl had mentioned 1-B likely being near 1-A, followed by offering to let Hana follow her to her dorm, but she hadn't directly mentioned she was from 1-A. "I was actually in your dorm my first day here ... W-Well! Not your dorm, specifically, but 1-A's common area. I got lost, as usual ... though I suppose it's kind of unfair to say I got lost since I'd never been here before, didn't have a tour guide, and didn't have a map," She listed each item off on a finger before turning to the girl with a smile. "Oh! My name's Hanako, by the way, and ..." she trailed off, "... and I'm rambling, sorry ..." A hot flush of embarrassment washed over her, and she sort of bowed her head, suddenly contented to look at the tiles on the sidewalk as the two walked onward.

"It's okay... No need to thank me." Yui said with a shrug, it was not like she could have simply ignored the other girl. Firstly it would have been rude and secondly, a hero helped people out. Not that this really required much help, after all they were simply going back to their respective dorms. With the size of the school, it was a wonder that more students did not get lost on their day to day commutes between lessons and classrooms. Yui had not yet gotten lost here, though she tended to stick with her classmates in order to avoid it. But not everyone could be so fortunate all of the time. But usually, there was someone around to help or advise the lost.
She nodded, listening to the other girl talk. Yui always struggled with talking to others, singing was her thing, it allowed her to voice what she struggled to do normally. "Yes I'm from 1-A." Her companion had gotten lost before, in the 1-A dorms. Unfortunate for her, but she must have found her way from there or at least someone to help her reach her destination. "Maybe you could ask for one?" Yui suggested, unsure of what to say here. It was an easy place to get lost in, but what else was there to do? Stick with a friend? What if what she suggested upset the other girl? What if she was already upset by Yui's answers? If she was that would do little to help the rivalry between their respective classes. "I'm Yui... I... I'm not great at talking to people." She added somewhat awkwardly, hoping that Hanako understood that she did not need to apologise to her, as well as that Yui was not being rude... Talking to people was a challenge for her.

For some reason, the thought to ask for a map had never occurred to Hanako, though now she realized how much suffering could have been avoided if she had thought of it. "Oh, wow ... that's a really good idea," she mumbled sheepishly. She would definitely have to ask for one tomorrow when she went into class. Hopefully there was something she could have ...
"I'm Yui ... I ... I'm not great at talking to people," the redhead said, looking away. Hana felt a little crestfallen. Yui seemed uncomfortable with the entire situation. While the rabbit knew it wasn't entirely her fault, she also understood what it was like to be the person who didn't want to speak, for fear of tripping over her own words, or making things awkward, which it seemed she had already done. "Ah, hah ... I suppose we're both bad at talking to people, in our own ways," she said, continuing to intently observe each stone and bush the two walked past, rather than looking ahead or looking at her conversation partner. Subconsciously, she reached behind her and took hold of the end of one of her ears, soothingly stroking its soft fur. She had to be careful not to pull it too far forward, lest it put too much pressure at the base of the ear and hurt, but the effect was still, over all, fairly calming.
"Well, uh ... If you're in 1-A, you're in the hero course, right? D-Do you mind if I ask what your quirk is?" As soon as the words left her mouth, the girl began to worry again. 'Is it rude to ask about that here?' she wondered, casting a nervous glance at the redhead.

Yui shrugged her shoulders. "Maybe... I don't know." It seemed like a good idea, however she was not about to voice it. After all, it might not be, the map may not have been any good or something might come up to disrupt it. Life had a nasty habit of throwing unexpected curve balls at people. The other girl confessed to having difficulties in communicating with people, at least they were birds of a feather. Given how she possessed a somewhat rabbit based Quirk, good luck should really be a part of it. What with the rabbit's foot after all? Was it offensive to ask such a thing? Maybe it was after all. "Yeah..." She said in agreement uncertain what else to say in regards to this. Talking happened to be difficult. Yet for others, it seemed to be so simple for others in the end, just to talk and it appear so natural, no doubts or confusion, just genuine conversation... Something seemingly simple yet surprisingly complicated when anyone attempted to analyse it.
"Yep." Yui confirmed, she was on the hero course. She seemed to give the question some thought however before finally answering. "I can move through solid objects." She said rather than going into a more complicated and detailed version of her Quirk. There were lots of details to her Quirk, but... That seemed well unnecessary to add... Or was it? Did she want all the detail? Why did she want to know her Quirk anyway? Was it merely an attempt to be friendly? Or did she seek information on her Quirk to use as an advantage against her?
"I would say the same... But I guess your Quirk is rabbit based? Or hare..." Was it offensive to mix the two up?

"Oh, wow," Hanako marveled aloud, pondering what the connotations of such a quirk could be. Phasing through object quirks, from what she had heard, were fairly rare, but also incredibly difficult to use and master. So much so that many people who had them didn't use them often, if at all, unless they planned to be a hero.
"Me? Yeah, a rabbit, though I don't really think there's much difference between the two animals ... except for that fact that hares are leaner and more physically impressive ... faster run speeds and all that," the rabbit remarked, tilting her head slightly as she thought. "Though, I suppose, if I was a hare my ears would be able to stand upright, which might have been a bit cool. Would have made me look really tall." While Hanako was fairly short in stature, her ears were a good two and a half feet long, meaning she could have required a doorway over two meters tall, unless she wanted to duck her way inside ... immediately, part of her decided it was probably best that she was a rabbit, instead.
... and it was back to silence. Part of her wondered if she was bothering the girl at all. Perhaps she was making things harder by wanting to talk, but ... was there much else to do? Hanako didn't want to sit in the quiet and worry about whether she was being a pain the whole way home. After a few moments, the girl took in another breath and said, "Uh ... do you mind if I ask why you're out and about so late? I feel like I haven't seen many students wandering around at this time of the evening on a school night." She hesitated a moment before adding, "I-If I'm making you too uncomfortable or something, I can be quiet on the way home, it's just, uh ... You're the first student I've really had a chance to talk to outside of school."

Yui shrugged her shoulders, personally compared to the rest of her classmates, the other students, the teachers and the heroes she admired, Yui did not believe her Quirk to be that impressive or even overly powerful. But she supposed everyone felt differently about their own Quirk, especially when they held it up against others. She said nothing in reply to it, she did not know what to say. Thank you? It's not that cool but cheers? She found talking to people to be difficult, it was far easier when she happened to be playing her music, singing songs... Then she could talk, the size of the audience did not matter then, Yet why did talking away from such places bother her so much? A mystery to be sure.
Ah good, she was a rabbit. "Yeah... Being four foot seven sucks." That was Yui's height, the smaller side of tiny. At least here in UA High she was not the shortest person at educational establishment. Her previous school, Yui had been the shortest by far... She still did not really know how to react to being taller than someone. She hoped she would have a growth spurt at some point, yet personally doubted such a thing might ever truly come to pass. The silence between the two may have been awkward and uncomfortable, but breaking it and talking happened to be more awkward and uncomfortable for Yui. One wrong word, one incorrectly pronounced word or a misinterpretation by the other party and things might wildly progress out of hand. It was impossible to guess how someone might react. Yui was among the quieter of her classmates in 1-A. Save for the music, which thankfully her room happened to be sound proofed so no one got a three in the morning wake up when Yui decided she needed to practice to clear her mind.
"Music practice." She said in response to the question, her voice quiet. "I play guitar and do vocals." She added feeling a little embarrassed. She loved that guitar, it was her most prized possession, hence why she carried it virtually everywhere with her. Yui did not know how to answer the next question, she was silent for a long time before finally speaking up. "I'm not good at talking to others... Conversations... Are... Awkward for me, difficult..." Preferably, silence would have suited Yui nicely, though it still would have been awkward, the only advantage being that she need not worry about the problems of conversation.
